the sunlight that emerged through the translucent curtains into jungkook's office, emphasized how dusty it was in here. little particles of the dust flew lazily around the room, making them look like something rather magical. but jungkook didn't believe in magic, so he grabbed a vacuum cleaner and a mop and got on with the cleaning.
it only now occurred to him that he never actually used his office. jungkook was so busy with missions he simply had no time. he remembered about his house which hoseok gave him and frowned, he won't be able to go back there in quite some time, for his own safety. one of the things that jungkook worried about the most, was his goldfish rebecca. the only thing left was to hope that taehyung was nice enough to keep the fish and didn't wash it down the toilet the day he "killed" jungkook.Β
jungkook has officially decided to change. for the better or for the worse - jungkook didn't know himself. because what even was good and bad? good and bad was divided by a thin glass-like border that got constantly broken.
giving it all a second thought, if jungkook decides to go out there, find taehyung and forgive him, it would make him a good person... in taehyung's eyes, but doing that would make him a betrayer in his gang. so where was the good and where was the bad?Β Β
jungkook flopped on his office chair in frustration and exhaustion. by now the office looked somewhat clean but the obscene amount of paper stacks all over the place made the place look more like the archives rather than an office.Β
jungkook looked at himself in the mirror and licked his lower lip, making the silver hooped piercing give off a slight shine. as badass as he looked, he didn't feel like it at all. in reality, he felt broken and shattered into pieces on the inside. it was strange and most of all, he didn't know the reason. part of it was, of course, taehyung, but there was more to it than what met the eye.Β
the door opened with a quiet screech and jungkook saw jimin who walked into the office with a couple of empty boxes.
"its for the papers." he said and placed them down on the floor. "help me pack it all up and I'll hand them over to jason so he can give them to the paper recycling factory."
"right..." jungkook muttered and took the nearest pile in his hands.
jimin grabbed the paper pile and carefully placed it in the box. before jungook could leave, jimin stopped him by his shoulder.
"hey, whats wrong? your image doesn't suit your mental state at all."
"I know." jungkook exhaled. "but i don't know."
"wow, that was informative." jimin responded with sarcasm and led jungkook to his office. jungkook didn't even try to oppose in any way, he just let himself get dragged downstairs. jimin sat jungkook down on the couch in his office. the silence was soon taken over by the awfully loud coffee machine sounds that pierced through jungkook's ears. in a matter of minutes, a hot cup of expresso was held in jungkook's hands.
"did you add whiskey?" jungkook asked after taking a sip and grimacing.
"only a bit. it is supposed to help you feel more awake and shit." jimin explained and scooted closer to the younger. "is it taehyung?"
"not only him..." jungkook was never the type to spill his emotions and feelings to people, but sometimes he couldn't help it, because holding everything in for awfully long periods of time was much more difficult than it seemed. as much as jimin annoyed jungkook, he actually cared for the younger and it was always like that. jimin was genuinely a caring type, and it showed.
"today is my sister's death anniversary."
"oh..." jimin frowned. "did you wanna take a day off and visit her grave or something...?"
"I would've... if she had a grave."
"wait, what?"
"I... i never told you the full story, did I?" jungkook looked down. "I never told anybody the full story."
"if you don't want to share it, its alright, I wont force you." jimin said. "but i might be able to help."
"yeona was very smart for her age... i don't even know how she managed to get murdered, honestly." jungkook pondered. "that day I went out to buy some groceries for us, but when I came back i found our house a mess... and she was in the living room, on the floor. we had no devices back then, I had no idea on what to do, I rushed to our neighbors, but they weren't home... some were, they just didn't want to open the door for me. i had to rush to the police station because the hospital was much further."
"I see..."
"but when I got back home, she was gone."
"what?" jimin raised his voice. "what do you mean she was gone?"
"I have no idea!" jungkook shook his head. "it was so weird... when I left she was laying on the floor, covered in blood, but when I came back she was completely gone. the police didn't know what to think because the blood was there, the painting, as it was found out later, was stolen and altogether nothing made sense."
"so taehyung killed her and... and what?" jimin asked. "have you searched for her?"
"of course I have!" jungkook scoffed. "she fucking vanished, dude."
"what if she is still alive....?"
"no."
"optimistic."Β
"there is no way, i am sure she wasn't breathing when i found her." jungkook exhaled quietly. "i wanted to ask taehyung what happened to her... why did he kill her and where did he hide the body."
"so you think he came back to hide the body?" jimin questioned and placed his finished cup of coffee on the table.
"he must have left fingerprints on her body or something, so in order to stay anonymous, he had to hide it." jungkook said in a low voice. "its the classics, jimin, its done like that in every detective movie."
as silence filled up the room once again, jimin watched jungkook take the last sip of his coffee. the cup made a thin clink sound as itΒ came in contact with the glass table.
"by the way..." jimin walked up to his desk and took out his phone to text somebody. "why did you need your bloody knife?"
"i had something in mind." jungkook responded and took a seat on jimin's chair.Β
"you're gonna keep it?" jimin looked at jungkook with disgust.
"no, i want to send it to taehyung." jungkook replied nonchalantly.
"now? you cant do that-"
"i know what I'm doing, jimin." jungkook said. "i wont be sending it now... i will wait for a year or so."
itΒ looked as if jimin wanted to say something else, but before he could, the door opened and hoseok walked into the office. his black outfit matched his black hair perfectly and the silver jewelry shimmered under the dim lighting. he looked hot, and for some reason, this was the first time jungkook openly admitted that.
no wonder jimin was obsessed with hoseok.
"I have a mission you might be interested in, jimin." hoseok said as he closed the door after himself.
"fuck it, right now jungkook is my main mission." jimin glanced at jungkook who was sitting on the chair, showing no emotions.
"I also want a mission." jungkook frowned. he didn't intend it, but the way the sentence came out, made it look like jungkook was desperate.
well, he kind of was.
"kook, I promise you'll get one soon enough." hoseok gave out a little smile. "you're not mentally ready, and I can see that."
"ugh!" jungkook threw his head back and closed his eyes. "this is all so frustrating."
there was this mere moment in which hoseok's and jimin's eyes met. as if they thought of the same thing at the same time and mentally agreed on it through the gaze.
jimin carefully walked past hoseok and got behind jungkook, placing his hands on his broad shoulders gently.
"you know..." something alluring was present in his soothing yet seductive voice. "we could help you get your mind off things..."
jungkook slowly pushed his head back up and furrowed his eyebrows. his eyes met hoseok's and suddenly the younger felt shivers run down his spine as jimin massaged his shoulders from time to time.
hoseok walked over to the both of them and leaned on the table. "want us to do something we did two years ago?"
jungkook gulped hard. he looked over at hoseok again and then at jimin, admiring their features. both were painfully gorgeous and jungkook wondered how he managed to stay out of their fuckbuddies relationship, because it was difficult to resist.
he opened his mouth to decline, but decided to stay quiet. after all, why not? it wouldn't hurt anyone, and most of all, jungkook was frustrated, so why not take the chance to get his mind off things for a while.
jungkook's nod was barely visible, but it was there, and both jimin and hoseok noticed it.
"it's just sex with no strings attached..." hoseok pointed out as his hands reached for his belt.
"just like two years ago..." jungkook muttered and closed his eyes, feeling jimin's hands unbuttoning his shirt and lips sliding over his neck.
"better than two years ago..." jimin whispered into jungkook's ear softly.
