Kalina stepped out of the car with a laugh before turning to look at Demetri, "There are about one thousand things wrong with what you just said." Demetri shrugged as he closed the passenger door. "I disagree with that," Demetri replied before wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "You ready for this?" Demetri asked as they stared up at the All Valley Sports Center. "Yeah, I'm ready for this," Kalina replied before wrapping her arm around his torso, the two walking towards the entrance.
"Hey, there's Kalina. She's okay," Bert announced while Aisha started smirking. "Yeah, she looks well and truly okay," Aisha said. Hawk glared at the sight of the two but turned his focus to Miguel who walked towards them. "Are you sure you will be able to fight?" Miguel asked Kalina the moment he approached her. "Yes, Miggy. I'm fine. Demetri did the run down and I'll seriously be okay," Kalina assured as they walked up to the others.
"Where's your dad?" Aisha asked causing Kalon to shrug. "No clue, stayed with Demetri last night," Kalina stated without caring about Hawk's presence. "The tournaments gonna start soon," Hawk spoke up, he was fuming hearing that she had stayed with Demetri the night before. "He'll be here," Aisha assured. "I don't know about that," Bert announced gaining everyone's attention. "What are you talking about?" Aisha asked Bert. "I saw him last night at the mini mall," Bert replied causing a scoff to leave Kalina's lips.
She knew the exact direction this story was going and it didn't surprise her at all, she had spoken to Robby over the phone and the two shared details about everything that had happened the night before including their father finding out the truth and Mr LaRusso kicking Robby out and firing him. Nothing ever went right for the Lawrence bloodline, that much Kalina knew for certain and due to that, bad news just wasn't so shocking for her anymore.
"I was buying a carton of milk... when I heard him in the parking lot, yelling," Bert expressed while Kalina shook her head. "Why didn't you tell us this ealier?" Aisha asked him as they all glared at him. "I don't know. I guess I'm so used to seeing him drunk, it didn't seem like that big a deal," Bert defended. "Well, we're here and he's not. So it's officially a big deal. What if something happened to him?" Hawk asked the younger boy.
"Like what?" Bert asked. "I don't know. Like he drove his car off a cliff, or bought a gun and blew his brains out," Hawk suggested but Kalina laughed gaining everyone's attention. "What's funny?" Aisha asked. "Oh, Hawk's imagination. Trust me, my father wouldn't do that. If anything, he's passed out in his own vomit and he'll be here soon. This is normal for him, don't act like it's surprising. I've dealt with it for almost seventeen years," Kalina expressed with a shrug.
"We're gonna have to do it without him," Hawk suggested. "Do what without me?" Johnny spoke as he approached them, his eyes landing on his daughter before focusing on the still fresh wound on her head. "Sensei," Aisha cheered. "We didn't think you were gonna show up," Hawk informed him. "I may not always win, but I never back down from a fight," Johnny replied to him before looking around at everyone. "All right. Let's sign up," Miguel suggested.
"Not yet," Johnny said before looking around at the students. "There's one more lesson I have to teach you," Johnny said before leading them into the foyer of the building. "You've all learned to strike first, to be aggressive, not be losers. I taught you to strike hard, put every ounce of your power behind everything you do. But I haven't taught you the third rule of Cobra Kai," Johnny explained as he walked in the middle of the circle.
He stood in front of his daughter, his eyes softening for a moment before focusing again. "No Mercy. The older you get, the more you you're gonna learn that life isn't fair. You wake up one morning feeling great, and then life throws a spinning heel kick to your balls, takes a big steaming shit in your mouth. You get an "F" on a test, you get suspended. You fall in love with a girl, and some other dude comes and steals her away," Johnny expressed but Kalina noticed the determined yet pained look on Miguel's face and it worried her.
"Car gets set on fire, and your little girl is hurt because of it," Johnny stood in front of Kalina again, the blonde looked up at her father with a determined look showing she wasn't backing down from the tournament. "Just when you think things are going good, everything falls apart," Johnny continued while Kalina and Hawk made eye contact, the blonde looked away first before finding Demetri's eyes not too far behind them. "That's how it goes," Johnny bought Kalina's focus back.
"Life shows no mercy, so neither do we. We do whatever it takes to keep our heads above water. We do whatever it takes to keep moving forward. We do whatever it taked to win! Remember who you are. You're badass! You don't give a shit! You kick ass! You're Cobra Kai," Johnny finished off his speech, a small smile on Kalina's face. "COBRA KAI!" Miguel screamed out, the team cheered with him while Johnny nodded.

"So?" Kalina asked Demetri as she walked out of the change room in her new Cobra Kai Gi. "Hot and badass. It's very you," Demetri said with a smile, Kalina smiled as she walked towards him. "Thank you. I thought so too," Kalina chuckled softly before the two went quiet. Kalina looked over to see Mr LaRusso, she let out a slow breath. "Go find a seat, I'll see you after," Kalina said to Demetri, the boy nodded before turning to walk away.
"Wait..." Demetri stopped and remembered Hawk's words, Live in the moment and decided to go for it. Kalina turned to him and Demetri leaned down and kissed her cheek, just barely brushing the corner of her lips, "For good luck." He then turned around and walked away leaving Kalina standing there with red tinted cheeks and a small smile on her face while Hawk, who had witnessed it, felt a pit of sadness, jealously and anger form within his stomach.
Kalina cleared her throat as she approached Mr LaRusso, the older man turned to look at her but she was focused on the banner. "My dad always hated when I bought up that tournament, but growing up, I saw true potential in his loss rather than a win," Kalina expressed. "Kalina... look-" Daniel stated but Kalina cut him off, "I know you have this grudge with Cobra Kai and my dad but don't be too hard on Robby. All he's ever wanted was a father, or at least someone to look up too."
Kalina turned to the former champion, "Robby had bad intentions at first but along the way, he found somewhere that made him feel special and for a Lawrence or a Keene, that isn't easy. Just... Think about it. Robby really does look up to you, he even almost convinced me to join you. Don't let anger blind you because it only gets in the way of true potential." Kalina smiled before turning away from Daniel. "Kalina," Daniel spoke softly, she turned to him. "Best of luck today, I'll be cheering for you," Daniel smiled at the girl, who for the first time since before Cobra Kai started, shared one of her bright beaming smiles.

"From Reseda, returning to the tournament, we have-" Daryl was cut off as the Cobra Kai students jogged into the room chanting Cobra Kai before standing in a straight line with their heads high. "Now that's what I call an entrance. And a badass name for a dojo!" Daryl spoke through the microphone. Kalina stood between Miguel and Hawk, the blonde searched the crowd and found Demetri sitting next to Moon. Kalina didn't have it in her to dislike Moon, the girl wasn't at fault, Hawk was and so she smiled at both Moon and Demetri.
"And finally, fighting unaffiliated from North Hills, we have Mr Robby Keene," Daryl announced causing Johnny and Kalina to look at each other, niether knew about this and Kalina was instantly worried. Robby jogged by Kalina, his eyes softened before he reached Johnny, smirking at him as he went by. "All right folks, get ready! It's karate time," Daryl spoke with a smile causing the crowd to cheer wildly. Kalina let out a slow breath as she stood with Cobra Kai watching the Cobra's in their separate fights.
Kalina watched as Miguel was stopped by Johnny before the mat, their Sensei whispered into his ear before letting him walk onto the mat. Kalina noticed her father's gaze land on Daniel as Miguel stood in the same stance Daniel did when he won against Johnny. Miguel's kick sent his opponent down causing the crowd to uproar. Miguel won against him gaining two more points. Robby was the next two fight, the Lawrence girl watched anxiously as he won the fight.
Aisha won her fight which lead to Kalina cheering wildly for her, the Robinson girl smiled at her before the two embraced each other, not noticing the look of envy on Sam's face considering she had lost both best friends. Hawk was next and though the guy he was fighting was well balanced, Hawk managed to kick his ass fairly quickly. Which lead to him removing his top and screaming like a madman, though Kalon laughed she shared a 'what the hell' look with Demetri.
Finally, it was Kalina's turn to fight against a boy that was at least a foot taller than her and fairly built. She bowed to the referee before bowing to the boy. "You're done for, princess," The boy stated harshly before they got into fighting positions. Kalina took a deep breath, deflecting his punches before kicking his side and bringing her fist to his face gaining a point, the Cobra's cheered for her.
But the boy was pissed, he got back up and back into his stance, this time he moved quicker and sharper. The boy cornered her and kicked the back on her leg before jabbing her side and finally, he spun and kicked her in the head. Kalina hit the mat hard, she felt a headache start to form considering it had only been two days since her concussion but she refused to back down. She pushed off of the mat, prompting the crowd to cheer as she got into fighting stance.
Kalina jabbed towards him, he deflected her punches and attempted to kick her but she caught his foot. She wrapped her leg around his, pushing down before jabbing his face but he managed to block and push her away. The blonde rushed forward and raised her leg to kick him but he hit her leg away and flipped her over his shoulder and onto her back before jabbing her stomach earning a point. "Next point decides," The referee informed them as they got into fighting stance.
Kalina's heart pounded in her ears as she prepared herself. The boy smirked before rushing forward, jabbing punches and forcing kicks at every opportunity but she continued to block and deflect his hits. Kalina flipped away and made an attempt to kick him in the chest but the boy took advantage of her vulnerable stance, slamming his foot on the back of her knee causing her to groan but she forcefully kept her balancing ignoring the searing pain in her leg.
She let out a shaky breath before forcing weight on her leg, Johnny watched closely but it was Daniel who realized her leg was as injured as his was in the championship. "That's not good," Daniel voiced to his wife who looked at him with furrowed brows while Sam panicked slightly. Kalina glared up at the boy and pushed off of the ground in an attempt to send a kick into his chest winning her the point, however, he simply dodged her and managed to grab her arm, twist it and slam her down harshly on the mat.
Kalina groaned loudly in pain as she gripped her shoulder, the referee pulled him away. "We need a medic!" The ref called as Johnny rushed over and knelt down by her side. "It hurts, dad..." Kalina cried, her stitches that were in her forehead broke and split causing blood to seep down her head while her shoulder was clearly dislocated and her knee was in a similar state. "You'll be okay, Kali. You did your best," Johnny assured her. "My best wasn't enough," Kalina replied harshly as they moved her onto a stretcher.
"Stay with them, dad. Please," Kalina begged knowing he'd understand the underlying truth; she wanted him to make sure Robby didn't get too messed up. "Okay. But I'll be there the moment this is over," Johnny promised. "After we win," Kalina smiled at her father as he kissed her forehead. "Yeah," Johnny nodded before he let them take Kalina out of the room. Johnny glared at the boy who had been disqualified for an illegal move.

Kalina was lying in the hospital bed with her leg perched up on a pillow, her arm in a sling to keep her shoulder in place and new stitches in her head as she watched random videos on her phone. "Knock, knock," Demetri's voice gained her attention, she smiled up at him. "Hey 'Metri. How was the rest of the tournament?" Kalina asked as Demetri sat down on the chair next to her. "Cobra Kai won. But that Robby kid got badly hurt for it to happen, your dad didn't seem too happy," Demetri explained.
Kalina sighed before looking at Demetri, "Robby is my brother. My twin brother, 'Metri." Demetri raised his brows at that information. "Oh wow... It was Miguel who fought Robby, after Hawk did. But anyways, how are you feeling?" Demetri asked wanting to steer away from the Karate tournament. "I'm feeling better than I was hours ago. And even better now that you are here," Kalina smiled. "That's good..." Demetri trailed off as he looked up at her.
"Kalon─ Can I do something─ that I would only usually dream of doing─because I am not someone who does such a thing so... confidently but─I just─" Demetri rambled making Kalina smile. "Demetri..." Kalina said sternly. "Yeah?" Demetri asked softly, he wasn't sure what to expect, but mostly rejection. "Shut up and kiss me," Kalina ordered making Demetri look up at her with wide eyes. "Uh, yeah... definitely," Demetri exclaimed before moving from the chair.
He leaned down over Kalina ─ awkwardly due to the hospital bed and her body position thanks to her injuries ─ and slowly their lips connected causing a shiver of delight down Kalina's spine. Demetri, who had never kissed a girl before ─ his pillow, yes, but never a girl ─ wasn't certain what to do so he let Kalina lead the kiss. Neither of them aware of the boy standing near the door watching them, the small teddy bear holding a get well soon balloon in his hands as he watched the two before storming away.
