"STOP SAYING THE BUS DROVE ITSELF!" The man yelled into the phone as he violently slammed it into the table before putting back to his ear. "Okay." He inhaled sharply trying to prevent himself from lashing out.
"Yea, Willie was right, this guy's a total pro." Reggie snickered as they all silently laughed the mans actions.
"All right, boys and gal, let's the magic happen." Luke smiled as he quickly turned to Alex with a stern look "Alex, no dancing."
The blonde immediately ignored the boys request as he got into a ballet format and began to dance over to the lady's desk, he pushed over a cup of pencils and pens which caused the woman to groan. She reached down with a annoyed look which caused a long enough distraction for Roxy to grab a pen and write Julie's phone number while Reggie typed in the video for edge of great.
"Hurry!" Roxy muttered as they pulled back right as the woman came up, her face contorted into a confused expression as she looked at the video that suddenly popped up on a laptop. But as she listened, she seemed to be sucked into the amazing voice.
"Tasha, get me CJ and tell him I need a band to open in three hours." Her boss demanded as the woman, presumably Tasha, smirked and pointed towards her laptop.
"Sure, but you might wanna check this out." The man stood up and slammed down the phone, he walked towards Tasha's desk. "Somehow this video started playing on my laptop, it's got half 1 million hits in just two days."
"Who are they?" He questioned
"They're a hologram band, they call themselves, Julie and the Phantoms." She explained as Reggie laughed and leaned in.
"Tell your friends."
"W-where are they located?" The man asked
"Our very own City of Angles."
"Book 'em!" He rushed as the group all cheered behind her.
"Sure, I just don't know how to..." She paused as she glanced down at the scribble of numbers that we're written in her notepad.
"Your handwriting is way better then mind." Luke mumbled towards Roxy as she laughed.
"I know, Luke." She turned towards the boys and grinned widely "Let's get going!" she flashed out and appeared in the garage, only a few seconds after the boys followed.
"Oh my gosh! What room you guys so long? Did Willie do it? Did you talk to them? Did they watch? Did they like us? Are we playing? Can someone answer me? Why is nobody saying anything?" She quickly spoke as her breath became short when she finally stopped.
"Whoa, that's a lot of questions." Reggie commented "Anne, you wanna take this one?"
"Alright." Roxy nodded and stepped up "First of all, take a seat," After Julie anxiously sat down on the couch behind her Roxy crouch down to meet her level "Everything's fine, everything is going to be fine, You should be getting a call right...now!" She pointed towards her home that laid on the table. "Shit, my timings a little off, just wait......now!" She pointed at the phone again as a chime when off signaling a phone call.
Julie silently cheered and just stayed still for a moment just watching the phone before Alex snapped her back into reality. "Go! Answer!"
"Oh, right!" She cleared her throat and answered "Hello?" She said in a chirpy tone.
"Hi, this is Tasha from the Orpheum in Hollywood." Right as the words rang through the room the band jumped up in celebration. "Is this Julie and the Phantoms?"
They all pause mid celebration as the room went quiet, Julie bend down to pick the phone before putting it up to her ear. "Yes, it is." They all jumped around with wide grins as Julie continued talking to the woman, Alex suddenly jumped up into Reggie and Luke's arms. They span him around as giggles and cheers left there mouths, "We're playing the Orpheum baby! Yeah!"
Alex waved his arms around as a loud laugh escaped his lips, "I'm swimming!"
โ
Luke quickly circled a song on his paper as her looked up to his friends, "Julie and I were thinking we'd start with stand tall."
"Perfect."
"Sounds good."
"Cool."
"Sounds good?" Luke scoffed at the bands low energy, "Guys! Wake up, I wanna hear, it sounds awesome!" Luke tried to encourage but hey simply stayed silent "I know this isn't how we wanted things to turn out but we gotta be all in tonight. This is our second chance to play at the Orpheum!"
"I...I get it, I get it, but it's hard." Reggie mumbled "Do we even know what's on the other side when we cross over? Do we all still get to hang together, do you me and Roxy still get to stay together?" He glanced over at the girl sadly as she gripped his hand "You...you guys are the only family I have."
"You're the only people that have loved me since my mom died." Roxy looked at her friends that she considered more as family, she truly did care for them no matter how mad they made her. They were there to show her love and support when nobody else around her did, that was something that she always held close to her heart.
"Yeah, I mean, I don't know what's gonna happen either, but...it's not like we have a choice." Alex said as they felt the familiar jolt of pain hit them, the weaker they got the more the jolts began to affect them.
"Pretty sure we do." Reggie muttered "And it rhymes with the Hollywood Ghost Club." A door behind them opened as Julie grinned widely.
"You guys ready?" She asked excitedly as the band returned sad glances, Julie smile wore off as she looked at the group worryingly. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, we just got rocked pretty hard by one of those jolt things." Alex shrugged it off as they walked towards the girl.
"Pretty sure I ghost owed a little." Reggie said as Roxy slapped his arms.
"Reg...gross."
"But we're fine." Luke said as Julie nodded but hesitantly a bit.
"I'm actually a little bit worried, Luke can I talk to you for a second?" She asked as Luke walked away from the group and towards the girl, they had a quiet conversation but Roxy could tell It was something serious by the way Julies eyes watered.
Luke turned his gaze away from the girl and called out for his band, "Guys, band circle." He announced as they all stood in a circle and held hands, besides Julie who just hovered her hands over Alex and Reggie's. "We don't know what brought us here but...what we do know is, you're a star, Julie. And just because this is our last night together, it doesn't mean we won't be watching you from above...or..whatever's happens after." The group chuckled as they all smiled but deep inside they felt so scared, the teens didn't truly know why would happen, that scared them. "Let's give 'em a night they'll be talking about 'til the sun comes up, okay?" The group all laughed as Luke put his hands in the middle "Legends on 3."
"One."
"Two."
"Three."
"Legends!"
A loud car honk caught there attention as Julie pulled back, "That's my dad, he's driving me there, I'll see you guys soon." Julie grabbed her clothes and walked out, she gave one last wave before she ran out the garage, a slow clap suddenly rang from behind them.
"Have a good show, boy band." Carlos smirked as he entered the garage, a offended look came upon Rich's face at the name.
"Who you calling boy band, huh?" Roxy mocked as she stepped up to look straight at him.
"Carlos!" Ray called out as Carlos glanced back at the empty garage, he pointed towards a vacant space between Luke and Alex before running to the car.
"How did he find out about us?" Reggie dumbly questioned as Roxy sapped the back of his head. "Wow, I thought the hitting would stop off we dated."
"I don't know Reg, maybe Rox should continue hitting you since you went a blew out cover with the blinds." Alex sneered "Or you know what? The blanket. You know it could've been a number of things you did in that house."
"It doesn't matter you guys," Luke stepped in "where not coming back here anyways." A flash appeared on top of of the piano as Caleb smirked at the band.
"And where is it that you think you're going?" Caleb innocently asked.
"What are you doing here?" Luke protectively stood in front of his 3 friends as Caleb let out a fake gasp.
"Such hostility! I'm just here to congratulate you on your big night," He chuckled "not everyone gets to okay the Orpheum."
"No, okay, we know that it's your stamp that's hurting us!" Luke shouted.
"Mm." Caleb simply hummed.
"We already told you, we have a band, we don't want to join your little club." Luke said as Alex also marched next to him.
"Yeah, and you can't make us either." Alex snapped as he cowardly stopped back when Caleb glanced at him, the blonde cleared his throat as he backed up behind Roxy. "Sir." He mumbled.
Roxy glanced down and saw Reggie picking at his fingers, when situations got difficult or he got anxious, he would pick his fingers. Roxy grabbed his hand in a way to comfort and distract him from the situation, he turned up to look at her with a nervous expression. Roxy gave him a smile in return
Caleb clicked his tongue as he carelessly looked at the group of fitness, "Right..you're crossing over tonight, so exciting!" Caleb sarcastically celebrated "Funny thing about the cross over, no one really knows what's waiting on the other side, but I know what's happening in this side." He kissed his palm and blew it towards the band which caused a fog to cover their bodies, a force teleported them into Calebs club.
They appeared backstage with brand new outfits, Caleb walked down some stairs and towards them as a sick smirk grew at the sight of the band. "Well, don't you look nice."
The all adjusted and admired the clothing clothing as Roxy pulled down the overly short dress. "Sweet threads." Reggie mumbled
"How..how'd you know our sizes?" Alex bluntly asked.
"I don't think he knew mind, this dress is shirt as hell." Roxy muttered.
"Seriously guys." Luke scowled at the duo.
Caleb sighed as he clicked his tongue, "I know you guys aren't my biggest fan, and an eternity at my club might seem overwhelming. But..I just put you in sweet threads, and a lovely dress, so humor time this one last pitch. Now for starters, isn't it nice that you're all here together. And believe me, everything you want," He specifically pointed at Alex "including Willie, is here, and on my stage. You don't vanish when the music stops, you soak in the applause for as long as you want, the connection that you will feel with that audience will be like other." He fixed up the collar on Luke's suit as the boy glanced up completely terrified "I promise." A loud crowd cheered from behind the curtains as Caleb looked up. "Oh! Shh, do you hear that? They're waiting for you."
A stronger bolt of pain corseted through their bodies, it felt like no other, it caused a loud giran to escaped Roxy's lips as she felt the pain burn through her insides. A fake wince came from Caleb as he slowly walked backwards "That one looked like it hurt."
"Because it didn't asshole." Roxy muttered.
"Ooh, I like the sassiness Roxy, keep it up." He taunted towards the girl "Now, let me remind you, you don't know if playing the Orpheum is your unfinished business. Do you really have time to make that mistake? I suggest you accept my offer, because the clocks ticking." One last electric jolt of pain blasted through their chest as Caleb chuckled. "Ouch! You know where to find me."
"I'm gonna beat his ass." Roxy muttered.
"Not in that dress, one wrong move and your exposed." Alex joked as the girl glared at him. "Sorry."
"I find it very pretty." Reggie complemented.
"Is this really the time to flirt Reg."
"Right, sorry."
"You know you wanna take a chance, and be a little bit bad, ain't nothing quite like living on the edge. So get ready to go, I'm chasing down a thrill and looking fit to kill, so listen to the words a wise men said. He said: Covington and I got an offer that you can't refuse. Ha!" He smirked towards the band "You got nothing to lose, boys, lose! Lose! Lose! You got nothing to lose, boys, lose! Lose! Lose!" As the ghost sang Alex lifted right hand and twirled the drumstick between his fingers, he looked at his hand in shock as he tried to stop but he was pulled to the stage. "You got nothing lose. Alex! Show me what you've got!" Next it was Reggie who lifted the base into his arms as he looked forward and was also pulled into the stage. "Reggie! Swing it baby, ooh!" Now it was Roxy who lightly strummed on her guitar as she felt her body twist and land right in the center beside Caleb. She felt uncomfortable with the short dress and all the eyes strung at her as she played, but soon she was shoved aside and Luke came in. "Now Luke, yeah!" He played. A riff as he slowly walked onto the stage, but he pulled back, he fought back, but the power Caleb held was too powerful. "How do you like my new band!" You got nothing to lose!" They all stood on the stage with force holding them there unable to to move, only their feet and arms moved to provide sound but they had no control.
They were trapped.
