NINE

The worried group of witches stood around the library waiting for their Supreme to wake up from her unconscious state. Every now and again, Cordelia would mumble and talk in her sleep, but mostly scream causing Pandora to flinch with every shout. The shaken girl leaned against the doorframe of the library, nibbling at fingertips, staring dead ahead.

Suddenly Cordelia sits up with a grunt causing all of her sisters to surround her with concerned expressions etched onto their faces. Cordelia hugged her lost witches - Queenie and Madison - much to Madison's dismay.

"I want to see the boy."

---------------

"I wanted to thank you for bringing them back," Cordelia spoke reluctantly to the smug-looking boy.

"I wanted to get your attention," Michael smirked back to the Supreme.

"Well, now I'd like everyone else's attention," Cordelia countered as she glanced at the witches and warlocks surround her and Michael. "I've been presented something. A vision. I believe I saw the future. A terrifying future. Cataclysm. Fire. Death. I saw a man. But not a man. A white face. Demonic. He was laughing." Cordelia directed her speech to her witches. "Our academy, sisters, I saw it reduced to cinders."

"A warning?" Myrtle asked.

"Maybe." Cordelia nodded. "But something in my blood is telling me that the only hope we have of surviving depends on what I do next. In two weeks time, at the rise of the Blood Moon, you will take the test of the Seven Wonders. That is, if you still want to?"

"I do." Michael eagerly nodded with confidence.

"On one condition." Cordelia continued. Ariel and the other supporting warlocks stood forward with confusion and scepticism. "I would like Pandora to also attempt the test alongside Michael, and whoever completes it with better standards will become the next Supreme."

"That's simply unfair, Cordelia!" Ariel exclaimed. "Pandora has already attempted the test before and she failed, what is the point in her trying again?!"

"Because I know what she did on her test. How she allowed me to win. I know of Pandora's power. And as Supreme, I believe it only fair to give her another chance to prove herself. That is my decision, if you continue to disagree then the deal is off of the table and Pandora shall only take part in the test. And you kiss your chance of having an Alpha goodbye." Cordelia stepped closer to Ariel with each sentence she spoke to assert her dominance and superiority.

"Pandora? Are you up for doing the Test of the Seven Wonders again?" Cordelia smiled towards the quiet girl that was standing towards the back of the group.

The young girl, still quite shaken from being visited from seeing her dead friends walking and breathing to seeing her strong Supreme fainting at the sight of Michael, diverted her gaze from Cordelia to Michael and then to the other witches and warlocks in the room. With a silent nod, Cordelia returned her gaze back to the five warlocks in front of her.

"Then it's settled. In two weeks, Michael and Pandora will both compete to become the new Supreme. Good luck."

"He's going to need it," Madison nudged Pandora with her elbow with a smirk. "It's obvious that you're going to beat him."

-----------

After several more moments of arguing, the warlocks believed it was only fair for Pandora to stay at Hawthorne to prepare for the test of the Seven Wonders alongside Michael - so they could keep a close eye on the progress of both of them.

Of course, all of the witches, especially Myrtle, were opposed to the idea, but Pandora thought it was the best idea, particularly if it meant the discussion would be ended.

"I'll see you again in two weeks, please don't worry about me. I'll be just fine -" Pandora begin to say to Myrtle but the older woman cut her off with a scoff.

"I still believe this is an awful idea. You know men - especially boys that go to an all-boys school - when they see a beautiful, radiant, young girl. They can't handle their hormones."

"Myrtle, that's enough. You're filling Pandora's head with disturbing nonsense. These boys won't do anything to you, Ariel has sworn his life for your safety and comfort. There's nothing to worry about, dear. We'll see you soon, good luck, although you don't need it." Cordelia shushed Mrtyle with a wave her hand.

"Thank you, Cordelia. I really appreciate you giving me another chance - "

"Oh shush, my dear, you deserve this. I know you have the potential to be a strong, powerful Supreme, you just need to believe in yourself. Don't give up and let Michael win. Not like last time," Cordelia laughed as she brushed her fragile hand through Pandora's dark tresses.

Pandora hugged the blonde woman and watched as she and her friend walk out of the school.

"Hello," A voice said suddenly said from behind her causing her to jump out of her skin. Pandora turned around and was met by the infamous face of Michael Langdon. "I suppose we didn't have the best first meeting, did we?"

"I suppose not," Pandora hesitantly smiled towards the boy. "It looks like we're going to be spending a lot of time together in the next two weeks."

"I suspect we're going to spending even more time with each other even after all of this,"  Michael beamed down at the girl, causing Pandora to smile back.
