Crisis
My eyes slowly open, blinking a few times to adjust my eyes. I looked to my side to Coco not there. It was weird but not at the same time. He usually texts me if he goes, which I didn't get, and well, he isn't the type to write a letter. I didn't think of it, probably the club needed him.
I made my way to the bathroom, taking a quick shower, getting one of Cocos wifebeaters and some shorts for work. I made the bed, opening the blinds and went to see if Letty was home. I knocked on her door and there was no response, I knocked again and opened it. She wasn't home. It sucks being here alone. Nobody to talk to.
I head to the kitchen to get something to eat before I leave. I snacked on an apple and went to the sink to wash some dishes, but the sink got clogged and the water rose.
"Fuck." I swore under my breath. I gotta get this fixed but not right now. I tied my shoes, grabbing my bag and keys. It was a nice today, just perfect. I had the windows down as I drove to work, blasting music. Katey, the night shift worker, and I traded. I was behind the bar serving drinks. Andres walks in, he saw me and headed his way to the countertop. He took off his yellow sunglasses and placed them on the table. "Morning." I greeted as I gave him his usual. It looked like he was coming from work, he was all covered in car grease and smelled like fuel too. "Long morning?"
"Was. Thank god that its over." He chugged the bottle. I remember that he worked on sinks or something like that. I might have to ask him.
"You fix sinks right?" He hums. "Do you think you can fix mine? It just overflows and Coco isn't home."
"Yeah sure, is today okay? I gotta go visit my sister this week."
"Today is fine, yeah thanks. You Andres are a lifesaver." He gives me a smile. "How can I repay you?"
"You can pay me with a 6 pack, Stella Artois." He winks.
"Whatever."I patted the table as I walked to serve more. The door opens and it was Vicky. I felt something was off, we weren't close and ever since Riz died, she became distant. She looks at me and tilted her head to the back of the bar. We made our way back and she looks around to see if anyone was around. "Vicky, que paso? Todo bein?" I crossed my arms.
"We need to talk." She wasn't her. There was something wrong. "I need you're help."
"For what?"
"To bring down the MC." I gulped.
"The fuck?" I whispered shouted at her. "Im sorry Vicky but I would never turn my back on them, and if they even knew that I-"
"They killed Riz, what will happen next? You got shot, you could've died. What did they do to you? Nothing. Here you are, limping around. They don't care about you, even if you risk everything."
"You have no fucking right to come in here, in my job and tell me this. Im very sorry about Riz, I really am, but hes gone. And you know that my brothers and Coco would never let that happen."
"You don't think they would leave you to save their own asses? You have a death wish if you stay with them." All of the sudden my arm went up and slapped her. Andres stood up to see if I was the one that got slapped.
"Don't." I stared her down. "You need to get the hell out of my bar, now." She twitched her lip, grabbed her bag and left. I stood there for a while to calm myself down and headed to the bar and severed Andres again.
"You okay?"
"Im fine."

I went home and started to clean it up a but for when Andres comes. The blinds open, windows open, the nice smell of lavender room spray, something that won't say that we live disgusting. I changed out of my work clothes and into something comfy, which were again, shorts and Coco's shirt.
Speaking of Coco, he hasn't been home. I have left him so many calls, texts, and voicemails and still nothing. I had a bad feeling because he would never do this at all.
"Coming!" I shouted as I heard the doorbell. I ran to open it and there was Andres with his tools. "Hey! Come in please." I stood by the side, letting him in. "Thanks for fixing this." I lead the way to the kitchen, showing him the sink.
"No problem." He kneels down, opening the cabinet and starts doing his thing.
"How long have you been doing this for?"
"Ever since I could walk, my dad basically made me do this, since it's a man's job and I must know this." Now he was under the sink, laying on his back. "Does your fiancé know how to fix sinks or?"
"He hasn't been home." I started to get worried now. Its been a while. I know that I should be but this wasn't Coco. "Excuse me." I headed to the room and called Gilly. For the first time in ever, Gilly answered his phone, unlike the others. "Gilly! Hi!"
"Marisol! I haven't heard from you for a while, whats up chica?"
"I got a question for you."
"Go for it."
"Have you seen or even heard from Coco? I haven't heard back from him and the last time I saw him was last night." I got cold. Gilly didn't say a thing.
"To be honest Marisol, I haven't. He's probably off with Ez or something." With the sound of his voice, i knew he knew something but wont tell me.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'll call you if i get anything okay? I got to go." And then he hung up without me saying goodbye. I felt hurt because he knew something. Andres comes to the living room.
"Everything good?" I asked him.
"Uh, my sister called me. Family emergency. I gotta go, if I got time I'll come by and fix I swear." I walked him to the door.
"No go, i get it. Be safe." He smiled as he got out of the house. I stood by the door watching him leave, then looked back at the empty home. I heated up something to eat, sitting alone in the kitchen table, hearing myself chew. I had a feeling in my gut, not a good one. Its just pains me, not knowing what Coco is up to and I need to know he's safe, so I picked up the phone and called him. Again, no answer. I called again and nothing. That was it, I was a wreck. What if something happened to him? What if hes dead?
I know I shouldn't be thinking about that, it should be the last one to think of but come on, with everything going on, you don't know what to expect. My leg bounced as I checked my phone every second, every notification, every time my phone turned on. That was it.
The door opens and I jumped up, running to the living room. My heart dropped as I saw him standing there in front of me. Coco looks at me as if I was insane. I just broke down. Tears came running down, gasping for air.
"What happened?" I ran into his arms, sobbing. He held me close, still confused on why i was crying.
"I thought you were dead." I muffled into his chest.
"What? No." Just by his touch, I fell on the ground, him coming down with me. It pains me to even think that. "I'm not dead."
"I thought you were dead." I repeated over and over. He shushes me, kissing my head.
"Im done Marisol, I promise you. No more." He promised me. "I'll stop, i swear."
"Let me help you, please..." i touched his face. His eye, his bad one, i traced over the scar. "I don't want to lose you, I want you to know that I love you so much and I don't want you to go." Coco nods. "No quiero perderte a ti."
"You won't. I fucking love you okay? I would never let anything hurt you. You got my word." He hugs me so tight that I almost couldn't breathe. But I didn't care. I kept crying on his shoulder. "You are my everything, I don't want to fuck that up."
"I miss you so much."
"I know." He looked at me, he saw the red eyes, the freckles on my cheeks, the beautiful lashes, her plumped lips. Coco always thought whenever Marisol cries, she looks so beautiful, how can someone so beautiful cry over someone like him. He knew he fucked up, big time. "We can go look for help, okay?" He will try, anything to be with her. Drugs took over Coco, he nearly cost him Marisol and the club.
"Okay." The doorbell rang. Coco helps me up and opens the door. He was pissed as he saw Andres standing in front of him.
"Uh I came here to fix the sink." He holds up his tools.
"I told him, you weren't home and he knew how to fix it." Coco slowly nods, letting Andres in. Andres gave Coco a look before he entered the kitchen, getting started again.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"You're never home." It was true. He didn't want to fight over that because one he knew she would win and two, it wasn't worth it and it's stupid to start that fight. Coco's phone went off and he swears as he reached in his pocket and looked at the text from Angel. It was another run. I looked down, off he goes again.
"Ill be back before 11, I promise." He kisses him deeply, letting Andres see. "Wait for me."
"Okay." I closed the door behind him. Andres digs into his box, collecting the tools he needed. I pulled out two beers, one for me and one for him, the one he requested. "Here." I handed him the bottle. We clinked bottles and I took a sip. I nearly spit it back out, it wasn't good to me. Andres chuckled.
"Come on it's not that bad." He got from under the sink, he looked at me, I still had my nose watery, eyes red and my face freckled from the crying.
"Only to you." Andres stayed fixing the six for another hour, he clapped his hands and got up. "The parts are old, I can get you some new ones, replace these." He cleans his hands on a paper towel I gave him. "But these are good for now, just try not to put food or anything down there for the mean while."
"Thanks, really, you are a lifesaver Andres." I helped him walk to the door.
"Its not a problem. Hey, Are you alright? Like I'm being serious." He turns to me. "Sólo veo que has estado llorando y quiero saber si puedo ayudarte."
"No, I'm fine. It's just I was scared that's all." I rubbed my eye.
"If anything, you can always come over. Just be careful." He hops down the steps and into his car. I had went to the kitchen and started to make dinner. Maybe Letty would come home too, have a nice family dinner like the old times. I turned up the music and started with the pasta and shrimp. I then set the table, clearing the papers off of it, putting three plates, three cups and silverware.
I sat in the living room waiting. Watching tv for the mean while. 9pm became 10pm and 10pm became 12am. Nobody came home. I did feel hurt again. But whats new. I put away the food in the fridge, cleaning the plates.
I left the dark home, walking away. I found myself walking to the the home, I always seem to go to, knocked on the door, waiting for someone to open it.
"Marisol." Andres opens the door, he was shirtless and in pants.
"Do you have anything stronger than that fucking nasty beer you like?" He lets me in.
