October 31st, 1984

Beth sat at her dining table as she quickly ate her waffles. "Baby, slow down, you're gonna choke." Beverly told her daughter.

"Sorry, I just really want to get to school." Beth continued eating super fast. Beverly, Benjamin, and Brandon all stared at each other in confusion. Beth never rushed to get to school, in fact she hated school.

"I thought you hated school." The older Wright sibling spoke up. Beth looked up to see her whole family confused. "I just want to meet up with a new friend...that I met..."

Brandon tilted his head a bit and shrugged not asking anything else. But he knew his sister. When she was like this, it meant she was in love. Beth had a crush. The last person she had a crush on was her former best friend.

Once Beth finished her breakfast, she grabbed the keys to her brother's car and threw them at him. "What the hell Beth?!" Brandon held the spot of his head, that was hit. "Let's go!" Beth ordered and her parents looked at each other confused.

Brandon had got outsides seeing his sister was already in the car. "Hurry up dingus!" Beth shouted and her brother got in the driver seat. "Okay relax, Beth." The car started and they were gone.

The drive quiet and slow. No one talk, until Brandon spoke up. "Why are you so happy today?" Beth looked over at her brother, who was already looking at her. "It's Halloween! Why shouldn't I be happy?"

"I don't know. It's just you're never this happy for Halloween." Brandon commented before he just sighed and didn't talk to her sister through the rest of the ride.

Beth and Brandon got to school and went their separate ways. The girl walked into school and saw the four boys that were stalking her before, were wearing ghostbusters costumes. "That's cute." She muttered to herself before walking to her locker.

She started grabbing things out her locker when she saw the ginger haired girl Max, skating over to her. Their lockers were next to each other, which was such a coincidence.

"Hey there Snow White." Max greeted the brunette haired girl. Beth smiled and blushed a bit at the nickname. "Hello Red." Beth smirked. Max laughed a bit at the name and opened her locker.

Beth looked over to see two out of the four boys, staring at her and Max. She rolled her eyes and closed her locker just as Max closed hers. She looked back at the boys for a second, who were talking to each other before walking to class with Max.

Beth never liked school but today she enjoyed it. Maybe because it was Halloween and she was excited to go trick or treating later. Maybe it was because she was in a new school? Or maybe it was because of the ginger haired girl with bright blue eyes.

Beth and Max walked over to their lockers and saw the two boys from before. They were now walking over to the girls. The curly haired friend cleared his throat and introduced himself. "Um...Hi, Max and Beth. I'm Dustin and this is..."

"Lucas." The other friend said. Beth looked at them and smiled a bit. "Yeah, we know the stalkers." Max replied sarcastically. The two boys looked at each other embarrassed.

"Uh, no. Actually...we weren't stalking you." Lucas stuttered. "No, we were just concerned because you know, you're both new and all." Dustin told the girls. Beth titled her head with a confused look.

"Yeah, for your safety." Lucas said. "Mmm-hmm. There are a lot of bullies here." Dustin went on. "So many bullies it's crazy." The other one continued while looking at the other boy for help. "Yeah."

"Is that why you have proton packs with you?" Beth asked the boys raising her eyebrow.

"Well, these don't function. But... I do have this handy-dandy little trap here. And look, it even opens and closes. Look, look, look..." Dustin started to open and close the thing making Beth chuckle. "Voilà! It's cool, right? No? Okay. But um...So, we were talking last night, and you're new here, so you probably don't have any friend to take you trick-or-treating, and you're scared of bullies, so we were thinking that it would be okay if you come with us."

Beth and Max looked at each other before the ginger haired spoke up, "It'd be okay?"

"Yeah. Our party's a democracy, the majority voted you could come." Dustin replied to the girl. "The majority?" Beth asked confused. "Uh, yeah." Lucas nodded.

"Didn't realize it was such an honor to go trick-or-treating with you." Max said sarcastically. "We know where to get the full-sized candy bars. We figured you'd want in." Dustin told her.

"That's presumptuous of you." Max told him making Beth snicker. "Yeah. Totally. Uh, so, um... you'll come?" Dustin said not understanding what the word meant.

Max and Beth closed their lockers before walking off, not before hearing Dustin call out to them. "We're meeting at the Maple Street cul-de-sac at 7:00. That's 7:00 on the dot!"

"Are we going to go with them?" Beth asked the other girl. Max shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know. Maybe? But tomorrow you have to go to the arcade with me."

"Oh I definitely will." Beth laughed making the other girl smile as well. Beth smiled at the other girl's smile. Why was she so interested in this girl?

The day had went by quickly and Beth was now at home getting her self ready for trick or treating. She was going as Jason Voorhees, which was her favorite horror movie villain. She put on a black t-shirt, black ripped jeans, and then a army green colored jacket over the shirt.

She tied her hair in a ponytail before grabbing the mask and bag to hold her candy in. Beth suddenly saw her brother walking out of his room, so she decided to scare him. She snuck up behind it and held up her fake machete. Once she was close enough she yelled, "Boo!"

Brandon had jumped and screamed when he suddenly heard laughing. "Oh my god, Beth! You almost gave me a heart attack."

Beth continued to laugh as she took off her mask, "You should've seen the look on your face. It was priceless."

"Ha ha, very funny. You're so annoying." Brandon says with a laugh.

"What are you supposed to be?" Beth asked her brother pointing out his outfit.

"The Outsiders. Dallas Winston." Brandon told her before Beth nodded and turned on her heel.

She walked downstairs and started out the door before yelling to her parents, "Mom, Dad, I'm going out now!"

"Okay, sweetie. Don't go too far!" Beverly shouted to her daughter. "I won't!" Beth walked out the door.

A few minutes later of walking, she arrived at Max's house. They lived really close to each other so it wasn't that far a walk. Beth knocked on the door and it was opened to reveal the ginger haired girl.

"Hello Red. Ready to go hunt for some candy?" Beth asked with a smirk.

"I most definitely am, Snow White." Max pulled down her mask.

"If we find those boys, let's scare the shit out of them." Beth said and the ginger hair nodded. They walked to a neighborhood before Beth spotted the boys.

"Ten a clock." Beth pointed to them, and Max nodded as she snuck around to scare them. Their plan was for Max to scare them first, then have Beth scare them from behind.

"If I get another 3 Musketeers, I'm gonna kill myself." Lucas said.

"What's wrong with 3 Musketeers?" Dustin asked.

"What's wrong with 3 Musketeers?" Lucas said.

"No one likes 3 Musketeers."

"Yeah, it's just nougat." Will said.

"Whoa, just nougat." Dustin said. "Just nougat? It's top three for me."

"Top three?" Lucas questioned.

"Top three." Dustin said.

"Oh, god. Give me a break." Mike scoffed.

"Seriously, I can just eat a whole bowl of nougat. Straight up." Dustin explained before Max jumped out with her Micheal Myers mask. They all screamed, Lucas being the loudest.

Beth the snuck behind them and started to drag her machete across the ground. The boys looked around but didn't see her. They looked back at Max and Beth got behind them.

"Behind you!" Beth shouted while using a creepy voice. They turned around and screamed.

Max and Beth then started laughing before taking off their masks. "Holy shit! You should have seen the look on your faces." Max laughed. "And you? Who screams like that? You sound like a little girl." Max and Beth turned around and started to walk the other way before turning around again.

"Hey, you guys coming or not? Oh, I heard we should hit up Loch Nora. That's where the rich people live, right?" Beth said before turning around again, Max following her.

Lucas and Dustin smiled at each other and started after the two girls. Will then went after them. But Mike wasn't so happy.

They all walked through Loch Nora getting full-sized candy everywhere they went. Lucas, Max, Dustin, and Beth walked in front. Will and Mike were walking behind trying not to get to close.

"Another full-size. Like, seriously, rich people are such suckers." Dustin said. "Wait. You're both not rich, right?"

"No, I live up Old Cherry road." Max replied.

"I just live a couple a blocks away from her." Beth told them and they both nodded.

"No, it's fine. I mean, the street's good for skating." Max told them making Beth smile.

"Hmm. Yeah, totally tubular." Dustin said, before Lucas and the girls looked at him. "What? Did I say that right? Or is it, like, tubular."

"It's like, totally tubular." Lucas mimicked a surfer.

"Totally tubular."

"What a gnarly wave dude."

"Totally brodacious, bro!"

"Stop. Our ears are hurting." Max said as Dustin and Lucas continued to do it. Beth laughed at them doing this.

"Did you agree to this?" Mike asked Will.

"What?" Will asked as he lowered his camera.

"To them joining our party." Mike said in a angry voice.

"It's just for Halloween." Will said.

"You should have checked with me." Mike said.

"Well, they were excited. I guess I thought you'd be okay with it." Will explained to Mike.

"They're ruining the best night of the year." Mike said before going to catch up with the others.

The group continued when Mike realized Will wasn't with them. He ran off to find Will. He suddenly found him near a staircase.

"Will!" Mike said as he grabbed Will's arm.

Will started breathing heavily. "I couldn't find you. Are you hurt?" Mike asked.

"Holy shit." Dustin said as he came down the stairs to see them.

"Is he okay?" Lucas asked.

"I don't know." Mike said to them. "I'm gonna get you home, okay? I'm gonna get you home. Hold on."

Mike grabbed Will and got him off the ground. Dustin ran over and said, "All right, take it easy."

"I got him." Mike yelled at Dustin.

Mike put his arm over Will's shoulder and Will looked terrified. "Mike?" Dustin said.

"Keep trick-or-treating. I'm bored anyways." Mike say to them, before he walked away with Will.

"What the hell just happened? Is he okay?" Beth asked.

"What's wrong with him?" Max asked before Lucas and Dustin shared a look.

"Um, I think I should get home. My parents would get nuts if I'm not home soon." Beth said and they nodded.

"I'll walk with you." Max said before they both walked off together.

"What do you think that was about?" Beth asked the redhead.

"I don't know. I hope he's okay though." Max replied and Beth nodded.

"Me too."

They walked for a while when they reached Beth's house. "Well we're here." Beth said.

Max sighed before asking, "Can I stay here tonight? I don't want to be home when Billy comes back cause he's probably gonna be drunk or some shit."

"Um, uh, yeah sure. Sure." Beth said and Max thanked her before they walked downstairs. The house was quiet which made Beth think her parents were already sleeping and her brother was still out.

They walked upstairs to Beth's room. "Oh my god. It's so pink." Max laughed.

"Yeah, it's my favorite color." Beth said.

"I can tell." Max replied making Beth laughed.

They talked for the rest of the night and stayed up until 3 am before passing out.

Beth didn't want to admit it but this girl made her feel some type of way. She knew it now. She knew what the connection towards Max was.

Beth liked Maxine Mayfield. But now like as a friend. No. She loved the ginger haired girl.

Also her and Max are adorable together!! Especially them with Dustin and Lucas. If I had to choose, I would say Lucas is more into Max and Dustin is more into Beth. But none of them we'll be together because Beth and Max are endgame!
