After Coco went MIA, I stayed with Leti. She just started to cry. I stroked her hair as she cried on my lap. She stopped and sat up. She wiped her tears.
"I'm guessing that we're gonna stay here tonight. I don't want you to go to Celias house." Leti nodded. She leaned her head on my shoulder. "Imma get some clothes from my house. Okay?"
"Are you gonna come back?"
"Yes." I stood up and I grabbed my bag. "Ill call if anything comes up." I walked out of the trailer. "Hey, Gilly, mind giving me a ride home?"
"Sure." He put down his beer.
"Thanks Gilly."
"Anything for you Marisol." We got on the bike and went to the house. I waved goodbye to Gilly as he took off. I grabbed my keys and opened the door.
"Dad?" I yelled as i closed the door behind me. I went to my room and grabbed some clothes for me and Leti. The house was to quiet. "Papi?" I yelled out again. I checked the drive way to see if he was here, the car wasn't there. I checked his room, nope. I checked out back, he wasn't here. I saw a box on the kitchen table and being nosey, I looked inside. I saw some pictures, of who looked like my father, but much younger. Then I looked inside a yellow envelope. I pulled out a birth certificate, Ignacio Cortina. I gasped. "Papi?" I sat down and looked through the pictures. One stood out, it was him and another guy with heads of dead people. I leaned back from my chair and sat there in shock. He wasn't the person who I thought he really was. My fathers name wasn't really Felipe Reyes. The door slammed and i heard a voice.
"Pop." Ezekiel said as he walked in the kitchen.
"Hes not here." I told him, without looking at him. Ezekiel looked at me and then grabbed dads real birth certificate. He slowly put away dads stuff into the box. I saw a picture of me, angel and my dad on my graduation party.
flashback:I sat in the kitchen, looking at my graduation picture with angel and dad. Angel was looking for food since he came back from a run.
"Why don't you have food?"
"Dad hasn't been too good lately." I told Angel as he slammed the fridge door. "Angel, you know-"
"Moms anniversary. I know." He sighed. He pulled out the chair and sat next to me.
"I need help Angel, i cant do this by myself."
"I help." I laughed.
"You dont. You're barely here anymore, only when Ezekiel tells you to come by thats when you do." I sighed. "You got your house, you got the MC on your shoulders, I get it, but help out Angel."
"Im sorry. I'll try to start again."
"Please, Because when im gone, I don't know what is gonna happen with dad. I need you to be there for him."
Ezekiel grabbed the photo and put it the box. I stood up and walked to the living room. Ezekiel went to the door.
"You going back to the club?" I said. We were still at no speaking terms. I haven't apologized to him. I bet he was waiting for me to say it.
"Yeah."
"Let me come, i got clothes for Leti." I heard him sigh. I followed him outside and to the bike. We didn't say anything on the ride back. Ezekiel pulled up front of the trailer and Leti came out.
"I tried not to wake you." Ezekiel told Leti as we got off the bike.
"I-I can't fall asleep. I have to talk to my dad. He won't pick up." I sighed. Coco, where are you? Please tell me you're at Celias. Please tell me that you're okay.
"I'm sure he'll be back soon." Ezekiel said as he was gonna walk away.
"You have to take me to Celia's." Leti stepped in front of him.
"Leti, i dont think its a great idea." I told her as I walked up to her.
"That's not my business." Ezekiel and I walked away from Leti and she again stopped us.
"I lied to him. I lied to you. Celia didn't hurt me. I did this to myself." I closed my eyes and sighed.
"Leti, why." I stopped myself before I say anything.
"Jesus." Ezekiel leaned back.
"I don't know why. Get even, I guess. But but if he does anything to her, then-"
"Of course he's gonna do something. What the fuck did you think was gonna happen?" Ezekiel rose his voice. Leti stomping away from us and into the trailer. "Ill fix this." Ezekiel went into the trailer and talked to Leti. He came out with a paper.
"If you're going to Celias, im going to." I said as i was going to the bike.
"I dont think its a great idea." I looked at him.
"Its final. Im going." Ezekiel went on his bike and we drove To Celias. I looked at the apartment. "Fuck."
"What is it?"
"I might have to see her." I mumbled.
"You guys really don't like each other. What happened?"
"Making it a long story short, it wasn't how I imagine meeting Cocos mom." We walked in and I knocked on the door. The door opened.
"Hey, Boy Scout." It was Coco. I sighed as I heard his voice again.
"Hey, man." He saw me. Coco looked sad, as if he cried last night.
"Amor." He whispered to my ear as I pulled him for a hug. My hand traveled to his hair.
"Oh Coco, Letty's-Oh, man." Just as I opened my eyes, I saw Celia on the floor. I pulled back. "She's dead."
"I know. I fucking killed her." Me and Ez stood there in shock. I started to get memories about my moms dead body. I started to take shaky breaths. "Hey, baby. Relax." He put his hands on my arms. He looked at me. "Do me a favor, can you pack some stuff for Leti?" I nodded my head and headed to her room. I closed the door and sat on Leti's bed. My hands covered my mouth so the boys won't hear me cry. I calmed myself down by counting to 5. It helps. I wiped my tears as i gathered some clothes and other things Leti had. "Fuck." I said as I started to remember my mother's death. I rubbed my eyes with my hands. "Stop crying." I told myself. The door opened and Coco came in.
"Listen, im sorry."
"About what? You didn't do anything wrong." He grabbed me for a hug.
"Seeing her like that. I know it brought some crazy memories about your mom." I sniffed.
"Yeah. Its okay. Not your fault." He kissed my hands.
"I gotta go, they need me." I nodded. He grabbed my face and i looked at him. "Be brave, Marisol." He whispers. I kissed him and he walked away. I grabbed the bag and stepped out to go to the kitchen. Me and Ez jumped when Leti started to bang on the door.
"Shit!" Ezekiel said. "What if she come in?"
"Ill put her body somewhere, here." I told as I gave him Leti's backpack. I grunted as I dragged her to the bathroom. "You're fucking heavy." I said as I shoved her in the bathroom. I closed the bathroom door and I leaned against the door. I took a deep breath. Ezekiel came back.
"Where is she?" I sighed. I opened the door and her body fell.
"My bad." I said as I heard a thump. "Help me put her in the kitchen again." Ezekiel and I picked her up and accidentally dropped her. Ezekiel's phone rang. I squatted down and looked at her. "I told you, karma was gonna bite back."
"Hey, Pop." He said. I slowly stood up. Thank god it was dad. I was started to get worried. "Just heading back." Ezekiel looked me. "Shes here with me. Why? What's going on?" Shortly he hung up.
"What?"
"Dad wants us at the house."
