╰┈˚ · ° . THREE PAIRS OF BRIGHT GOLDEN EYES STARED DIRECTLY AT ME FROM THE DARKNESS. The brilliant scarlet red one, glaring from beside them. They growls and howls were mixed with a hiss. A reptilian hiss similar to the one that Hex, my familiar, usually do. But different in other ways. Stronger as the growl of a wolf.
I woke up gasping for air, a bead of sweat clinging to my skin.
Arms wrapped around my shaky figures, fingers brushing through my trampled strands of dark brown hair. In my distressed state I could vaguely recognize that it was Alec as his shadows softly caressed my skin. And Hex coiled her tired body around my neck.
After what felt like an eternity my breath regulated itself and I fell limp in the arms of the boy at my back.
"I've got you, amore. Sleep." His rough voice was the last thing that I heard as I was lulled back to sleep.
───── ⋆⋅⋆。 ゚☽𖦹☾ ゚。⋆⋅⋆ ─────
╰┈˚ · ° . The following morning my alarm clock woke me up. Alec was nowhere to be found, my bed still warm from where he previously was. On my nightstand there was a note. In a perfect calligraphy that I definitely did not expect from the boy, he informed me that he had gone to his apartment to change and that he would be back to take me to school. I was still tired as hell but I made myself get ready for school.
My mind continued to switch from worrying about Lydia and my vision, one that for once I understood. Well, at least the glowing eyes part.
Derek would form his pack.
The reptilian hiss on the other hand, still a mystery. That was the second time that I heard it, the first being when I had the vision the night of the winter formal. The one that was still a mystery. Chaotic, full of sound and images that made no sense, at least to me.
"Good morning" I said when I entered the kitchen. The sound of the pan fizzling and the smell of the bacon cooking filled the room. My grandmother was using his pestle to grind some herbs while also keeping an eye on the stove.
"Good morning, sweetheart" Grandmother Rosalie said, her usual joyful tone had a bit of a happier hedge to it. I understood the why of it when she continued, "Slept well?" She asked with a smile full of mischief.
She knew. Of course she knew that Alec had slept in my room, in my bed.
I groaned loudly at her, earning a snort sound from Citrin, my grandmother's butterfly-hummingbird hybrid familiar.
"Don't start, please." I said with a sigh "He just wanted to make sure I would go straight to bed and sleep. And not spending the entire night drawing or something." I explained
"Sure" She muttered under her breath with a sarcastic tone earning a glare from me.
I walked behind the stove and helped her with the cooking. I felt how the air shifted before my grandmother spoke again. "I used the blood from the gown from the hospital to make a tracking spell this morning" The spatula in my hand felt like lead as she continued. I didn't dare to even move a finger "I've got nothing. The blood trembled but it didn't move. But that means that she is still alive. We will find her don't worry" then she hesitated before saying "She is still human, Elizabeth. I felt it"
I nodded my head and for the entirety of the breakfast I continued to think about those four words. She is still human.
She got bit by an alpha and didn't die or turn. Lydia Martin was still human. Or was she?
───── ⋆⋅⋆。 ゚☽𖦹☾ ゚。⋆⋅⋆ ─────
╰┈˚ · ° . School started with a blast. Apparently there had been theft in the cemetery. The item that was stolen... A liver. Stiles and Scott thought that it had been Lydia, still believed it even when I told them that Lydia was still human and not a werewolf.
Scott, Stiles, Alec and I walked together into the chemistry class. Our teacher, Mr. Harris, had been under police protection for the last week, until now. He had been the one that gave Kate Argent tips on how to not get caught after committing arson. Those crucial information helped the Argent to start a fire and kill the majority of my family.
I never understood how a teacher such as Mr Harris, who was rude and unfriendly with everyone, was so calm and never once made a comment against me since freshman year. Now I know. He felt guilty because he knew that he, in some way, contributed to the slaughter of my family. Now entering the chemistry classroom, all of that came back in a powerful wave.
I pushed myself between the three boys, stalking into the class that was still empty of any students since the bell had still to ring.
"Miss Hale" The teacher said carefully as he looked at me weary walking towards him. "I'm- " He didn't get to finish the phrase because my fist connected with his face, and then again and again until he was sprawled on the floor spitting blood from his mouth.
No one spoke. Not Scott, not Stiles, not Alec. The class fell into dead silence. My heavy breathing and groan of pain from the teacher were the only thing that could've been heard. And then, a laugh echoed through the walls of the classroom. Loud and unhinged. Full of chaos that I could match with my own.
"Good job, amore." He said coming to stand next to me [Love]
"It wasn't your fault that you got fooled by a good looking girl, Mr. Harris" I looked at the teacher glaring with so much hatred. "What I don't understand is how you could look at me in the eyes for almost two years and say nothing. You felt guilty that is why you didn't treat me like shit like you do with everyone else." My hand grabbed his bloody chin infused with cursing energy. It could've been felt by everyone in the classroom, probably even outside, that something was happening. And I didn't care. I heard people starting to walk towards the class, making me lose a wave of magic to close the door and make the students pass by it as if they had never ever even known the existence of it.
"What is she doing?!" Scott whispered-shouted at Alec with fright. I could feel the agitation as they felt something stir in the air. They didn't know what that feeling was, but for sure it didn't feel pleasant to them or anyone else around me.
"I'm sorry" Mr Harris pleaded with his eyes
"You are a fucking coward Adrian Harris." My voice took a lower octave as I intertwined the curse into his blood. "And you will live the rest of your miserable life knowing it."
I stood up and strode out of the classroom dissolving the spell that kept the door closed. My pears gave me a wide berth creating a passway for me to walk easily outside the classroom. They had not seen anything, just sensed the danger.
"What did you do to him?!" Scott shouted as hallways emptied as the bell rang
Him, Stiles and Alec had followed after me.
"I cursed him." I stated nonchalantly
"You- you cursed him?" Stiles asked with wide eyes. He looked at Alec from his peripheral view "He is not going to turn into a shadow wolf right?"
"No" I said
"Then what did you do?" Scott growled. His hand grabbed my arm.
"Take your hand off of me before I take it off myself. And trust me, it won't be pretty" My eyes glowed gold as I talked
I felt him loosen his hold with a sorry look in his eye but before he could take it off, Alec grabbed it. He broke Scott's hand, fingers and wrist. Total black eyes filled with darkness itself glared down at the beta. "Touch her again, and I swear I will gut you and use your intestines to hang you."
Scott groaned in pain and nodded his head at the boy "I'm sorry. I didn't mean-"
"It's fine Scotty." I winked at him "Harris will just have bad luck for the rest of his life. He is not going to turn into anything" I informed him and the boys.
"Good to know. If I was afraid of you before, it's nothing compared to now." Stiles said laughing out his fear
The two best friends left in a hurry to go to class. The bell had rang at least five minutes prior.
Suddenly I was slammed into the lockers. Lips attached to mine in a flash, moving together as it was a practiced dance. It was a kiss full of passion and lust. One my hand rested on Alec's neck, the other roamed his torso. His body crushed into mine like he couldn't bear to have any space left between us. His shadows wrapped around my limbs, tendrils raising my shirt to caress at my bare skin. I moaned as I felt his hand tightened his hold on my throat as an animalistic growl rumbled from his chest.
"Elizabeth Hale in the principal office." A woman's voice from the PA speaker said.
My groan of annoyance was nothing compared to Alec's. He resisted his forehead on my shoulders muttering
"Go" He growled
"Are you sure?" I asked now amused.
He glared harshly at me, eyes darkening and bleeding to black like obsidian stone. Moving away from him, I winked back one last time before laughing my way down the hallway.

╰┈˚ · ° . To say that I wasn't panicking slightly would've been a lie. I could still feel how the wolf hiding underneath my skin and shadows had snarled. Ferociously and bloodthirsty like a hound coming from hell.
Scott had just grabbed her arm with a bit more of strength and I had gone feral. My wolf had gone feral. How I didn't even think about breaking his bones. I liked Scott, he was a good kid, but when he grabbed her I didn't hesitate, and I knew that I would do it again or even worse, just for her.
The kiss had been full animalistic, I had barely contained myself. I would've fucked her right there, against the lockers. I wanted to do it.
Not yet— I thought.
I didn't want that, just sex. I wanted her entirely. Mind, heart, soul and body. She felt like an obsession, driving me mad with just one look. I wanted her chaos, to bash in it. I wanted her scent to be mixed with mine until they merged into one only.
I was the moth and she was the flame.
It was bad, really bad–I didn't care.
I waited for her outside the principal office, overhearing her conversation. Her snarky remark and sarcastic comment were literally driving the principal mad. I could see in my mind how she was giving him deadpanned looks and freezing glares that would make the desert ice over.
Apparently, Mr Harris was still feeling guilty and probably too afraid of the girl now, so he told the principal that a few detentions were enough as a punishment.
Elizabeth walked out from that office and rolled her eyes at me "Really?"
I grinned at her widely, wrapping my arm around her. "C'mon, the bell is going to ring in few minutes"
"I am not going" She said "I need to find Lydia."
"Didn't your grandmother already try?" I furrowed my eyebrows
"Yes. I want to try another spell."
I looked at her, a somber expression covering her beautiful features making my heart painfully squeeze in my chest. "Alright. Let's try this"
She snapped her head towards me quickly. "You want to help me?"
My eyes softened at her confused look. "Yes, amore. I want to help you." [Love]
I saw how her cheeks reddened. Instantaneously, I couldn't help the cocky smirk that bloomed on my lips as I opened my mouth to speak. Before anything could come out she quickly spoke.
"Don't you dare, Di Luna. I won't hesitate to leave you writhing in pain on the floor." Her glare was as fierce as ever but I couldn't stop smirking at the pinkish blush that still covered her cheeks.
"I just wanted to ask how this spell that you wanted to try was different from the one your grandmother did?" I was definitely not what I wanted to say.
"You are an insufferable bastard." She said with a seething look. I couldn't help the laugh that followed.
Elizabeth didn't look once behind her as stormed off, but I knew that she heard me following after her still with a smile on my lips.
───── ⋆⋅⋆。 ゚☽𖦹☾ ゚。⋆⋅⋆ ─────
╰┈˚ · ° . The Warren house had, as always, that warm and cozy vibes to it. I could smell in the air the amber scent that lingered from a recently lit resin incense. There were candles everywhere, crystal and stones decorated the shelfs and a lot of the superficies. Dried herbs and flowers hang on top of the fireplace. Photos decorated the walls, I could easily recognize Elizabeth in the majority of them. Others had another girl, one that with time grew up and was joined by other people. June Warren, Elizabeth's mother. There were some photos of Oliver, Jordan and Elizabeth when they were little, some with their parents. Others even had the entire Hale family in it as it was six years ago. All the seats had pillows with knitted cases and handmade blankets. A basket full of colorful wools and knitting needles was under a bedside table next to the armchair. Still, other candles, crystals, an incense holder were on. There were two framed photos. One in gray colors, the other more recently. In the first one there were two girls in their twenties hugging each other and making silly faces to the camera.
"That is my grandmother." Elizabeth said as she caught me looking at the photo "The other girl was Lorraine Martin."
"Martin?" I asked with raised eyebrows
"Yes, Lydia's grandmother. Her and grams were best friends. She died a couple years ago."
"She actually really looks like Lydia" I said noticing how similar they were
I saw the small smile that bloomed on her lips as her eyes caught the sight of the second photo that was next to that. It was probably just taken not much time ago. Elizabeth and Lydia doing the same poses of their grandmothers in the other photo.
"We will find her, Ellie. I promise." My thumb sweeped the tear that trailed down her eye.
"You can't promise me that" She scoffed.
"I just did." My tone was so soft and the words felt so true in my mind that they even took me by surprise. I wasn't one for softness. I thrived in the darkness of the shadows, in leaving a trail of anarchy in my path. Softness... I didn't do softness. But for her I would be unhinged as a child born of chaos and soft as if my heart was made of stuffing and not from darkened muscle. "Do your thing, little witch." I said
The hybrid girl guided me upstairs. Down the hallway there were three doors. The one on the left led into Elizabeth's room and I guessed the one to the right, to Mrs. Warren's bedroom. She opened the third door, the one that one down the hallway directly in front where the stairs ended. As soon as the door opened, I felt the amount of magic that was inside even if the room looked to me completely bare.
Elizabeth hesitate a second before speaking "I need your blood if you want to enter this room"
"I don't know if I want to enter from the amount of magic I can feel" I said in total honestly
"It's our magic room. Most of our equipment is here. Old journals, our grimoires, various supplies."
"And you want me in there?" I was confused. Witches usually are very protective of these things.
"Alec, give me your blood or wait downstairs" She said losing her patience
"How much do you need?" I asked.
"Just give your hand" She entered the room and came out with a knife in her hand. An athame, a ritual knife. I nodded at her and she didn't waste another second to slash my hand. Blood poured from the long cut dripping down on the floor before it vanished. I heard Elizabeth muttering under her breath before with a wave of power the empty room transformed into a full old style one. Bookshelves high as the ceiling. I could feel the magic oozing off from them. There was an entire section dedicated to herbs, plants and flowers in glass jars. Other crystals and candles. In the center there was a circular coffee table. Cushions surround it.
Elizabeth moved towards the bookshelf, her hand raised in front of her. I could see her eyes moving behind her closed eyelids and moments after an old looking book flew from one of the shelves directly in her hand. She sat down on one of the cushions at the low table and placed her hands on top of the grimoire. The book opened and pages started to shuffle around until they stopped to a specific one.
"Found it" She said
"Found what?" I asked
"The spell that I need" She said while moving around the room and collecting things "The normal locator spell requires the blood of the person or a close relative. It gives you their exact location on a map. A more advanced one on the other hand, can give you visions on where the target is."
"What is the catch?" I asked as I sat too at the low coffee table
"It's more dangerous. It requires more strength because of the visions. Those can drain you and easily kill you. Not every witch has them because of that."
"So you could die while doing this spell" I slightly shouted
"I've been having a lot of visions during these last months" She gave me a deadpanned look "Remember?"
I rolled my eyes at her "So you won't get hurt by this spell, right?"
"Probably not" She answered me with the most unbothered tone that I've ever heard.
I did not like the sound of that. As Elizabeth took the salt jar in her hands, ready to form the circle around the bowl filled with different herbs in front of her, I grabbed her wrist. "Probably means that there is still a possibility that you will get hurt." I said through clenched teeth
"Yes, Alec." She snapped "There is a possibility that it could hurt me" But then I saw how her eyes took on my rigid form. How my shadows appeared around me trying to shoot away. "I will be fine, I promise"
"You can't promise me that." I said gruffly.
I could feel her breath on my skin as she slightly stood and leaned across the table. Her lips hovered near mine. "I just did."
That's just like how I promised her that we would find Lydia. "Fine." I groaned. I sighed out and kissed her forehead.
It didn't take much for her to start her spell. She finished her bowl of ingredients with a necklace. I noticed that it was similar to the one that she was wearing. Latin words passing by her lips. The wind started to blow inside the room, no windows were open. As soon as she cut her hand and blood spilled into the bowl, drenching the wings necklace, her chanting grew louder and louder.
I felt the hair on my arms stand as goosebumps appeared on my skin. I knew that Elizabeth was a powerful witch but the waves of magic that she sent through the room were nothing that I'd ever experienced before.
Then, her head snapped backwards. Her body rigid and her eyes moved behind her eyelids with quick movements. Her claws extended from her nail bed and when her eyes opened, they were of a brilliant gold.
I knew to never touch a witch during a spell was still ongoing, so I stayed put in my seat, shadows frenetic around me.
After what felt forever the wind stopped and Elizabeth gasped. Her body falling limp but I was ready to take her in my arms.
"Are you okay?" I asked while brushing a strand of hair away from her eyes with one of my shadows.
"Perfectly fine" She chuckled but still, her breaths were quickened. "Thank you for not making me drop head first on the floor."
My hand cupped her cheek, softly caressing her skin with my thumb. "Only a fool would drop a girl like you."
"One that can kill with a snap of her fingers?" She asked with a grin.
I smirked down at her, her jade eyes shining brightly for the first since the night of the winter formal. The sparkle that had been muffled by the last days event "There it is" I whispered
"What?" she furrowed her eyebrows in a confused manner
"Nothing, little witch" To my great annoyance she decided to sat up "So... What did you see?"
"The forest." I could feel how confused she was. "But I know where to find her." She smiled now, wider than any I had ever seen her do as she stood up "C'mon" She offered me her hands to help me up
───── ⋆⋅⋆。 ゚☽𖦹☾ ゚。⋆⋅⋆ ─────
╰┈˚ · ° . Of course, the bike couldn't take us all the way. We had to park it on the side of the road and run through the woods. Elizabeth guided us both. I had a bag filled with clothes for Lydia on my shoulder having taken it away from the hybrid.
Elizabeth strode through the woods as she was completely in her element, as she knew the way to her best friend almost as if going from the kitchen to her bedroom. It took us about thirty minutes before we finally found the strawberry-blonde girl.
Walking completely naked with twigs and dirt to only cover her, Lydia stood there. Eyes wide as coins, trembling from the cold and fear, I could even hear her teeth chattering together.
"Lydia?" I heard the soft voice of Elizabeth
"Ellie?"
"Lydia!" The hybrid girl ran at full speed towards her best friend, almost crushing her into her arms. "You are okay, you are okay"
"Not okay, I'm freezing" The strawberry blonde said, her usual cold and bitchy tone somewhat squashed by the events.
"Right, right" From the bag on my shoulders, Elizabeth took out the clothes. Simple underwear, a pair of sweatpants, shirt, hoodie and heavy blanket.
Giving them my back, I avoided looking at Lydia as she changed, having seen more of her than what I actually wanted to.
"How did you find me?" Lydiaa asked with trembling voice
"I–" Elizabeth stuttered not knowing how to explain it to her friend
"We had been searching for you since you went missing," I said, still looking upwards. "I know how to track." My lie was as good as it could get, falling from my lips easily.
"Hello, Alec. You can look now" The shivering girl said, attempting to smile "And, thank you."
"Hi Lydia. Glad to see you again." I quirked her a looped smile
Sirens loudly sounded in the distance, only thanks to my super hearing I could hear them. Then, a familiar scent drifted up my nose. Scott's scent.
I snapped my head towards Elizabeth at the same time she did it towards me. She stepped forward, leaving her friend out of hearshot. "Go. I will follow the sound of the sirens. I'm sure we will find the police or something like that" I didn't like that. I didn't want to leave her here alone. Well, alone with Lydia but still. Her lips pressed against mine all of sudden and it wasn't even a second later that I started to kiss back, taking control of it. "Go." She repeated more firmly. She quickly moved back so that I wouldn't be able to drag her back into my arms and with a last wink, she side hugged Lydia and they both walked away.
I growled in my chest but nonetheless I followed the scent that brought me to Scott. The boy was following another werewolf. I kept into the shadows, the place where I was more comfortable being as I ran behind them.
"Stop!" Scott yelled at the other wolf. But he didn't listen. A trap had been activated and the new wolf was now captive. Wires bounding his wrists. Derek was near, he was the one that dragged Scott away from the scene.
"What are you doing? I can help him." The beta struggle in the grip of the new alpha
"You can't." I said, coming out from the shadows. Derek gave me a nod of acknowledgement "They're already here."
And that was when the hunters stalked out from their hiding places as the activation of the trap allerted them. Chris Argent approached the werewolf and shocked him with an electric batoon until he shifted back to his human form.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" The hunter demanded
"Nothing. Nothing, I swear."
"You're not from here, are you?" The hunter asked and as the werewolf didn't answer his voice raised "Are you?!" He shouted
"No. No, I came... I came looking for the Alpha. I heard he was here. That's all. Look, I didn't do anything. I didn't hurt anyone. No one living. He wasn't alive in the ambulance. He wasn't, I swear." The wolf was getting more and more panicked by the second
"Gentlemen!" An older man said with more force in his tone "Take a look at a rare sight." He then looked at Chris Argent "You wanna tell them what we've caught?"
"An Omega."
"The lone wolf! Possibly kicked out of his own pack. Or the survivor of a pack that was hunted down. Maybe even murdered. And possibly alone by his own choice. Certainly not a wise choice." The older man said. He unsheathed a sword as he continued "Because, as I am about to demonstrate... An Omega rarely survives on his own." As he finished his sword cut through the werewolf belly. He cutted him in half.
"Look. Look. Look at them! You see what they do? This is why you need me. Why we need each other. The only way to fight them is together." Derek said to Scott
"What are they doing?"
"Declaring war." I said through clenched teeth
"We have a code." Chris Argent said to the older man
"Not when they murder my daughter." Kate. The Older Argent stabbed his sword into the ground. "No code. Not anymore. From now on, these things are just bodies waiting to be cut in half. Are you listening? Because I don't care if they're wounded and weak. Or seemingly harmless. Begging for their life with the promise that they will never, ever hurt anyone. Or some desperate, lost soul with no idea what they're getting into. Or part of some ancient truce. We find them. We kill them. We kill them all."
The Older Argent declaration of war sent rage through my body. He wouldn't even respect the truce with the witches. His words echoed into my mind as I made my way back to my bike. I drove around the city enjoying the adrenaline from the speed, then when I had thought that I was driving home, I had found myself outside Elizabeth's house. Two heartbeats coming from inside. I climbed the wall where her window was. I could see that it was closed. My shadows swiftly moved the latch making the window open. I slid inside her room, she was already in her bed, but I knew that she wasn't asleep. I stopped in my tracks waiting for her to literally throw me outside the window with her magic but what she did was the complete opposite.
She turned around facing me, not saying anything, she just moved the comforter from the space next to her revealing her dark purple sheets. Shedding on my leather jacket, hoodie, shirt and shoes, I slipped inside her bed bringing her into my arms.
"Lydia?" I asked in a whisper
"At the hospital. But she is okay, she will get out tomorrow. She doesn't remember anything." Her finger traced patterns on my skin as she spoke but I felt how relieved she was "What about you?"
I didn't want to tell her. I didn't want to ruin the peace that had been created between us, but I knew that she needed to know. So I told her everything. We didn't move or talk after that until I heard her voice, mumbling softy in a whisper "Ostende mihi stellas."
The ceiling vanished and in its place the stars shone down on us. "What-" I was mesmerized by the view
"This is how the stars look seen by the galaxy" She said softly, her eyes not moving from the beautiful sight above "Alec?"
"Yes, little witch"
"The bite can only kill or turn a human " She said "Lydia didn't do any of those things. Meaning..."
My head snapped to her as I understood her train of thoughts "She was not human to begin with"
"I don't want the others to know yet. Not until we know for sure." Her voice was barely above a whisper as she talked
"Alright" I said, matching her tone. "Then we say nothing"
Her lids became heavier by the second. The view of the stars above us was mesmerizing, sure, but nothing could get close to how she looked as she serenely fell asleep in my arms.

Hello everyone!
Really long chapter, more than 5ks words.
Elizabeth cursing people that wronged her>>> She is a badass. I love her.
Alec going all overprotective on her is something that you'll see a lot ;)
I might have mentioned before that the witch/demon thing is actually inspired by a book but I never said which one. It's Gothikana by RuNyx. I really liked that book and the whole witch/devil thing that the main characters have going on, so I took inspiration from it.
Anyways, thank you for reading this chapter, I'll see you on Saturday!
