"I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD BE SAYING THIS, BUT I'M GONNA MISS THIS PLACE."
I said with a watery smile on my face. "The past year has been a rollercoaster. Jim and Pam finally got together, which was the highlight of my matchmaking career." I teased, sending a grin to Billie who winked in return. A throat cleared directly beside me. My cheeks glowed pink as I turned to face Neil. "Oh, and I got a boyfriend."
Sebastian howled, running forward to capture Neil's head in the crook of his arm. I bursted out laughing, Brian not taking long to follow in suit. While Billie simply rolled her eyes from her spot on Chloe's lap (I was very excited to see their wedding invitation in my mailbox). Chloe coughed and turned her attention back to me.
"Why don't you tell the camera why you're leaving us." She spoke with false sharpness. I almost shot out of my seat.
"I GOT ACCEPTED INTO A PRIVATE COLLAGE, I'M GONNA BE A TEACHER!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. Making Neil cringe into himself for a moment. Jim's cheers could be heard from outside the conference room as well. Chloe chuckled, clicking her pen a few times before looking back up to me with a calm look.
"Fill us in on the rest of the year." She coaxed gently. I searched her eyes to see what she meant, my baby-blue widening when I realized what she wanted. Neil grabbed my hand and leaned down so his mouth was close to my ear.
"You don't have to, Angel." I nodded at his words, but kept my composure.
"The years been a bit tough too... um, my m-mom passed away and that was... shattering. But, with the help of Jim, Pam, and of course all of you." I paused for a second looking around the room at my family. I turn my head so my eyes meet Neil's hazel orbs. He gives me the same smile that captured me all those months ago. "I can finally say; I'm exactly where I'm meant to be."
The sound of sniffling fills the room and everyone turns to stare at Chloe, who had a tear falling gracefully down her cheek. She looks up from her note pad and scowls.
"If any of you tell anyone I have a heart, I'll kill you all one by one." I hide my giggles into Neil's shoulder while Billie coo's at her lover.
"Aw, babe! That's so sweet of you!"

I looked at my barren desk with an empty expression. This office has been my home for thirteen months, two weeks, and three days. It put me through medical bills, an absent father, a few awkward dates, and college tuition. I inhale deeply through my nose, taking in the coffee scented walls and the smell of warm paper from the printer.
I turn to my left and see Micheal talking to someone animatedly on the phone, using his hands to emphasize his point. My eyes crinkle at the corners remembering all the times Micheal's screaming in my year: "that's what she said!". I turn to my right and notice that the plants are looking a bit droopy. It hurts my hear to know I won't be the one watering them anymore. I brush my short hair out of my face and sit one last time in my chair.
After Ryan took the job in New York, Jim was able to get his desk back, which allowed me to get my desk back. In the last few month of me working here, Jim has told me numerous times that he would have never been able to pull off some of the pranks that he has, if I wasn't sitting there waiting to help any chance I got.
I came to the realization that I wasn't scared to move because I fear change. I knew that I would be okay, because Neil was coming with me. It was him and us against the world.
I was scared because when I get a job, I can't walk up to Pam's desk to rifle through her jelly beans to get to the orange ones. I can't have silent conversations with Jim across the room, because they're not going to be there. Pam: who took me under her wing and helped me survive the insanity of the office. And Jim: the man that held me close when my mother passed and never failed to make me feel like I belonged. They weren't going to be there.
I guess I was staring into space for too long, since a warm hand on my shoulder startled me out of my zone. I looked up to see Jim with a smirk that stretched across his face.
"You're not gonna miss me or something, right?" He teased. I snorted and rolled my eyes.
"Of course not. Don't think too highly of yourself, James." The man laughed for a moment before his face became a tad bit more serious. He crouched down so that he was eye level with me.
"I'm always going to be one call away, Evie." He muttered to me. "Same thing goes for Pam. If you ever need us, for anything, we'll hop in a car so fast you won't even have time to hang up the phone."
I feel a familiar burning sensation in my eyes. I nod and smile at the gentle giant in front of me.
"Come on, I know you want a hug." He says with mock annoyance. I giggle before throwing my arms around him. His long arms hold me tightly against him, his chin resting on my head. Mine in the crook of his neck.
"I'm gonna miss you." I whisper. Jim runs his hand down my back, placing a kiss on the crown of my head.
"I'm gonna miss you too, kiddo." I pull away from him, giving him one last watery smile. Something catches my eye to make me smirk.
"Jimothy Halpert, are you crying?"
"No, it's just your perfume. I-it's really strong."

Pam was hugging me so tight that I was having trouble getting air into my lungs.
"P? I- I can't breathe." I told her, my face turning a light shade of pink. Pam's arms flew off me and she giggled.
"Oh, sorry, Evie. I'm just gonna miss you so much." She told me with teary eyes. I went back on what I said three seconds ago and pulled her in for another hug.
"I'm gonna miss you too, but hey! It's only Virginia and you can't get rid of me even if you tired. I felt Pam's laugh vibrate through her body. I finally pulled away, kissing her once on the cheek and then pointing at her. "If I don't get a wedding invitation; I will sue you."
"I promise, you will be the first one to get one." She swore with a bright smile. I beamed at her, giving her hand a light squeeze before walking over to the camera crew to give my final goodbyes.
I took my place at Neil's side who looked down at me with a small smile. I could tell he was upset about leaving, and I told him over a million times that he didn't have to come with me, and that we could try a long distance thing. But, he told me to: and I quote, "Just shut up." Before taking my face in his hands and kissing me hard, which led to... other things.
Brian and Doug gave me sweet hugs and a kiss on the cheek for good luck, making me blush like an animal. Chloe gave me a long speech about birth control and 'Not wanting to be an aunt so soon.' While Billie told me to be, 'the baddest bitch the world has ever seen.' To which I promptly told her that I was looking at the baddies bitch in the whole universe.
Sebastian hugged me tightly saying that if I ever needed him to some sense into Neil about anything he should be the first person to call. I laughed and told him I definitely will.
"Not that you would need to though." Sebastian loudly whispered into my ear, making sure Neil could hear. "That boy is whipped."
him and me both, I thought with a smile on my face. I was pulled away from my thoughts when Neil ran a hand down to the small of my back.
"If we want to make it out of here before the traffic gets bad, we gotta go in a few minutes." I took a strangled breath, nodding my head before taking his hand and leading him over to an empty space.
"What's wrong, Angel?" He asked right away, concerned all over his voice. I place my hands on his cheeks and run my thumb across his cheek bone.
"Are you sure you want to come with me?" I ask him. Neil's eyebrows furrow as he opens his mouth to say something, but I cut him off. "Because I need you to be sure. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if we got there and you started resenting me because I took you away from your friends a-and your family-"
I stopped rambling when his lips met mine. They were soft and inviting, I sunk into his embrace, my hands traveling from his cheeks to the nape of his neck to play with his hair.
"I'm coming with you, Evangeline Walker. You are my heart, I would never resent you for anything. I love you." He spoke against my lips. I pressed my lips to his once more, pulling away to look him in the eyes.
"I love you." I whispered. All my doubts were wiped from my head. I knew Jim and Pam were in my life for good. The crew wasn't leaving anytime soon either. I was exactly where I was suppose to be. I'm the arms of the love of my life, ready to take on whatever life threw at us.
