❛ chapter three ❜

βŠΉβ‚Š ⋆ THANKFULLY, THE NEXT SCHOOL DAY FLEW in. Though during said day, Asdrid had come to one conclusion. She absolutely hated their history teacher, Mr Tanner, not only had he decided if and when someone was supposed to heal their parents death, but also deemed that if they hadn't, it was just "personal excuses", and to top it all off he was just a massive dick.

And now, Asdrid was walking down to the falls with Stefan (wishing she hadn't agreed to going), bottle of Bourbon in hand, or well, almost an empty bottle now. This high school thing was stressful, she wished she had more of a reason, like she was worrying about graduation, or getting any pop quizzes that she hadn't studied for, but no, it was stressful because she would much rather be asleep.

So now, she was getting drunk off her ass, and no one, including broody Stefan Salvatore could stop her.

"I'm so happy we don't have to live this boring high school life," Asdrid sighed when she and Stefan stopped, the view of teens who were drunk of cheap beer, chatting with their friends while the crackling fire could be heard in the background.

"We kind of are," Stefan replied.

"I mean like properly," Asdrid rolled her eyes. "They have to do this, otherwise they won't get anywhere in life. We have the whole world in our hands Mr Salvatore," she glanced up at her friend with a smirk. "You just have to learn to enjoy it," she shrugged. "Now go get your girl," she grinned, slightly tipsy she pushed her friend into the direction of Elena.

As she was about to turn and give Stefan and Elena some space, a figure bumped right into her chest, making her bottle fall to the ground as she used her hands to steady the person. "Woah," Asdrid laughed.

"God!" the girl who she recognised as Bonnie groaned. "I am so sorry! I should've been watching where I was going," she apologised.

"Hey, you're fine," Asdrid shrugged. "Everything's fine," she smiled which eased Bonnie's nerves. "Well, everything except my booze, that isn't fine," she joked, looking down at the smashed bottle with a fake pout.Β

"Oh, God," Bonnie cringed. "Here, have this," she automatically held out her beer bottle. "No, wait, you won't want it. I've already drank out of it, if you wait, I can go get you new one," she Bennett rambled, getting ready to rush off when Asdrid took the beer bottle from her handΒ

"It's alright," she replied, taking a sip from the bottle, maintaining eye contact while doing so, which practically made Bonnie weak in the knees. That only made her even more confused, she had never found girls attractive before, at least she didn't think so. So where was this coming from now?

"I see your friend has taken quite the liking to my brother," Asdrid spoke, snapping Bonnie out of whatever trance she was in as she nodded in reply, both girls looking over at Stefan and Elena who were sat on a branch of a lit up tree, having their own conversation.

"He makes her happy," Bonnie replied. "She's smiles more in the past two days than she has in months, it's nice," she continued.

Asdrid looked down at Bonnie as she spoke, her carmel skin glowing from the warm fairy lights that were hung around trees, the blazing fire that was lit not far from them, and the bright moonlight that shown down on them.

Bonnie who noticed the girls eyes on her looked down at her cup, her hair thankfully falling infront of her face, hiding the blush the covered her cheeks. Just as she finally brought up the courage to continue their conversation, Elena screaming could be heard in the distance. She and Jeremy rushing from the woods carrying Vicki Donavon's unconscious body.

All precious matters between she and Asdrid were gone and Bonnie found herself running towards her best friend, glancing back for a moment to find Asdrid already gone.

Asdrid quickly walked as dash she could until she got to Stefan who was watching the scene in the background. "We need to go," she said, chancing the Salvatore's attention. "Now!" she whisper yelled, grabbing Stefan's hand in her own and dragging him until they were out of sight of the humans which is when Stefan used his enhanced speed until they arrived back at the Boarding house.

"What's going on?" Zach questioned as he noticed his uncle and best friend rush through the front doors

"Someone was attached tonigjt, Zach, and it wasn't us," Stefan replied, neither giving Zach a time to reply as they both headed up the stairs.

Before either of them had the chance to do anything else, a crow suddenly came flying through the balcony doors, this was enoch for Stefan and Asdrid both to know exactly what was happening.

"Damon," Stefan spoke in realisation.

"- Hello brother," Damon replied, a wide smirk on his face, "and hello to you too, of course, Asdrid, though I must admit, it was a shock to see you here."

"Piss off," Asdrid rolled her eyes, moving to sit on one of Stefans chairs, leaning her elbow on the arm of the chair and then leaning her chin in her hand, watching how everything would play out, she wouldn't get involved unless she had to.

"The crow's a bit much, don't you think?" Stefan questioned.

"Wait till you see what i can do with the fog."

"When did you get here?"

Damon smirked once again, walking around the room, looking at his surrounding. "Well I couldn't miss my little brothers & his besties first day of school, could I?" He paused for a moment, looking at one of the books on stefan's shelves. "Your hair's different. I like it. Yours too Asdrid, although I miss the red."

"It's been fifteen years, Damon." Stefan sighed.

"Thank god," Damon replied dramatically. "I couldn't take another day of the '90s."

"Oh," Asdrid frowned, earning Damon and Stefan's attention. "I loved the 90s, you know what other time period I loved, the late 50s, oh I had a blast, did you like the 50s Damon?" she questioned, a smirk broke out as she noticed a look on Damon's face.

Stefan shrugged of the confusion he got from Astrid's sudden question, turning his attention back to Damon. "Why are you here?"

"I missed my little brother."

"You hate small towns, it's boring. There's nothing for you to do," Stefan stated, getting bored of Damon's games already.

"I've managed to keep myself busy."

Asdrid started to ignore their full argument and instead started painting her nails a deep black colour, only to mess up when the sound of two vampires falling of the balcony gave her a slight fright that she smudged her nails.

She shook her head at her friends actions, knowing fine well he would not be able to take Damon on, especially when all he's doing is eating bunnies and squirrels, and now, she'd have to deal with him.

And she was right, of course, she always is. When she landed on the ground, she seen damon ready to strike for stefan. "I really do hate this town," she mumbledz Stefan who also seen his attack coming was ready for the hit, but it never came, instead the sound of gasps and chocking was heard.

He opened his eyes to see damon's hands clawing at his throat in an attempt to catch a breathe, a breathe that he didn't exactly need but still wanted, a rope of red energy around his throat, stefan looked over to Asdrid who was leaning against the brick wall, picking off the nail polish that she had smudged.

She eventually stopped, allowing Damon to catch a breathe, once he came to his senses and realised what had happens, he ran at vamp speed towards Asdrid, but unfortunately for him, she had seen it coming, and shot her hand out first, red energy instantly pushing Damon back.

"I know it's been a while Damon, but don't forget just how much stronger I am compared to you," she smirks. "Just in case, you forget-" she brings her hand up, flicking it to the side and in synch Damon's neck snaps. "there's a reminder." she whispered before dropping him to the concrete floor.

She bent down, putting her hand into his pocket and pulling out Stefan's daylight ring and then throwing it to him. "You're welcome," she rolled her eyes. "Now be quite, I need my beauty rest.
