001. ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐๐ก.
๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐, she thought to herself as she sat in the passenger side of her mothers light blue toned jeep, her brother sitting in the back seat. The wind blowing through the strands of her blonde silky hair, nothing could get more perfect then the drive to Cousins Beach.
Her mother had the radio cranked up with the windows rolled down, summer was always their favourite time of the year. It was when they went to the beach house, just the three of them. " what are you reading there darling? " the blonde in the driver seat had turned her head for a second to her young daughter in the passenger seat.
"Probably something stupid." Her brother muttered behind her, she reached back giving him a smack on the arm as much as she could before turning back to her book.
She had her eyes glued on the pages of her book, " just some book I found on the last day of school. " she chuckled slightly to herself before turning her gaze back over to the thin white pages with black ink, " you and your reading, don't think you'll ever grow apart from it. " her mother threw in a joke as the girl shook her head.
" can we stop at that gas station please, you know the one we normally stop at before going to the beach house? " she softly spoke, " of course. " her mother continued driving until she noticed the sign that read Cousins Beach.
"I cannot wait till I can get onto those waves out there." Callum rolled his window down as he stuck his head out the window, resting his chin on the door.
Jordyn had slammed her book shut placing it on the console next to her before sticking her head out the window as well, feeling the breeze on her face. " don't you just love this place mom?! " she excitedly shrieked before pulling her head back into the jeep. Her mom sat there smiling as she turned into the gas station parking lot.
"Hey now, I love this place too. I exist hello!?" Callum opened the door as he stepped out seeing his sister with her arms crossed over her chest, "what? Do I got something on my face." He began patting his face.
"No, why are you coming in?" Jordyn looked back at her mom, "I want stuff too." Callum had a smirk on his face, "oh come on, let your brother go in with you." Their mother smiled. "Fine." Callum had a wink before walking into the gas station.
" okay be quick. " she demanded as she handed Jordyn a credit card, " but aren't you coming in? โyou always come in with me mom. " a confused look plastered over her face, " not this time, it's time I let you be more independent, and besides you got Cal in there with you. "
Jordyn sighed as she took the credit card from her mom and closed the car door behind her, she took a deep breath as she went to open the gas station door when two girls opened the door. A women and a girl that seemed to be Jordyn's age, " oh my, I'm so sorry! " the younger girl spoke as she nearly swung the door in Jordyn's face.
" no worries! " she spoke in a hurry as she brushed her way past them nodding her head, Jordyn pushed her hair behind her ear as she began walking down the isles not knowing where Cal could have gone. " Hey. " she heard a voice beam from behind her as she twisted her gaze to the boy behind the counter.
" umโ Hi. " she spoke aloud as she didn't wanna have to repeat herself to the boy behind the counter, he stared at her with his eyebrows furrowed as if he was admiring her. She ignored it as she changed her view over to the cold drinks, grabbing a Dr Pepper as she grabs a bag of sour patch kids to go with it.
" that will be all. " Jordyn talked placing the two items on the front counter, he scanned them but kept glancing at the girl as he checked the price. " are you new here? " he finally questioned.
Jordyn turned her head around thinking there was another person before realizing he was definitely talking to her, " uhh, no? " confused she reached into her back pocket pulling out the credit card her mother gave her.
" why have I never seen you around before tho. " you have seen me around beforeโ she thought to herself as she placed the credit card on the counter, " I don't knowโI've come here every summer since I was a little girl. " that made the boy laugh.
" I'm pretty sure I would have noticed a pretty girl like you. " he had a smile on his face.
" thank you. " Jordyn replied as he handed her the Dr Pepper and sour patch kids. " coming to the bonfire tonight? " he threw in, " first of the season. " he sounded happy asking her.
" ya never know! " Jordyn grew a little more comfortable talking now that she's been standing there for more then four minutes, " come. I'll introduce you to some of my friends. " he sounded quite desperate for her to go.
"Bonfire, sounds like fun." Callum appeared next to her as he placed a Mountain Dew on the front counter along with a pack of beef jerky, "Callum, I didn't know this was yourโ" he paused, "twin sister." Callum nodded as he handed the boy his credit card."
"She's not gonna be there, I will be tho." He smiled reaching his hand out as Jumper looked confused tilting his head, "she doesn't do the whole "party" things." Callum turned before walking out the door, the blonde girl still standing there.
"Darn, that's a bummer for sure." Jumper looked back at the blonde girl that still stood in front of him, her jaw dropped practically to the floor as she watched her brother leave the store.
"Ignore him, I'll totally be there for sure!" Jordyn smiled as the door flew opened and the chime went off, "โnow what's taking so long? " the older blonde women looked over as the boy behind the counter made eye contact with her. " Jumper, are you messing with my daughter? " she joked as she reached her hand out, "โand I'll be taking that. "
" of course not Whitney. " Jumper sounded startled as he didn't hesitate to hand the women the credit card that sat in his hand still, " let's get going! " Whitney jumped up and down before stopping as Jordyn looked embarrassed.
Whitney opened the door as Jordyn was about to leave when Jumper quickly spoke, " I'll see you and your brother later. " he had that same smile he did the second Jordyn stepped foot into the gas station. " what's later? " Whitney's eyes widened as Jordyn pushed past her out the door. " nothing. "
It was this moment, the moment that happened every year for seven summers. Jordyn had her window rolled down as they drove down the road, the smell of flowers made her smile. Her smile faded once again tho when they passed the Fishers beach house, she noticed the brunette boy she noticed every summer. Tall, muscular and had a perfect smile.
"And she's checking out the one and only, Conrad Fisher once again." Callum teased.ย "Oh shut up already Cal!" Jordyn crossed her arms over her chest as she made a sigh, "and no I'm not." She looked back out the window.
But he was always with her, the girl she ran into at the gas station with the older women. Two other boys were always there as well, along with the older women and another older women.
All she could ever do tho was just watch from afar, there was no way she could ever just hop out of the car or walk out of her beach house and go down the road to introduce herself to him.
It's like she had a crush on him without even talking to him, his looks already had her so pulled in.
Jordyn felt a sudden tap on her shoulder when she blinked and realized she was in the driveway of her beach house already, " daydreaming over there or what. " Whitney had a laugh as she was already opening the car door to leave.
Callum was already out the door opening the trunk as he threw a duffle bag over his shoulder, grabbing another duffle bag as he did so.
Jordyn turned as she grabbed her book off the console and opened the car door, closing it behind her as the blonde boy threw a light grey duffle bag at her. Catching it she smiled at him before turning around.
" go get set up. " her mother smiled as she wrapped her arm around her daughter, the two of them walking towards the front steps together. Callum following shortly behind them, his eyes glued to his phone. " this is gonna be a good summer. " Jordyn smiled.
"Yes it will be, if your brother gets off that darn phone." Whitney turned around a glare plastered over her face as she stared at him, "ahem!" Callum looked up before laughing awkwardly, "sorry mama." He slid his phone into his back pocket before running ahead of the girls, opening the door as he stepped aside.
"After you." He gestured as the girls smiled before walking past him into the house.
The house was perfect as usual. The maid was there already making the house tidy and pretty like it normally is, ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ the smell of the flowers that were placed on the side tables.
The breeze that came through the kitchen windows, the sunlight sprawled perfectly across Jordyn's skin showing off her freckles. Whitney was already in the living room fiddling around with plants, Jordyn turned her head to the back door attaching her hand to the handle. She turned it, opening the door she took a step outside placing her duffel bag on the ground behind her.
She didn't go far as she looked at the deck that ran across the water to a sitting area, a boat sat beside it. She felt a lump in her throat as she swallowed it back, the boat was a gift from her father she got last year as a " I'm sorry for not being apart of your life here's a boat to make up for it. "
She suddenly felt the palm of a hand place on her shoulder, turning her gaze over to see Callum standing next to her. He was also staring at the boat himself, "you think he's gonna man up and show up this year?" Callum had a soft tone in his voice as he spoke, "I call bullshit if he does." Jordyn grumbled looking back at the boat.
It made her furious every time she looked at it, only reason to why she ever would go on the boat is to use it as a reading spot. Which she does, she finds it peaceful sitting on a boat just floating with a drink and a book in hand.
Jordyn picked her duffel bag back up "I'm gonna start un packing, you wanna go surfing after?" She nibbled her bottom lip, "now why would I not agree to surfing." Callum smiled before turning around allowing his sister to go ahead of him, and headed back inside the house closing the door behind him as he did, Jordyn made her way up the stairs and down the hall where she made a left turn into a bedroom.
She felt feelings of joy as she stared at the room in front of her, it was a light turquoise and had white beams on each corner. Her bed was neatly made in the centre and she had a vanity along with a dresser and a walk in wardrobe, she had her own TV that sat on top of the dresser in front of her bed.
Placing the duffel bag on the bed in front of her she thought about that bonfire Jumper invited her to, she didn't think her mom would mind since her moms always been asking her to go out more and meet new people.
So Jordyn actually considered it.
Before she did anything else tho she pulled out her pink bikini top and bottom before sliding her short white summer dress down her body, sliding the top on and the bottoms on.
"Cal!" She yelled grabbing her towel and her surf board that sat next to her bedroom door, "let's go buddy!" She walked over to his bedroom door seeing Cal on the phone with someone.
"We'll try and go?" Callum turned his head seeing his sister leaning against his door frame with a smile on his face, "I gotta go, I'll maybe see you later? Okay bye." He had the biggest smile on his face, "who was that?" She was curious, he was never happy when on the phone before.
"Just a girl." He nodded his head before grabbing his swim shorts, "ooo, Cals got a crush." Jordyn laid down on her stomach her face in the palms of her hands as she stared at her brother.
"Yeah, get out I need to change." Callum pointed to the door, "now!". "Okay, okay." Jordyn got up as she grabbed her surf board and towel and booked it down the stairs.
She stood on her back deck before her brother walked outside, she noticed some people on the beach but she couldn't tell who they were. "Jeremiah and Belly." Callum stood staring at them, "oh." Jordyn picked her board up.
"Race ya there!" She screamed as the two blondes booked it past their pool and down the sandy beach before dropping their towels, flying into the water with their boards as they did.
The blonde girl turned her shower off as she stepped out reaching for her towel before wrapping it around her figure, Jordyn had finally decided she was gonna go to the bonfire to see Jumper but also in hopes Conrad would be there.
She walked out her bathroom before quickly drying the rest of her body, checking the time as she did so. She could already hear Callum closing his bedroom door before walking down the hall.
"See you later mama!" He yelled, "be safe Cal, make good choices!" She could hear her mother yell back before the front door closed.
Jordyn had put on a pair of Jean shorts that had ripped at the bottoms of them, along with a blue tang top that was a bit tight on her. She then threw on a light blue open up button shirt that she left unbuttoned.
She brushed her hair quickly as she applied a few layers of mascara to her lashes, " going somewhere? " her mother walked in as she took a seat on the bed behind her. " just a bonfire. " Jordyn shrugged her shoulders, " be careful sweet pea. " Whitney gave her daughter a hug from behind as she was still finishing up her make up.
" I will mom. " she softly spoke as she began getting up, " if you need meโdon't hesitate to call me. " Jordyn looked back, " I won't. " as she headed out her bedroom door and down the stairs.
It didn't take Jordyn long before she reached the bonfire, she had brown Birkenstocks on so it was a bit tricky to walk on the sand. She nearly stumbled a few times, Jordyn was about to turn around and leave when she heard the familiar voice.
" Yo, gas station girl. " it was Jumper and he had a drink in his hand, he was more dressed up then he was at the gas station. She crossed her arms over her chest as she felt a bit exposed from how tight her top was on her. " Hey. Where you coming from? " he seemed like he had a bit to drink but she wasn't too sure.
So Jordyn made up something quick, " just uh, a-friends house. " she licked her lip as she awkwardly laughed. " Sweet. Yeah. Hey. Here, take my beer. " he reached the bottle out as Jordyn was about to decline but she was too much of a people pleaser to say no.
" fuck it. " she spoke as she grabbed the beer from him, she began taking a sip out of it before Jumper randomly grabbed it back from her. " so uhโyou got a boyfriend back home. " yeah actually I do. " she scratched the back of her head.
" shit. Where is he? " Jordyn felt her heart beating really fast as she scanned around the beach to find someone to pretend to be her boyfriend. " oh him! " she pointed to this guy who had shorts on, curly hair and a grey zip up.
Right as she pointed at him she recognized who the guy was, "Cam?!" She yelled. The boy turned around, "Jord?!" He yelled back, quickly the girl ran past Jumper as Cam opened his arms for the girl to jump up into, wrapping his arms around her as he swayed her around.
"Wait, wait. You came here with Jumper?" Cam put the girl down, "not exactly, but he invited me here!" Jordyn smiled pointing for Jumper to walk over, the guy walked over as he handed Jordyn his beer again before this time wrapping his arm around her.
She ignored her as she smiled at Cam again who had his eyes widened, "what?" She asked him. "Jumper you do realize she is jail bait for you, right?" Cam stated as Jumper slowly pulled his hands away from the girl.
"How old are you?" He asked looking scared, "umโ I'm 16." She stated, "oh shit, um yeah I gotta go now." Jumper turned around walking down the beach, "well good to know." Jordyn laughed as she still had the beer in her hand.
"Since when do you drink?" Cam pointed out the fact she was holding a beer bottle in her hand, "since today I guess." She smiled bringing the bottle up to her lips, drinking it.
Suddenly the bottle was smacked out of her hand and beer spilled all over her chest, "what the fuck, Cal!" She stepped back looking up at her brother who had a pissed off face. " what are you doing here?!" Callum took a step back, "mom said I could be here!" She yelled back.
"Really, was mom okay with you having your breasts practically out?!" Callum stated, "and with you drinking?" He had his arms crossed over her chest, "Cal, it's really not a big deal man." Cam cut in, "oh shut up, Cam! " Callum cut him off. "You know how many guys are here that are gonna think differently, like you seen Jumper over here with her Cam."ย The boy had his hands placed on his shoulders.
"Your drunk man, I can smell it on your breath." Cam placed his hands on the guys shoulder before turning his body away, "you better keep watching her Cam, or I swear I will come find you!" Callum pointed at Cams chest as the boy nodded, the girl watched as her brother made his way over to a group of girls. One of the girls being Belly Conklin.
"What was that about?" Belly asked as the blonde boy made his way back over before putting his arm around the girl, "my sister." He nodded his head as he reached for another beer, he felt a smack on his hand as he backed away. "You shouldn't be drinking anymore, you are already drunk enough!" Belly looked around almost slightly embarrassed of him.
Suddenly a boy with curly hair made his way over along with Steven Conklin, it was Jeremiah Fisher that stood next to the guy once he recognized him. "Get your hands off my sister Maddox." Steven spoke calling the boy by his last name.
"Steven, really." Belly tilted her head, "what are you doing here?" Her brother asked, "I invited her." Callum had his usual cocky voice when he was drunk as he reached his hand out, "I'm not shaking your hand man." Steven stated.
"My bad." Callum smiled adding a laugh as he let go of Belly, "I'm gonna go find some other people, maybe this was a bad idea." Callum walked away as he could faintly hear Belly call out, "wait, Cal."
Jordyn has had a couple beers at this point as she was wondering around the beach, Cam was no where in sight as he had completely lost the blonde girl.
Stumbling over as she tried to walk perfectly, she felt her stomach was aching and hurting and she felt like she had to puke but she ignored it.
"Cam, where's my sister?" Callum walked back over as Cam turned around, "good question." Cam scratched the back of his head, "I have no clue at all." He smiled awkwardly.
At this point Jordyn had turned around and began walking back to the party, unaware of anything that was happening.
She suddenly noticed the boy she was hoping to see, the tall boy with the brown fluffy hair, he had a red sweater on along with some flip flops and black shorts.
But then suddenly she felt her heart fall down into her stomach when she saw he was sitting on the ground making out with some other girl. The blonde girl stopped as she just stood there face stunned still staring at them.
Suddenly the girl pulled away feeling eyes on her as Jordyn quickly turned around, "do you need something?" A soft voice spoke behind her, annoyed Jordyn closed her eyes for a moment before turning back around.
"No, no I do not thank you tho!" She raised her hand before nodding her head trying to hold back a lump that was forming in her throat, it's not like she could be upset at the girl. Not even Conrad, it's not like he belongs to her.
She's only loved him for like 7 summers, but the boy doesn't even know she exists. The two on the ground were still staring at her admiring her almost, "I'm just gonna go now." Jordyn turned around almost falling as she did, "hey, hold on wait a second!" the girl felt butterflies when she heard his voice finally.
She walked a few more steps away before deciding to turn around, "what." She muttered, her arms over her chest. "Aren't you Callum's sister?" Conrad had a smile on his face, she could smell the beer on his breath as he spoke to her.
"I guess so." She felt a smile forming on her face, "you guess so as in, yes I am Callum's sister or no I'm not?" He questioned a puzzled look on his face as the girl thought about it, "yes I am, why does that matter anyways." Confused she let her arms fall down the sides of her body now.
"Well I'm pretty good friends with him, blondie." He had a laugh that came after as he looked back at the girl on the ground, "Conrad, come on." She spoke as she started getting up, he looked at her nodding his head as in for her to walk away.
She sighed and shrugged her shoulders as she did so, leaving Jordyn and Conrad alone for a bit. Jordyn felt a uneasy feeling in her stomach as soon as the girl went away, it wasn't the butterflies it felt more like sickness.
She placed her hand on her stomach in hopes for it to stop as she didn't want it to ruin her moment with Conrad finally, "So, why have I never seen you before?" He spoke, noticing the girl seemed a little off. "I'm never out of the beach house and well Cal is normally out. " she laughed away her stomach pain.
"Are you okay?" He asked finally reading her expressions that something was definitely off, "umโ yeah totally. " she began wiping her forehead, "I just feel a little hot." That's when she realized what was about to happen.
Fuck fuck fuck she thought to herself, this couldn't be happening. As she tried to hold back as Conrad leaned forward with his arm to place it on her side to try and keep her straight she suddenly fell forward.
"Jordyn?!" He was about to squat down when suddenly the blonde girl lost control and puke spilled out of her mouth onto the top of the boys shoes. Stupid alcohol!
She could hear laughing from next to them at first Conrad was disgusted and was about to walk off, but he looked over seeing Jumper was the one laughing at her. "Holy crap, thank God I wasn't the one still sticking around you!" He was clapping his hands.
Jordyn sat up still sitting on the ground she took her buttoned up shirt off before wiping her mouth with it, staring down at the ground as she hugged her knees. She felt tears forming in her eyes as she tried her best not to cry.
That was until of course more people came and started laughing, then the real tears started falling. Conrad grabbed the beer out of Jumpers hand as he looked around at everyone shaking his head, he took a sip out of it not realizing the girl was crying her eyes out yet.
"Hey give me my beer back!" Jumper reached out, the boy shook his head before shaking his head. "Not until you apologize to her!" Conrad turned around noticing the girls face buried in her knees.
"Jordyn?!" He spoke before suddenly feeling a fist to the face making him fall on the ground, "Conrad?" Jordyn looked up seeing the boy on the ground. He got up, "this is my beer!" Conrad yelled before shoving the boy back.
"Conrad, you've had enough let's just go!" that same girl came back, "yeah listen to your women." Jumper spoke. The fight continued on as Jordyn covered her ears, suddenly feeling hands place on her knees after a while.
It was Conrad.
Callum was standing behind him arguing with Jumper as the boy checked on her, "these shoes were kinda trash anyways." He smiled as he noticed he made the girl smile, "don't cry tho." He stood up as he reached his hand out, Jordyn got up before she felt his arms wrap around her.
Lifting her up just as the sirens blasted, "COPS!!" was all that was heard as Conrad carried Jordyn towards the red jeep, he was stumbling himself as he was drunk.
"um, what about your girlfriend?" Jordyn panicked as she looked around, "you mean Nicole?" He asked seeing the girl nod her head, "she went home." He nodded.
"Cal?" Belly stood at the red jeep with Cam standing next to her, she looked almost confused as she waved at Cameron as in a way for him to leave. "Cya guys!" Cameron smiled before taking a second glance at the blonde girl.
"What are they doing here?" Jeremiah was sitting behind the wheel, "she's drunk and he might also be drunk." The brunette boy tilted his head before Jeremiah sighed, "whatever fine."
"He's also drunk." Jordyn had a giggle as she was in fact not in the right head set, "mhm." the boy holding her slowly placed her into the car. Cal followed behind her as he sat down, Belly sat in he front next to Jeremiah as she looked back at Cal in the front mirror.
He didn't look at her tho, he wanted to but he didn't.
Conrad closed the door before he walked around and sat next to Cal, "be quick Jeremiah, my heads about to explode." Conrad complained, "okay I'm going!"
Jordyn stepped out of the jeep as her brother followed behind her, she walked around to the driver side as she rested her arms on the window, "thank you, so so sorry." She smiled before walking away as Jeremiah couldn't help but laugh at the girl watching her walk away.
Callum looked at Belly from the passenger seat before giving her a nod and a smile, "see you Cal." She spoke, the boy waved before following his sister back into the house.
Luckily as the two walked in Whitney was sound asleep on the couch, "quickly run to your room." Callum pointed. Jordyn did as so as she stumbled up the stairs until she threw herself onto her bed, "Cal! Help me please!!" She yelled.
Moments later Callum appeared at her door with a cup of water in one hand and a cup of apple juice in the other, placing it on her end table. He grabbed the girls trash can moving it over to the bed side, "this is for puking in." He explained.
"I think I know that." She smiled, he laughed shaking his head "yeah well who knows what you know right now." He moved his sisters hair back out of her face, "sit up" she sat up, "move back" she did as told before Cal put her blanket on her as she laid down.
"Thank you Cal, goodnight."
