I woke up, still dark outside. I heard a sound of the front door, like someone is trying to get in. I turned to see Coco fast asleep. I got out of the covers, grabbed the bat from my side bed. I tipped toe to the front door. I had my bat ready and just as I was gonna open the door, the lights turned on.

"Jesus christ." I jumped.

"What the fuck is going on?" Coco said as he shuffled to me. "A bat?"

"I heard the door knob, like someone is trying to get in." Coco was wide awake when i told him that. He charged at the door and opened it. There was nobody.

"Stay here." He checked around the house. He came back, locked the door. "Nothing." I sighed.

"Sorry i just thought."

"Next time, wake me up. Please dont use the bat." I chuckled and we went to the room. I placed the bat back on my side and laid down. Coco went straight to sleep and I shortly followed.

The sun came peeking out from the blinds, hitting my face. I took a deep breath and stretched.

"Morning." Coco groaned as he woke up.

"Hello there." I said softly. He laid on my chest, wrapped his arms around me. We stayed like that for a good 20 minutes. I played with his hair, scrolling through my phone.

"Imma eat breakfast okay." He slowly got up from the bed.

"Yeah, ill follow ya in a few." He walked out of the room. I scrolled through my phone again, then i got up. I put on Ez's Stanford sweater.

"Jesus." I heard Coco say as i walked out of the room. "What the fuck we talk about? Dishes clean." He was talking about Letty, who promised to do dishes.

"Hey, hey. Calm down. Its too early to yell." I told him as I rubbed my eyes.

"Don't put empties back on the shelves!" He threw his head back.

"Ill get groceries later, just let her be." I grabbed a water from the fridge.

"She knows the rules." He was upset. "Leticia!"

"Out here." We walked outside and saw Letty with food. "I got us breakfast, the place you like on 9th."

"Thanks." We sat down with her.

"Wow, my favorite, thank you." Bacon, eggs and pancakes. Letty gave me a smile.

"Mm-hmm."

"You're up early." Coco told her.

"The worm gets the early stuff."

"Yeah." Coco just hummed.

"What, I can't do something nice for you?" Letty said as she ate her food. "It's my way of saying thank you.
Keeping your promise."

"I like you living here." Coco smiled. Letty looked at me and then at him with smile.

"Yeah me too." She told him. We heard something crash in the kitchen. Lettys eyes nearly popped out of her face.

"Fuck, we had a deal." Coco quickly jumped out of his seat. "No boys."

"Coco!" Me and Letty ran after him.

"No sucias." I grabbed his arm as we saw a young girl in the kitchen.

"Coco, Coco, stop." Letty went to her side. She grabbed her arm. "She's my friend from school, Gaby."

"You don't have friends." Coco told her. Letty rolled her eyes.

"Hey." I said as i smacked his arm.

"This was a bad idea." Letty told her friend Gaby. "He's not gonna be able to help us." Letty turned around and was gonna leave.

"Hey, wait, wait." Coco grabbed her arm.

"Ow, ow." Letty winced in pain. He quickly rolled up her sleeve and reveal bruises on her arm.

"Wh-wh-what the fuck? Who did this?"

"Letty? Oh my god." I gasped as I took a good look.

"Gaby's family just came over. Her mom and little brother used a coyote." Letty began.

"This is already a bad story." Coco stood up.

"Yeah, her family paid half on the Mexican side, got here okay. When we met them, tried to pay the balance-"

"They wanted more. That's the scam."

"Why were you there?" I said as i crossed my arms.

"To help, moral support. Plus, I loaned her five grand."

"Where the hell'd you get 5K?" Coco then realized. "Your fucking tuition money?"

"We will pay you back. She did it to help me. I'm sorry." Gaby apologized.

"You're right. I don't have any friends. I'm trying to change that." Letty hugged Gabys arm and looked at us.

"They still have your family?" I asked Gaby. She nodded and looked down.

"You should have come sooner. I mean, they could have really hurt you."

"I'm sorry."

"Who are these guys, the coyotes?"

"They were bikers. When they asked for more money, I kinda told them my dad was a Mayan."

"Fuck, you gotta stop doing that." Coco told her as he sighed.

"It didn't matter, Coco. They laughed. That's when they fucked with me."

"What club?"

"Vatos Malditos." Coco looked up at me and headed to the room.

"Fuck. Lets go." I hugged Letty.

"Was that you trying to get in the house last night?" Letty looked at me funny.

"No. I had my key. Why?"

"Its nothing. Just get ready okay." I walked to the room. Coco was getting dressed. I picked my clothes out. "Who are Vatos Malditos?"

"Some fucking club Taza was in." He said as i put on my shorts. He stops and sits on the bed.

"Its not her fault you know. Shes just trying to help." I said as I grabbed his kuttle from the closet.

"Shes got hurt."

"I know. Now, you're gonna find those sons of bitches and do what you gotta do." Coco stood up and i put on his kuttle. I smoothed it out. "Proteger la sangre." We headed out. I took the car as Coco took the bike. We met up at the clubhouse. Bishop called a meeting. Everyone went in. "Hey, imma go to my dads get some clothes for Gaby." I told Letty.

"Okay, we'll be here." I waved goodbye and left to go to my dads. I walked to the back and saw my dad in the garage.

"Hey pa." I said as i walked in.

"Mija, what brings you here?" He asks as he kissed my cheek.

"Just getting some stuff for a friend of Letty." I nodded. "You look like you're having fun."

"The garage was messy, i thought i should clean it." I nodded. I leaned against the table. "Ezekiel told me you moved in with Coco."

"Yeah. Its for the best you know. Almost three years. Plus its a great thing to get out of Angels cave." I smirked.

"Im glad you're happy. You found yourself someone who takes care of you." I couldnt stop smiling.

"Thanks pa."

"Im just surprised you found someone who likes your attitude." I laughed as my dad smirked.

"Thanks, i get that from you."

"Ez's in the kitchen, just letting you know."

"Okay, ill see you in a few." I walked into the house and Ez was doing the dishes. I kissed my hand placed it on the vase. "Ma."

"What are you doing here?" He asked as he shuts off the water.

"I lived here." I said as i gave him a hug.

"Pop!" I heard Angel coming in.

"In here." Ez called out.

"Te quiero, Mama." Ez looked at Angel. Kinda weird that hes here, and looking for dad. "I grew up here too, you know." Angel said as he sat down.

"Oh, I think I remember. You were the one on the other side of the room, kept stealing all my shit." They both laughed.

"Oh then you're the ones that stole my oreos and scare me in the middle of night singing freddy is coming for me." I pointed out.

"Those were the days." Ez laughed.

"Assholes." I shook my head. "Pop's in the garage, if you really want to talk to him." Angel just nodded. "Ill be back." I went upstairs and went to my closet. I pulled out a box full of old clothes. I took out some pieces. I found a shirt, the one I wore the day mom died. There was still blood on it, i washed it 30 times, the stain won't come out. I folded the shirt and put it back. I grabbed the rest of the clothes and headed down. "Imma see you guys later, i gotta go." I said as i was passing the boys.

"Isnt that your favorite shirt mom gave you?" Ez pointed out. 

"Yeah, i mean it doesn't fit me anymore, might as well donate right?"

"For who?" Angel asked.

"Lettys friend." I told him.

"She has friends?" I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up, shes trying. I seriously gotta go. Bye ninos." I kissed their cheeks.

"Bye Marisol."

"Imma head out with you too." I walked out of the house with Ez. My dad was still in the garage. I waved goodbye and he did the same. I drove to the clubhouse. I walked in the club to the see the girls sitting.

"We're back." I called out. The girls smiled. Gaby started to make eyes on Ez. Me and Letty looked at them kinda weird. "Uh, anyways, heres some clothes, just in case." I gave Gaby the clothes.

"Gracias." She went to the bathroom. I sat down and saw Chucky walking towards me.

"Hey Chucky whats up?" I smiled.

"The ceiling." He pointed up. He got me there. "I have to tell you something." He whispers. He looks at Letty and Ez. "Can we go outside?"

"Uh sure." I followed Chucky outside. He looks right and left. "What is it Chucky? Everything okay?"

"A man, Roberto, he came and stop by, asking for you this morning." My eyes dropped, knuckles turned white. "I knew what he did something bad to you. I told him that you dont come here anymore. I didnt want to tell Coco or your hermanos, since they hate him. I figured to tell you." I sighed. I cant believe he tried coming here.

"Thanks Chucky. I'll figure it out."

"I got your back Marisol."

"I got yours Chuck." Chucky smiled and left. I stood outside for awhile. I covered my hand over my mouth. What does he even want from me? He had two years to make a mess of my life, now he decides to come back and fuck it up.

"Hey, we're heading out." Angel said as he came up behind me. I wiped my tear and look back.

"Be careful please." I patted his chest.

"Yeah, you good?" I nodded, lying.

"Im fine. Go." I shooed him. The men drove off and left me and the girls behind. We stayed in the clubhouse, i didnt really want to go out anywhere at the moment. I sat in the bar, doing some profits for the club.

"She's Ez's sister?" I overheard the girls.

"Yeah, Shes the youngest. Because of Angel, she wouldn't met Coco. They're basically cute together but it's disgusting but cute."

"Drink?" Chucky said as he walked behind the bar. I put my pen down.

"Yeah." I nodded. He pulled out a beer and handed to me. "When Roberto came, was he with anyone?"

"This guy with braids. But he stayed on the car." It was one of Miguels men. I gotta clear this shit with Emily, not even, i gotta tell Miguel.

"Thanks." I went back to my work. We heard the bikes rolling in. "Hey, they're back." I said as i looked at the girls. They ran outside. I could smell the gas from them all. I saw Coco and I hugged him. "Oh thank god you're okay."

"We're okay." He hugged me back. "Boy Scout saved them." I looked at Ez and Angel, on the side, watching Gaby reunite with her family. I walked to the boys.

"Come here." I hugged them. "You guys good?"

"Yeah." Ez nodded as he put his arm around my shoulder.
