Due to some confusion, I wanted to take a moment to explain the premise of this series before you begin to read.

This series is about Daryl's estranged daughter, Angel, and the journey she embarks on to find her place in a post-apocalyptic world. Along the way, she goes to Alexandria, finally meets her dad, and falls in love with Carl.

But Angel's life is not defined by her relationship with Carl and she does have a boyfriend before him - hence the slow-burn. She also has other crushes along the way, including crushes on older men (not illegal btw). Lastly Angel and Carl are both 19 years old. But, yes, I promise she does end up with Carl.
