"EDWARD, THIS IS ADONIS ULEY. Adonis, this is Edward — my boyfriend." Edward tried his hardest to keep his composure and smile towards the hybrid kitsune werewolf.

Kitsune's were extremely powerful creatures that could easily kill vampires and were the most dangerous. They were described as land sirens since they were tricky and manipulative, taking on the appearances of their human forms and others. But since Adonis was only half kistune and half wolf, he couldn't transform into anything other than a wolf half fox.

Edward knew Adonis was a good guy, unlike most kitsune's. But what made Edward quiver was how Adonis hated Edward right off the bat. He already knew he was a vampire and threw insults in his head as he shook his hand. Other than that, it's said the older kitsunes get — the stronger they become, but they're not immortal like vampires and shapeshifters. Since wolf shapeshifters can live almost forever if they keep shifting, Adonis can, too.

"Nice to meet you," Adonis said firmly, holding his daughter on his hip while he shook the vampire's hand. Edward didn't have to read the young adult's mind to know that he was clearly making sure Edward kept his distance from Athena.

"Shall we get to the game?" Charlie suggests awkwardly, grabbing his beer before making his way to the living room with Harry Clearwater and Billy Black. Jacob was invited for dinner, but he hasn't been hanging out with Bella lately due to Edward's sudden return to Forks.

"Yeah, I'll keep an eye on the food."

Bella and Edward awkwardly stood there while Adonis sat Athena in the dining room chair beside him. She started coloring on the coloring books in front of her, biting her tongue in concentration.

Making sure the coast was clear, and Bella patted Edward's side. He rolled his eyes, sighing before coming beside Adonis and sitting down at the table. The hybrid eyed him with a raised eyebrow, "Did I invite you to sit here or...?"

"Oh, um no, but I wanted to talk to you."

"Sorry, but I don't want to talk to you," Adonis remarks, cracking his knuckles and handing Athena a purple crayon.

"I know you're close to the wolves and close to the Swans—"

"Look, I'm only doing this for Charlie and a little for Bella," Adonis quickly interrupted with a glare, shutting up Edward as Bella sighed. "I don't necessarily like you at all. One reason is that you're a vampire, and being here ruins some kids' lives that have the wolf Quilete gene in them. The second reason is that you keep putting Bella in danger and also left her passed out in the woods after you broke up with her. Thirdly, I don't see what Bella sees in you, and because of you..."

Adonis leaned over, lowering his voice for only Edward to hear, "Because of you, Bella wants to ruin her life and become a fucking bloodsucking immortal."

"I'm not the one forcing her. I don't want her to be one." Edward whispers, gulping down as Adonis keeps a fiery red glare.

"Then you should have stayed away."

Then you wouldn't be able to meet your mate. Edward thought, but he kept his thoughts to himself, even though he knew Adonis could sense there was more Edward wanted to say but didn't. Either way, Bella looked at them confused, not understanding the intense exchange they just had.

"I—"

"Adonis! Do you want a beer?" Charlie asks from across the house from the living room. Relieved to be distracted from the vampire in the room, Adonis shouts back, "Yeah, where are they at?"

"Right corner of the fridge! Get me one, too!"

"Me too!" Billy shouts with Charlie, earning a laugh from Adonis. Ignoring Edward, he walks past with the beers, putting Athena on his hip. She lay on his chest, holding her coloring book to take it into the living room.

"Look, Adonis, I'm—"

"You can call me, Uley... And I'll call you, Mr. Cullen — it's only respectful to call your extremely old elders that, so it's only appropriate." Adonis fires back, containing a smirk before leaving the kitchen with Athena.

"Rose is gonna hate him," Bella remarks, making Edward sigh but nod.

"And she's gonna take her anger out on me and rip my arm off."

"How was dinner last night?" Jacob asks with a smirk, running beside Adonis as he makes his appearance at La Push Beach.

Adonis rolls his eyes and ignores the Black, stripping off his shirt and throwing it on the blanket Emily was sitting on. She gladly welcomed Athena into her arms before the little one plopped down and began playing in the sand.

"My dad told me he heard you and Cullen arguing!"

"We weren't arguing. I just wasn't being welcoming."

"Ah, of course. Don't want to become besties with the enemy, right?" Jared asks with a laugh before getting a football thrown at his chest by Leah.

"OW!"

"Can't believe you're hanging out with them." Leah scowls, disgusted by the way her uncle is even in talking distance with one of the vampires.

"It's not like I want to hang out with them. I like hanging out with Charlie and stuff, but I'm not close to Bella, at all. And for some reason, she thought it was important for me to meet her boyfriend." It was weird how hard Bella was pushing a relationship between her and Adonis. Not in an uncomfortable way, but he felt he'd made it quite obvious he was not the biggest fan of it. Ever since she put his daughter in danger, he's been direct and small talk only with Bella. And she's awkward and only seems to be capable of small talk.

Edward is practically the same — it makes Adonis wonder why they like each other. The thought could be rude, but he's never seen them interact "cutely" as a couple. They both don't have much personality. It only seems like she's in love with him because he's a vampire, and he can't stay away from her because she's his bloodsinger.

"HEADS UP!" Quil shouts, tossing a football in his direction, but more toward Emily and Athena.

On instinct, Adonis stuck his hand out and swiftly caught the football with one hand before it hit Emily or Athena. "What the hell, Ateara?!"

"SORRY!" He shouts, getting smacked on the back of the neck by Sam before exclaiming in pain.

"How'd you catch that?" Seth asks astonished.

"Um, I played football in high school."

"Sick... Ever on the bench?" Adonis just laughs, ruffling Seth's hair. "Never on the bench, bud."

They were out on the beach for hours, talking, playing ball, and eating. Soon, it was getting late and everyone had to go home. But Adonis decided to run some errands. He was starving — yeah, he ate like three sandwiches Emily made but that wasn't enough. It was late, so nothing was open, so he went to the store for their premade food directly from the store. Did he want to do that? No, he might get food poisoning, but at this moment he couldn't care less.

"Yo, they got mac and cheese!"

"That's gonna mess your stomach," Jacob mutters from beside him, making the young adult straighten up and nod in agreement. Athena was sitting on his hip, practically asleep in her dad's arms.

"I hate you all," Adonis grumbles, looking at all the options the store has. "I might get the potato wedges."

"Jared got those and had diarrhea for two weeks."

"Jake, leave me alone. My god, Jared always has diarrhea. Almost everything here is gonna get me on the toilet for two weeks." The hybrid demands of the wolf, who rolls his eyes and remains silent.

"What to eat... What to eat..."

Little did Adonis know. A certain blonde was in that same store. Alice forced her to go, saying they needed to appear more human to others if they went to the store regularly. She didn't care since Esme was happy to come along — even though she hated that Alice was trying to set Rosalie up to meet her mate.

Alice only knew he was there because she saw Athena's future before she fell asleep. She needed them to at least see each other and that immediate connection by a mere glance.

"You know what, I'm getting pizza... Mine as well get a whole pizza..." He was muttering to himself, trying to ignore the way he was thinking about food at the moment. "For leftovers... Maybe."

"Rosalie, this way!" Adonis's eyes widen, recognizing that pitchy voice and that death smell. So did Jacob because he quickly had a glare.

"I might kill myself," Jacob remarks, coming beside Adonis.

"Why is she always here when I'm here?" Adonis complains, about quickly grabbing the pizza and booking it.

But he freezes. A rose perfume smell flooded his nostrils, hiding the vampire death smell he had smelled seconds ago. It was like a gooey feeling in his stomach erupted, and it made him feral.

"Don?"

Adonis didn't listen. Instead, he started following the scent. The kitsune in him was going into a frenzy.

Jacob followed behind, throwing his head back in annoyance. Adonis's heart was pounding in his chest as he held his daughter to his chest. Suddenly, speed-walking through the store like a crazy man — he goes to walk in an aisle before jumping back.

"There's three of them!" Adonis scowls, pushing Jacob to hide behind the aisle that had three female vampires in it.

"Three of — Whoa! That smell!" Jacob shouts, immediately getting pulled back by Adonis.

All Jacob could smell was absolute death. Adonis got a hint of it but didn't care because a certain smell and feeling overpowered his senses.

And Rosalie was feeling it too. While Esme knew that he was near, she grew nervous about Alice's plan to set Rose up... So she decided to pretend to look interested in the different scented candles. Alice smells dogs from the two, but she knew one of them was Adonis, making her shake with excitement. Rose smelled the dogs, too. But she knew one was Jacob Black since it was familiar. But she didn't recognize the second smell because it wasn't bad. It was more comforting.

"Can we just leave? Like go to the diner or something—"

"I'm not paying for you—"

"Ugh, why not?"

"I can't afford that much food dumbass!"

"Rosalie, come on, this way!" Alice squeals, clinging onto the blonde's arm, and dragging her down the aisle.

"Um, Alice—" Esme tried to calm the short girl, but it was no use. Nothing could stop Alice at this point. She was too excited for her sister to meet her soulmate.

"Alice, quit pulling me—"

"Jake, Athena is my daughter. She's my responsibility! You're not my kid—"

"Hi, Adonis!" Both of the shapeshifters freeze in confusion before looking in front of them. There they stood — three vampires. All different expressions.

A young woman Adonis has never seen before smiles kindly at him. She almost had movie star-curled hair and a kind young motherly face, something you wouldn't expect from a vampire. Beside her was Alice, a vampire he kind of befriended at this very store not that long ago.

But beside Alice was the most beautiful woman Adonis had ever seen.

The first thing he notices is golden blonde wavy hair that goes all the way down to the middle of her back. Dark brown eyes with a swirl of gold every once in a while. A soft pink color on her lips as her face was contorted in confusion. She wore a silver necklace with matching dangly earrings.

"H-Hey—" His voice was caught in his throat while Jacob looked up at him with a furrowed expression. "Um — Alice."

"Oh, this is my adopted mom, Esme, and my adopted sister, Rosalie." Alice bit her tongue as she said Rosalie's name in anticipation. Her eyes are going between Rosalie and Adonis every millisecond.

"Nice to meet you, Adonis." Esme cheerfully says, shaking his hand with her's.

"Oh um, nice to meet you, Mrs. Cullen." He tried being respectful. He really did, but he couldn't keep his eyes off Rosalie. He swears he hasn't even taken a breath since he's seen her. He was even blown away by how beautiful her name sounded and how perfect it was for a perfect girl.

"This — um — this is my friend, Jacob, and this one is my daughter, Athena."

Jacob was losing his mind right now. Why the hell was Adonis being so nice to these bloodsuckers?! And why was he acting so nervous?

Esme, Alice, and Rosalie awkwardly looked at Jacob. Only earning a glare in confusion and hate in return.

Something weird was going on.

"She's beautiful." By her voice, Adonis's eyes turned big and soft at Rosalie. The wolf and fox inside him ignited, and the flame was big.

"Um, t-thank you."

Rosalie forced a smile. Darting her eyes hard at Alice, clearly furious by this setup.

"We better get going..." Esme retorted, smiling brightly at them.

"Oh yeah, you know, vampire things—" Alice remarks, earning a pinch from Rosalie, who quickly makes them turn in the opposite direction.

Jacob suddenly then froze. No fucking way.

He watched as Adonis's eyes followed them out of the store — specifically Rosalie. His daughter held tightly to his chest as she slept while Adonis turned lovesick in a matter of seconds.

Rosalie couldn't help but look back before disappearing out of the store. She catches his eyes, almost making Adonis's legs grow weak.

"Holy shit..." He's frozen in place, looking into the beautiful pair of golden eyes staring before him. He's experienced this before but not like this. This wasn't like the time he imprinted on Athena. This was no fatherly imprint.

Thousands of moments with the beautiful blonde flashed through his mind. There was repairing cars together, taking care of Athena, picnic dates, and early mornings. God, he saw one where he got to kiss her lips, and all he wanted to do was run to her and kiss her until they were both sick of it. And he only met the girl merely seconds ago.

He wants to run after her and fall to his knees in front of her. Praise the ground she walks. His heart swelled in excitement for her.

Jacob looked at him before groaning and glaring at the blonde, earning a warning growl from Adonis, "Adonis just fucking imprinted on a bloodsucker."
