A FAST LEARNER
BILLIE'S BACK HIT THE FLOOR FOR THE THIRD TIME IN THE LAST FIVE MINUTES.
A puff of agitation slipped past her lips when she rose to her feet once more, meeting her swift opponent head on once more.
"I don't do well with an audience, Demetri."
Her opponent in question merely looked around the room, suddenly becoming aware that a group of lower ranking Volturi members had infiltrated the grand room to watch the training session at hand. It seemed like everyone wanted to see their king's mate in action, like she was some sort of spectacle.
Demetri clapped his hands together twice, and it got the rest of the vampires that had gathered to stir slightly before they left the room in a single-filed line.
"Thanks," Billie said with a tense grin, steeling herself with her fists curled in front of her. "Should we go again?"
The pair had been training tirelessly for the last few hours, their cloaks shrugged away in the corner which left them in more casual attire that was more appropriate for what they were doing.
"Perhaps a break will suffice, now," he noted, and his own fighting stance loosened significantly as he made his way towards her.
"But I'm not tired," she complained, a pout morphing onto his lips.
He chuckled as he shook his head. "I know that," he began, "but it's no use training with you when you are frustrated. You need to calm down if you wish to retain anything I've taught you."
A hum that didn't belong to neither party reverberated throughout the room, and the two vampires turned sharply to see the new presence that entered the vicinity.
Demetri gave the bearded man a bow of his head, his posture straightening even more so than Billie even thought was possible. She, on the other hand, gave the man a wild smile and a larger wave of her hand at the sight of him.
"He's right," Aro stated, walking further into the room. The man's head bowed deeply in Billie's direction, and neither noticed how Demetri almost choked on his own tongue at the notion. "When you are focused on your agitated, your vigilance will falter as a result. On the battlefield, one cannot afford to be distracted."
Ever since their talk a few days ago, Aro had given her certain conditions that she had to obey by if she actually wanted to join them in defeating the Cullens. One of such conditions was to train amongst the Guard, because she would be of no use to anyone if she couldn't fight back should she be attacked. Though secretly, Billie hoped it wouldn't come to that, and that she wouldn't end up needing the self defence tips that Demetri and Felix had been giving out.
"Noted," she responded, taking his words into account with a nod. She turned to Demetri. "Can we try again now?"
Demetri went to answer when Aro silenced him with a singular raised hand. "Why don't you show me what you've learnt thus far, amore?" he proposed, and judging from the way he was already relieving the tracker of his duties, she figured he was set in this plan of his.
"I'll leave you two to it," Demetri said, bowing in both of their directions now before vanishing from the room altogether. He knew where he was no longer needed, and Aro's silent dismissal was warning enough.
Billie watched the dirty blond vampire as he left, and once the large doors slammed shut behind him, it set in that she hadn't seen Aro in almost an entire day.
Caution to the wind, she crossed the space between them with two large leaps before she threw her arms around his neck. "Hi."
His arms found their rightful place around her waist, his touch ever so delicate. "Hello, amore," he responded, his tone light with amusement.
Billie faintly felt the scuff of his trimmed facial hair brush across her forehead, a gentle kiss placed just at her hairline. Though he pulled his away, his hands remained where they were. "Were you serious?" Billie asked, and upon looking at the confused glint in his eyes, she reiterated her question. "Were you serious about training with me, right now?"
"I am," he confirmed, but his fingertips grazed the sliver of marble skin at her hip, right from where her shirt had ridden up. "Though I must admit; I enjoy this, right now."
Billie scoffed out a laugh, pushing him away from her teasingly. "Noβ you wanted to fight, so we're gonna fight, old man."
Aro looked aghast at her comment. "Old? You think I'm old?" he grumbled out, proceeding to do as Billie and put some distance between them.
"If the ancient shoe fits," she quipped in response, revelling in the way his annoyance was clear on his face.
But, the mischievous glint that surfaced within his eyes screamed nothing but trouble.
"Oh, we will see about that, piccola."

Despite Billie being a newborn vampire and despite Aro being one of the oldest vampires on this plane of existence, they were perfectly matched in the fight.
It surprised Aro greatly, to see his mate match up to his own skill set in her own unique way. She had a counter move for every attack he attempted to make, and it seemed as though Billie was more confident in her movements when it was just the two of them, the lack of audience proving to be incredibly beneficial.
It was almost like they were predicting one another's next moves, dodging blows left and right. The one move the man hadn't been expecting was the one he'd heard Alec discuss the most that involved her peculiar abilities.
He caught the smirk on her face just a moment too late, her palms merely grazing the sides of his head before his body was willed to a stop. He was transported into his own mind, taken back into a more recent memory of the twoβ a memory that was obviously meant to prove to be a distraction.
"It's incredibly difficult to say no to you" he said, and Billie nearly leapt off of the sofa with a cheer had his hand not wrapped itself firmly around her calf, "and part of me thinks you relish in that fact."
She tossed him a cheeky smile of her own. "Thinks, or knows?"
Aro responded with his hand opening up, his palm offered out to her in an innocent fashion; though his intentions were anything but.
He caught the way her body thrummed with energy at the simple motion. "Care to help me find out for certain?"
Billie slipped her hand in his, and let out a yelp when his fingers wrapped around her own, tugging her towards him. Air rushed past her head as she now looked at him from his lap, a soft giggle bubbling out of her from the suddenness of the motion.
She squirmed subconsciously, the pressure of the motion going straight to his head. "If I wanted you to kiss me, would you?"
"As if saying yes to that would be a hardship ," he murmured sarcastically, pulling the blonde even tighter to him before he leaned down to let his lips crash against hers. The surprised squeal that came from her throat was masked by the sweetest sound he'd ever heard, revelling in the way she pushed against him further.
He kissed her like he couldn't stand her body being away from his in even the smallest of ways. His tongue invaded her mouth, and the hand that was once holding the blonde's chin had begun sliding down to caress the side of her neck, thumb gently rubbing along her jaw. It was a soft, yet possessive hold, and the squirming of the girl in his lap spurred on his pursuits wholeheartedly.
When he finally parted from Billie to allow both her a moment to relax, having felt a certain frenzy bubble beneath her skin, he didn't fully let her go. Newborns always had so much energy they needed to expel, and what a way to help her do so. His nose nuzzled her cheek, lips brushing the softest of kisses onto her face as though she was some precious thing; and boy, she was.
"Wow, okay," Billie panted softly, tilting her head to the side so he could kiss further along her face, sucking in a breath when he nipped softly at her jaw. "I've never... oh my god, don't make me say it out loud."
The message was clear, and though Aro knew Billie hadn't had any suitors back in dreary little Forks, it still made his head swim with a sort of possessiveness that he hadn't felt since he first set his eyes upon her. It was all echoing around in his head. My, my, my love. My queen.
"Good," he murmured into her skin, and based on the way her lips parted ever so slightly, it wasn't the response she had been expecting.
"IβI'm supposed to be playing Operation with the twins right now," she laughed softly, a tremble in her voice. "Jane's so impatient." In hindsight, she was meant to be meeting up with the pair before she got caught in her eavesdropping, but already Aro knew this.
Did he care, though? Absolutely notβ not with this vision of beauty in his very grasp.
His ego shone through with his next words, forcing her to bite back a whimper when his hands migrated to the hem of her dress that had ridden up. "I'm sure they will let your tardiness slide if I say so, piccola... or do you need a reminder of who is in charge here?"
Billie merely blinked owlishly at him, a timid flashing onto her face. "I could use some reminding... please?"
Emerging from the hazy memory with a groan, Aro found himself with his back against the cracked floor, and a most radiant sight standing above him, a victorious laugh leaving her lips.
"I win, Vamp King."
