TWELVE
It had been a few days after Pandora had taken part in the Seven Wonders test, with Michael, and unfortunately for her, it was time to leave the Hawthorn School for Exceptional Young Men and go back to Miss Robichaux's Academy, back in New Orleans. For some reason, Pandora almost couldn't bear leaving the place, it had become a second home practically, with Robichaux's being her first.
The ducky haired girl was stood in 'her' room at Hawthorn, hands linked to another's. Michael's. "I hope to see you soon, Dora," Michael whispered as he leaned his forehead against Pandora's.
Pandora wistfully smiled as she closed her eyes at the pressure. The young witch squeezed the warlock's hands and sighed. "I'm sure our paths will cross again, dear, if not I'll make them," Pandora quietly laughed to lighten the miserable mood. Thankfully, the blonde boy chuckled under his breath and squeezed her hands back.
"I don't doubt you on that," Michael muttered. With every sentence spoke between the two, they grew closer and closer until their noses brushed each other's cheek.
"May I kiss you, Dora?"
Pandora smiled gently before nodding softly. Michael reciprocated the smile and moved his lips to hover even more over Pandora's mouth. They both closed their eyes as Michael pressed his lips against Pandora's, moving them in sync. It was only a short kiss, but it was enough for them to wait for each other.
The girl smiled once they had separated. The girl, for once, was rendered speechless as she began to blush and stared down at their entangled hands.
Michael used one of his slim fingers to slip under Pandora's chin and tilt her head back to look at him. "I know we haven't known each other that long, but there's something about you that I can't resist. You're like an addiction, and I never want to stop."
--------------
Pandora was now back in Miss Robichaux's Academy, feeling quite empty, but she didn't let it show. She was currently unpacking her bags in her room when a knock came from the door. The brunette spun around and saw Queenie standing there.
"Hey, Dory. Me, Mallory and Zoe are having lunch downstairs if you want to join? You know, since you haven't been here in weeks, we thought it would be a nice welcome back," Queenie said with a smile.
"Yeah, of course, let me just finish up unpacking and I'll be right down," Pandora stated with a grin. Queenie nodded and walked back downstairs, allowing the girl to continue what she was doing.
Once Pandora was done, she cascaded down the stairs with grace and dignity, and waltzed into the dining room where she saw three of her close friends eating and talking.
"Dory, come here and sit," Queenie beamed towards the talented witch. Pandora sat down in the vacant seat beside Queenie and grabbed a teacup and began pouring tea into it.
Pandora looked up once she noticed the sudden silence and noticed all three sets of eyes were on her. The girl furrowed her eyes in confusion. "Is there something on my face or?"
"No, it's just that we missed you. It's not the same here without you. We're just savouring the moment, I guess," Mallory said with a small laugh. Pandora gently snorted.
"Aw, that's sweet. But I don't want you to starve so eat up girls," Pandora mused with a soft smirk.
"So, Pandora -" Mallory began but was immediately interrupted by Pandora herself.
"Dory," The girl corrected with a grin as she pointed her cake covered fork in Mallory's direction.
The said girl rolled her eyes with a laugh. "So Dory, how was the test?"
"Oh, it was ok -" Pandora began.
"Ok? It went better than ok! It was magnificent, Dory! You're obviously going to become the new Supreme. You deserve this," Zoe said excitedly. Pandora smiled with a hidden hint of remorse as she downed a glass of juice.
"Thanks, Zoe, but Michael also has every chance to be the Supreme. I mean, we did both complete the test together. We both brought Misty back. For all I know, Cordelia could choose both, either or neither of us. It's a hard decision. I know I wouldn't want to be in that position," Pandora countered.
"Yes but -" Queenie almost argued.
"There are no buts, Queenie, it's not our decision. I trust Cordelia to make the best choice. If Micheal is the best choice, then I'm happy for him. To be honest, it's a win-lose situation for Cordelia whatever she chooses. If she chooses Michael, the witches will go against her. If she chooses me, the warlocks will go against her. If she chooses both of us or neither of us, the witches and warlocks will go against her. It's simply unfair," Pandora cut Queenie off as if she had answered all her questions from her mind.
"What happens if this dude becomes Supreme?" Mallory interjected.
"Nobody will know until the time comes," Pandora answered.
"When will either of you become Supreme?" Mallory continued.
"The new Supreme rises only when the old one dies. It's tragic, but it's the only way to keep the coven surviving. Everyone must make sacrifices, it just seems like Cordelia makes the most," Pandora grimly stated.
There were loud and fast footsteps approaching the group of women and quiet squeals leaving the intruder's mouth. "You guys, you guys, you guys! You're never gonna believe it!" Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt's excited voice bounced off of the white walls of the dining room as she stood at the end of the table, jumping on the balls of her feet, like a child on Christmas day.
"What?" Queenie asked smiling, amused by Coco's mood.
"I discovered a new power. I don't want to toot my own horn, but it's pretty incredible."
------------
Coco had shown the girl's how she had discovered that she identify how many calories there were in food products. And, in Pandora's eyes, it was fascinating.
Pandora, Mallory, Queenie and Zoe were all testing Coco with her new power, by bringing out food products from the kitchen and letting her identify the calory amount with a simple roll of the eyes and a groan.
It was all fun and games until Coco began chocking on a cake that Queenie gave to her. Coco fell to the floor, no longer breathing. Pandora watched as Queenie and Zoe began panicking. Pandora placed a hand on a frozen Mallory's shoulder.
"Save her. I know you can do it," Pandora whispered into her ear.
Mallory dropped to her knees after Pandora's word of encouragement and crawled over to Coco. The dirty blonde witch ran her finger down Coco's neck, splitting her skin and revealing the inside of her throat. Mallory gently dug through the tubes until found the solid chunk of food and threw it on the floor. Mallory waved her hand over the open wound, closing the seal. Coco gasped for air and began to breathe again while Mallory stood up.
"What was that?" Zoe asked in shock.
"I don't know. Dory said I could do it, so I just," Mallory began before thinking of the right words. "Helped her."
"I've never seen anything like it," Zoe turned her attention to Pandora who was smiling down at Mallory and Coco.
"Sometimes people work better under pressure," Pandora smirked towards Zoe, before winking down to Mallory. Pandora then turned and began to walk out of the room.
On her way to her room, she saw Cordelia making her way down the stairs. Pandora watched momentarily as her Supreme struggled to make it down two steps. The young witch rushed to aid her unstable stance. "I've got you."
Cordelia smiled at Pandora's kindness and glanced back up at the girls that passed by her moments before. "I don't want the girls to see me like this. Will you help me to my room?"
"Of course."
-------------
"It's happening faster than I expected. A new Supreme is rising. But I am unsure which one of you it is," Cordelia painfully said as she sat numbly on her white bed.
"I know this is a hard decision for you Cordelia -"
"I know, I know. Both of you are powerful, there's no denying that. But you are good, pure, an angel. Michael is not, he will destroy us and he's already started with me. I don't know if I can risk that for our coven. For the sake of mankind."
"Well, if you are certain Michael is evil," Pandora internally frowned at the phrase before continuing. "Why not make both of us Supreme, I could change him. He seems very infatuated with me, I'm sure we could use that to our advantage," Pandora suggested. She really wanted to see Michael again, and it seemed that this was the only way she could.
Cordelia thought for a few moments over Pandora's suggestion. "Pandora Celeste Adler, that is a fucking brilliant idea. Gather the girls in the dining room for 6. We're celebrating."
-----------
All of the witches and Behold were sat at the dining table, with Cordelia at on end and Pandora at the other. Everyone was eating and talking and laughing and just enjoying themselves, something that someone of them hadn't been able to do in a while.
"Tonight, we celebrate a new beginning. This dinner is in honour to the new leader of our coven, to your new Supreme," Cordelia smiled as she raised her glass in Pandora's direction, everyone else at the table following suit.
"Thank you, I appreciate you giving me the chance, Cordelia," Pandora oozed pride and confidence that she knew that her Supreme was proud of her.
"Pandora, before you become Supreme, there is one lesson you must learn," Cordelia spoke before taking a swig of her wine. "Always believe in yourself, that is something you've been lacking in the last few years, and if you are to be the Supreme along with Michael, you must show him who the main one is."
"But I'm not dead yet, so please drink up," Cordelia continued with a laugh.
"How can you witches sit around here casually sipping wine when people are going to die? There's an Antichrist on the loose - trying to destroy the world," Behold criticised.
"Yes, and let's not forget who aided in his ascension," Myrtle shot back.
"Yeah. I know, I'm guilty. But now I know what he's capable of. Madison and I saw firsthand the people he hurt. His own family. Michael was born evil. We've got to stop him,"
"And we will. But tonight we are celebrating. Because this could be the last time we'll all be together. I'm not naive, Behold. I know damn well the challenges we're facing. I've known for some time. It forced me to do something I vowed I would never do. And it almost killed me," Cordelia spoke, referring back to when she resurrected Myrtle back to life.
"I knew I had to do everything in my power to prepare you girls for what was coming. And now that we are united and ready it's time to fire the first shot."
------------
Later that night, Cordelia, Pandora, Myrtle, Madison and Zoe were walking to the gas station where John Henry was last seen. The group of women stopped at a gas pump and looked down to the floor in unison. Cordelia looked to Zoe expectedly. Zoe nodded simply and stretched her arm out in front of her, gathering the dust that was once John Henry. "John Henry. What's left of him."
"I remember him being taller," Myrtle joked causing Pandora to smile.
"Dory, use your powers to bring John Henry back to us," Cordelia spoke to the brunette girl.
Pandora stretched both of her hands out so they were hovering over the pile of dust that Zoe conjured. Seconds later, a tall flame erupted from the dust and a figure following after it.
