for the rest of the day, jungkook refused to talk to anybody, he refused to eat and sleep. jimin started feeling bad for what he had said. he thought that maybe he should've waited a little longer before telling the news to jungkook, but hoseok said jungkook would've found out sooner or later anyway, and the earlier he'd find out, the less time he'd spend on dealing with the emotions.
in the gang, only hoseok and jimin knew that the solemn reason why jungkook got into all the gang shit was because of his sister. if the police couldn't solve a case, the solution had to be found illegally. his entire childhood backstory was purely tragic, it was a triggering topic for him. hoseok had never seen anybody so passionate about murder, he watched jungkook train past midnight every day and was shocked at the strength the younger had built for his age. not many people understood jungkook because his sister's death was something that had happened years ago and should've been long forgotten about.
jungkook never showed it, but he never forgot about that day, it spun in his mind every day and every night.

apart from doing the required missions, jungkook spent time doing research about his sister's death, but the answer was nowhere to be found. he guessed if there was absolutely no information on the killer, then they must've been part of some gang, but it never came to his mind that taehyung would be the one.
out of all people on earth, it had to be the one he loved.

jungkook took his time to think it all out. everything would've been fine if only taehyung confronted jungkook in time... but he didn't.
what was he thinking? what was he waiting for, an invitation?
jungkook wasn't dumb, taehyung had obviously figured out it was his sister he killed years ago, so why not tell him about it? it did happen way back, at the time they knew nothing about each other. jungkook would've forgiven him. and the way it all looked now was the way jungkook feared it would be.
taehyung was a liar. a liar who pretended to be somebody else with jungkook.

it was the last drop. taehyung had too many secrets and jungkook planned on discovering the truth no matter what it would take. jungkook was driven by frustration, sorrow and anger. a big part of him really wished to see taehyung dead, but a bigger part wanted to hear taehyung speak the truth, the bitter truth.

in a couple of days, jungkook found himself choking back on his tears that stung his eyes. he woke up from a dream that now felt like a nightmare. he saw taehyung and him spending time together, laughing, having fun... but then taehyung led jungkook into the forest and stabbed him. the dream felt so real, it was as if he relived the moment once more.
'i don't deserve this' jungkook whispered while wiping off the tears.

and anger took over again. jungkook washed his face with cold water and calmed down. he stared at himself in the mirror, but the person staring back wasn't the old jungkook. he couldn't recognize himself - the reflection was monster-like.
all that was left from the stomach wound was a middle-sized scar on the left side, his head was still covered with a bandage. jungkook took it off and threw the bandage in the trash bin beside him. he decided he had enough. enough of rotting here in this room, he had to do something, it was time for action.

jungkook trimmed his hair, leaving it at a wanted length. strands of black hair fell into the sink. he created an undercut and painted the ends with blood red.
satisfied with the way he looked, jungkook got out some suit from hoseok's closet and threw it on himself - a loosened tie, silky black dress shirt, and tight leather jeans suited jungkook like a glove, as if he was born to wear such attire.

"good afternoon." jungkook greeted jimin and hoseok as he entered the office. he internally smiled upon seeing a scene he was so used to seeing - a hard-working hoseok who was concentrating on his work, and jimin, who was sitting on the table, sharpening his knife.

"I see jungkook is back." hoseok took off his glasses to admire the younger.

"more like sir jeon jungkook." jimin smirked and jumped off the table. he walked over to jungkook and handed him a glass of whiskey. "you look like you're ready to have the world fall onto their knees in front of you."

"thanks, but I'll pass." jungkook gently pushed away the glass and took a seat on the couch. "so what's new?"

"we want revenge... and I think so do you." jimin sat back on the table and drank the whiskey.

"we were quiet rivals from the very beginning but now..." hoseok chuckled darkly. "all I want to see is geomeun's dead bodies at my feet."

"why so suddenly?" jungkook asked.

hoseok arched a brow and scoffed. "seriously? their member "killed" our best killer. what do you think we'd do? sit here and do nothing?"

"he's right, jungkook, they started this war, and we will end it." jimin continued. "they got a little too far. it's time to kill their pride."

"well, count me in." jungkook smirked. "it's been a while since I've used my gunβ€”"

"yeah, no." hoseok laughed. "you are not going anywhere, kook."

"what do you mean? I wanna be a part of this."

"well first of all, we are not going on a killing spree." hoseok remarked. "we are getting revenge, but we're doing it in a smart way."

hoseok went over to the clothing rack to grab his trench coat and handed another one to jimin. jimin put on his coat and went to the mirror.
"at first, we earn their trust. then, we backstab them."

"oh." jungkook stood up from the couch and poured himself a glass of water.
"good idea, and how are you planning on doing that? you really think they will trust us?"

"we will earn their trust eventually, I am sure of that." jimin said.

"we are going to ask them to sign a peace contract." hoseok explained. "we will act like we are helping them from time to time and at some point, they will have to believe us."

"alright, but I have one thing to say." jungkook stopped hoseok and jimin before they could exit.
"leave taehyung to me."

hoseok erupted in loud laughter.
"after what happened recently, I am not trusting you that much. you'll have to find something else to do."

"no, listen." jungkook declared. "you gotta give it to me. leave taehyung to me. you can whatever you want, you can kill everyone in the geomeun gang, but do not touch taehyung. you don't even know how painful it is, you have no idea what I'm feeling right now, and let me tell you the feeling is nothing close to the pathetic love I felt before."

"is it?" jimin questioned.

"I personally want to make him suffer."

"well... alright then." hoseok said. "I don't really want to trust you with this, but you're one stubborn bitch and won't stop even if I tell you to."

"exactly." jungkook responded.

jimin went over to a little table and sprayed some of his favorite expensive perfume before leaving the office after hoseok.
"catch you later, hot stuff."

hoseok appeared near the door and glanced at jungkook. "don't you dare get any thoughts. you are to stay here. we'll have to wait for some time until everybody forgets you're "dead"."

"god, what am I, rapunzel?" jungkook rolled his eyes. "i can take care of myself, thank you very much."

"really? i hope so. where were you headed to?"

"the basement." jungkook said and walked to the door.

"you're not getting any weapons."

"I'm going there to get myself a tattoo." jungkook smirked. "and I'm not planning on stopping after just one."
