004 - the cole effect.

LILIANA
"Well none of this is selling." I point to our silent auction. It seemed like a good idea at the time we chose. "Well, I think we should just wait." Jackie added and we all agree.

It didn't take long enough for Erin to come up to us with a smug look on her face. "Guess the silent auction didn't work, did it Jackie and Lily?"

"Well Erin we tried. And besides its not like everyone didn't agree." Jackie spoke up. "Erin, just wait. It's all going to turn out okay." I give her a patient smile. "Whatever." She rolls her eyes.

"Looks like this stall isn't really selling, huh?" I turn around to find Cole. "Uh yeah, unfortunately." I try laughing it off but this took a lot of effort. "Please. I saw you pathetically putting in a lot of effort for making that banner over there." He points to it with a smirk.

"Well.. yeah. But im sure people would come. Sooner or later." I smile and he mouths 'sure'.

Suddenly to my surprise, Cole goes to the stage and takes the microphone. "Hello people! I hope you all having a good time!" Just as Cole started speaking the whole crowd started roaring which makes me smile like a goof.

The insides melting again.

"I am so happy that everything is selling but I see that the silent auction is really well silent.." the joke wasn't even funny but with his charm, he makes the whole crowd laugh. "I told you, the Cole effect." Grace whispers in my ear.

I don't know if I can lie anymore, I don't know if I can lie to myself. I've always liked Cole, a bit more than the friend like. I always thought he was cool and perfect and.. well he is. In his own ways but he really really is.

"Well you know what, screw it! I'll let you guys bid on me too! For an entire afternoon"

Oh my god. He did not just do that.

"I can't believe believe she paid you 500$ to spend the afternoon with you. What did you guys do anyway?"

"Oh y'know, just old people stuff." He smirks and I turn towards him. "What exactly are 'old people' stuff?" I question him and he pretends to think.

"Ah well, I think you'd just have to wait and find out." He winks at me and I swear– my face was redder than a tomato. "You look cute when your blushing" he laughs and I wanted to dig a whole and jump into it.

"Wanna grab a bite at Monty's" I look at him and he has his signature smile on again. "Are you asking me out, lils?" His voice was deeper than usual and that just made him more attractive.

"No, I was hungry and I thought you'd be hungry too, you know after doing the 'old people stuff'" i smirk and he looks impressed. "Not bad lily, not bad at all." He gives me his hand as a gesture to go to and I take it.

We see Alex on the way. "Hey Alex! Wanna grab a bite with me and Cole?" I give him a warm smile but he looks sad. "No, I have work to do, maybe another time." He stomps away before I could say anything.

"Well what was that about." I mumble as Cole tugs me closer to him. "You can be real adorable sometimes, lils."

"What do you mean? Its not like Alex likes me or something." I grumble and he chuckles. "Exactly, he does."

"What? Alex? Your joking."

"Nope."

"I thought he was just being kind–" we enter the restaurant and everyone from the football team was celebrating their win outside. Cole looked outside.

"I'm gonna go order, alright?" I inform him and go and get a table. Erin goes over to Cole and she is all over him. Something makes me mad, jealous.

She whispers something in his ear, and I pretending I wasn't noticing but Cole glanced out again where they were celebrating and He nodded. Soon he and Erin were out of there.

What the hell?
