Aerea was sitting in Alicent's chambers reading out loud to her as the queen got fitted for a dress with a smile on her face as she listened to the girl.

" Rhaenyra, you should be resting after your labours " Alicent said as she noticed Rhaenyra and Laenor walk into the room.

Aerea stiffened at the sight of her mother but that quickly vanished when she saw Laenor.

" Father " Aerea smiled as she ran and hugged him.

" Ohh, hello my love " Laenor smiled lifting her in his arms twirling her in the air as she giggled before setting her down as she ran to stand with Alicent, who has walked down from her stool.

" I would have no doubt, you would prefer that, your grace " Rhaenyra said bitterly.

" You must sit " Alicent said as she rested a hand on Aerea's shoulder " Talya, fetch a cushion for the Princess ".

" There's no need " Rhaenyra said.

" Nonsense " Alicent smiled.

" Your grace, Princess " Talya said walking past them to place a cushion on the couch as Aerea and Alicent walked closer to Rhaenyra and Laenor.

Rhaenyra groans in pain as Laenor helped her on the couch.

" What happy news " Viserys smiled as he walked in the room.

" Indeed, your grace " Laenor smiled.

" Grandsire " Aerea smiled as she ran towards the man.

" Ohh, my darling Aerea " Viserys smiled as he hugged her close, kissing her head before letting her go as she walked back over to the couch and began to read her book again.

" Where is he? " Viserys asked as Laenor placed the babe in his arms "..........Where is my grandson?......there......there he is ".

" A fine prince " Viserys said as he smiled down at the babe " Sturdy.....you will make a fearsome knight....yes, you will ".

" Does the babe have a name yet? " Alicent asked.

" Oh, we haven't spoken—" Rhaenyra started.

" Joffrey.......he'll be called Joffrey " Laenor interrupted and Aerea smiled knowing what the name meant to her father.

" That's an unusual name for a Velaryon " Alicent said looking at Rhaenyra.

" I do believe he has " Viserys said looking at Laenor " His fathers nose.........don't you ".

Laenor chuckled.

" If you don't mind, your grace " Laenor cleared his throat before saying " Your daughter has exerted herself heroically and should rest ".

" Of course " Viserys said as Alicent looked at the babes head before grabbing him from Viserys.

" Do keep trying Ser Laenor........." Alicent smiled after handing him Joffrey before walking at sits next to Aerea, who began to read to her.

Aerea was now in the Dragonpit with her brothers and uncles as a Dragonkeeper brought Vermax up from the pit.

" Let him come " the older Dragonkeeper said.

Aegon let out a big yawn causing Aerea to look at her uncle, Aegon noticed and winked at her making her dip her head down to hid her blush.

Vermax began to grumble as Jace forward as Vermax walked closer to his rider.

" Call Vermax to heel, prince Jaecerys " the younger Dragonkeeper said.

Vermax moved closer to Jace growling in his face causing him and the older Dragonkeeper to step back.

" Halt " Jace commanded in High Valyrian causing Vermax to halt.

" Well done " the older Dragonkeeper said.

A Dragonkeeper bought out a sheep causing Vermax to turn to the sound, Vermax growls at the sheep.

" Vermax.........Vermax " Jace shouts at his dragon.

" Halt " the older Dragonkeeper said.

An older Dragonkeeper began to speak in High Valyrian as the younger translated.

" You must hold mastery over your dragon, my young prince " the younger Dragonkeeper translated

The older Dragonkeeper spoke again.

" As prince Aegon has with Sunfrye and Princess Aerea with Aerion " the younger Dragonkeeper translated.

The older Dragonkeeper spoke again.

" Omce they're fully bonded to you, they will refuse to take instruction from any other " the younger Dragonkeeper translated.

Vermax screeched.

" Can I say it? " Jace asked the older Dragonkeeper, who nodded.

Jace looked at Aerea, who nodded with a smile.

" Dracarys, Vermax " Jace exclaimed at Vermax.

Vermax then crawled over to the sheep and screeches before lightning it on fire as the sheep yelled out before stalking over to the corpse and began to tear it apart.

Aegon and Luke walked over to Aemond and Aerea, who were talking.

" Aemond, we have a surprise for you " Aegon said.

" What is it? " Aemond asked as Aerea looked at the boys in suspicion.

" Something very special " Luke said before running down the pit.

" You're the only one of us without a dragon " Aegon said as he let Aemond towards the entrance of the pit as Aerea followed.

" Indeed " Aemond replied.

" And we felt badly about it " Aegon said as Jace began to follow them with a smirk " So we found one for you ".

" A dragon? How? " Aemond asked confused.

" The gods provide " Aegon said vaguely, they came to a stop as Luke run up pulling a pig with wings and a tail causing Aerea to look at all of them with disgust.

" Behold the pink dread " Aegon, Jace and Luke all chanted before laughing.

" Be sure to mount her carefully.........the first flights always rough " Aegon said Before snorting in his face as Aerea's brothers joined in.

" Alright, enough " Aerea snapped glaring at them " Out all of you ".

The boys shrunk under her glare as they all heard a loud roar from Aerion, who felt his riders anger causing them all to run out.

" Thank you " Aemond said sheepishly.

" You don't have to thank me, Aemond " Aerea said smiling " Your my best friend ".

Aerea didn't know why Aegon insisted on always picking on Aemond, yet he's always soft and flirty with her. She knew why her brothers did it, Jace because he just wanted Aegon to like him and Luke because Jace did it.

" Would you like to see, Aerion? " Aerea asked.

" I would like that " Aemond smiled causing the girl to smile as she let Aemond down the pit to where her dragon usually rested, which was deep in the pits, Aerion immediately lifted his head when his rider arrived.

Aerion is a scary looking dragon despite only hatching 9 years ago, his scales are black, his horns and spinal plates are blood red, and his eyes are smoldering red pits. His teeth are black as well. His flames are also black with a shot of red and he also is larger than Caraxes, hence why people call him Balerion reborn, but despite his terrifying appearance, Aerea adored and doted on her dragon.

" Here he is? " Aerea smiled before turning to Aemond " Stay here ".

" Aerion....I've brought a friend " Aerea said to her dragon, who was growling at Aemond as she creased his head " Calm down, he's my friend and he's not going to hurt you or me ".

Aerion then stopped growling leaning into Aerea's hand.

Aerea grabbed Aemond's hand and placed it on Aerion's head, the dragon leaned into the touch of the two 9 year olds.

Aemond and Aerea spent some more time with Aerion before walking out of the pit covered in ash as they laughed but stopped when they saw a member of the kings gaurd, who stomped towards them.
