"Took you long enough to find me."

"That's-"

"You left Viktor all alone after your parents died."

"That's because they shipped me off to Fiji!" Peter raised his voice which earned some stares from the people nearby, he noticed it too and took a deep breath. "All the way to the other side of the world. If I tried to leave the country, Felon has some contacts at the airport who will report me to him and I'm a dead man. At least he still has some humanity left to provide me with a new identity and an one room apartment."

"But obviously you escaped at some point." I stated.

"Took me over fifteen years to do so. The first three years I worked and studied non-stop trying to earn as much money to be able to pay for the school fees in the technological school and pass the entrance exam for it as well. The next four years were spent in school and managed to graduate. After that, I worked for a company for five years to gain experience and such to finally achieve my goal which was to work for the airport security. Once I started working there, I had to work my way all the way to the top tier to which took me three years be able to access those people who were not allowed to pass security. That part was very tricky for me as my name was not in the usual domain but in another private domain as the person in Felon's contact did some off the books shady stuff. Once I did it, I immediately flew all the way to some quiet part of France and laid low."

"And you kept tabs on him."

"The both of you, actually. Took me a while to track you down and all I had to do is make you and Viktor meet. I've observed the route that you took back to your place and cross reference with Viktor going to the bakery around the corner. Viktor still hasn't found peace after all this years, trying to find out what happened to me and I also knew that I had to take down felon."

"Now he's gone." Tears were threatening to escape, I held them back.

"It's not your fault. I should've seen him sooner when I had that chance, but we at least texted that day when he died." I saw him wiping away his tears.

"So what now?" I asked after a minute of silence.

"I'm supposed to be the one asking you that question, you're staying at a mansion with the prince of Spain."

"How did-"

"I tracked the location of your phone."

"I'm going to let that slide for now."

"Can't believe you're in bed with the prince." He scoffed. The hell-

I narrowed my eyes at him then he realised it came out wrong.

"I meant figuratively, not literally." He cleared his throat.

"He gave me a list of people who could be working with felon and help cover up the investigation."

"He ask his grandfather for help?"

"Yeah... but they're not exactly on good term right now, I don't want to force him into anything since he's done so much for me already."

"You met him in Palencia?"

"In a coffee shop, didn't know he's the prince at that time." I was stupid to not have seen that coming.

"How'd you find out?"

"He booked a cabin for a day and some guy posed as a delivery guy tried to kill either one of us or both."

"So which is it?"

"Don't know, I'll ask him about it later." I shrugged.

"Well, I have somewhat of a lead of my own, I know the location of where felon stores his drugs in Spain. Thought your prince could help to raid it, capture some of his men and try to get through to them."

"Great job, just send me the address later."

"Will do. And it was nice to finally meet you, Alveanea."

"Likewise, glad you didn't give up on finding me."

"I'm a man of my word." He stood up from the bench.

"I'll see you soon, Peter." He nodded and walked away.

I sat on the bench for a few more minutes before finishing my drink and walking back to the mansion. When I returned back to the mansion it was already one in the afternoon, ate my lunch which was placed outside my room, then went back to the files. I was so engrossed in what I was doing that I got startled when there was knocking on the door. I got up from the couch and opened the door to see Nicandro in his private school uniform. He looks really good.

"Sorry for being two hours late than I said I would be back, I had a meeting at the castle, can't ditch it." He gave me an apologetic smile.

"It's okay, I was still going through the files, I only have a few of them left."

"Join me for dinner?"

"Sure, just give me a minute to freshen up."

He nodded and walked down the hallway. I went to look in the mirror and was kind of mortified of how I looked. I had tied a low bun, but the shorter strands of my hair were tied down with the bun anymore and my shirt was crumped from sitting in the same position for so long. I quickly retied my low bun and put on a thin jacket over my shirt.

"How was your day?" I asked as I took a bite of the steak.

"Hectic, loads of duties to get back on." Nicandro sighed.

"You make it sound as if life of a prince is not fun at all." As a person who spent more than half of her life in foster care and years living in the streets, having loads of money and having people giving a damn about me what I want.

"Its not. Excluding not having to worry about financial issues and having power over people, there's nothing great about being a royal. Having the news outlets talk about you everyday, paparazzies following me any chance they get, the whole country to have high expectations for you, always have to worry if anyone who try to get close to me have another agenda, unable to marry whoever I want and having to deal with assholes which you've met one of them."

"On second thought, being a royal is not how I've always dreamed of."

"So how does it feel now that you've met a royal?" He smirked. God, I can never get sick of his dimples.

"I mean, if there wasn't someone there trying to kill us when I found out, I would've freaked out."

"I think you would have done something more than freak out, since I'm good looking and all." I rolled my eyes at that, trying to hide my smile.

"Ah, that again. You're never going to let that go, are you?"

"Never." He grinned.

We ate in silence for a minute or two before I broke the silence.

"What happened to the guy that tried to kill us? You didn't tell me."

"He managed to crack and revealed that he was sent to kill you for the warehouse incident on Thailand, I didn't want to tell you as you've got-"

"You can tell me, I can handle it. My life has been like that for about two weeks now."

"I'm here if you need someone to talk to."

He moved his hand and put it on top of mine. My heart soften a little at the gesture.

"Actually, today I met with the pilot who was flying the plane my parents were in that crashed."

"Did you get the answers you wanted?"

"Yeah... they're dead. But when he told me that I didn't feel sad or anything..." I trailed off.

"Its normal to feel nothing. Yes they're connected to you biologically, but they weren't present in your entire life, you didn't know them at all. So, its okay to not feel anything towards two strangers."

"You're right, thanks for that." He smiled and removed his hands on mine to continue eating.

"But on a serious note, felon knows I'm involved in the bombing incident in Thailand and he's coming for me."

"You know I won't let anything bad happen to you."

"Yeah, but he'll not stop hunting me down until I'm dead." Wait, is Zen alright? I'd better contact him later.

"Agreed, we need to narrow down the list of suspects fast."

"I'm on it, but how can we interrogate them without being too discreet?"

"I've got a plan. We're going somewhere tomorrow."
