"WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Adonis urgently asks, running through the hospital, and catching sight of the Clearwater family excluding Harry with Billy and Jacob. Sue was holding Seth, who was sobbing into his mother's chest. Billy was patting Sue on her shoulder, with slight tears in his eyes. He was sad because he had lost a long-time friend.
"I have to go, I'm sorry," Jacob mutters, avoiding eye contact as he rushes out of the hospital. Adonis's senses were going crazy, knowing something bad had happened. His eyes flickered to the small tear stains on Sue's cheeks, the sounds of Seth's sobbing, and the small few sniffles from Billy.
"Sue..." He whispers, his lips trembling, nervousness creeping behind his neck and his heart pounding against his chest.
Emily watched Athena as soon as Adonis got a call from Leah to come to the hospital. Leah was stuttering and sounded in shock over the phone, quickly hanging up, leaving Adonis confused.
"What's — What's going on?" He asked before hearing a familiar voice.
"No, no, no, he can't be—" He turned, catching sight of Leah talking to the doctor with her hands over her mouth. The doctor walks away from her, about to go to Sue about the sad news as Adonis quickly walks to Leah, passing the doctor.
"Leah—"
"He's gone! He — He's gone, Ada!" She sobbed, falling into his arms, and he quickly caught her as she clutched onto his shirt in complete despair.
Suddenly, everything slowed down as Adonis fell to his knees, holding the heartbroken Leah in his arms. Adonis's breath gets caught in his throat with realization. Harry was dead. He had a heart attack — Adonis could hear from the doctor as he spoke to Billy because Sue was now in disbelief that she'd lost her husband.
Adonis has only been present for one death of a loved one. He was there when his father died, but that was also the first time meeting him. But even so, that was traumatic, watching someone close die. With his mother, even though he was the cause of her death, he used to have nights thinking about a woman who birthed him but never knew.
He didn't know what caused Harry's heart attack, but it couldn't be good since Leah was exclaiming it was her fault. Adonis knew she didn't hurt him, well, not on purpose but by the look on Sam Uleys face when he made eye contact with Adonis when he entered the hospital — the look told him everything.
Leah phased, causing Harry's weak heart to stop in shock.

NOW THEY WERE AT THE CLEARWATER HOME. People were coming and going out of the house, giving their condolences to the family. Leah didn't want anyone's pity, not making eye contact with anyone who'd come and say they were sorry for their loss. She was only accepting them with a forced smile for her mother. Seth was beside her on the couch with his heart beating out of his chest, not knowing how to feel anymore.
Sam came by for a little to say sorry to the family, giving Leah a hug, which she limply accepted. That was when Adonis found out that it wasn't just Leah who phased, Seth did too. She's the first female shapeshifter in Quileute history and Seth was the youngest to phase. They blame the redhead vampire running around causing these kids to phase.
Once Sam left, it was only Adonis, Billy Black, and Charlie Swan comforting the family. Emily stayed home, babysitting Athena — they both thought it was best for her not to be around such a brooding atmosphere. Athena wasn't dumb, she knew something would be wrong when she didn't see a bright smile on Seth or Sue's face. She knew something would be wrong when Leah didn't press a kiss on her cheek in greetings when she caught first sight of her. Adonis thought he wouldn't let anyone babysit Athena for a while but Emily is most likely his best friend, and he has no thought in his mind that she'll put his daughter in danger.
Adonis barely even ate the food Charlie bought from his favorite restaurant, and that's something. He didn't know Harry well, but he loved the man, thought he was funny, and loved him like a brother-in-law. He couldn't recite many memories with him but he was still family. Then, seeing his sister, niece, and nephew this way made everything worse. He hated seeing the people he loved upset, it made him feel like he needed to fix it. But he knew he couldn't do anything to make things better other than be there for them. That's all he could do and it broke his heart.
"Are you sure?" Sue softly smiled at Adonis, cupping his cheek as he looked at her worriedly. "Go get Athena, Ada. It's late, you need to go to sleep."
"I can stay the night, Athena loves Emily—"
"Ada." He looked into her brown eyes, determined with a bright smile towards her younger brother by twenty years. She pulled him into a hug, wrapping her arms around his neck as he tucked his head into her neck and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I love you, Ada... Please, go home, I will call you if we need anything."
"Okay... But—" She gave him a stern look and he quickly stopped himself from continuing. He sighed, showing a small smile before nodding over to Seth and Leah napping against each other on the couch.
"Make sure they know too, I don't want them hesitating when it comes to calling me, I'll always be here." He mutters to her, making her nod and press a kiss to his cheek before he slowly turns and leaves the Clearwater residence.
Adonis got into his car, beginning a drive to Emily and Sam's house. On his way, he suddenly gets a call from Hari, his little cousin.
"Hey, Doni!" She cheered over the phone, her excitement coursing through him and making him stifle a small laugh.
"What's up, Hari?"
"Oh, um, I just forgot to call you last week for our daily calls, it's not too late over there, right?" Adonis peered around the pitch-black sky, his smile stretching even farther.
"Not too late, so tell me, how's these two weeks been going?"
"Mom thinks I'm going to be able to start training for my kitsune abilities! They haven't activated, you know? But she's gonna start teaching me fighting skills, like how she taught you when you were my age! I'm genuinely so excited — oh and Kara is gonna teach me how to shoot a gun!"
"Oh god, Kara is gonna teach you how to shoot a gun?! Does mom know?" Adonis asks with a laugh as can already see the girl shrugging for the answer on the other side of the phone.
"Kind of... Well, I'm not gonna go telling her about it! That should be something Kara should talk to Mom about, not my business!"
"Good mentality, I'm sure your mom would love that."
"Anyways! How's Athena, is she with you? I miss her so much." It's funny how Hari isn't actually this talkative but she is if she knows you well enough. Since she sees Adonis as an older brother and feels fully comfortable with him, she talks a lot when she has a lot to say but there are times she's quiet and likes listening. She's mostly a listener but she can be a talker if she's in the mood and she feels comfortable enough to talk a lot with you.
"I'm actually on my way to get her from a friend's house, I had some things to take care of and she's only watching Athena for a little."
"Ooo, she?" Adonis rolls his eyes with a chuckle, shaking his head.
"Yeah, she, her name is Emily, I've told you about her."
"Mmm, don't really remember the name but tell me all about her!" Hari was one of the million people he knew who also egged him on about getting a girlfriend... It was annoying but more amusing when she did it since she was young and loved all that fake fairytale love.
"Well, for one — she's engaged to a good friend of mine, Sam." That's when she lets out a dramatic groan.
"UGH! Get some friends that are girls, who aren't engaged, and start finding your soulmate, Doni!"
"Why is everyone telling me that lately? Do I seriously look lonely to you people?"
"YES!" He scoffs, pulling into Emily and Sam's house and parking the car.
"You're annoying, you know that? Go watch Gilmore Girls or something, last time we were talking you were saying how blind Rory is—"
"She is blind! She stayed with Dean — who is still very attractive — when hot Chad Michael Murray was blatantly flirting with her the whole time! I don't agree a lot with Rory's decisions... And Loralie's..." He knew bringing up one of her favorite shows that she's binge-watching would immediately distract her from talking about his love life. She loved ranting and talking about the shows, the plot twists, and the characters with her thoughts and opinions.
"So I'm hearing now that Tristan is your favorite now?"
"Oh no, Jess is still my favorite. Even though he's not much in season two, I've seen the show a thousand times already and it's always gonna be — Jess, Logan, Tristan, and then Dean. I love Dean but he was too controlling at times... Like he broke up with Rory because she didn't say 'I love you' back! And never really cared about how much she cared about Harvard and only cared about him and his needs in the relationship!"
He knew she could go on forever about this and he let her do so until it was getting a little too long and he needed to go get Athena from inside Sam and Emily's house. Hari cheerfully said goodbye and 'I love you' — stating that she had a bad dream not long ago that she and her mom got into a bad fight and Caiji died with 'I hate you,' being their last words exchanged between the daughter and mother... So now Hari is saying 'I love you' any time she or that said person leaves a room.
Adonis laughed, saying 'I love you' back and goodbye before hanging up and getting out of the car. He gets Athena and has a few upsetting conversations with Sam and Emily as they are still upset about Harry's death. But Adonis didn't want to stay long, especially discussing a conversation that only would make his mood bad again and he didn't want Athena to see him upset. Thankfully, Athena was sleeping when he got her, so she slept the whole ride home as Adonis played U2 softly in the background as he drove home.
Suddenly, a nice black car zoomed past him, making his eyes widen, cursing quietly at the car, ignoring the fact that Bella Swan was in the passenger seat of that illegal speed-driving car.
But little did he know, Alice has been secretly keeping an eye out for him ever since she came rushing to Forks after seeing a vision of Bella jumping off a cliff. She's been going in and out of visions through other people around him. She sadly couldn't have visions for him because he was part wolf and her visions haven't been able to transfer through other species but she sees snippets of him in the future through Bella and Charlie's visions. And she hasn't seen barely anything.
Other than seeing Charlie's vision, coming to find out about Harry Clearwater's death, a good friend of his, and rushing to the Clearwater residence to comfort the family. Then, that's where Alice saw Adonis. He was going to be at the Clearwater house, looking upset and worried but it was only short since this vision wasn't about him, it was Charlie's. That's why she drove that certain way because she also knew he was coming back from picking up Athena — whose vision she can now see — from Emily Young's house.
But never getting to see his visions, worry Alice because she wants to make sure her sister's mate is okay... Even though the blonde has no idea about his existence and his being in Forks.
