36 ' THIRTY - SIX '

Jemima held her phone tightly, her fingers had hovered over the contact over and over again. She had no idea why she was trying to contact him. After storming out of their party the last time; not even Black had reached out to her. Bimbo was the only one who had sent her several messages in a row trying to apologize and she had immediately forgiven her.

ButterFly Fairy had a knack for targeting her, she wrote tons of blog posts everyday but it was literally the fifth or sixth time that she was mentioning her and dragging her into a mess. She was also good at distorting the truth.

Jemima closed the phone app and opened the school forum again, the post concerning she and Professor Farida had over ten thousand comments. She had scrolled through the comments before but scrolling through them again made her irritated.

Luckily most of the comments were on her side. Although some of the others had questions, Professor Farida was easy going, everyone knew that and she had worked in CUA for almost five years without having problems with anyone, why would she suddenly out of the blues make life hard for a first year student? It simply didn't make sense.

Jemima's eyes caught a comment and she furrowed her brows.

It's literally a sense of crisis. Who doesn't know our Professor here is head over heels for King? Finding out such a pretty girl was around him was bound to cause a sense of crisis. She got lucky it was just her, ask the other girls, she went as far as meeting some of their other lecturers and asking them to fail the students until they promised never to get near twenty steps of him. Obsessive fellow and she doesn't even like her.

"She likes King?" Jemima asked no one in particular scoffing; "She's so old and she likes a boy almost how many years younger than her" she continued dropping her phone and clapping her hands in bewilderment.

"That's not even a problem but sticking to him this way and making life hard for other people around him is just gutter behavior" she added again grabbing her phone to read the replies on that comment.

I wish everyone knew how obsessed Professor Farida was with King. She would disturb some of the you know in the class, asking for his whereabouts and all.

No one could absolutely mention him around her, you are in soup. She was such an irritating person when it comes to matters concerning King.

Well I heard they slept together once and King was going to cut her off but she stuck to him like glue. And we know he never sleeps with a lady more than once. She wanted to change the narrative. Pompous bitch.

She deserves every single thing that happened to her. She was so hateful to my friend. She has an extra year because she sat in front of King during a symposium. Can you believe her?

Wow. I can't believe all this. How did none of this never get out even once?

I also have no idea.

Jemima's mouth fell agape at the audacity of Professor Farida, "This even doesn't make sense" she muttered again to herself. The room door opened and Vickie walked in.

"Hi, how are you?" She greeted with a tired face.

"I'm alright. Classes were stressful?" Jemima asked with a small smile and Vickie fell on her bed.

"I feel like the man has a vendetta against having a long life" she replied and Jemimah burst into laughter.

"I heard you talking while I was outside, what's going on?" Vickie asked, sitting up and unbuttoning her shirt.

"I'm reading some of the comments on the post ButterFly Fairy made about me" Jemima replied honestly and Vickie frowned.

"Why would you read that? That stupid blogger doesn't even know what's good for her" she replied and Jemima chuckled.

"Well most of the comments are on my side but I'm reading some very funny comments here" she started stretching her phone to Vickie who stood up from her bed and scrolled through the comments before chuckling as well.

"I heard some things from some of our seniors," she replied, removing her shirt.

"I heard she was in love with him" she continued and Jemima burst into laughter with an irritated face, "In love my ass" she commented and Vickie laughed as well.

"She has a thing for King, so she made life horrible for anyone who tried to get close to him" Vickie continued and Jemimah frowned.

"That's terrible. She's way older than him and bullying everyone who comes into contact with him?" She asked and Vickie nodded her head in agreement.

"One of the girls even told me that if you mistakenly wore the same type of shirt or colour of shirt with him and she notices, you are doomed. Or maybe the same type of sneakers or anything at all" she continued and Jemimah chuckled.

"This is madness. Same type...." Her voice came to a pause as she remembered what exactly had happened when she met Professor Farida.

She had been eating chocolates and those were the same chocolates she had given Micah the previous day. She remembered her first question to her; Where did you get those chocolates?

"That woman is a bastard" Jemimah said through gritted teeth.

"What is the problem?" Vickie asked surprised at Jemimah's change.

"I just found out exactly why she was so mean to me. I guess he found that out too that's why he took care of it" she continued and Vickie furrowed her brows.

"What exactly are you talking about?" She pressed on and Jemimah shook her head, opening the phone tab and directly dialing his number.

She had only given him a chocolate yet he had caused her so much trouble. She needed an explanation!

The call was picked barely after two rings, "Choco" his baritone voice sent down chills down her spine and Jemimah gulped unconsciously.

"Hi" she greeted quietly.

"Is there a problem?" He asked and Jemimah swallowed again.

"Do you have time to come and see me?" She asked in reply, her earlier vendatta against him putting her in trouble forgotten.

"I'll call you when I'm outside" he replied and Jemimah nodded quietly.

"Okay. See you" she added ending the call. She raised her head to meet Vickie's amused ones.

"I didn't know you had a boyfriend" she cooed and Jemimah immediately shook her head vigorously.

"Boyfriend? I don't have on. He's not my boyfriend, I wouldn't dare. I still very much love my life" she rushed the words out and Vickie burst into laughter.

"Just because I said I didn't know you had a boyfriend made you this disoriented? C'mon Jemimah, there's something going on with you guys" Vickie commented laughing, "You weren't even this ruffled when I thought you and Peter were dating. Seeing you all riled up, I already have my answer. You like this person but you won't admit it" she added and Jemimah shook her head.

"I can't like him" she stated firmly and Vickie raised her eyebrow.

"Now I'm curious. You said can't. Why can't you? Is he some heavenly God or something? It's not like it's King" she said with a short laugh and Jemimah chuckled.

Well it's exactly him my dear.

"Besides, I don't know him enough to like him" Jemimah muttered watching as Vickie folded her arms and staring at her like she had grown two heads.

"Jemimah, have you ever liked someone?" She questioned and Jemimah shook her head.

"No" she replied and Vickie shrugged, "We'll that's explains it. Let me ask you a few questions"

"I'm listening" Jemimah replied dropping her phone and facing Vickie squarely.

"What do you think of most guys?" Vickie asked and Jemimah furrowed.

"I don't know. Most of them are lousy and average looking, like to flaunt and most times; they have nothing to flaunt except ...." Jemimah was yet to finish when Vickie cut her short: "What about this person?" She asked.

"I heard his voice before I knew him. The first time I heard his voice I made a mental note to add having a good voice to the things on the list I want in a guy. Before that day, I didn't have a list" Jemima replied bursting into laughter.

"He's ridiculously handsome too. You know those types of guys that do nothing, absolutely nothing and they look like they have just walked out of a Dior magazine cover? He's like that" she continued while Vickie watched her with a smile.

"So he pops up in your mind once in a while? He's different?" She asked again and Jemimah rubbed her chin as if in thoughts.

"I can't recall but we somehow keep running into each other. He's very different from other people, and he's caring in a way that makes me just...." Jemimah raised her head to use her eyes to explain to Vickie but seeing the later smiling at her, her brain replayed all that she had said and she chuckled lightly.

"It's good to see that even you have realized what's going on" Vickie informed maintaining her smile.

"Even if you choose not to admit that you like him, you do know that you feel different about him. And that alone is a lot" she firmly commented and Jemimah laughed.

"You might be right Vickie, but this person is someone I really cannot afford to like" she said and Vickie shrugged.

"I'm really curious, whoever the person is, that can make almighty Adeleke Jemimah not afford to like" she commented turning and walking to her wardrobe to change her clothes while Jemimah fell back to her bed trying to digest the information she had just found out.

She felt different about him. Maybe she liked him. Maybe she didn't. But she really couldn't afford to like him. Nobody had to tell her, he was a cultist, powerful enough to send a Professor packing in one night. He had secrets, a murderer too maybe, deadly for sure.

Liking him was totally out of the picture.

Her phone rang and she quickly picked the call biting on her lower lip.

"Come outside"

"Give me a minute" she responded quietly ending the call and standing up from her bed. Vickie raised her head from her tablet and smiled at her.

"Don't think about it too much, enjoy yourself. Ask for a drive or something" she suggested and Jemimah nodded her head.

"Thank you" she appreciated her and stepped out of the room.

Micah had brought a different car this time around and but she knew he was the one. She quickly opened the front door and got into the call.

"Hi Choco" he greeted and a small smile wore it's way to Jemimah's face.

"I still cringe when you call me that" she replied.

"You'll get used to it" he commented as their eyes met in the middle.

He was handsome and dashing like every other time they met or she saw him. He was a plain green shirt on and a small chain dangled on his neck, she hadn't seen him wear it before.

"You are staring" he informed her and Jemimah coughed tearing her eyes away wearing an embarrassed smile.

"Where do you want to go?" Micah asked and Jemimah shrugged.

"A drive?" She asked tentatively and watched as Micah nodded his head before pressing on the accrelator and the car sped into movement.

"Christ heavens, slow down" she exclaimed but she couldn't hide the excitement in her eyes.

"You don't look like you want me to" he replied and Jemimah coughed again in embarrassment.

"I want to get chocolates on the way. And ice cream" she informed him and an amused smile spread across his lips.

"Okay".

Jemimah had barely relaxed into the seat when her phone rang again. Surprise fitted across her face as soon as she saw the caller ID. She picked the call and placed the phone on her ears.

"Hi Jemimah" Annabelle's voice rang in her ears.

"Hi Anna. Good evening" Jemimah greeted.

"Good evening. Are you doing alright?" She asked and Jemimah nodded even if she couldn't see her.

"Yes I'm doing fine. You?"

"I'm doing quite alright too. So I wanted to ask if you'll have time on Thursday. The shoot is supposed to be on Thursday" Annabelle informed her.

"Oh sure. Yes. What time?" Jemimah asked.

"It's a long process so can you be ready by 7am? You'll have to change your makeup about twice and all" Annabelle replied.

"I can"

"Okay. Can you text me your room number? I'll be there by 6:30am" Annabelle continued and Jemimah nodded.

"Okay. Is there anything I'm supposed to bring?" She asked.

"Nothing at all, I mean except yourself" Annabelle joked and Jemimah laughed.

"Okay"

"Thank you. Byee"

"Byeee"

Jemimah let the call drop as she dropped her phone.

"You are going somewhere?" Micah asked and Jemimah nodded.

"You know Annabelle right?" She asked and Micah nodded his head.

"Of course I do"

"Well we ran into each other this day in the hostel and she said I looked very pretty and would look good for one of her shoots. She asked if I would like to do it and I agreed" Jemimah said and Micah nodded his head again.

"She has good eyes" he commented and Jemimah furrowed her brows.

"Good eyes?" She asked and Micah turned to glance at her, their eyes meeting for a millisecond before he turned his attention away.

"Yes, she does"

----------------------------------------------------------

I live for the interactions between Micah and Jemimah so much, they make me so happy, I'm always feeling so awesome after writing them. This chapter had me in my feelings so much , hehehe.

'Good eyes? Yes she does' (runs around the room screaminggg) , I definitely can not be the only one. King definitely has a soft spot for Jemimah and the reason is not Jeremiah. Yes or Yes?

And who else is loving the growing friendship between Vickie and Jemimah, they make me blush too. I like that they are growing a bond and even with Annabelle too, I'm blushing.

Comment, comment, comment, commenttttttt.
