The Warewolf AU (5/5) || 03

Yoongi's eyes fluttered open, the lines of restlessness never leaving his forehead as he glanced up seeing a hand holding a black cup with steam rising above it. He nodded, gesturing towards the table and Taehyung placed the coffee there before taking a seat next to the older.

"Is Jimin okay?"

Taehyung thought for a moment about tha and shrugged his shoulders, "Probably not. He's just hiding it well, to pain."

Yoongi found himself nodding to that. His hand reached forward, holding the cup and took the first sip which made his face scrunch up, glancing at the warm liquid once and then at Taehyung, "-the crap is this?"

"I didn't make it, Jimin did."

"No, it's not even coffee." Yoongi sighed, "Jimin-ah what did you put in this?"

Taehyung laughed a little, glancing at Jimin's confused expression when he walked out of the kitchen, waiting for Yoongi to repeat what he just said.

"What is this?"

"Coffee?" Jimin raised his eyebrows as if questioning everybody's sanity at this point.

"It's not coffee. You probably mixed something else."

"Ah really?" Jimin scratched the back of his neck, sighing deeply and took the cup from Yoongi, tasting it himself. He coughed, squinting his eyes at the liquid and wiped his mouth, "Goodness, it tastes like crap. I'm sorry, I didn't pay attention to what I was doing..."

Yoongi stood up and patted Jimin's shoulder, "It's okay, it happens. But you need to stop spacing out so much, we have to be careful with things Jimin. I know it's hard for you, and I don't wanna make it more bad, but we gotta keep going yeah?"

Jimin nodded subtly, inhaling from his mouth as he looked away then back at Yoongi, "Did you get any information?"

"Hmm," Yoongi gestured him to sit, "Osccur's apparently heading to the city, and I believe it's because Jungkook is there."

"To the city?" Jimin frowned, "He has Aera with him hyung, we can't leave him like that."

"Yeah, but the kind of stubborn guy he is, he won't accept any help from us right now."

The youngers nodded, agreeing with him as they, too, were aware of how Jungkook is, "We have to head to the city soon," Jimin sighed, voicing his thoughts with a firm determination, "I won't leave my brother to fight against Osccur's alone. Be ready, we might need to leave any time."

"Wof pwease!" Aera jumped on her place and Jungkook laughed a little, holding her hands.

"Alright fine, but you have to stay quiet okay?" The brother said, earning an excited nod from the toddler. He smiled at her before slipping into his wolf body, showing off the pure, white fur and ocean blue eyes that Aera possessed too, just like him. And he knew if she could ever become a wolf, she'd look very much like a female version of him.

The girl stood up, reaching out for his face, tugging on his ears or just simply booping his nose. Jungkook heaved out a sigh and sat down on his place, as usual letting the kid play while he rested for a while. Aera giggled, climbing on his back then getting down on the other side, then climbing back to the front again, and so her little game went on.

Jungkook had his eyes closed with a virtual images of the previous day encircling his mind, of his brother — Jimin, the other hyungs, even Aera's crying face and then his own tears at last.

"Koo" Aera mumbled, sitting between his forelegs. Jungkook looked at her, leaning closer and licked her face making her giggle.

"Koo, Chimin oppa at home... le's go." She said and the wolf paused for a moment, staring at her with eyes gleaming in fear and sympathy. He averted his gaze, lowering his head and tugged on his sister's dress, pulling her closer, as if giving her a hug of reassurance.

Aera flinched, turning her head towards the door then glancing back at Jungkook who shifted back in his human form, frowning at the door as he didn't expect anyone right now. He stood up and sat Aera on the bed before walking towards the door. A strong scent filled his nostrils, halting his feet mid motion, he gulped thickly, eyes fixated at the door knob.

He quietly, looked out through the peeping hole after locking the door and released a breath, glancing at his sister who sat playing with her kitty plush, unaware of the danger awaiting outside the room.

He turned around, scanning through the room and stopped staring at the window. The only problem that struck his brain was that the room is situated more or less hundred meters above ground and he has his three-year-old sister with him.

"Oppa–"

"Shh" Jungkook whispered, placing his index finger against his lips and walked up to her, carrying her in his arms. "Be quiet okay?"

"Okay" Aera whispered, nodding her head.

They glanced towards the door again, hearing another knock. Jungkook shook his head, grabbing his bag and unhooked the securing-belt from it's back side. Standing Aera on the bed while trying to see if he can use the belt to carry her with himself while running and stuff.

"What is this?" Aera asked, grabbing the straps from him to which the boy didn't respond. He wrapped it twice around around her waist and used a t-shirt of his to avoid getting her hurt from being too hard and tight.

"Jeon Jungkook," He heard a low growl, "I know you're there, there's no hiding from us boy."

Jungkook sighed and looked at Aera, securing all the knots tightly on himself after making a baby-carrier-thingy with his t-shirt and the strap of his bag, "Listen to me okay?" He whispered, "We'll be playing a game now."

"Game?" Aera's face lightened up on hearing the word and Jungkook nodded forcing a smile for her.

"Yes, we have to escape from the wolf outside. He'll try to catch us and we have to run." He said, knowing they won't be able to fight in the city in front of hundreds of people. "Riri and Kookie will be in a team and help each other. You have to hold me tightly and not let go, no matter what, okay?"

"Yes!" Aera chirped, wrapping her tiny arms around his neck and hugged him with all her little strength.

"Fine, I'll have no problem getting this goddamn door down!"

"Keep your eyes closed and don't be afraid, oppa's here." He whispered, patting her back and kissed her head once before turning around and opening the window as he heard the vigorous banging on the door, making the hinges loosen with time.

"Jeon!"

Jungkook smirked at them, jumping down from the window, shifting into his wolf form and landed on a balcony below him, earning gasps from the couple sitting their. He jumped out again, on top of a trolley truck this time and then finally on the ground, making a bustle start from the people shouting and running around on seeing a wolf in the street.

He glanced up, ignoring the people and saw the men jumping down just as the way he did. Jungkook shook his head, seeing the trolley moving and the three getting stuck on the tenth floor balcony.

"Oh my god! It's a wolf!" People screaming and yelling while huddling around to save their lives, not knowing it was Jungkook who had to save his and his sister's life. He should be absolutely crazy to stop and hunt right now. Stupid humans.

Running towards a safer place was all he wanted at this time, somewhere he can let Aera go for a while and fight the three wolves chasing him with the only purpose that he knew was to take them to Osccur's and do who knows what.

After a while of running and occasionally glancing back, he could still see the three coming behind along with faint sirens filling his ears. They call cops to catch wolves? Jungkook found himself laughing internally at the intense boldness of human race that the species actually thought it would work.

"The current state of his busi–"

Namjoon sighed, throwing the remote control aside on the couch and laid down having nothing better to do while the rest were busy with their own stuff. His eyes rolled to the side, brows arching up as he spotted Taehyung rushing down with a horrified expression.

"Turn on the TV!" The boy exasperated dramatically, shoving himself beside Namjoon and shook him wildly.

"Yah! Leave me!" The older groaned, pushing him off of him.

"Yoongi hyung! He's not listening!"

"Joon turn on the damn television!" Yoongi growled, jogging inside gestured Taehyung to go and call the others.

"People recently reported to have seen wolves roaming in the city. Some even claim to be attacked by them, but saved their lives due to their bravery and strength."

"Our source tells us there have been four wolves seen near the main city hall. Nobody is noted injured an–"

"What?" Namjoon frowned along with the others who joined them too.

"God! That's Jungkook and Osccur with his wolves!" Jimin gasped, seeing the pictures repeatedly flashing on the TV screen while the news anchor kept blabbering and making them sound like murderers.

"We have to go." Jin announced, glancing at Jimin and Yoongi who nodded. All six turned into wolves and sprinted out of the house, praying for Jungkook to reach a safe place as soon as possible.

Jungkook stopped in an alley near a café and quickly shifted into a human, glancing at his sister who had her eyes shut and clutching onto him tightly, probably scared from all the commotion and noise of the people. He kissed her head and unwrapped her arms from him, removing the straps and made her stand on the ground, earning an instant whimper as she tried to stay close to him.

"Hey, don't cry. You're my strong pup aren't you?" He whispered, rubbing her back, "Now listen, I'll leave you inside that café for a while alright. You have to wait for me there, then we'll go back together."

"No" Aera said, "Koo 'no leaving me..."

"I'll stay right outside, pup." He said, cupping her face with his hand and smiled, "I have to end this game right?"

"Pwomise?"

"Yes my baby, promise." He kissed her palm, "you can call me if you need me okay?"

Aera nodded and Jungkook carried her instantly, heading inside the café and looked around among all the people and between different tables. He sighed taking the corner the seat and sat her on the chair, as her small body wouldn't be visible to anyone entering from the door unless they actually come up to the table and look for her.

"I'll come real quick." He said and bent down as she pulled his hand, "yes?" He asked, glancing back hoping they three won't show up until he's out.

Instead of saying anything, the toddler leaned forward and licked his cheek, "Me wuv you" She mumbled, smiling at him, "Koo is stwong an- and en' the game..."

"Yes." He smiled, "Stay here okay?"

His eyes darted towards towards the door, hearing people screaming which indicated that they're coming. He headed towards the counter, tapping his hand hastily and ordered, "Banana milk and brownie on the last table, please. I'll pay after coming back from the restroom."

"Alright sir." The girl smiled and saw him heading outside, "but that's not the right way–"

"I'll use the public restroom!" He shouted, disappearing behind a group of people running in fear.

The motion intensified as another growl was heard and Jungkook jumped forward, snarling at the three wolves who stopped, defensively standing at a distance of few feet from him. The shorter, grey wolf pounced first on Osccur's signal, attacking Jungkook right on his neck. However Jungkook dodged once, biting the his hind leg and jerked him back earning a loud growl, for the opponent probably broke a bone.

The other leaped ahead, attacking from the back. Jungkook rolled to his side, throwing the wolf away and glared at Osccur who just watched Jungkook biting harshly on his pack-member's neck until he was devoid of life.

Osccur scoffed, eyes shifting from the angry, younger wolf to the crowd. Jungkook followed his gaze, seeing a few men stepping forward whom he recognised as Osccur's pack as they changed forms, earning several gasps from the humans who had stuffed themselves inside café, shops or cars.

Jungkook cracked his neck, pushing the dead wolf aside and prepared to fight another five along with Osccur. Growling loudly, he glared at each one of them, Osccur's indifferent face making his anger touch heights knowing he'd be smirking right now seeing Jungkook surrounded by his pack.

Five against one. That is unfair, and Jungkook was taught no better than to fight and win. Always. Biting down someone's neck, or scratching someone's face and hurting their eyes, wasn't going to work for too long. He was getting tired and they were still three despite of two being thrown dead by him.

Jungkook growled in pain and anger, as one caught him near his shoulder and one biting harshly from the back of his neck, hoping he'd give up soon under their firm grip. That's when his claws dug into the former's inner belly, tearing his body open and earning a loud groan of pain from him as the black wolf laid on the ground, trembling and whimpering in the pool of his own blood.

Jungkook's white coat was laden with blood and dirt now, panting through his mouth he glared at the two left and Osccur who had his eyes wandering around. Osccur moved aside while Jungkook was busy with the rest of his wolves, he sniffed around catching the scent of the kid and followed his senses.

The people started screaming seeing the large, dark-grey wolf, Osccur, jumping in from one of the broken windows of the café and scanned through the area, sniffing the air frequently.

"Oh my god the kid!" A lady shouted, "somebody help the kid!"

Jungkook's ear perked up, turning his head towards the café, unable to see what was going on in there. He pulled himself away from the wolves and sprinted in the direction of the people, scaring the life out of them. He growled, seizing upon the older wolf, on hearing his sister cry, making Osccur stumble to his side and Aera fell from his grip.

He glanced at the crying toddler, reaching out for him to carry her. He flinched, hearing a few loud snarls all together and turned around hastily ready to fight whoever it was. However his body felt stuck to ground for a moment, seeing Jimin hovering over Osccur while throwing daggers at him with his gleaming red eyes.

Jungkook sighed in relief, taking a step back and lowered his head, licking Aera affectionately for her to stop crying. He caught her shirt by his teeth and picked her up walking to the side of the café and sat her away from the violence. Turning around, his eyes landed on one of Osccur's alive members about to attack Jimin while he faught Osccur.

He growled, stepping in between before the wolf could reach his brother and pinned him down, killing the fifth wolf in the last one hour and breaking his own record of three from his final training years.

Jimin left Osccur once he stopped moving and turned to Jungkook who had blood dripping from his neck, back, legs and of course his jaw. The younger glanced at him once and then at Aera, earning a nod from Jimin.

Yoongi walked up to Jungkook, tapping him gently with his snout, gesturing him to get up and they should leave this place as soon as possible. Jungkook didn't respond, just stood up walking painfully behind the elders. Meanwhile Jimin brought Aera from the back, not wanting the people to freak out after seeing the wolves taking the kid with them.

Jungkook suddenly remembered about not paying the café lady and stopped on his track, heading towards the alley and changed into his human form, groaning loudly due to the much lower pain tolerance compared to when he's a wolf. His clothes were soaked in blood and couldn't bear even the smallest movements in his body.

"What the fuck are you doing Jungkook?!" Taehyung gasped, kneeling down near the youngest boy, "Do you wanna die? Get back as a wolf right now!"

He wasn't lying, there was thick chance of Jungkook dying if he stayed like that. The amount of injuries the boy had were beyond human capacity to be hurt and experience pain, and blood loss.

"I didn't... I didn't pay..." Jungkook breathed out.

"Are you crazy?!" Jimin exasperated handing the crying toddler to Jin and came near the younger brother, "You care about not paying?! You can die Jungkook! Change into the wolf for god's sake!"

"Sorry..." Jungkook nodded slowly, closing his eyes slowly.

"I don't wanna hear sorry, just do as I'm saying." Jimin said, seeing Jungkook's breathing falling slower. "Jungkook please! Just listen to me for once!"

"Yeah... I'm alive... I'm alive, relax." Jungkook hummed.

"This guy..." Jimin breathed out, frustrated by his behaviour and knelt down, using his hand to lift his head up.

Jungkook looked at him for a second, dropping a tear the second he lowered his gaze again. Jimin's eyes showed pain and concern as much as Jungkook was suffering with. The brother sobbed, choking on his tears, leaning forward with a groan and hugged Jimin, crying into his shoulder mumbling hundreds of sorries.

"Jungkook please... it can be fatal, get back as wolf." Yoongi said.

"Forgive me please..." Jungkook said, eyes searching for Jimin's.

"We can talk about that later Jungkook, jus–"

"N-No I snitched, I... was blind to see past th–"

"Shh," Jimin wiped the younger's tears, his own trickling down on seeing Jungkook like that, "Don't say all that, just please turn into a wolf. If you consider me as your hyung, then please do. Because I- I don't wanna lose my brother again... I don't wanna lose you again, Jungkook."

Jungkook stared at him and nodded subtly, turning back into his wolf form earning sighs of relief from the elders. Jimin shook his head, petting Jungkook's head and leaned in as Jungkook rested his forehead against him.

"Hyung..."

Jimin's attention shifted towards the bed once  again where Jungkook laid, letting out painful groans while Jin treated the wounds on his shoulder and neck.

"Yes, I'm here." Jimin said instantly, "It's almost done."

Jin smiled seeing the two boys acting like littel kids. Their bond definitely grew stronger after almost losing each other forever. Jimin would keep an eye on the younger, making sure he was fine and not hurting too much, or occasionally telling Jin to be more gentle while treating Jungkook.

Meanwhile Jungkook, was occasionally letting out salty tears, laying on the bed with his eyes closed. Yes, because of the physical pain, but more because of the emotional pain he gave his hyung.

The door clicked open and Yoongi walked in, holding Aera in his arms. Jimin gasped, seeing a cast on her right hand and tear stains on her puffy cheeks. The toddler leaned towards him, reaching out with her free arm, as a gesture for the brother to carry her.

Jimin sighed, glancing at the two of his siblings both injured and hurting, "I'm sorry, I couldn't do anything..."

"It's not your fault Jimin." Yoongi said.

"He's right," Jin nodded showing that he agrees with Yoongi and said, "Jungkook will be fine soon, and about Aera, I'm sure she'll be able to get the cast off in a few weeks too."

"Yeah," Yoongi said, "In four weeks."

Jungkook opened his eyes faintly making out his hyungs' conversation and glanced at Aera, "Ri... you okay?"

Aera stared at him with worried and confused eyes, seeing him hurt so bad. She glanced at Jimin and pointed at Jungkook's shoulder, "Koo ouch..."

"It's done." Jin smiled and stood up, "Just don't move too much. Call us if you need anything alright?"

Jungkook nodded, turning his head gently to look at Jimin and Aera, wincing in the process which was enough for Aera to realize he was in pain.

"Koo..." She mumbled and a tear slipped down her cheek.

"I'm okay, baby." Jungkook said, smiling a little. Jimin sat on the edge of the bed, close enough from where Aera can easily hold Jungkook's hand.

"Come here." Jungkook nodded for his sister to give him a hug, making Aera wiggle in Jimin's arms instantly wanting to hug Jungkook and lessen his pain like her oppas always did to her.

"Jungkook, you're supposed to rest." Jimin said.

"I am resting." He replied quietly and looked at him, "Hyung... I'm sorry for that day, I shouldn't have said all that to you. It wasn't your fault, I'm really sorry for talking like that to you, for hurting you, for leaving you, snitching on our pack... and- and just everything, I'm sorry hyung..."

"You don't have to apologise Kook, it's fine. I understand what you were going through at that moment. Honestly, anybody would've done the same–"

"You wouldn't have done the same..." Jungkook said in a hushed a voice, "I know it... you wouldn't leave me ever, the way I left you. You wouldn't take Aera from me, the way I did... You wouldn't blame me for everything, like I- I did to you. That's the difference between me and you, hyung... dad was right, you're the real champ and his bravest son. I'm not that... I can never be that, maybe he knew it from a long time."

"Jungkook it's not like th–"

"I'm not upset hyung, I just realized how everything dad did was actually right. I was just too blind to see anything beyond what concerned me, and that is not how Alphas are right? They see everything and analyse everything, and then take a decision to keep their pack safe. You are the true Alpha hyung and you deserve it, no matter what anyone says. Those who couldn't see you rising, left and probably lost their battle because they didn't fight as hard as you."

A soft and sincere smile, tugged Jungkook's lips upwards, "I'm learning from you hyung. I'll be your bravest wolf an make you proud."

Jimin found himself smiling at the younger's words and leaned forward, ruffling his hair, "You already made me proud so many times Jungkook, even today, you fought all those Osccur's wolves alone and protected your sister. You are my bravest wolf, pup."

"Pup!" Aera chirped, looking at Jimin who chuckled.

"Kook's a pup too." He said.

"Koo is wof, Riri is pup."

"Okay fine." Jimin sighed, seeing Jungkook grinning at Aera with a fond expression. "Take care of yourself please and get well soon. It hurts to see you like this."

"Hyung I... I wanna say one more thing."

"Yeah, say it."

"I snitched my pack, went against you, disrespected you and the worst, I became the reason for your tears... I should be punished. Like any other wolf who ever did this, I should be punished too and I'm ready for that. I'll accept whatever punishment you and the hyungs give me."

"Hmm, right about that." Jimin nodded, "How about doing the chores for the whole month?"

"What?" Jungkook frowned as that is nothing like a punishment in their world. He had seen traitors being treated like shit and being tortured and sometimes even being killed. Yet here his hyung was proposing chores of a month as the punishment?

"Yeah, once you get better. You'll be doing all the chores if you're actually that desperate for a punishment."

Jungkook stared at him slowly breaking into a smile, mentally thanking his dad for giving him a brother like Jimin. Their attention shifted towards a tiny mumbling sound and realized Aera had fallen asleep in Jimin's arms between their boring talk.

"Wuv you oppa...Koo" She mumbled, stirring in her place, sleeping peacefully, making the brothers smile at her.

Oppas loves you more, baby.
