"Why are you panting and stuttering? Minho, let me FaceTime you."
Hyunjin's heart was racing. What now? They were both sweaty and panting in the backseat of Minho's car. And the worst part was the fact Hyunjin was still shirtless with his back against the seats. Hyunjin didn't get fucked, but they sure were.
"Listen, Jisung- I- I don't see why you'd want to FaceTime me", Minho tried saving them while he motioned for Hyunjin to quickly get dressed and climb onto the front seats, as Minho did the same. After slightly adjusting their hair, he sighed and allowed Han to switch to FaceTime.
"Happy now?"
"Where's Hyunjin?"
Minho looked to the side, sighing. "He's next to me, what do you need him for?"
And then Felix appeared next to him, waving into the camera. "We just wanna say hi!" Minho checked if Hyunjin looked less suspicious one more time before getting closer and sharing the screen with him.
"We just stopped to get something to drink", Hyunjin said with a smile, picking up his iced americano. And he could only pray they didn't notice it no longer had ice in it. Who knew what kind or theories they'd come up with. Hyunjin definitely didn't want to know.
Hyunjin was soon handed the phone, as Minho started driving towards their dorms. "Did you guys order something to eat for us as well?", he asked and Felix nodded with a big smile on his face.
"Yeah, we got enough for us all. Changbin and Channie Hyung even agreed on eating take-out instead of their protein powder coated chicken with rice." Hyunjin laughed at that. Yeah, he was used to seeing their usual dinner.
Only about a minute passed and Han excused himself to open the door for the staff that had brought them their food. And it seemed like Felix used that opportunity to call out Hyunjin and Minho.
"So.. I guess you're both red and sweaty for a reason? Did we interrupt you guys?", he asked, wiggling his eyebrows to really make it obvious that he knew.
But Hyunjin played innocent. "What are you talking about? The light isn't really good here, but I'm not sweating. I literally just drank half an iced americano, Felix", he replied with a small chuckle but he could see how nervous Minho was.
"Of course. Alright, I'm gonna hang up now, since you're probably already close. Just don't get distracted again, or else we'll eat without you!" And after another minute Felix hung up and Hyunjin exhaled loudly before giving Minho his phone back. "Now that was something."
The elder could only chuckle and Hyunjin stuck his tongue out. "Not funny. Jisung's already getting suspicious of us. He could tell the others and then we'll be done for!" He could feel how Minho carefully took his hand and held it tightly. "Okay, okay. I get it. But I'm sure it's going to be okay. He doesn't have any proof, hm? Everything will be fine, Jinnie."
Even though Minho was joking around just a few seconds ago, Hyunjin relaxed at those words. He knew the other meant what he said, so it calmed him down in a way. With a smile on his lips he put down his now empty cup and held up Minho's up to his face, allowing the male to drink. "Here, finish this before we arrive."
When he looked at that gentle smile of his boyfriend.. all he could do was wish everything really would turn out fine.
It wasn't until a week later when he got to open yet another envelope.
"You're like the first snowflake touching the frozen lake,
So delicate and pure.
You float from the sky so quietly,
Covering even the darkest places, giving them time to shine.
And if even the cold-hearted winter turns each snowflake into something so unique,
I'll aim to do the very least and let you see the beauty you hold within.
And just like for a snowflake,
I'll spend hours pointing out all the things,
That make you, you."
Hyunjin's heart ached. He had been missing Minho like crazy.
With how packed their schedules were, they only saw each other when they were working or having dinner all together. And that happened not often enough.
It was practically impossible to spend time alone, so it was only natural for Hyunjin to catch the tear that was rolling over his cheek while he put away the poem into a box, neatly placed in his bottom drawer.
He had just returned from their meeting, so he couldn't even tell when Minho had enough time to place the envelope on his bed, although he'd never complain. It always made him feel.. so special. It was like a lovestory he'd see in a romance movie β something he had always dreamed of. In a way.
One thing he did not want were the complications, although those already became reality. They constantly lived in the fear of their relationship getting leaked. It would ruin absolutely everything. While the entertainment didn't care about hints that could be seen as jokes, they sure would care if they both would be seen kissing and holding hands. But it was exactly what Hyunjin wanted to do so bad!
Aside from that, he had always dreamed of going on another date with Minho. A proper one. Though it was so difficult to achieve without it looking too suspicious. Someone else would have to tag along, and that would make it less of a date.
A knock interrupted his thoughts and the smile on his face couldn't have been any bigger. It was none other than Minho.
"Now why does my prince look like he's been crying all day?", Minho exhaled and walked up to the male, cupping his face to kiss his lips. "This might cheer you up." And with a big smile he proudly showed off the flyer he had had in his hand. An art exhibition? Starting in about an hour? Minho knew him all too well.
"I suppose my sweet Minho has found a liking to art?", he jokingly asked and looked at the male with a gentle smile on his face. "Or are you sacrificing yourself? You know I'll never shut up about the art", Hyunjin spoke and sighed softly. Then he quickly got up and wrapped Minho in his arms. "Let me get dressed, then we can leave. I don't want to come too late, I'll need a lot of time there."
And his heart fluttered when he saw how genuine Minho's smile was. He was the right one for him, as he even seemed to be okay with spending hours at an art exhibition with Hyunjin, just because he loved such things. It never failed to entertain him.
And so of course he was quick to put together an outfit he liked, touching up his hair and make up. Only then was he confident enough to leave. But before that, another kiss was placed onto Minho's lips. "Thank you for doing this with me."
And he couldn't have been any happier. The art was beautiful, amazing and breathtaking. Every single painting received Hyunjin's personal opinion and he seemed to be liking nearly all of them.
You know, I think such paintings are the prettiest. You really have to look at it for a few minutes to understand what it wants to tell you", he starts and turns his head to face Minho. Seeing the other did not quite follow, he chuckled.
"Do you see those lines? If you don't want to see anything, you won't see it. But if you really focus on that line, it starts looking like the painting has a second person, the second one is faded, you can't make it out as easily. They're representing some sort of memory, an illusion maybe." Yes, art was Hyunjin's passion. All forms of art impressed him, that's why it was so much easier for him to express his feelings by painting, dancing and writing.
Minho nodded for him to continue and Hyunjin smiled. "See, the person on the right is easy to make out. You'll see it right away. On the left it looks like a bunch of lines bundled up together, but it's a second person. Maybe the first is struggling to remember what they look like, sound like."
When he looked at his boyfriend again, he just seemed to not know what to say, making the younger laugh. "I'm interpreting. I can't know exactly what it means. That I would have to know from the artist."
A voice interrupted Minho just before he was about to say something.
"Oh how lucky you are, this is my painting", a man in his thirties stated and pointed at the painting the two idols have been talking about.
After blankly staring at the male for a few seconds, Hyunjin's lips curled up into a smile. He truly had to be lucky if he managed to meet the artist!
"Kang Jeong-Woo", the male introduced himself and held his hand out for Hyunjin to take. "It's my pleasure to meet you, Mr Kang. My name is-" "Hwang Hyun-Jin. My niece is a big fan of yours." Hyunjin could feel the way his cheeks slightly heated up at that.
"I really like your art, it really makes you think about it thoroughly, because you want to understand it. And you get so much more excited when you find more details, helping you interpret the painting", Hyunjin stated and could soon feel a hand being placed onto his back. It gave him a strange feeling, so he gave Minho a quick glance, who seemed to be zoned out.
"Ah, Hyunjin. I listened to your interpretation. You're really good at it, I'd even say you nailed it." That praise definitely made him forget the awkwardness and smile instead.
Although when Mr Kang let his hand rest on the dancer's waist while he pulled him over to the next painting, Hyunjin was no longer sure about it. Especially when he had turned around to take two glasses of champagne a server was giving out. "Let's honor our friendship with a glass of champagne."
Only Hyunjin wasn't much of a drinker. Especially when it came to champagne. His tastebuds just were not made for that kind of liquor.
"Actually, I can't drink alcohol. It could affect my health and the way I perform on stage", he tried getting himself out of the situation, but it seemed like the male just wasn't going to give up. "It's just one glass, I don't think that's going to affect you in any way." And oh how badly he wished for Minho to be there.. although he was still looking at the painting from earlier. Just why did he decide to analyze it right when Hyunjin needed him to get him out of this situation?
Mr Kang placed his hand on Hyunjin's shoulder in an attempt to get his attention back. "You really shouldn't let this go to waste, the taste is so unique and exquisite." And so he gave in. Only Hyunjin could not taste any of the 'unique' and 'exquisite' flavor.
"I can show you a couple more of my paintings, I'm sure you'd love those. If you want, you may even take one home." And finally a topic he was interested in. That's why he came there in the first place β to look at art. But at the same time, should he really leave Minho behind like that? It was supposed to be their date.
He turned his head only to see Minho was no longer standing there.
Sighing he allowed Mr Kang to show him more of his paintings. And he talked, and talked, never giving Hyunjin the time to say his own opinion. And when he did get the chance to talk, the other made fun of his interpretation. Just.. what was going on?
The more time went by, the less people were around. Or was it just the location they were in?
"Mr Kang, I don't think there are any more paintings there. The signs says it's the emergency exit", Hyunjin spoke out his concerns, only to get a chuckle out of the elder male. "I just thought we would have some time alone here? To talk? We can also take a picture for my niece, she'd love an autograph too."
It was getting sketchier and Hyunjin really wished Minho would be with him again.
His prayers were heard as he felt a familiar arm wrap around his waist. "Mr Kang, there are two men looking for you. Are those your managers?", Minho asked and both of them watched as his face turned white and he excused himself before he nearly sprinted off.
"What's up with him? He's so.. weird." The younger was truly glad his boyfriend found him before Mr Kang had tried anything stupid.
"His name isn't Kang Jeong-Woo."
And upon hearing that, Hyunjin knew he should be more careful. It could have ended bad. Very bad.
They barely spent any time at the location after that, leaving shortly after. But that wasn't where their nightmare ended.
The second they stepped into the dorm Hyunjin lived in, they were met with a serious looking Chan ordering them to go to his room and wait for him there. Something bad must have happened. Something really bad, because Chan rarely ever got mad at them.
Hyunjin's thoughts were racing. What have they done?
Thankfully Chan joined them quickly and held his phone right in front of their faces.

Lee Know of Stray Kids has been spotted holding Hyunjin's waist as STAYs spotted the two at an art exhibition. After the recent rumor had been forgotten after a quick statement of the Stray Kids' managers, new sightings seem to prove the artists' relationship. Read below to have a review of the previous sightings and how their relationship has been hinted all this time.
It was a joke, wasn't it? The first time was already bad enough, it caused a lot of trouble. But last time it was easy to explain. This time on the other hand? There was no way they would manage to find an excuse.
That's when Chan finally spoke.
"You two are very important to me, the band and the fans. I don't want you to leave." He paused and took a deep breath.
"I'm going to need you to distance yourself from each other for a while. At least until the rumors die down."
