III.Journey on continent

''Y/N, Watson, do you have a few days... maybe a week to spare? I would have to go in Europe eventually, and since Moriarty knows your connection with me, he may be harming you two'' Sherlock stated.

''I should be glad to come. I have nothing better to do, anyway'' you accepted.

''I will come as well. Mary is returning home next Monday and I have nothing to do until then'' Watson interjected.

''And to leave tomorrow morning?'' Sherlock asked.

''If necessary'' John nodded.

''Yes, it is most necessary'' Sherlock assured.

Y/N came in, ''And pray tell us, where exactly are we going?''

''Oh, anywhere'' Sherlock started,''It is all the same to me. Well, tomorrow morning at 7 sharp, I will be here to escort Miss Y/N to Baker street so she could pack her bags. As for Watson... you will dispatch whatever luggage you intend to take to a trusty messenger to Victoria tonight. In the morning, you will send for a hansom, and head to the strand of the Lowther Arcade, handing the address to the cab man, upon a slip of paper with the request that he will not throw it away. Have your fare ready, and the instant your cab stops, dash through the Arcade, timing yourself to reach the other side at quarter past nine. You will find a small brougham waiting close to the curve, driven by a fellow with a heavy black coat, tripped at the collar with red. You jump in the brougham and it will drive you to Victoria in time for Continental express'' Sherlock explained.

''Where shall I meet the two of you?'' Watson inquired.

''At the station. The second first class carriage will be reserved for us''Sherlock answered

"Alright" John nodded

''Fine. Then, I shall see you tomorrow at the station, ol' chap'' Sherlock said as he rose from his chair.

You and Watson led him outside in the backyard.

''Why don't you use the door instead of climbing over that wall?'' you asked, confused.

''If someone is following me, it is most obvious that they would be waiting outside, in the front of the house. This will be way easier for me to vanish, I have a cab waiting for me on Mortimer street'' Sherlock explained.

''Please, stay the night. You are in danger at the flat'' you pleaded him with big eyes.

''I can't, dear. I might be a dangerous guest. Please don't give me those eyes, I really can't stay'' Sherlock whined.

''Alright'' you sighed, ''Just promise me that you will be careful'' you say, taking his hand in yours and lightly squeezing it.

His hand was so cold and dry, so rough.

''I promise'' he whispered, raising your hand to his lips and placing a kiss upon your knuckles.

He climbed the wall that leads to Mortimer street and whistled for a cab.

THE NEXT MORNING.

In the morning, at 7 sharp, Sherlock was at Watson's door, waiting for you.

You rushed out of Watson's home and took a cab to Baker street.

When you arrived, he told you to take maximum 3 bags with you, and one of them to keep free.

You packed clothes and your needs for you in the first, clothes for Sherlock and John in the second and in the third, Sherlock has been placing some guns, bullets and a few more small sized guns.

After that, he laid a nun outfit on your bed and gave you a fake nose.

''My dear, we have to be in disguise. You have to ruin your beauty'' he said

''What do you mean?'' you asked confused.

It wasn't the first time Sherlock called you beautiful, but it still gave you goosebumps, and it still made your mind wander to some certain things.

''Well, for the costume. You have to look 20, maybe 30 years older. Meet me outside in 30 minutes'' he said and strolled out of your room.

You dressed in the outfit he gave you, you took the fake nose, and did the makeup, then took the bags and rushed on the hall.

When you arrived, you saw Sherlock dressed into an Italian priest, waiting for you at the bottom of the stairs. You had to look three times to make sure that it was him.

''Ready to go?'' he asked upon seeing you.

''Of course. Lead the way'' you smiled and he took the bags and the two of you jumped in a cab.

Watson's p.o.v

In the morning, as Holmes told me, I headed to Victoria train station. Everything went just as he planned, and I arrived at quarter past nine. My only source of anxiety was the non-appearance of Holmes and Y/N. The station clock marked only seven minutes until we had to leave. In vain I searched among the group of travelers and leave-takers for the figures of my friends.

There was no sign of them.

I spent a few minutes in assisting a venerable Italian priest and a nun, who were endeavoring to make a porter understand in their broken English that their luggage has to be booked to Paris.

Then, having taken another look around, I returned to my carriage, where I found that the porter, in spite of the ticket, have gave me my Italian friends as traveling companions.

I returned to my companions, as a chill of fear had come over me, as I thought that their absence might mean that something happened to the two of them.

Already the door have been shut and the train began to move, when---

Normal p.o.v

''My dear Watson, you didn't even say good morning'' Sherlock said when the train began to move.

Watson turned to you in uncontrollable astonishment.

In an instant, you and Sherlock took off your disguises and packed them, putting them into the bags.

Sherlock laughed and sat down.

''Good heavens! How you startled me!'' Watson exclaimed in relief.

''Every precaution is still necessary. I have reasons to believe they're hot upon our trail. Ah, there is Moriarty himself'' Sherlock said and pointed towards the window.

Glancing back, you saw a man pushing his way furiously through the crowd, and waving his hand as he wanted to stop the train.

It was too late, however, you were rapidly gaining momentum.

''With all our precautions, you see we have cut it rather fine'' Sherlock said

''Have you seen the morning paper, Watson?'' you asked.

''No. Why?'' Watson asked, confused.

''You haven't seen about Baker street, then?'' Sherlock continued your question.

''Baker street?'' Watson bit out astonished.

''They set fire to our rooms this morning, after we left. No big damage has been made, however'' Sherlock explained.

''Good heavens, Holmes! That's intolerable!'' Watson cried out in horror.
