โ•ฐโ”ˆหš ยท ยฐ . ย ONCE AGAIN, IT WAS MY MAGIC THE LED MY INSTINCTS. It was in the evening when it stirred in my veins calling forth. I had given Alec little to no explanation when I hurried him to my car, but fortunately, he knew me enough to understand what was happening.

"Can you look at it for me?" I said when my phone chimed.

"'Come to school. ASAP. It happened again.' Lydia sent it." Reading the message from my phone Alec spoke just as I stirred the car in the school parking lot.

"Good thing that we are already here." I replied. I looked at my boyfriend, his eyes were already on me.

He gave a soft smile, his hand reached for my cheeks making my anxiety melt away slightly. "It will be okay, Amore. I'm here with you." [Love]

I nodded, kissing his palm before we both exited my car. We quickly noticed Lydia. And she was totally freaking out.

"How are you already here if I just sent you the message?" That was the first thing that Lydia said once she saw me.

"I was already on my way here." I replied. "It's probably another sacrifice."

Lydia started to pace back and forth, her anxiety rising by the second.

"Lydia, you need to stop pacing. Please." I groaned, a headache forming in my temple the more I resisted following my magic.

"I can't stop pacing. And I don't want to do this anymore!" She exclaimed, her hands moving wildly as she spoke.

"Trust me, I'm not having fun either here." I sighed.

Soon Allison's car arrived. Then another one with Isaac and Sebastian. And then, the front lights of Stiles' jeep followed by the rumble of Scott's bike.

"Where is she?" Stiles asked as he quickly jumped out from his car.

"Over here." Allison called to the others.

"Lydia?"

"It's the same thing. Same thing as the pool. I got into the car heading somewhere totally different, and ended up here. And you told me to call you if there's a dead body." Lydia said all in one breath.

"You found a dead body?" Stiles exclaimed.

"Not yet." Alec replied for my friend.

" 'Not yet'?" What do you mean 'not yet'?"

"It means just that. Still no body." Alec snarked back

Turning towards the strawberry-blonde girl, Stiles stated "Lydia, you're supposed to call us after you find the dead body."

"Oh, no, I'm not doing that again. You, find the dead body from now on."

"How are we supposed to find the dead body? You're always the one finding the dead body."

"Elizabeth was already coming here. She can find the dead body." My friend pointed at me.

"Thanks."

"Guys. I found the dead body." Scott said, making us all turn towards him. And looking in the direction where he was glancing at, atop of the school sign, there it was, another dead body. This time, a deputy of the sheriff's department."

โ•ฐโ”ˆหš ยท ยฐ . ย The following day at school I tried to keep myself away from all the supernatural drama. My magic was still sizzling under my skin, ready to be used. I felt like I was about to explode.

Allison, Sebastian and Isaac all had skipped school. The Argent girl thought that his father knew much more about this situation than he was letting on, and she wanted to know what he knew.

I avoided Scott and Stiles completely. The only people that I had talked with were Lydia, we spoke briefly before lessons started, and Alec, who had been my silent shadow all morning.

"Alright, time to go home." Alec suddenly said. "You are not feeling well, your magic is all over the place, I can feel it. And you look dead on your feet."

With a groan, I rested my head on his chest. "Something's wrong. Very wrong. With every sacrifice, I can feel it even more. I feel like I'm about to burst."

His left arm coiled around my middle bringing me even further into his chest, the fingers of his right hand threaded through my hair. "We will get through this. But now we need to talk with your grandmother and see if she can help you somehow."

I nodded against him. "Yeah, maybe you are right. We should-" as I was talking a familiar scent drifted up my nostril, one that did not belong in here.

"What?" Alec asked when moved aside to feel it better. And yes, I confirmed it, it was her scent

"Cora." I breathed out.

We started running, following my cousin's scent. It led us inside the boys' locker room just in time to see Aided hit her with a round weight making her fall down.

As if waiting for the slightest trigger, my magic flew out of me in a wave. Aiden had his arms up, ready to hit Cora once again, but the strength of my magic sent him flying backwards.

The alpha quickly got up, eyes glowing red, claws and fangs out. He roared, ready to attack me but with another wave of my magic, he fell on his knees, hands to his head as pained screams and growls left his mouth.

"Elizabeth stop." Scott shouted. My eyes flashed gold for a second as if my wolf had acknowledged the presence of our alpha.

I glared at him even if I was covering a smile.

I knew that Scott would eventually be a good alpha.

Aiden roared, wanting to fight me, but this time, Alec and Ethan were there to stop him.

"Aiden, you can't do this!" Ethan yelled at his twin.

"She came at me!" Aiden answered, nodding with his head towards Cora, who was still on the ground near Lydia.

"It doesn't matter! Kali gave Derek until the next full moon. You can't touch him or Cora or Elizabeth. You know that." And with that, Ethan walked his twin out.

"Fuck, Cora!" I quickly kneeled next to her, her head bleeding heavily.

"Hey, guys, I think she's pretty hurt."

"Thanks for pointing out the obvious." I snarked back as I helped my cousin stand up slowly. "Come one, let's get you cleaned up."

Alec passed me a clean towel that I then wet under the faucet before patting it down on Cora's head wound.

"I can do it myself, you know?" She grumbled.

With a scoff I replied "Of course I know."

"You okay?" Stiles asked

"She doesn't look okay." Lydia said, eyeing Cora's pale complexion and wound.

"I'll heal." My cousin stated yanking the towel from my hand only to then wobble on her feet.

Stiles and Scott both tried to help her, only for the werewolf to ignore them, pushing them away.

"I said I'm fine."

"Sure you are." I said with an eye roll.

"Don't start, Ellie."

"Do you realize how suicidally crazy that was? What were you thinking going after them?" Stiles asked her.

But Cora's rage and grief were bubbling just under the surface "I did it for Boyd. None of you were doing anything."

"We're trying." Scott softly told her.

"And you're failing. You're just a bunch of stupid teenagers running around, thinking that you can stop people from getting killed. But all you do is show up late. All you really do is find the bodies."

After a couple of seconds of silence I raised an eyebrow at my cousin. "Who do you think you are calling a stupid teenager? Do I have to remind you that you are three months younger than me? And by the way, attaching Aiden that way, that was the definition of stupid. You know very well that you would have never beaten him, so I guess we are all stupid teenagers, you included."

"You should've killed him." Cora scoffed.

"Another time, I wasn't in the mood of staining my clothes with blood."

With another head shake, Cora started to walk away.

"She's definitely a Hale." Stiles commented looking at my cousin. "You really are all alike."

"Where do you think you are going?" Alec asked as I started to follow after my cousin. He placed both hands on my shoulders, turning me around so I was looking at him.

"I'm making sure she gets home safely without attacking anyone else." I replied as matter of factly.

"Nope, I'm taking you home. Just like we had said." Alec stated "Stiles will make sure your cousin is safe."

"I will?" Stiles asked, confused but after a glare from the shadow wolf, he nodded fervently his head."I'm making sure Cora gets home safely."

"Thanks." I snorted a laugh as Stiles quickly ran after my cousin.

"Let's go." Once again Alec stirred me by my shoulders. "See you tomorrow." he yelled at Lydia and Scott still in the locker room.

"Call if anything happens." I said.

"No, don't." Alec said after me, shutting the door close after us without waiting for the others' reply.

"Alec! What if something really happens?!"

"Trust me little witch, if something happens they'll call even if I told them not to."

I rolled my eyes amused at him, and soon, we were in my car directed towards my house.

"Ellie, you should've turned right there." Alec said, his eyebrows lowered in confusion.

"I know." I said with a sigh.

"Then why didn't you?"

"Because it is happening again. There is another sacrifice." My eyes watered as my magic threatened to overwhelm me as I parked the car ten minutes after in front of an abandoned building.

A familiar car was there, along with three scents.

"What are Allison, Isaac and Sebastian doing here?" Alec asked as he noticed the vehicle.

"They were following Allison's theories. She thought-" I was cut off by the sounds of multiple gunshots.

"What the fuck?!" Wide eyed we both ran inside.

Chris Argent had both his guns out, shooting the Darach, Allison, Isaac and Sebastian were on the floor. Even in the chaos I couldn't help but notice how Isaac covered the human boy's head with his arms.

Following the trajectory of the bullets, I focused, aiming waves of magic towards that direction. A screech followed as if they were hurt, but then, the Darach was gone.

We approached the dead man, he had his hands bound and head bashed plus he had a garrote wrapped around his neck letting him hang from the chain link fence.

Magic bubbled in my blood until it touched my tongue. "Philosophus." I said in a magic induced trance-state.

"Philosophers." Chris Argent said as he looked at me.

"Yes." I nodded.

"Isn't this Mr. Westover?" Allison asked.

"Yeah" Isaac answered.

"If we were wrong and It wasn't the guardians, but the philosophers, then why the deputy?" Sebastian asked.

With a sigh I explained "Stiles told me that when he was little, Tara, the deputy that the Darach killed, used to help him do his homework. She used to be a teacher."

"So it's teachers." The Lahey boy stated.

"The recital." Allison said "They will all be at school for the recital."

Chris Argent placed back his guns in the waistband of his pants, hiding them away under his jacket, "Then that is where we need to go."

With that decision made, we started to walk outside towards our cars when I felt a hand grabbing my arm stopping me from moving. Alec, noticing the owner of the hand, let out a snarl, eyes darkening to black onyx.

"Alec, it's fine. Give us a second." He seemed still uncertain until I added a 'please'.

With a last threatening glare towards the older man, he walked away leaving me with the hunter.

"Do you need anything?" I asked. I was confused as to why he wanted to talk with me, to be honest.

His eyes scrutinized me from head to toe, almost making me squirm in my spot "How are you feeling?" he asked with a note of concern that took me by surprise. "With every sacrifice that the Darach's make, the more nature is unbalanced. And when Nature is unbalanced-"

"It affects witches." I finished with a sigh. I decided after a second of thinking about it that maybe telling him the truth wouldn't hurt. So I did. "Honestly, my magic feels very uncontrollable. It's like a full blown mess that I don't know how to fix. It's very much unnerving."

"You should talk with your grandmother about it. She could help you." he suggested.

"I was going to do it but then..." With a hand I motioned to the dead teacher behind us.

"I get it. But maybeโ€“" He cut himself off once he saw how my head snapped to the right, eyes fogging slightly. "What is it."

I didn't answer, I just took my phone from the back pocket of my jeans, quickly going to the contact list but before I could call him, he did it.

"What is it? Is she okay? Stiles?" I quickly asked as I answered the phone call.

"Cora fainted. Her wound is bleeding again, she is not healing. My dad called an ambulance, she is in the hospital."

"Alright, thanks for calling me." I quickly ended the call, my breath quickening by the second.

"What is it? Elizabeth? Breath, breath. In and out, slowly." I followed his words, slowly breathing until I was not on the verge of a panic attack anymore. "Good, now can you tell me what happened?"

"Ellie!" Alec ran back inside, Allison, Isaac and Sebastian with him. "What the fuck happened?" He shouted enraged at the hunter.

"Cora, she is in the hospital." I started "When Aiden hit her, apparently her wound did not heal. And it should have been already."

"Okay." Chris Argent said taking the control of this situation in his hands. "You and Alec go to the hospital. We will go to the school and take care of this."

"Yeah." It was a blur the drive to the hospital. I was shaking in the passenger seat as Alec drove the car.

When we arrived a nurse led us to her room. Cora was in the bed asleep, dressed in a hospital gown with a bandage wrapped around her head. Derek was already there, his hands wrapped around one of his sister's, behind him, with his back resting against a wall, there was Peter. To many, he looked like he couldn't care less, but I knew him, and the worry was there. Silently I moved a chair on the other side of Cora's bed, facing Derek, and wrapped my hands around her. I pushed my magic trying to accelerate her healing, but what I felt was almost like a barricade.

"What?" Peter asked, seeing my expression.

"I don't know." I sighed. "I don't know." This time it felt like the weight on my shoulder doubled its weight.

I was grateful when Alec sat next to me. I rested my head on his shoulder, interviewing our fingers as I still held into Cora's hand with my free one.

It was silent in the room other than our breaths and steady beeping of the machine. It was too silent and I couldn't help but feel dread as more and more time passed, and a light breeze entered from the ajar window.

A feeling of doom was like painted in the air, and all I could do was strengthen my hold on my boyfriend and cousin.

And I was proven right when I felt my magic stirred in my veins. The last philosopher was dead and I knew that a new person had been abducted when the word 'Custos' fell from my lips. Guardian.

It all happened together as a high pitched scream echoed around our town. A scream that I was sure every supernatural creature in Beacon Hills with heightened hearing had heard. A scream that I knew exactly who belonged to.

"Lydia."

Hello everyone!!

This chapter is a bit of a mess, tbh but there are some few things that I love and that maybe you'll see much more in the future. (Guess what)

I know that I didn't write much about Cora and Elizabeth's relationship but in this chapter there is a little bit of it. Even if it is almost a fight, but yeah, they are Hales and they are cousins. It's like a sure thing to fight.

Lizzie is my sassy queen and she is tired af of the supernatural shits. I hope that with the little part where she talks about it with Chris Argent you understood a bit more of what she is going though

Anyways, thank you for reading this chapter, I'll see you on Tuesday!
