TROPHY WIFE,
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
THE PAST FEW DAYS HAD BEEN AS normal as they could get. Capri had aced both her Spanish and Botany tests, Assad had gotten casted as one of the hyenas in his schools Lion King play, and Kairo had been all too focused on basketball.
But they had also been weird too, unusual. Nathan hadn't attempted to flirt with Capri once. In fact, he seemed to be avoiding her. She wasn't sure why or what she'd done to him but she was enjoying her peace.
A comfortable silence lingered in the air and warmth passed through the room. Capri sat with her knees raised to her chest just enough to see her the writing in her notebook. She looked up with a small smile, glancing over at her younger brothers who laid in her bed.
Kairo was stretched out along the end of her bed, finishing up some homework that was due and Assad laid beside her, playing on his muted iPad, his feet barely reaching his older brother.
Capri's foot reached out and tapped her brother on the leg with her polka dotted furry sock. "You know you guys have your own beds, right?"
"We know," Kairo informed her, flipping the page of his spiral notebook. "We just like being in yours."
"And it's bigger." Ace chimed in. Capri looked over at him with a smirk before playfully poking at his cheek, making him giggle as he kicked his feet.
Assad accidentally kicked Kai, causing his older brother to glare at the both of them. However, his face soon softened as his curly hair bounced on his forehead and he threw his notebook onto the floor before tackling the two, throwing the comforter on them.
There were times when their relationship was more of a mother/sons relationship than brother/sister because of the cards they'd been dealt—— a workaholic mother and a professional basketball player father but they were stable and loved each other deeply. They all took care of each other and always came before anyone else.
You could say a lot of things about the Martins but you could never change the fact that they'd go to the ends of the earth for each other.
"How's it going with Capri?" Tim grinned, tearing open his pack of m&ms as he walked around Nathan's room, scanning all the trophies and medals he'd won over the years.
"I don't know," Nathan shrugged. In all honesty, he actually didn't know. He tried to bait her in with the whole care package thing but she didn't take the bait so he had to rethink his whole approach. "She's— it's different."
Tim chuckled, popping some m&ms into his mouth. "Told you she wouldn't go for you. Man, she doesn't like you." Though Nathan was his friend, he was relieved Capri wasn't giving in to his crap.
"She will."
"And what about Peyton?"
Nathan scrunched up his face, "What about Peyton?" He knew everyone thought that Peyton was his girlfriend and she was in a way but their relationship was mostly just sexual. They didn't really talk about stuff or plan out their future. It was always about sex for them.
"I mean she is your girlfriend."
"Yeah, whatever."
Tim could see that Nathan didn't exactly care and continued. "And she's Capris friend. I don't think Capri would get with her friends boyfriend."
Nathan shrugged, nonchalantly. "Then I'll break up with her."
As Capri stood with Brooke while she rummaged through her locker, the two watched Peyton angrily storm over to Lucas Scott, slamming his locker shut.
Capri furrowed her brows, "Ooh, what's that about?"
"Hm," Brooke hummed, shutting her own locker. The girl smiled. "Let's go find out."
Brooke looped her around Capris as they made their way over to the two blondes.
"If I wanted your help, I would have asked for it." Peyton told him as the two girls approached. Capri could tell she was mad about something but she stopped speaking when she noticed them.
"Hey, girl." Brooke chimed before looking over at the boy she was obnoxiously crushing on. "Hey, you didn't happen to find my, um.."
Lucas didn't even have to say a word. He opened his locker and pulled out a leopard print bra, giving her a pointed look. Capri let out a chuckle, quickly looking away from the scene in front of her.
"Thank you, gorgeous."
Once again, Brooke pulled Capri by the arm and led her away. It was all part of her, "hey, look at me— I want you but I also want to play hard to get" scheme. Classic Brooke Davis.
Capri grinned, playfully pushing the brunette beside her. "Wow. Brooke, you're disgusting."
The Davis girl smirked, pushing her back. "I know."
Before either of them could speak again, Peyton caught up to them. "Whatcha got there?" she laughed.
"What?" Brooke questioned in attempt to sound innocent.
"You know what. The Brooke Davis leopard bra." Peyton stated, glancing over at Capri who couldn't contain her smile. "That things like a welcome mat."
Brooke let out the cutest giggle and Capri wrapped her arm around her shoulders. "We heard you were naked in his car."
"No." Brooke exclaimed. "I was partially naked. At one point, I had mittens on cause it was cold. Oh, did you see my—" she started reaching into her bag.
Peyton looped her arm with Brookes. "Ok, focus. You're a slut in mittens. You're in the car. Then what happens?"
"Well, then nothing."
Both Peyton and Capri stopped in place with confused looks as Brooke stood with a smile. The Brooke Davis leopard bra was like a middle school party invitation—— everyone got one. And every time, something happened. Brooke always had a story.
In all honesty, Capri lived vicariously through Brooke and all of her stories.
But the two remained silent and let Brooke continue. "He was really sweet. He drove me home, said goodnight and waited till I got inside."
Brooke had this stupidly cute grin which made Capri smile even harder. She was happy for her best friend even though Lucas wasn't exactly on her radar yet.
"Maybe he's gay." Peyton told her.
Capri rolled her eyes, "Or he's just a nice guy?"
Brooke nodded. "Yeah, I think he's just nice." Peyton playfully squinted her eyes at Capri, who shrugged, because she was right. "Anyway, it's gonna be so great when he sleeps with me."
Brooke giggled and continued walking as the two girls laughed at her remark. Peyton held her hand out for Capri who accepted before they followed their horny friend.
"What's wrong with her?"
"She's Brooke."
"Man, I'm sorry," Kairo apologized, motioning between both him and Jake. He, Jake, and Lucas sat around a picnic table just outside the school. "We didn't know what the team was planning."
Lucas shrugged. "Nah, it's ok."
Jake shook his head, "No, man, really. If we'd known, we would have stopped it."
As Brooke and Capri sat at the table, (Brooke in between Jake and Lucas and Capri between Jake and Kairo) Capri popped a pretzel into her mouth. "Would have stopped what? Hey, Lucas."
"Hey, Martin." Lucas smiled. Capri felt a chill when he said it. It felt nice; sincere unlike when Nathan said it. Every word Nathan said had an ulterior motive behind it. And Capri hated it. But she hated that she didn't know what the motive was even more.
"Hey, Lucas." Brooke said seductively.
"Hey, Brooke." Lucas gave her a nod before the table went quiet aside from Kai's low chuckle which he attempted to hide behind a fake cough.
Capri rolled her eyes with a smile, "Anyway, would have stopped what?" she asked, tapping Jake's forearm.
"The team," Jake said, his leg brushing against Capris. "They've been hassling Luke. They trashed the River court. Even took him out to the field."
"Well, what are you going to do?" Brooke asked, taking a sip of her apple juice.
Lucas shrugged his shoulders. "Nothing I can do. The team follows Nathan, what he says goes."
Kairo threw up his hands, "Hey!"
"Well, other than you two." Lucas added before him and Jake laughed.
"That's bull." Capri mumbled. "It's not fair for him to treat you like that when you haven't done anything wrong."
"Boys will be boys." Brooke leaned her head in her hand, growing tired with the conversation. Her eyes sparked with mischief as Nathan walked through the door. "Speak of the devil."
All heads turned at her comment. Capri pulled her scrunchie from her wrist before putting her hair up into a loose ponytail before standing up.
"Where you going?"
She ignored them and walked straight toward Nathan. He tapped Tim's arm, moving his attention to the girl walking toward them.
Tim smiled, eagerly. "Capri, hey."
"Tim." She dully greeted, keeping her eyes focused on Nathan.
"Martin," Nathan smirked, shrugging his bag on his shoulder. "How are you? Feeling better?"
"Leave Lucas alone."
"I'm sorry, come again." Nathan chuckled, looking to Tim who laughed at her statement.
Her eyes squinted, "I'm sorry? Do you see me laughing?" She looked over at Tim whose smiled washed away before he walked off to stand a few feet away. "Leave Lucas alone."
Nathan crossed his arms. "Or?"
"Nathan, do you love basketball?" Capri asked him with a small smile. He was confused by her question and even more confused by her smile so he kept quiet. "Do you plan on building a career out of it?"
"I'm going to the NBA." He smirked. Nathan stepped forward, bringing his hand up and pushing a loose curl behind her ear. "And you know all NBA players have trophy wives."
"Nathan, I live in house full of boys and I have a crowbar in my trunk." Capri stepped closer to him. "Touch me or Lucas again and your knee won't make it to the NBA, much less next Fridays game."
His smirked slowly wiped off of his lips. Capri stood on her tiptoes, brushing his hair to the side mimicking the action he'd just done before. "You can do that, can't you?" Capri smiled before patting his letterman.
As she walked back toward the table, she burst out into laughter at what she'd just done. She had just threatened Nathan Scott.
"What happened?" Brooke asked.
"Let's just say Lucas should be in the clear."
