Shinsei is a young man, he is rather tall being slightly shorter than Leraunt but taller than Ella and Cecelia.

Despite his rather thin build up but possesses very strong physical prowess and muscles underneath his clothes, he has very soft facial expressions which seem calm and relaxed most of the time but as time in series passes, his melted and mouth start to become typically more furrowed. He has light brown hair that is in soft curls but keeps it neat when he is at school or on formal occasions and big forest green eyes.

In the beginning of the storyline, Shinsei is still very thin looking which can make people underestimate his strength, however as the storyline goes along, he starts to gain toned muscles after training more at U.A. High School. As the series progresses as well, he gains more scars from training and fights against villains as well.

During the events of Season One and further as her life as a student in U.A., Shinsei wears the standard U.A. boys uniform which consists of a light gray blazer with dark turquoise trimmings over a white dress shirt and dress pants, along with a red tie and instead of the plain brown shoes worn by the majority of the student body, he often wears athletic sneakers. For his uniform, he often adds a black or white tank top or plain t-shirts underneath is shirt.

For his hair, Shinsei keeps it in his usual style but often keeps it neat in class.

For decoration, Shinsei will sometimes add a small piece of jewelry or small accessories but often hides them at school and takes them off during P.E. or Hero Training.

During the events of Season One and further as his life as a student in U.A. during physical education, the sports festival and other events, Shinsei wears the standard U.A. P.E. which consists of dark blue pants with white vertical lines going up the legs and a dark blue short sleeve shirt with white lines that form the letters 'U' and 'A' and for the winter variation of the gym uniform the long-sleeved shirt with a higher color. Underneath his uniform, he either wears a plain white or plain black tank top or t-shirt and he wears black or white athletic sneakers.

For his hair, he doesn't keep it too neat but will straighten it out when he needs too.

With his uniform he keeps bottles of water for himself, Ella, Leraunt and Cecelia and he also keeps a packet of tissues for Ella's nosebleeds.

Shinsei's hero costume consists of a white regal suit with a long white dress shirt and white pants made of durable and stretchy material that cannot easily tear or be caught on fire, he wears a white long regal jacket with golden accents over his shirt connected with two gold chains on his upper body, he has a black color with golden designs and golden chains that connect from his collar to his shoulders on his long royal blue cloak with golden accents that reaches halfway to his calves. He wears elbow lengths black gloves with switches and buttons, connecting to his armor that allows him to shoot grappling hooks, spray knock out vapor, tranquillizing serum and more. He also keeps a helmet like mask for when he cannot activate his armor, which gives him high tech vision of advanced senses of sight, hearing and also acts as a mask that can proceed him from gases and airborne quirks.

For his hair, he keeps it in the same style for school.

For equipment, Shinsei keeps two light saber double edge sword on him in both pockets, one glowing a blue light used for defensive purposes to nullify quirks of his enemies in battle and the red light for offensive purposes to fully attack and hinder his opponent, as well as keeping a pistol gun in his pocket and holds a bigger first aid kit in his suit. He also keeps a bottle of water for himself and his teammates.

𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐋:

For normal days and casual outfits, Shinsei's style is a mix of soft grunge, dark academia, light academia and knightcore . He wears a different variation of shirts with long or short sleeves with sweaters, cardigans, hoodies along with pants, shorts and comfortable pants with dress shoes or other high brand and athletic sneakers. He has a soft yet dark color pallet of black, white, brown and beige but also adds colors like blue, green, yellow, silver and gold and sometimes adds small pieces of jewelry and accessories.

𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐋:

All formal events are categorized differently in each of her different styles depending on the events that is attending:

If he is with his friends going out to a fun place tonight to dance and party to change from his usual routine and lifestyle. He will wear his usual color variations of dark and soft colored clothes with more fun options meant for clubbing and dancing.

For dates with a girl or a guy or even Momo Yaoyorozu later on, depending on the time of day, season and theme of the date, he will still wear his usual color variations and style of clothing but he will put more effort in his appearance for the date and make himself look more elegant and neat, he will also wear small pieces of jewelry and accessories that suit his outfit as well.

For formal events, Shinsei will wear more formal attire of his usual style such as tuxedo's and suits that match his style and authentic style, as well as shoes and small pieces of jewelry and accessories that will match and compliment his outfit, he will also style his hair in more neat and more refined styles.

For formal events, such as fancy parties and balls, celebrations and such, Shinsei will wear much fancier and elegant variations of his clothes to make himself appear fancier, refined and professional. He has his hair styled neatly and he sometimes adds some pieces of jewelry and accessories too if it will look good with the outfit.

𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆:

Whether he is doing combat training with Cassandra, his friends at home and U.A., against his teachers or training at his internship, Shinsei wears more comfortable and sport variations of clothing in his style of clothing choice with tank tops or t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, sneakers or even in his U.A. P.E. uniform with his colors ranging in his usual black and darker colors.

𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄:

On the days off where he is able to take it easy and mock back, being in the comfort of his home in the dorms, Shinsei either wears a tank top or t-shirt with comfortable pants or shorts with comfortable shoes or hoodies.

During the night time, Shinsei wears his style of sleepwear and pajamas being either a matching set or separate pieces of old clothing or hoodies.

For jewelry, Shinsei has a variety of silver and gold jewelry that is kept simple and accessible such as small necklaces with spikes or earrings with small pendants, etc.

According to Leraunt, Cassandra, Cecelia and a few others, after the death of his mother and after the arrival of the Le Beau and Vaillant siblings (plus Cecelia), Shinsei was somewhat selfish, rarely putting others before himself. He was very bitter and angry, also rather acting in a bratty manner when he first met Leraunt, beating him up and bullying him often. He often got into fights and arguments with his father (despite loving and respecting him) and also Leraunt and Cecelia as well, but most of the time he spent alone due to his explosive anger that was unacknowledged or considered by his father.

After his father's death, Shinsei went into grieving again after losing his mother by saving the life of another person despite being quirkless, made him bitter and angry. While he and his father loved each other, his father was a pro hero and often too busy for his own son and often ignored and diminished his anger, while Shinsei argued with him and the two would sometimes jab hurtful words at each other in their arguments, leaving them only in silence. Shinsei deeply regretted his words and actions towards his father and Leraunt, he would instead help Cassandra out with becoming a pro hero in Japan and dedicate his cause and future as a pro hero to help the innocent and stop pointless killings, eventually holding a more positive outlook on being a pro hero as he hearing about Cassandra's bravery and courage that helped her with escaping with her siblings from their abusive tyrannical father and witnessing it as well watching her as a pro hero.

Shinsei became kinder, more attentive, friendly and sociable person as he stayed with the siblings, eventually getting to know them better as people and apologizing for his horrible actions and words, amending himself slowly in anyway he can. He learnt about the siblings past and what happened, he understood their situation better and realizing his arrogance, selfishness, his selfishness and lack of responsibility as the person he was before was because he was shielding his heart from the grief he didn't allow himself to feel when his mother passed away and his father despite loving him dearly, made awful mistakes in the process and they could not reconcile after his death. Shinsei also wished to take responsibility for his actions, and his ultimate goal was to atone for not being a good son to his father and for not being what the son his mother wanted him to be.

Shinsei dedicated himself a righteous, brave and selfless hero with a strong sense of justice and responsibility; who wants to be a person who can be depended as a heroic and humanitarian service to society. Shinsei holds a strong sense of loyalty to his friends, those he holds close too and admires, he often never questions his superiors but, despite that, he has shown to be willing to stab them in the back if necessary. Sometimes however, there are times when his sense of responsibility can be almost overbearing, this combined with his strong moral compass in the face of adversity and sharp wit makes him, what most pro heroes say, an enduring and strong-minded person.

Shinsei has been defined many times in the story by his courage, patriotism, and righteousness. Despite not being the best person as a child, he has always had a noble and honesty spirit, but as he grew up he showed more intolerance towards injustice and abuses of power. Since he watched his father and Cassandra again in battle with the siblings, he learned on his own that true strength is having the courage to fight against abuse, no matter one's power, and having compassion for the innocent. Shinsei is generally respected by many around him, even if he never seeks out acknowledgment from others. Thanks to spending time with Ella and the other siblings, he has become more empathetic towards others and even if their situation.

Often what makes Shinsei who he is his two strongest traits, his humanity and his morality, being what makes him a good pro hero in the making, as commented by many pro heroes themselves. Just like his father Minato Kiryu, who was once known as The Knight Hero: Chevaliere, Shinsei is an extremely dedicated person. Even in the grimmest and most haunting of situations, Shinsej always finds the courage to defend the weak and innocent, and does not hesitate to stand up to corrupt politicians, pro heroes and leaders of any kind, hypocritical authority figures, powerful beings of any kind. His determination also admits him, giving him a boost in physical power to allow him to hold off beings of much greater strength, with this even allowing him to survive against the most powerful enemies. A true hero, Shinsei is more than willing to sacrifice himself to protect others and does not care if he is considered the villain in his heroic job, as his desire to protect the innocent remained as strong as ever, even after he was deemed a criminal. The true extent of his determination and selfless heroism was fully throughout the storyline many times, inspiring others often with his words and his actions that follow afterwards.

Shinsei is not afraid to do what's right for the greater good and make the tough choices, even if it might be costly to him personally, even when the safety of his friends or loved ones is threatened, he is willing to disobey his superiors orders and is willing to rescue them, even if it's a suicide mission. As hero in training and understanding of the world of heroes, Shinsei knows full well that war has its casualties and some of his dearest friends, or even himself, may need to make the ultimate sacrifice. He was willing to justify violence and killing to defend others and to preserve peace and freedom, even if he has to kill villains themselves that he deems evil. He considers most villains to be immortal individuals who were only focused on results and cared nothing for innocent lives. He wants to continue honoring his fathers and his mothers legacy as a hero and a civilian, so he can change the world of superheroes from the inside out and can give peace and reassurance to others.

After the events of a few events, Shinsei starts to have a hard time acknowledging the past and current actions of some of his own classmates, teachers, villains and even other pro heroes. The struggle is shown a few times throughout the story and eventually during this time, Shinsei's personality started to harden and seemed willing to use more underhanded tactics, but he will discard if it he knows it will hurt them more than do any good. Shinsei started to become more willing to kill or heavily injure anyone who was standing in his way after the events of later seasons and is willing to sacrifice the lives of villains if he needs too. However as Ella helps him, she understands that in his true nature, he hates the world and wants to destroy it with the darkness within him. However, after certain events within the story, Shinsei's view of the world started to change and he knew he could not change the world with his anger and violent tendencies that disguised themselves as justified chivalrous nature.

Shinsei's uncompromising sense of morality and selflessness often puts him at odds with some of his classmates and other pro heroes, which can lead to moments of bickering, arguments and almost physical fights over matters of their jobs as heroes. Shinsei has a strong dislike for agencies and groups that express control over the individual, as he's seen what it had done to Cassandra, Ella, Leraunt, Noelle and Rolland. Nevertheless, Shinsei as himself and as Lancelot will always prioritize the safety of innocents. His heroism and determination to what he believes is morally right, no matter the personal cost, has helped many others in the series and he admits that he is this way because of his love for Ella, even if it is unrequited in the end he appreciates showing him with her siblings what it means to be a true hero and in the end, he also becomes a hero for Momo Yaoyorozu, who has already fallen for him. He shows disapproval of sacrificing others to achieve victory should other options remain available; after his views had changed and reuses to let anyone sacrificing themselves unnecessarily in battle. He knows when to retreat when the enemy is too powerful for himself and his allies as well in battle, as he prioritizes the safety of the innocent and his comrades in battle more than personal victory.

Shinsei does have a darker side, however, noting how Shinsei is actually using his anger to propel himself forward in the world of heroes because the world took away not only his father and mother, but also how the father, Chandler Ziegenbein, of Ella and Leraunt had done to them during the events of season three. Despite his confident and chivalrous personality, Shinsei is truly a wounded soul who wants to save his friends from the suffering they endured and makes sure that no one will have to go through what he went through in the events of the series, he is scared of confronting what he has lost and is scared that no one will need him anymore, that everyone he loves is gone and he is alone. Overall, Shinsei is a selfless person but one with a notable blind spot, his friends and loved ones the last people he sees as his family after losing both of his parents, as he willing to great lengths to protect them even if it costs him his future as a pro hero.

After the events of later seasons, this shows to have had a profound effect on Shinsei's optimism, causing him to take on a darker, yet somewhat grim persona, throughout the warfare and his ironic justice naive decisions that had him nearly losing his dearest ones and witnessed villains less or non-existent humanity that sullied the world he once knew covering their hands with blood of the innocent, Shinsei knew what he needed to do to fulfill his role as a hero. He strengthened his friendships with not only the siblings and Cecelia but also his classmates in class 1-A, expanding his perspective and understanding the violent corrupt cycle of superheroes and supervillains must be broken for a peaceful future. Leraunt and others describes him of powerful willpower, as he transforms Leraunt's Command power 'Live' on him positively into an energy boost. He shows a vicious dedication to the completion of the villains defeat, and takes the responsibility of being the "Knight" of Class 1-A and his father's successor. With this, that despite his frequent changes in character when facing grief, guilt and self-loathing throughout the series, he was a dedicated and loyal man who wanted peace.

Shinsei Kiryu was born into a wealthy Japanese family, his father was Minato Kiryu, a famous pro hero named the Sword Hero: Takemikazuchi and a Quirkless Korean woman Minsoo Han/Kiryu who worked as a CEO company worker and a normal office job worker. As a child, he was very close with his mother as his father was always a busy man and his mother always took the time out of day to spend time with him and understand him, which made her extremely fond of him. However, one day when a civilian was almost killed by a building collapsing on them and she ended up killed in the process, the news brought pain and grief to both Shinsei and his father, this however left Shinsei very bitter and angry and his father angry, this heavily strained their relationship. Shinsei became bratty and angry, often putting himself before others and being extremely selfish most of the time. He often reacted out in anger and sadness more than he wanted to admit.

One day, the family members of the Vaillant and Le Beau siblings moved into his home, as his father was a personal friend of Cassandra Le Beau and let her and her siblings stay there for the mean time as he understood their situation, and even helped Cassandra become a pro hero to support her family. At first he felt hatred towards the siblings as they were strangers and foreigners who moved into his home, but he truly despised Leraunt out of all of them. He truly believed that the foreign siblings were people who only cared about themselves and no one else, he often got physically violent with Leraunt and sometimes Cecelia as she often defended him from her violent and verbal attacks.

While Minato loved and cared for his son, he often made a lot of mistakes as a father that ended up hurting Shinsei more than helping their relationship and Shinsei's anger and selfishness also made their relationship worse, however as arguments got worse and worse in the household, Cassandra eventually sat Shinsei down and he allowed him to take his anger out in martial arts. This method helped a lot in the end as he stopped being violent and angry towards them but eventually started to understand the siblings better, even apologizing for his behavior.

Little did Shinsei know, Minato's health was declining rapidly and his career as a pro hero was in jeopardy but he pushed through, wanting to stay true to his word that he would die in battle as a hero instead of a coward in a comfortable bedstead. He died in battle after a fight against a very powerful villain, his health caving in against him, after receiving the news Shinsei cried for months all alone as he didn't want others to see him cry and vulnerable like this. He started to realize how his father loved him, but was also put through trauma from his strict and overwhelming military training his father tried to put him in several times but he refused because he wanted to play, however the guilt of arguing with his father before he died still stays with him until this day.

After the time being, Ella often came to visit him and talked with him, showing him acts of kindness as she knew he needed them and during this time, he apologized to Ella and her siblings again for his awful behavior, especially to Leraunt and they accepted him as part of the family, knowing his father wanted him to be taken care of by good people in his stead. As time passed, he came to know them better and he became best friends with Leraunt and as he grew up Leraunt's family and started to fall in love with Ella as well. While Shinsei still resents his father for leaving them, he loves him dearly even though their personalities and actions never agreed with each other, he knows his father did his best but still made mistakes that hurt Shinsei and Shinsei still wants to make things right with his father even in death.

In his third year of middle school alongside Cecelia Weiss, Shinsei got into the U.A. Hero Course Regular Entrance Exam to start following the legacy of his deceased father.

Thanks to his quirk armor, he has proven himself able to fight even the strongest opponents and has enhanced super speed, super strength and other accelerated physical abilities, even without his quirk his physical prowess is top notch. He possesses superior hand-eye coordination and has extensive military training in both firearms and hand-to-hand combat. Even receiving training from Cassandra Le Beau in martial arts and has spent most of his time getting stronger before and after the U.A. Entrance Exams. His physical prowess even without his quirk seems almost inhuman at times; even with speed that cannot be shot or attacked once in very first attacks. Despite being dyslexic and with help of Leraunt's tutoring, Shinsei has been shown to be very intelligent and has proven himself very capable in academics and other mentally challenging situations, even showing great tactical skills and more.

Shinsei's quirk Armor is a knight golden and white built, with Shinsei's body covered in golden titanium alloy parts that develop from the iron of his blood, meaning he needs high iron proficiency for his quirk to activate. This armor provides him superhuman strength, endurance, durability, and a variety of weapons. The armor was a powered exoskeleton with armored plating, capable of enhancing his  strength, speed, agility, and endurance. The armor was powered by a miniaturized Arc Reactor, either using the one surgically installed in Shinsei's chest or else built into the chest-piece of the armor itself to detect his human heart rate and help him when his health is low or is critically injured in battle. Later on in the series with his armor getting more upgrades from the support course, his armor has an onboard AI system and augmented reality display, later models of the armors helmet features a retractable visor that projected a holographic AR displays to Shinsei. With building and upgrading his armor, it has been provided the necessary power-to-weight ratio coupled with the ability to resist icing at high altitudes.

To summon his armor, it comes from all parts of his body and then covers all of him, being a span of five seconds, the armor even adjusts to Shinsei's size as he grows throughout the series fitting his weight and muscles. Shinsei frequently improved the technology put into his armors, giving them upgrades for battles and to perfect the onboard systems. However, his armor takes energy out of his body and sometimes his armor is not invincible to all enemy attacks such as Tomura Shigaraki's Decay and more.

The armor as well also has remote assistance from an AI built by Leraunt known as M.I.N.S.O.O. In later seasons, who manages the armor's system at Shinsei's command, and the armor also has a holographic HUD with heads-up displays for navigation, power level, armor status, weapons systems, vital signs with cellphone and computer connections in the helmet, and a built-in loudspeaker. The scanner systems are capable of scanning the environment, weather conditions, and equipment for information. The armor is also able to absorb and convert energy sources, such as heat, kinetic energy or energy from the planet itself into electricity, directly into the batteries for recharge. This allows him to charge his armor up higher than capacity and deliver a stronger counterattack. The armor could be completely sealed for operations in vacuum or underwater, providing its own life support. It was also shielded against radiation. The Heads Up Display of the Armor was powered by M.I.N.S.O.O., Leraunt's artificial intelligence. The Armor also has Defensive and Offensive sections, able to switch around the sections, resorting to missiles and lasers for later seasons. The HUD could scan people, missile identifications, make calls, use a GPS, and give crucial suit credentials such as power. Thanks to the new repulsor flight system, as well as the magnetic implants embedded in Shinsei's forearms, individual pieces of later armors could self-assemble. Shinsei can also summon small circular thrusters that could open up and attach to a surface to aid others in difficult situations. Shinsei could launch two disc-like projectiles consecutively with retractable metal fibers that could form a powered clamp to bind enemies. In later developments of his armor, it holds the ability to analyze people's specific fighting patterns, and in turn, find a counter to said fighting style.

• Superhuman Strength:

When inside the armor, Shinsei's physical strength was amplified, allowing him to lift great amounts of weight. He can lift objects heavier than 900 points, even sending grown men flying with his strikes, break down metal doors and punch through stone and concrete, as well as lifting tanks and cars.

• Superhuman Durability:

The armor that his body summons is made up of a strong lightweight Titanium Alloy, with interlocked plates for the shell and a chest plate protecting the arc reactor. It is able to withstand tremendous amounts of punishment. The armor has shown itself able to  withstand tank shells exploded in close proximity to Shinsei, and a resulting fall from several thousand feet up, followed by hits by twenty millimeter enemy hits with only minimal cosmetic damage. It is able to survive a full-on fight and having several cars dropped on top of him from enemies, all of which resulted in taking relatively minor damage. Most of all, it protected Shinsei from the effects of extreme g-force. It even allows him to withstand some of powerful enemy attack.

• Superhuman Speed:

Shinsei's armor allows him to reach immense speeds. In season three, he can fly at 1,500 miles per hour, he is able to keep up with Tenya Iida his fastest classmate. While he improved his armor, his speed improved. He could move so fast that the wind that his suit generated was powerful enough to move a parked car. He is able to fly in locations very fast, less than 24 hours in extreme emergencies. His top speed in later speeds becomes greater than Mach 5, then with his enhanced jet boots created by the support class he could theoretically reach Mach 8.

• Superhuman Agility:

Shinsei can use his increased agility very well in battle. He is able to spin many attacks from enemies while attacking them as well, and can dodge many attacks on the ground and in the air.

• Superhuman Stamina:

With or without his armor, Shinsei possesses superhuman stamina. He can fight in battle for more time than some of his classmates, showing little to no signs of fatigue during battle.

• Superhuman Reflexes:

Without or without his armor, Shinsei also has superhuman reflexes but with his armor nonetheless possesses motors for movement, and they are extremely fast and responsive both in flight and during combat, even against physically enhanced opponents. The armor's coordination and dexterity allowed Shinsei to easily maneuver themselves and change directions with great ease during flight.

• Flight:

One of the armor's most important features is in the season 3, is its propulsion system and subsequent ability of flight. The armor could reach speeds as high as Mach 3 in moments in later seasons. It also has variable control surfaces for active flight control by M.I.N.S.O.O. to automatically stabilize the armor in flight. The armor is able to fly at speeds more than fifteen hundred miles per hour. However, the armor showed it could fly at supersonic speeds at the drop of a hat during its later development. By the time of the before season six, Shinsei armor's flight system was improved with additional boosters on the back. It enabled the armor to quickly evade enemy attacks, go faster, and also the ability to better maneuver himself and shoot while in flight; due to the fact that he didn't have to use his hands to keep himself stabilized all the time.
