𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐫 we literally told you all that we were going out
𝐝𝐲𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐤𝐞𝟐𝟓 and that we weren't invited
𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬𝟐𝟒 the whole premise of girls night is that there are no men allowed

"And New Jersey New York Gotham FC select for their first pick, seventh overall the defender from the University of Michigan. Number seventy three Lillian Fraser!" The announcer called out as the camera panned out to the girl who was embraced by the hockey players that convinced her that each and everyone of them deserved to be there

"Holy shit!" Luke cheered as he was getting his best friend back,

"I'm going to Jersey!" Lillian's eyes lit up at the news,

"Go get your jersey," Ethan kissed her lips before he placed his hand on the small of her back as he softly pushed her to the aisle.

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 months ago and the umich boys as well as Luke and Lillian were well into their respective sport seasons. She hadn't spoken to Ethan in about three days as he was preparing for an away game, as she waited for a response back her lock screen stared back at her allowing her the chance to relive the snapshot that the group had taken after the draft as she had her jersey on now.

"Order five, order five!" The worker called out as he put the blondes food on the counter,

"Thanks," Lillian smiled as she took the food from the boy and began the short walk that she had back to her apartment.

She blasted the playlist that Ethan had created during their summer in Europe. The elevator ride was quick and as she was alone she took the moment to dance along to the music,

"Honey I'm home!" Lillian called out as she opened the door letting out a laugh,

Luke was playing table tennis with Jack as the older Hughes brother came to visit.

"Always nice to see you," she added as she sent Jack a smile.

"Hey Lilly," Jack took a moment to notice her and that caused him to lose the point,

"What did you get us?" Luke clapped his hands together as he smelt the comforting scent that was Chinese food.

"You got your usual," the day Lillian and Luke moved in they teased out the restaurant and since then it's been their favourite place.

Lillian practically collapsed onto the camp chair as she was tired,

"We are never moving like ever again," she groaned as her feet were killing her due to the continuous travel they were forced to do going from Luke's car to the apartment with boxes.

"Took the words right out of my mouth," Luke nodded in agreement as he didn't want to go through that again,

"Can you believe we are living together?" the blonde looked at all of the boxes that were around them,

Oh how she was not looking forward to unpacking those.

"You practically lived with us in the house,"  the brunette shot back as he let out a laugh,

"You can't judge me, you're still single!" The soccer player scoffed as she sent him a glare,

"But to answer your question, this still doesn't feel real." The hockey player let out a sigh as he tapped the bottle of his drink,

"I know," Lillian nodded in agreement as she held her drink the air,

"Here's to the first night in our first apartment," she added as she waited for the boy to clink his glass with hers,

"And hopefully many more," Luke made a cheers as he took a sip of his drink,

They were going to have many good memories in that apartment and hopefully it was going to be with more furniture.

"How was training?" Jack asked as he saw the girls athletics bag,

"Good," Lillian nodded as she sat at the kitchen table,

"Coach said that some guys from the national team have been sniffing around," she added as she had heard the rumours that the coaches of the British woman's team had enquired about her after a strong performance in the first quarter of the season. It was funny to her how she was going to represent a country that she ultimately didn't have a lot of ties to anymore as she hadn't lived there in years.

"That's great!" Luke threw his arm around the girls shoulders as he gasped at the thought of having to fly around the world to watch her play,

Now that was going to be an expensive life.

"Yeah," the blonde had to admit that she was really excited by the idea of representing her country at a national level,

"The boys said that they are coming on Sunday," Jack read the message out from his phone as he smiled at the duo,

Whilst he enjoyed having Luke living with him he almost preferred having his apartment back to himself, and it helped that he knew that Luke was with one of his favourite people on earth at his own apartment.

"I told you all that you don't need to come to every game," Lillian shook her head as she groaned,

The boys hadn't missed a single home game yet and at this rate it seem like the Devils players had no intentions of doing so,

"We've got the day off," the forward countered as he opened the bag revealing the different take away boxes,

"Well I do appreciate it," the blonde nodded as she grabbed some bowls for the three of them,

"Less talking more giving me food," Luke grumbled taking her seat as his stomach rumbled,

"You're welcome," the older duo laughed at his state before they handed him his food.

Ethan had been avoiding talking to Lillian because he was scared of revealing the big surprise.

"You can phone her you know?" Mark laughed as he sat next to his teammate seeing that his screen was frozen on Lillian's contact details,

"I'll say something," Ethan shook his head as all of the boys were trying to keep their travel plans during their rest day quiet,

"Is that gonna be so bad?" The older boy couldn't understand what the problem would be if they told the girl,

"It's sort of the whole point of the surprise," the younger boy shot back as he sighed,

"I miss her," he added with a mumble as he was considering faking a cold for the next few days just so that he could continue talking to her,

They made an effort to call at least once a week which helped them when it came to coping with the distance,

They always would snap and text meaning that the 72 hours of silence that he was giving her was the longest they had gone since she moved to Jersey.

"Me too," Mark nodded in agreement as the whole team felt the impact of not seeing Lillian around,

Her freshman duo who her now sophomores almost seemed lost without her.

"I looked for her in the crowd last week forgetting that she wasn't there," Ethan confessed as he was almost embarrassed at the fact that his brain decided to relapse and forget about her being away for a moment.

"You'll see her soon," Dylan patted the boys backs as he had enough of them feeling sorry for themselves.

Lillian made her way over to the devils players who patently stood there waiting for her,

"You played well," Nico smiled as he handed her a bouquet of pink tulips, a habit that he had picked up after every home game.

"You gotta stop getting me flowers before that lady thinks you're in love with me," Lillian laughed as she knew that he only got them from one nursery in New Jersey,

She smiled at the boys but quickly realised that something was off causing her to promptly asked the question "what have you done?"

"What makes you think we did anything?" Jack asked finding her concerned look amusing,

"It's the way you're stood," the girl explained as she motioned to the fact that it looked like they were hiding something,

"Like you're hiding something," she added as she furrowed her eyebrows knowing that something was off,

"There was another set of guests at the game today," Luke finally revealed as his teammates pushed to the sides revealing his old teammates behind them.

"Oh shit!" Lillian gasped as she looked at the umich hockey team,

And the new freshman edition to the team that she didn't know but still appreciated their support.

"What are you guys doing here?" She added as she almost wanted to cry being thrown completely off guard,

"Figured we'd do the hour drive to watch you play before we went back," Mark shrugged as he was the first one to hug her,

Ethan was hot on his tail smiling when it was his turn "hi princess,"

"You played really well," he added as he kissed her head not caring about the fact that her hair was still wet,

"Oh my god you guys got to watch my goal!" The soccer players eyes lit up as the realisation set in that the boys had seen her debut goal,

"And we appreciate the celebration you put with it." Dylan nodded as he smiled.

The boys and Lillian sat in the sophomore house as they were coming up with celebrations for her to do if she ever scored.

"No hear me out?" Mackie shook his head as he mimicked someone running to a corner before he stopped and gave a salute before he bowed,

"That's cute," Lillian nodded as she smiled enjoying the little touch that he added with a salute,

"This one is better though," Dylan shook his head as he slid across the floor on his knees cheering,

If you couldn't tell the boys had been making celebrations for the last hour.

"What happens if I fall on my face tho?" She questioned as she knew that she would never recover from the embarrassment that it would cause her,

"You wouldn't," Dylan shook his head as he smiled.

She used Dylan's celebration and just like he had predicted she didn't land on her face,

Lillian's jaw dropped as she saw her favourite freshman that she guessed she was going to have to start referring to as sophomores "you two have gotten so big!"

"Told you she'd notice the facial hair," Luca smirked as he brought his hand up to his chin to rub his growing facial hair,

"Dammit," Rutger groaned as he pulled his wallet out now having to pay up since he lost the bet.

"We are going to go and get some Ubers to the restaurant," Jack spoke up as the boys had been complaining that they were hungry before Lillian came out,

"Maybe you drive him over so you two can talk?" He added looking at Ethan who mouthed a simple thank you to him,

"God I missed you," Ethan confessed as he pulled his arm around her once more realising how much he missed that scent of her perfume,

"I know!" Lillian nodded in agreement as she looked up at him,

"Wait is this why you've been quiet?" She asked as she cocked her head,

"Yeah," the brunette nodded as he cupped her cheek letting his thumb rub it with a cooling sensation relaxing her completely.

"Didn't want to ruin the surprise," he confessed as he leaned done to capture her lips in a kiss,

He would have done it earlier if they boys weren't around.

"I love you E," the blonde smiled enjoying the way that her lips tingled after they left his,

"I love you too Lilly," the hockey player went down for a peck this time wanting to savour the moment,

"Now how about we get to that restaurant?" He added as he cocked his head watching as the girl laughed before she pulled him along to her car.

He realised how much he valued her, whether it be for her company or for her love he knew that he missed her.

He knew that he was still in college and had a whole life ahead of him to live where he was going to grow and learn new things.

But there was one thing that he knew for certain, he loved Lillian Fraser and nothing was ever going to change that.

I have to admit that I'm sad that this book is over but I wanted to try to end it in a way that whilst we closed it off we are still able to have to open to a potential sequel at a later date.
