thrity: doctor mayfield

July 4, 1985
Night

The group dashed back inside and Jonathan took an axe, while Nancy took a rifle. The others were in the cabin, sealing off and obstructing all windows and doors.

Once they were done, Nancy stood in the middle of the room with a shotgun. "Hey, get away from the windows." She ordered.

They all stood in a circle, Max held tightly onto Beth's hand as the lights flickered and plates started to shake.

Will felt his neck once again, knowing what was about to happen. "It's close."

From outside, the leaves rustled, the branches snapped, and heavy thuds were heard. The cups were smashed which made the group look around. Suddenly, there was silence.

"Where'd it go?" Max questioned as everyone panicked.

A tendril had rammed through the wooden wall and straight to El. She and the kids retreated against the wall, and before the claw can reach her, Jonathan slammed his axe into it.

He was about to repeat the action, when the arm smacked him away into a bookshelf. It trapped him in the corner, as Nancy began to shoot at it. But she ran out of bullets, so the arm went straight towards her.

It was inches away from Nancy's face, when El had held it back and snapped it off. The rest of the arm went back through the hole it came out of.

"Holy shit." Max gasped before a second and a third arm shot at El.

She used both arms to hold them, for a couple of seconds before El shredded the claw off making the remains shriek and crawl out the cabin.

It was silent once again, but suddenly the monster created a giant opening in the roof. It's arm reached out and grabbed El's ankle. It started to quickly pull her up. Everyone screamed her name and lunged forward. Mike was the first to grab El's arms to pull her down. She was screaming as the monster continued to tug at her. Everyone then proceeded to grab onto her.

"Nancy, shoot it!" Jonathan shouted.

The sound of the gun being cocked echoed before Nancy began to shoot at the creature. She shot at it's mouth where had been pulling up El. Lucas, who had been the only one not holding El, grabbed the axe and jumped onto a table. He yelled out before slamming down the axe on the arm. He continued to yell out as he hit the monster with the axe repeatedly as Nancy shot it. Lucas was able to severed the arm and El fell on top of everyone who had been pulling her.

She grabbed onto Mike as held her close, "El? Are you okay?"

"Does she fucking look okay to you?" Beth questioned him in a yell.

Mike looked down and saw the tendril still stuck on El's leg. He was able to pull it off resulting in El letting out a scream.

"We've got to get her out of here." Beth exclaimed.

The claw that was pulled off her side scrambled across the room, but the head that was over them started roaring. El struggled to stand up, but when she did, she was able to divide the head in half.

"Go, go, go!"

"Come on!"

Everyone yelled and shouted as they quickly took El towards the car.

"Go!"

"Hurry up!"

"Come on, everyone out!"

Leading the group towards the car, Mike and Beth carried El to the vehicle.

"Go, go. Come on!"

"Come on! Come on!"

"Oh my god. I think she's bleeding out." Beth scrunched her nose in disgust.

"Get in!"

"Right here."

Mike and Beth set her down in the backseat and got in next to her.

"Drive! Drive!"

"Nancy, go, please!"

The trio pulled the three older teens through the corridors of the Starcourt Mall as they looked around in amazement.

"Whoa!" Steve laughed.

"This is cool." Brandon smiled.

"Where are we going?" Robin quizzed.

"Just trust me." Dustin said.

He looked through the door and nodded.

"What is happening?" Ally questioned.

"All clear." Dustin spoke up as he led the five into the movie theatre.

They made their way in, as Steve snatched a bag of popcorn from the bin.

"Ew, that's so unsanitary dude." Brandon scrunched his nose in disgust.

"It's fine, man." Steve mumbled, as stuffed popcorn into his mouth.

"Doc!"

"What did I tell you?" A voice was heard from one of theaters. "Eighty eight miles per hour!"

"Come on." Dustin headed towards the room, as he found three seats and sat the three down. "You three, sit."

"The temporal displacement occurred exactly 1:20..."

"No, no, no!" Robin moaned in annoyance. "These seats are too close!"

"Dude, these seat blows." Steve agreed.

"I don't like them." Brandon groaned.

"Then don't watch the movie." Dustin explained.

"We wanna watch it." Robin complained.

"Then watch it!" Dustin snapped at them.

"Shh!" A man behind them hushed them.

Robin turned to him, "Shh!"

"Sorry." Dustin apologized. "Whatever you do, don't...go...anywhere."

"We'll be back soon." Ally spoke up.

"Fine, mom and dad." Steve joked, making Robin and Brandon snicker.

"The appropriate question is 'where the hell are they?'" The doctor in the movie said. "You see, Einstein has just become the world's first time traveler!"

Dustin motioned for Erica and Ally to follow him to three available seats.

"Sorry."

"I'm so sorry."

"I sent him...into the future!"

Dustin sighed as he sat down, on the seat, "Okay, it's official. I'm never having kids."

"What are we doing here?" Erica leaned over Ally to speak to the boy.

"We're laying low." Dustin stated. "Cooling off, like Oswald."

"Oswald was found in a theatre and shot to death." Erica informed.

"A week later."

"The point is, his plan didn't work." Erica explained.

"Only because it was a set up." Dustin argued with her.

"What?"

"He was just a pasty." Dustin shrugged.

"Tell me you're joking." Erica rolled her eyes at him.

"He claimed that." Ally chimed in. "The difference between us and him was that he had assassinated the president and we're trying to save the world for God's sake!"

"Nerd."

"Shh!"

"Shh!" The three retorted back.

Erica groaned, "We need to get outta here."

"All right, you watch Tweedledee, Tweedledum, and Tweedledumber." Dustin ordered. "Make sure they don't go anywhere."

"Where are you two going?"

"To find us a ride, let's go Al." Dustin got up and Ally followed.

"Look out!"

"Guys, this was the movie I told you about. Back To The Future." Brandon explained to the two.

"Get out of here." Steve laughed.

"No way." Robin snickered.

"Yeah."

"But do you know what's happening?" Steve asked.

"Nope."

"No idea."

Nancy swerved into Bradley's Big Guys making El's leg hurt and add to the pain.

"Jesus." Beth groaned, as she grab onto Max's arm so she wouldn't fall. "Are you trying to murder us?"

"Sorry." Nancy muttered.

Mike and Max helped El out the car and towards the shop. Nancy picked up a rock and threw it at the doors. They walked through the smashed glass and towards the cleaning aisle.

Nancy scanned the shelves and grabbed some running alcohol, gauze pads, and more stuff. "Okay, get her down."

The two gently placed El onto the ground as she moaned in pain.

"Okay. Lemme see." Nancy lifted up the girl's pant leg, to reveal the bleeding wound.

"Oh shit." Max frowned.

"Oh my god." Beth muttered.

Nancy sighed and opened the box of gauze pads.

"What-what?" Max stopped the girl. "Hey, what are you doing?"

"I'm cleaning the wound." Nancy told her.

"No, don't do that." Beth groaned.

"First, we need to stop the bleeding, then clean, then disinfect, then bandage." Max instructed.

"She's right." Beth nodded. "She skateboards and she's been teaching me how to as well."

"Trust me." Max nodded at Beth as she placed a cloth on the wound. "Mike, hold this. Keep the pressure on it, nice and firm, okay?"

El squirmed and squeezed Mike's other hand as he used force on her wound.

"We're gonna need water, soap." Max listed.

"Yeah, okay." Nancy and Jonathan got you to grab the supplies.

"All right."

Lucas zipped his backpack open and everything spilled out. "Does any of this help?"

"No. Go get me a wash cloth and a bowl." Max commanded.

"A bowl?" Lucas raised his brow.

"Lucas..." Max glared at him.

Will smacked his arm, "Go."

"Okay." The two walked off.

"I'll go make sure they get what they need." Beth sighed as she got up to follow the two.

"Thanks, babe." Max smiled.

Beth saw the two boys go towards the cereal aisle and rolled her eyes. She walked towards the aisle. "Max, said that she needed a washcloth and a bowl. Not cereal!"

"We are looking for a bowl." Lucas argued. "It's obviously with the cereal."

Beth furrowed her brows at the boys, "What? What are you talking about? Why would it with cereal? A food item isn't a bowl!"

Lucas looked at Will then back at Beth and chuckled, "What else do you use a bowl for?"

Beth rolled her eyes, "You've got to be joking."

"Why would I be joking?" Lucas asked, being serious. "Cereal is the only thing bowls are used for."

Beth sighed before shaking her head. "You are literally stupid." She then turned on her heel and walked off.

Beth began to look for signs that directed to dish ware. But unfortunately couldn't find anything. She groaned in annoyance as she began to search the aisles up and down. She eventually find the one that held dish-ware and towels.

Beth smiled as she headed to the aisle. She grabbed a plastic bowl and Max appeared into the aisle. She sighed in relief, "Thank God, you're actually looking. Unlike Lucas and Will." The redhead walked over to Beth. "They're looking at fireworks, thinking it's gonna help. We have El, I think we'll be good."

Beth smiled as Max started to rant. She really liked Max a lot and was happy to call her, her girlfriend. They have been dating for a while and Beth wanted to tell her how she felt. She wanted to tell her she loved her. That hadn't use the l word yet but Beth had been waiting. She needed to say it. Beth took a breath, "Um..this isn't probably the best time to talk about this but, I don't know if I'll get the chance."

Max looked at her, in confusion, "What's up babe?"

"So, we've dating for a while and go on a few dates." Beth started, as Max listened and a smile formed on her face. "And you know I really liked you since I first saw you. I think you're super pretty and I was so happy when we danced at the Snowball. Then I asked you to be my girlfriend and you said yes. I liked you even more that day and realized how much I did." Beth began to rant but her girlfriend found it cute. "So, what I'm trying to say is....what I want to say is....uh...I love you Max. A lot. And I know we haven't use that word yet but I really mean it. And it's okay if you're not ready to say it, I just wanted to let you know that I do and I'm sorry for saying so-"

Beth was cut off when Max's soft lips pressed against Beth's. Beth smiled into the kiss as Max slowly ran her hand up Beth's cheek and held it. Max pulled away after a few seconds and smiled at Beth. Beth's cheeks turned pink as she smiled at her girlfriend. "...wow."

"I love you too, Beth." Max told her.

Beth smiled wide and never felt happier. Beth leaned into kiss Max again and the redhead kissed back. When they pulled away again, they leaned their foreheads against each other.

"You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen." Max muttered to Beth and the girl smiled.

Max pulled away from Beth, "As much as I'd like to continue this, we need to get this to El."

Beth nodded, before the two girls grabbed a bowl and a towel. They then headed back towards the group and met up with Will, Lucas, Jonathan, and Nancy.

They walked into the aisle that El and Mike were in, and saw them near the walkie talkie. They looked to see that they held distressed faces.
