SEVENTEEN

"240 terabytes of memory, over 11,000 processor cores. She could crush Watson at Jeopardy! and kick the asses of every roided actor in the Expendables franchise," Mutt exclaim as Michael and Pandora looked over the robot of Ms Miriam Mead.

"She's amazing," Michael stated, touching her arm. "Why is she so cold?"

"Oh, that'll change with the flip of her 'on' switch. She's got a nanowire-based lithium-ion battery. Basically the Energizer Bunny's wet dream. We'll fire her up, she goes on forever," Jeff answered, studying his creation.

"Just don't tell her she's a biomechanical humanoid. At least not at first. It'll send her into the mother of all existential crises. She could end up killing herself, maybe others. Seriously, I've seen it happen. Not worth the headache." Mutt continued.

"This is extraordinary," Pandora whispered, her eyes catching every detail of Ms Mead's face.

"Thank you, and now Kineros Robotics proudly presents the Battle-Ax. Miriam Mead 2.0," Mutt announced as Jeff scurried towards the computer, tapping a few buttons then hurrying back to the table. "Now, don't expect her to be her old self, right away. It's gonna take her time. She needs to learn from you. Build a rapport. Like any relationship."

The four people watched eagerly as Miriam's eyes quickly fluttered open. Still laying down, she glanced at her surroundings. Miriam quickly sat up, swinging her short legs over the table. The older woman smiled towards Michael, reaching a hand out to his hair. "How I've missed you, Michael."

Michael chokingly laughed as tears brimmed his eyes. The golden-haired boy collapsed into Miriam's touch, clutching onto her black shirt. Miriam returned the embrace before glancing at Pandora. Miriam gently pushed Michael off of her and jumped down from the table. Pandora weakly smiled at the approaching woman.

Before Pandora could utter a word, Miriam's hard hands were wrapped around her throat, ceasing the air travelling through it. Pandora clutched onto Miriam's wrists as the robot smashed her back into the glass wall, creating a large crack in the surface. Miriam easily lifted the girl off of the ground, so she was dangling in her grasp.

Michael pushed Miriam away, causing the hand around Pandora's neck to flee. Pandora weakly dropped to the white floor as Michael tried to catch her. "What do you think you're doing Ms Mead?" Michael roared over his shoulder to the unfazed robot.

"She is an enemy. A witch. She must be eliminated."

"No, she is a partner, an ally. She is going to help us," Michael stated with an angry gaze as he wrapped an arm around Pandora's middle, supporting her on her unsteady legs.

Miriam nodded with an unconvinced glint in her eyes.

-----------------

Michael, Miriam and Pandora were in New Orleans, standing outside of Pandora's school - Miss Robichaux's Academy.

"Michael? Do you really need to do this?" Pandora hesitantly asked, settling her hand around Michael's wrist, trying to persuade him.

"You are torn? Are you doubting your choice to stay with me?" Michael interrogated, placing his palm flush against her cheek.

"I just think there is another way around this. Without so much death."

"Dora. It's either me or them?" Michael stared into her eyes, his gaze boring into her skin.

"You can't expect me to willing watch you murder my sisters, can you?" Pandora questioned with tears welling in her eyes.

"No, I don't, that's why I'm going to force you to watch me murder your sisters," Michael sneered, grabbing onto Pandora's wrist, forcing her toward the entrance.

"Michael! Stop! This isn't you, please!" Pandora pleaded with damp cheeks. Pandora managed to wriggle her hand free from Michael grasp. "Why are doing this?"

"I vowed to Cordelia that I would kill all of the witches, that didn't include you, but if you keep this up, you'll be the first to go. Dora, please just cooperate," Michael softened his tone, planting an impatient kind smile on his face.

More tears poured from Pandora's glossy green eyes but nodded nonetheless. Michael grabbed her wrist again and pulled her into the house.

"Evil presences, leave this space. Only light and healing energy are allowed here," The voices of Queenie and Zoe made Pandora sick at the thought that they would be dead soon and she could nothing about it.

"Clearly that mantra's bullshit," Michael interrupted, letting go of Pandora's frail wrist to link his hands behind his back. "Oh, come on, you can't be that surprised to see me," Michael added noticing the witches startled expressions.

"Fuck no, you were prophesized, darling. Up yours," An older woman dressed in an extravagant black dress and short, big dramatic grey curls sat on her head said. Pandora recognised the woman as Bubbles, a witch with extraordinary telepathic powers.

"I told Cordelia what I was gonna do to all of you. I have deaths to avenge," Michael seethed. Miriam walked from behind the wall causing Queenie to gasp in shock and confusion.

Zoe looked at Pandora's distressed expression and went to move to her, but was stopped when Miriam pulled her arm off of her body to reveal a gun. Pandora took advantage of the chaos and rushed upstairs to Cordelia's room, praying she was in there. With tears cascading down her face, Pandora winced at the screams and cries of her sisters as gunshots rang through the air. Pandora pushed the white doors open and sighed when she noticed Cordelia, Mallory and Myrtle all sitting around a table. Cordelia stood up as Pandora cried into her shoulder.

"You've got to leave. Now!" Pandora sniffled into Cordelia's blonde locks.

"Dory?! Where have you been? What's happening down there?"

"Michael. He's here to kill you all, you've got to get away. Please," Pandora grabbed Cordelia's hand, pulling her from the door.

"No, we've got to stop him," Mallory interjected.

"We have to keep you safe," Myrtle calmly said. Pandora always appreciated Myrtle's calming attitude, even when everything is turning to shit.

"I don't understand; our sisters are dying!" Mallory's voice rose as she stormed to the door. Mallory went for the handle but Pandora used her powers to push her away and into Cordelia's arms.

"There's nothing we can do. He's too powerful," Pandora said, keeping her back pressed against the door as extra protection. "He's is gonna kill all of us, and I will not stand back and watch you die!"

"Pandora, you are coming with us! We need you," Cordelia said as she prepared to teleport.

"Cordelia, Michael will find me, and he'll kill all of us. I can't risk it," Pandora cried.

"You are more powerful than him, more stable. Without you by his side, he will be lost," Cordelia extended her hand out to Pandora. "An angel does not belong with the devil."

Pandora glanced between Cordelia's hand and her face. Hesitantly, Pandora placed her palm against Cordelia's and allowed Cordelia to take her to a safer place.

Safer than Michael.
