"What do you have in mind for her?" Luke asked as he cocked his head,

He had been dragged along on this shopping trip as Ethan didn't want to do it alone,

"I wanted to take her out but she's swamped with work that she needs to catch up on," Ethan rambled on as he looked at the different brightly coloured arrays of flowers that sat in front of him,

"So you're getting her flowers?" The American couldn't help but crack a small smile as he knew that Ethan never used to get her flowers,

He was displaying a huge level of growth,

"I'm trying to make this perfect," the Canadian let out a sigh as he nodded,

"She's going to love whatever you do," Luke pointed out as he had spent the previous evening in Lillian's room listening to how much she loved her boyfriend,

He was originally in there helping her sort out her closet before the conversation went in the other direction.

"Yeah but I want her to genuinely love it," Ethan spoke in a duh tone,

"So why am I here?" The younger boy furrowed his eyebrows as he didn't think that he was going to be much help,

"Because you're her best friend," the older boy knew that it was basically cheating but he wasn't afraid to ask for the input of her best friend,

He knew he'd be able to get the perfect gift with that input.

Lillian had been sat in her room as she and Rutger worked through an assignment they had for a history course,

Although they were in the same class they were working on a very similar project and decided that it was best to divide and conquer when it came to research.

"Since when has that cabinet been like that?" Rutger asked as he looked at the drawer that was drowned in chocolate,

"Since December," Lillian smiled as she reached out to grab a sweet treat from the neatly organised pile,

"Every time I have a bad day chocolate lands up at my door," she added as she shrugged not feeling the need to look too far into it,

"Who do you think is sending it?" The freshman cocked his head as he took a piece of the girl's chocolate bar,

"I've never actually thought about it," the sophomore confessed as she honestly enjoyed the idea of it being some mystery to her,

"You think it might be E?" She added as she knew that he was one of the few people who knew when she had those bad days,

"You think he's the kind of man to do that?" The hockey player now decided to stop working as he grew nosy resting his head against the way that her bed lay on,

He wasn't trying to be rude but the most romantic that he had watched Ethan do was tell him that Lillian was off limits,

And even that was controversially romantic.

"No, not really." The soccer player shook her head as she sighed,

"Then I think we have our answer," Rutger nodded as he watched the girl look back to her chocolate collection wondering who could have been the one to give it to her.

Ethan made his way to his girlfriends dorm as he grew nervous,

There was never this pressure on him before but he knew that he wanted their relationship to be different this time and to him if he made Valentine's Day perfect it would be a clear indicator that it was on the right track.

"Bye Rut!" Lillian smiled as she hugged the boy before he walked off,

"E?" She added as she saw her boyfriend stood at the end of the hall,

"Hi Lilly," Ethan walked over to her as he held the bouquet behind him,

"What are you doing here?" The girl asked as she cocked her head,

"I came to give you these," the brunette explained as he held out the bouquet that the nice lady at the flower shop wrapped up for him,

"Happy Valentine's Day my love," he added as he kissed her lips,

"Happy Valentine's Day to you too," the blonde grinned as she was handed the gift bag,

"You did not!" She added as she let out a gasp catching a glimpse of the yellow jersey,

Ethan had given her his jersey.

"Figured it was about time that you finally started wearing my jersey to games," the hockey player explained as he watched her place the bouquet of flowers on her windowsill before she went to her closet to get her own gift bag out.

"This is for you," the soccer player explained as she watched him look at the two gifts in there,

She had gotten the idea for his t-shirt from Pinterest where she had printed a bunch of her lipstick prints onto the front of it and then her less cheesy gift was a box of Polaroids from throughout their friendship and both attempts at their relationship.

"I love it," Ethan smiled as he pulled her into a hug,

"How long do you guys have before you leave?" Lillian asked as she knew that the boys were flying out for a road trip today.

"Two hours," the brunette mumbled as he didn't want to let her go,

"What happened to your work?" He added as he watched her smile,

"Rutger and I knocked the majority of it out of the way." The blonde explained as she was ready to spend as long as she could with him,

"Yeah I saw you two together," the hockey player nodded unaware of the way he tightened his grip around the girls waist,

"We were working on the same thing and thought it would be easier to do it together," the soccer player smirked as she watched him get all irritated,

"I didn't say anything," Ethan spoke in a duh tone as he furrowed his eyebrows,

"You had that look in your eyes though," Lillian shot back as she smiled,

He was jealous.

"I promise we are just friends," she added as she used her pointed finger to playfully tap his nose,

"I know," the brunette nodded as he sighed,

He knew that his Lilly would never actively make a move with another man whilst she was in a relationship but it was the other men that he couldn't exactly speak for and that's what caused those feelings arise.

The boys were sat on the plane as Ethan made himself comfy by the window seat,

"I'm pretty sure you're meant to turn your phone off before we go," Dylan who was sat next to the boy teased as he heard the phone vibrate in his teammates pocket,

Ethan was quick to mute his phone as he tried to subtly hide it from his friends since he didn't know what the video was going to be.

"Fuck me," he muttered as he was met with a video that the girl had taken a few weeks ago when he was eating her out.

They both had their own collection of little clips to keep themselves "entertained" with when they were apart.

"You good Ethan?" Dylan asked as he saw the boy quickly turn his phone off and shove in into his bag that sat at his feet,

"Never better," Ethan nodded as he forced his lips into a smile as he had to push down the thoughts going through his head if it wanted any chance of surviving the flight.

Lillian lay in Ethan's jersey as she scrolled through Netflix,

"Lillian?" Indigo asked as she knocked on the door,

"It's open!" Lillian called out as she was too comfortable on her bed to move,

"Hi?" She added as she cocked her head looking at her roommate,

It had been a week since they last spoke,

"I came to get more clothes," the brunette explained as she motioned to her empty back,

"We need to actually talk about this," she added as she realised how awkward this was,

She also couldn't spend the next few months like this until they left.

"I'm sorry I never told you about Ethan and I," the blonde confessed as she ran her fingers through her hair,

"I never told anyone though," she added as she wanted her roommate to understand what happened,

"Luke knew," the striker pointed out as she had seen the whole Instagram post as well as the Instagram comments from the girls other friends.

"He found out," the defender explained as she was almost glad that Luke had put two and two together,

It was just another reminder as to why Luke had grown so close to the girl,

Luke truly did know the girl in certain ways that Ethan probably did not.

"And I'm sorry for defending Kelsey," Indigo sat on the girls bed as they sat their in silence for a second.

"I would have done the same if it was Ethan," Lillian nodded as she couldn't help but agree,

She currently felt like she would defend Ethan with her life.

"So how are you two then?" She added as she wanted to know how Indigo and Kelsey were doing,

"We broke up," the brunette confessed as she didn't miss the small smile that passed over he roommates lips,

"What?" The blondes eyes went wide as she didn't expect that outcome,

She also made the mental note to do a happy dance in the bathroom the second she got the chance.

"Yeah," the striker nodded,

"We got into a fight about what she did and then she said we should end it," she explained as she remembered the argument clearly,

The first thing that went through her head after the fight was that Lillian clearly had some right gut instincts about it all.

"So where have you been staying?" The defender furrowed her eyebrows as she realised that her roommate wasn't staying with her ex then.

"Alexis," the girls mutual friend's roommate transferred during the second semester and they hadn't given her a new roommate yet.

"Not anymore," Lillian shook her head as she got up,

"Move back in!" She added as she clapped her hands together,

"You sure?" Indigo asked as she raised her eyebrows,

"Look we can unbox the fight later," the blonde didn't want to admit it but she missed the company that came along with having a roommate,

"But I don't see why you should be staying away when the cause of it all isn't in the picture." She added as her real problem was with Kelsey and not with Indigo,

"Where are you going?" The brunette asked as she watched the younger girl get up and walk to her shoes,

"Someone has to help you get your shit." The defender explained in a duh tone as she smiled,

She was getting her roommate back.

AN: I've been waiting for this Valentine's Day chapter!

Also I've wanted Lillian to send him 'spicy' texts literally by chapter 20 so this has been a long time in the works.
