"DONT TALK TO ME." Adonis rasped, clearly annoyed at Sam as he put his hands up in surrender, taking a step back from the other Uley.

Adonis was working on Emily's car, and Sam — not the mechanic — was talking like he knew what was wrong with the car. It was annoying the crap out of Adonis, who was about to throw a wrench at Sam's head.

"I'm just saying, if you pop the head again, I can show you—"

"You don't know what the hell you're saying, Sam — you called me to fix your fiancee's car, so here I am! If you suddenly know what's wrong with the car, you should have worked on it before calling me to help—"

"It just looks like you're confused—"

"I'm not confused, I'm just trying to figure out what's going on! You are not helping at all!"

The two were arguing back and forth for the past thirty minutes. Adonis has already "accidentally" kicked Sam in the nose when he was under the car, and Sam's face was too close to his foot when he was trying to get out from under the car.

They were in front of the Uley house, while Seth, Athena, and Emily were sitting on the porch watching them, all amused. Usually, Seth wouldn't hang around the Uley house because... Well, the whole drama between his sister, Emily, and Sam, but he was already hanging out with Adonis and Athena before Sam called him up to look at what's wrong with Emily's car.

"Get off my ass, Uley!"

"Watch your language, your daughters present, Ada!" Emily scowls, an amused grin across her face as Adonis lets out a loud groan, glaring into the back of Sam's head as he looks under the hood.

"How do you guys have the same last name?" Seth asks curiously, but neither of the guys answers as Adonis slaps Sam's hand away.

"Don't fucking hit that, you idiot—"

"Look, I'm not gonna break anything, I'm just checking—"

"Checking for what? Are you checking to see if the battery is breakable or something — cause it is—"

"If you couldn't tell, they have far distant family relations. So I want to say they are around like fourth cousins, I couldn't be for sure, though." Emily answers Seth as Athena came up to them, handing Seth the thousandth flower she's found. There was a variety of small flowers in a pile beside Seth on the porch as he collected them for her.

"Sam, don't touch that—"

"I'm just checking, damn it!" Adonis shakes his head, grabbing the alpha's shoulder and pulling him out of the way to close the hood of the car.

"It's not going to work. We still have to—"

"It's going to work," Adonis assures, ignoring Sam as he goes to the driver's seat to try starting up the car again.

Sam smacks his lips, rolling his eyes as Adonis brushes past him, stealing the keys out of his pocket. They all watch Adonis start up the car and finally work on the first try.

"There you go, baby! Suck it, Sam!"

"Yeah, whatever, man," Sam mutters as Athena runs to her dad, holding a red rose.

"Look, Daddy!" Adonis furrows his eyebrows but smiles nonetheless at her.

"You guys grow roses around here?"

"No," Emily answers from beside Sam as Seth walks over to the two, holding all of Athena's flowers.

"Pretty!" She exclaims, getting on her dad's lap and putting the rose in his hair. He begins smothering her in kisses, making her squeal, trying to playfully push his face away.

"Jacob still hanging with Bella?"

"Yep, I wouldn't be surprised when he phases, he imprints on her."

"Yeah, it's sickening how much he talks about her," Adonis mutters, suppressing a laugh as Seth gives him a small smirk.

"You don't think you'll ever meet another imprint?"

"I don't even think that's possible—"

"Hey, you never know — imprinting has been going on for years. You don't know, there could have been a time imprinting twice, was possible," Emily remarks, smirking at her single friend, who rolls his eyes, getting out of her car with Athena on his hip.

"I should set you up with one of my friends, you're so lonely—"

"I'm not lonely, I have Athena, and you guys—"

"Even I have a girlfriend, and I'm only fourteen." Adonis quickly gives the kid a look, raising his eyebrows.

"You have a girlfriend?"

"Yes, sir, and she's beautiful!" Seth exclaims, making Adonis chuckle, closing the car door and making his way to his car.

"You know, Seth — I was gonna try to set you up with a friend I have in Alaska—" This perked Seth's interest as Adonis smirked, and Seth jogged to be beside him.

"What's their name—"

"Oh shut up, Clearwater!" Adonis laughs, pushing his head away before turning around to look over at Emily and Sam.

"We got to go! I'm having dinner with Billy!"

"Okay, bye, thank you! Come by sometime, and I'll make you some food as thanks, " Emily shouts, making Adonis quickly grin with a thumbs up above his head. He's always up for free food.

"I have a girlfriend!" Seth scowls, trying to convince the possibility as Adonis buckles Athena in the back seat in her car seat. He only chuckles, shaking his head before getting in the driver's seat.

"Sure, buddy."

"So Jacob's going to the movies with Bella and her friends?" Adonis asks Billy, scarfing down some cookies he found in a jar in the kitchen of the Black household.

"Yeah... But I'm worried about this bloodsucker running around, though."

Adonis frowns, remembering what Sam was telling him about the sudden murders happening that was obviously a redheaded vampire. They couldn't get her, and it was causing more kids to start phasing around the reservation. You'd think because the Cullen family left, there'd be a decline in kids' phasing, but because of that mysterious vampire constantly moving, it's making things harder on all the elders.

"Yeah, it's a matter of time till Jacob phases, and then he can be the true alpha."

"I just hope it's not tonight when he's with Bella — he has the biggest crush on her, I'm so happy those Cullens moved away," Billy mutters, making Adonis nod as Athena sat on Billy's lap, on the edge of slumber.

"Bella dated an Edward Cullen, right?"

"Ugh, I hated that guy, I'm so happy he left—" Jacob immediately remarks, coming out of his room with a new change of clean clothes. Running a hand through his long hair, he steals the cookie in Adonis's hand, "Hey!"

"You leaving, son?"

"Yeah, Bella's here to pick me up." Eyeing Jacob, Adonis sets the jar of cookies down on the counter.

Adonis teased Jacob to have fun, making him roll his eyes and leave through the front door. Billy and Adonis share a smirk before the front door opens again, revealing Harry and Sue Clearwater with their kids followed by Charlie. Adonis greets them with a grin and gives them all small hugs.

"Oh, look at her, my beautiful niece!" Sue whisper-shouts, and at the sound of her favorite aunt's voice — Athena forces her eyes open, sporting a bright smile towards Sue.

"Uncle Billy better hand you over!" Sue playfully scowled, making the man laugh, letting Athena get picked up by Sue. The little one quickly lays limp against Sue's chest and lays her head on her shoulder.

"Aw, is she tired?"

"Yeah, she hasn't gotten a nap in today—"

"She's like her dad, always taking naps — yesterday, he was over at my house watching the game and took a nap on the couch!" Charlie calls Adonis out, making the young man scoff with a laugh.

"Yeah, he's a napper like our dad. He was always taking naps." Sue laughs, sitting at the dining table with Leah. Billy, Harry, and Charlie go out on the back porch to barbecue.

"Hey, Ada..." Adonis looks at Leah in wonder as she hesitates to ask something, playing with her hands nervously. "Is it okay if I ask about Athena's mom?"

"Leah!" Sue scowled, pinching the teen's arm, immediately making her gasp in pain. Adonis's mood quickly drops but with a gulp and smile, he nods.

"What? Charlie was wondering the same thing outside!" She complains, throwing the man who just walked inside under the bus.

"Was not!" Charlie quickly states, not knowing what they are talking about but saying it anyway. "What am I wondering?"

"Athena's mom."

"Oh, right... Sorry."

"No, it's okay — I can talk about it. It was like a year and a half ago." Adonis reassures, waving his hand before lifting himself to sit on the counter. Seth suddenly becomes interested in the topic, unfortunately not knowing the story about Athena's mom/Adonis's ex.

"We were still in school when we had Athena, and she hated it. Neither did she like Athena, and that took a toll on my mental health because I was then the only one taking care of her..."

"But, I guess, one day, she had enough and just left with her parents for Texas... Leaving me and Thena. It's not that much of an interesting or long story." Adonis says with a dry laugh, looking out of the window in thought. Sue sent a glare towards her daughter for bringing it up, making Leah sink into her chair in guilt.

"She just left?" Charlie asks, coming beside Adonis as he nods, craning his neck.

"Yeah, I mean — I knew she still loved me because she wanted me to come with her, but I told her no... And I told her if she left me and Athena, she'd never see me or her daughter again. But she still left...."

"I don't know, it doesn't affect me that bad anymore because it made me realize how her parents treated me and my aunt and how crappy she was as a girlfriend and mom... But I still think about what would happen if she didn't leave, you know? And if she cared about Athena from the start... But I don't care. She's missing out, and that's on her."

"You're a pretty cool dad, so screw her." Seth suddenly says, making them break out into small laughter as Adonis fights off a grin.

"Hey, let's be nice, okay?" Adonis laughs, crossing his arms over his chest. "But if Chloe ever did come back, wanting to try to have a connection with Athena... I think I'd still let her if that's what Athena wanted."

"Really?" Leah asks with wide eyes, making Adonis scrunch his lips with a nod.

"She's still Athena's mom... And if she wanted to know who she was and Chloe wanted to, too, all of a sudden — I'd let her. I would never keep Athena away from what she wants to know and making her own decisions... I don't want to talk badly about her mom because she still shares blood with my daughter, and I don't know... it just doesn't seem right for me to keep her from her if Athena wants to know her."

"You're a good dad, Adonis — Athena is lucky to have a father like you." Charlie compliments, patting the young father's shoulder.

"Thanks, it means a lot."

A few hours later, Charlie went home to sleep with the others still at the house. Athena was fast asleep, softly snoring in Sue's arms with Adonis also fast asleep. At first, he fell asleep with his head back on the couch, but he slowly slid to laying on his side behind Leah. She didn't bother to move him as he snored against her back, drool unknowingly going on her back.

Leah's elbows were propped on her knees with a gaming controller in her hands as Seth was sitting on the ground, playing against her in Mario Kart. Harry and Billy were talking at the dining table about the redheaded vampire — usually, Adonis would be included in the conversation, but they weren't gonna try to wake him up. When Adonis sleeps, he's the hardest person to wake up and the grumpiest person when disturbed by his slumber.

So when Sam Uley comes running into Billy's small house, seeking Adonis's help — Adonis is pissed.

"ADONIS!"

"What's going on, Sam?"

"It's Jacob. He's phased." Sam informs Billy, immediately making everyone try to wake Adonis now.

Avoiding her ex's eyes, Leah gets up as Adonis groans into the couch cushions. "Ada, you need to get up!"

"No."

"It's Jacob, we need your help—"

"God dammit, fine!" He groans, getting off the couch, half asleep. Tripping over his feet and Seth, accidentally stepping on his foot — Adonis finally passed Sam.

"It just had to be today, I never get sleep in anymore."

"You mean your daily naps?" Sam teased, making Adonis stick his foot out, making the alpha trip and fall on the porch. "Dammit, Don!"

"Sue—"

"Pick her up whenever. She'll be at my house, don't worry." His half-sister assured him, making him smile, squinting his eyes trying to force himself awake.

"Okay, Sammy, let's go deal with this new wolf pup," Sam rolls his eyes at the nickname, wiping the dirt off his face and shoving Adonis as he laughs before they both shift into their wolf forms. Their clothes ripped into small pieces onto the grass as they sprinted into the woods.

"What did I tell you about calling me Sammy?" Sam scowls through the mind link, making Adonis laugh.

"You're hilarious to think that I'm gonna listen to you—"

"I'm an alpha—"

"Not my alpha, Sammy. Don't forget that." Adonis remarks, making Sam scoff and run through the trees beside each other, trying to track down Jacob.

"HA SAMMY!" Embry laughs through the mind link, immediately making Adonis laugh as Sam gets more furious at the larger wolf kitsune hybrid running beside him.

"Don't worry, Sammy, it's a cute nickname. Now be the big old alpha and find your new little wolf cub—"

"Shut up, Ada!"

"Well, you shouldn't have woke me up from my fucking nap and maybe I would have been nicer!"
