"F-Felix?"

The younger boy clutched the Connection Crystal in his hand, the same one that had brought him to Changbin, and he glared daggers at the at the older boy. Though the Australian did speak up after a few moments of silent staring, he wouldn't have needed to, because everything he needed to say was reflective in his eyes; like it always was.

"You're so fucking stupid," the brunette hissed, and though the words he spoke were harsh, his next actions were not.

Changbin stood frozen as the younger boy walked towards him, and for a split second, the raven haired boy wondered if Felix was going to slap him across the face. But he didn't, and as angry as he was, the Australian couldn't ever bring himself to hurt even a single strand of hair on Changbin's head, because he knew that if he did, he'd be just like all the others in the raven haired boy's eyes; and he wanted to be anything but the same. He wanted to be different. So instead of hitting the older boy, the brunette snaked his arms around the shorter boy's neck, pulling him close. His embrace was warm, and comforting, and his arms seemed very protective when wrapped around the older boy's frail body. The world around Changbin melted away as he squeezed Felix back, not wanting the moment to end. But it had to end because Felix wasn't supposed to be there.

"What the hell are you thinking?" The Australian questioned, but the angry edge to his voice was now gone completely.

His words were softly spoken, and every syllable sounded like music to the older boy's ears. He wondered if he could just stay in that moment forever, because he wanted to just hold Felix close forever. There would be no need for hurt, or revenge, or pain, or suffering, -if only he could just live out the rest of his days in Felix's embrace.

"You need to go back," Changbin breathed out, and though he said those words, he tightened his grip on the Australian's body.

It wasn't that he wanted to leave Supernova. If he had a choice in the matter, he'd have stayed there with Red, and all the other members, and Felix for the rest of his life; because he cared for all of them. He loved them like family, even if he was distant, and he'd miss them for the rest of his life. He'd miss Woojin smiling, because Lord knows that boy's smile could light up even the darkest of rooms. He'd miss Seungmin and his snarky, over educated comments that sometimes made him want to tear his own hair out. He'd miss Jeongin and his laugh, because that boy's laugh could turn the most horrible of days into something not as bad. He'd miss Minho and his lame puns. He'd miss Hyunjin and his obnoxious shower singing. He'd miss Jisung and his snappy comebacks. He'd miss Chan and his motherly attitude, used to keep the boys in check when Red wasn't around to do so. And Red...He'd miss her a lot, too. He'd miss the home cooked meals, and the older sister vibes she put off that made everyone feel safe and sound.

But, most of all, he'd miss the boy that dropped into his life so unexpectedly and showed him that he wasn't ever as empty as he thought he was. He'd miss Felix more than anything at all because the Australian was the only person who'd ever been able to ruin him in all the best, most lovely ways. But as long as Osiris was around, Changbin couldn't ever have Felix close to him. As badly as he wanted to keep the younger boy at arms length during all hours of the day, seven days a week, three hundred and sixty five days a year; he knew that he couldn't. Because if Changbin's presence in Felix's life was a constant threat to the younger boy's safety; then the older boy was prepared to lock his heart away once more and remove himself from the Australian's life altogether.

"I won't go back without you," Felix replied confidently.

"Just go, Felix. This is my battle to fight, not yours," Changbin replied.

Finally, they broke away from one another, but both with great reluctance. They wanted to stay close to one another; but Changbin knew that he couldn't do that. Felix needed to go back to the hideout. He needed to get away from Changbin, because the raven haired boy knew that Felix wouldn't ever be safe for as long as the brunette was around him. He'd be in constant danger, and Changbin couldn't let Felix live in fear. Because, if he always lived in fear, then he wouldn't get to see that smile on the Australian's face. And if Changbin had to choose between preserving the younger boy's happiness, or keeping Felix close to him in such a selfish manner, the older boy wouldn't think twice. He'd make sure to stay far, far away from Felix so that his happiness wouldn't ever dissipate.

"No," Felix snapped, "this isn't just your battle, Changbin! This is our battle!"

Changbin shook his head in reply.

"No, it's not. This hasn't got anything to do with you, so just go back. Leave before it's too late, because if we're being honest, I probably won't be alive for much longer," Changbin said bluntly.

And it was true. Even if most of the members of Crimson Vector wouldn't be able to fight properly, the odds were still slim to none. Even if they were all weak, their combined weakness led up to massive strength, and Changbin was only one person. And, if pitted against all the members of Crimson Vector, he knew that he probably wouldn't make it out alive. Especially not if Osiris decided to actually get involved in the fight instead of just watching like he did before. Because Osiris was unimaginably powerful, and Changbin barely stood a chance. The raven haired boy knew that going into it, because he knew Osiris.

That man's power was absolutely unimaginable. Mix his powers with a sinister, emotionless, evil heart, and you have a recipe for complete and utter blasphemy. And that wasn't even the main problem with him. The problem was that Osiris himself didn't classify himself as evil, per say. His mindset was that he simply had an odd way of thinking, and that was something he was somehow sure of. He was the kind of person that looked at a squirrel and instead of seeing a cute animal, he saw something that was smaller, weaker, dumber, and more pathetic than him. He saw something that he could stomp the life out of, for no reason other than the fact that he could. He thought he was superior, someone that was only ever meant to be worshiped, and that probably stemmed from the fact that his childhood wasn't the easiest. He was constantly ignored, and when his drunken single mother did bother to look his way, it was only to tell him to get out of the room so she could entertain one of her 'dates'. Because of the lack of affection in his past, he had an impulsive urge to be loved during adulthood.

But, unfortunately for him, he was a nerdy scientist that didn't turn the heads of many women, and on the very off chance that he did, they only looked twice to make fun of him for a few moments longer. So, when he was offered a chance to join project Crimson Vector, he took it in a heartbeat, and he became the leading scientist on the project. And, for once, he felt powerful. But when he attempted to talk Changbin's parents into letting him inject himself and become the first successful Human Vessel, they refused because it was causing them so much pain. They though of Osiris like family, and he turned on them in the blink of an eye. He plotted their demise, and he executed it perfectly. After Changbin's birth, he killed the both of them with an air embolism; which was virtually undetectable during the autopsy.

Just a needle in the arm, which he convinced them was just the next round of their regular injections, and he used an empty needle to inject air into their veins. That then caused the embolism, which went untreated, and because of that; they died that same day. When the police came, they asked Osiris a few questions, and because of his unnatural intelligence and ability to lie without batting an eyelash, they didn't suspect him at all. Plus, when the autopsy revealed all the toxins in Changbin's parents' bloodstream, nobody questioned how they died or why. And they didn't question the obvious signs that Changbin's mother had just given birth. For years, Osiris became more and more powerful. And now, Changbin knew that he'd have to be stronger than he'd ever been if he wanted to defeat him.

Felix's hands clenched into fists at his side, so tightly that his fingernails dug into his palms roughly.

"Stop acting like some tragic protagonist!" The Australian snapped angrily, "you're not the only one in the world that's shouldering something!"

Changbin stared at him blankly, because Felix rarely ever yelled at him, and he couldn't get used to the brunette raising his voice.

"You're trying to act like you're all alone in this, but you're not! This was my mission too, Changbin! You said it yourself, we're partners for better or worse. And I don't like breaking my promises, so I'm going to protect you...No matter the cost."

"Why?" The raven haired boy questioned.

"Why would you do this for me? Do you have any idea how dangerous this mission is?"

"Of course I do. And that's why I can't let you do it alone. You don't turn your back on the people you care about! And you certainly don't turn your back on the people you love!" Felix exclaimed.

Love...? Changbin questioned. Is that what this feeling is?

"But you're not supposed to hurt the people you love, either," the older boy whispered.

Felix came closer again, and though they certainly weren't in the position to be discussing the things that they were feeling, emotions were running high, and passion and desire had both of them throwing caution to the wind.

"It would be an honor to be hurt by you."

Like before, sudden claps sounded in the air around them, and their moment was fizzled out. The both of them turned to look at Osiris, who had that same eerie smirk on his face. The red glint in his eyes made him that much more intimidating, and Changbin reached an arm out to push Felix behind him, ready to take the blunt end of whatever attack Osiris had up his sleeve in order to protect the younger boy.

"I must say, that was quite the show, boys," Osiris stated, his tone mocking and cruel.

"I'd say it touched my heart if I had one. And, if love really did exist, maybe I'd be a bit more moved."

"Love does exist!" Felix snapped angrily.

"It's cute that you believe that, and it might be true for someone like you," Osiris acknowledged.

"But, for people like myself, and people like Changbin here, there's no such thing as love. It doesn't exist in our world."

"Don't you dare try to compare yourself to him!" The Australian snapped again, and that time, Changbin grasped onto the younger boy's wrist.

He knew that if Felix continued to snap back in order to defend him, that Osiris may just go crazy on the both of them.

"Ah, but we really are one in the same. You may think that he loves you, but someone like him is incapable of love. He doesn't have a heart to love you with," Osiris replied bluntly.

Despite the fact that Changbin tried to keep the Australian's anger at bay, it spilled over once again.

"You're delusional!" Felix yelled.

"The only one around here without a heart is you. You're the one who hurts innocent people!"

"Innocent?" Osiris mused, almost like he found the word to be funny.

"You mean him? Changbin? Innocent? That's the funniest thing you've said since that stupid comment about love thirty seconds ago."

"Oh, but I'm sure he didn't tell you about himself, did he?" Osiris asked.

"He did! He told me everything! And what you did to him was disgusting, and I hope you rot in hell for it!" Felix seethed.

He'd been wanting to say that to the sorry son of a bitch ever since Changbin told him all about his past.

"So you know that he's one of us then?"

"He's not!" Felix replied.

"He's not like you at all. He was a victim."

"I didn't cause him to be what he is today. He was born this way," Osiris stated.

The brunette's eyes wavered a bit, giving way to the tiniest bit of uncertainty that was ebbing at the back of his mind.

"I guess you don't know as much as you thought you did," the Crimson Vector leader smirked.

"You didn't tell him about that, did you Changbin?"

"What's he talking about?" Felix whispered.

"Felix-"

But before Changbin could properly explain, Osiris spoke up loudly.

"Like I said before, he's just like all of us; with the blood of a Human Vessel running straight through his veins. He can never escape Crimson Vector. He belongs to us. He's our property."

Nervously, Felix glanced over at Changbin. His heart started racing when he saw the changing colors of the older boy's eyes.

Red.

The raven haired boy pulled the Connection Crystal from his pocket, putting the sharp end of it to his flesh.

"What are you-"

Slice.

With a quick hand, Changbin's forearm had been sliced open in order to get the blood flowing on the outside of his body. Felix watched, petrified and frozen in place, and the older boy's arm bled from the wound. The crystal, that was now covered in blood, fell to the ground with a clink, and Changbin's fists clenched harder. The blood spilling from the wound on his arm began to congeal, and before the Australian could fully comprehend what was happening, Changbin's eyes turned completely red, matching that of Osiris's, and his blood shot forward. A string of the crimson liquid wrapped around the leader's neck, but Changbin didn't pull it hard enough to kill him. It just made it harder for him to breathe properly.

"I don't belong to anyone," the raven haired boy snarled.

Despite the fact that he could die at any given moment, Osiris smirked in Changbin's direction.

"Do it," he challenged.

"Kill me. It's not like you've never killed before, so what's one more body on your hands?"

Changbin hesitated, and that left an opening for Osiris. He brought his hand upward, quickly sinking his teeth into his own flesh, tearing it open to get the blood flowing on the outside of his body. In the blink of an eye, his blood shot outward, and strings of the crimson liquid wrapped around every limb on Felix's body. He gasped, clawing at his neck when the string of blood around his throat tightened to the point of nearly cutting his flesh open.

"Let him go or you die!" Changbin threatened, and it wasn't empty at all.

"You won't do it," Osiris stated, smirking as if he thought he knew something that nobody else in the world did.

"If you do, you'll be just like me."

Changbin froze for a moment, but the string of his blood tightened around the Crimson Vector leader's neck.

"D-Don't do it," Felix choked out, squeezing his eyes shut when another string of blood wrapped around his abdomen and squeezed with unimaginable pressure.

He could hear the cracking of his own ribs. But, despite the fact that he was in massive amounts of pain that could be taken away if Osiris was killed, Felix knew he couldn't allow Changbin to do that. It would be like the older boy was sinking down to Osiris's petty level, and the Australian knew that Changbin wasn't that kind of person. And, after hearing and witnessing firsthand the effects that the accidental death of one of the scientists who'd tested on him for years, he refused to let Changbin suffer anymore. It had such an impact on Changbin, so if he were to do that again, it might just ruin the older boy's life forever. With a clenched jaw, Felix sparked up his fingertips.

His eyes shot open, and when they did, there was absolute hell to pay. The blood attached to his body that was stringing from Osiris sparked, all the chemicals and toxins catching fire. Within moments, the energy from Felix's body seeped into Osiris, and his control over his blood was severed. Changbin let the string of blood he had wrapped around the leader's neck fall to the ground, and the blood wrapped tightly around Felix's body dropped, covering him in it in the process. Osiris's veins burned wildly as he dropped to the ground, writhing in pain and agony. He tried to spark up his powers again, but because of Felix's attack, his powers had been completely cut off. All the chemicals that laced his blood that allowed him to use it as a weapon had been burned up by Felix's pyrokinesis.

But Osiris wasn't killed by that. However, there was no plausible way for him to fight back anymore, and he was painfully aware of that. So, he brought his hand up to the collar on his neck, and for the first time in his adult life; he retreated as a failure. But even so, Changbin fell to his knees in the dirt, collapsing under the weight of his own body.

"Changbin!"

Quickly, Felix was at the older boy's side.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" He questioned.

"You don't have to do this. I'll understand if you think I'm a monster because of what just happened, Felix. You don't need to pretend," the raven haired boy whispered, but the Australian could see the tears in his eyes as the redness in his irises faded.

"Did I not make myself clear earlier? I am in love with you, Changbin. I love you. You make my heart race, and you make my head spin, and you make me feel like I'm the only person in the world when you look at me, and I've never felt this way about anybody in my entire life...And I'm afraid. I'm nervous. But I know that I can't stop myself from loving you," the younger boy stated.

"...why does it have to be me?" Changbin asked.

Felix smiled in replied.

"It's because it's you."

Without hesitation, they both slowly moved in. Their lips finally united together, Changbin's velvety lips compelling against Felix's slimmer, warm ones that tasted like summer, dancing around and soon bonding together. Epiphany and elation percolated into their veins and soon the entire system as Felix continued to press his lips more impenetrably and rougher onto Changbin's. His insistent mouth was parting the older boy's trembling lips, sending wild tremors along his nerves, inflicting sensations he'd never known he was capable of feeling. Then, Changbin kissed him back, getting deeper; deeper than all the galaxies in the universe. Felix's summer lips imprinting themselves on Changbin's like a footprint in the snow, forging a sense of exoticism and roguery.

Gently pulling away, Felix rested his forehead against the older boy's. Neither one of them spoke, but nothing more needed to be said. There was that undeniable warmth again, aggressively spreading quickly to every cell in Changbin's body.

All the older boy had ever known in life was pain. He'd never known love at all. And he always assumed that on the off chance that it really did exist out there in the world somewhere, that there was only two types; the kind of of love you would die for, and the kind of love you would kill for.

But with Felix...That was the kind of love that he would live for.
