MESSAGE TO MY DEAREST
ARO HAD BEEN ROAMING THE EARTH FOR THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF YEARS.
But never once had he seen such a creature as beautiful as the human girl that was stood anxiously before him.
Billie. What a silly little name.
He needed to know everything about her.
"How have you been enjoying Italy so far?"
Based on Alice's vision and her thoughts alone, not even accounting for the ones he observed from Edward's mind, he knew the girl before him hadn't been in Italy long. No, he knew they'd just come to collect the telepath who came to die, but he had to speak with her; he had to hear her soft voice again.
He saw the confusion swirling in her own eyes, but smiled when she gave him an answer without averting her gaze. "It's nice," she replied with overt politeness. It made him question whether she knew who he was to the vampires, or if she was always polite to mere strangers. "But I'm eager to go home... I have a history test on Monday and I haven't even studied yet, so..."
A sensation of despair flared within him, though it was only brief. She was perfect in every way imaginable, but it was so apparent that she was a human.
A human who wasn't supposed to know of their kind at all, and yet here she stood, a friend among the pesky Cullens. Things would need to change, but he'd seen Alice's vision. She would be like him one day, red eyes rather than the amber that made his being boil with annoyance. That alone was enough to calm him.
So, all he could do was nod. "Very well," he said, then turned to make eye contact with the other human in the room, the one clutching onto Edward as though her life depended on it. "You all may go— make your preparations."
Yet, when the blonde girl with the silly little name went, Aro couldn't peel his eyes away from her. He got a glimpse of a careful smile she tossed Isabella Swan's way, and felt his body leaning forward at the sight. He longed for her to smile at him like that, but it seemed as though he'd need to wait.
They met eyes once again, and he bowed his head before her as she went— bowed his head for his future Queen.
And only when he was sure they were gone, a member of the Guard escorting them out the door, he turned to the Guard's two highest ranking members with a wide smile. "Find out everything you can about this girl," he commanded towards the twins. They nodded, and his smile dropped as he locked eyes with the one who'd roughly brought her to him.
He snapped his fingers, and instantly, Demetri was being pulled from the room by four other vampires under Aro's authority.
"Deal with him."

At Aro's careful instruction, the vampiric twins were travelling to and from Forks with ease to gather intel on the one their master sought out most.
It was their third day of all the back and forth when Alec growled under his breath from their spot hidden in the treeline behind the girl's home. "All of this for a pesky little human?" he complained, though his eyes were trained on the back window at the silhouette that moved back and forth.
"She's important to us now, we must show respect," Jane warned him sharply, also staring at the window that was now slowly being opened. "We cannot forget our place, Alec."
When they returned, immediately summoned by their giddy-looking leader, they relayed all the information they gathered. They told him of the numerous extracurricular activities she partook in, in addition to giving him a copy of her current transcript that outlined the subjects she both excelled and did not excel in.
"Does she have any current suitors?" he questioned, looking at the papers before him before glancing to the twins. That was what he really wanted to know, because if she did, he'd send someone to deal with it at once.
Jane shook her head. "It appears she does not, Master," she told him, and it made the man puff his chest out with a smile. "She's very sociable, however, and does attract a lot of... attention."
That was an understatement, considering both twins couldn't even understand the magnitude of Billie's friendliness. Everywhere she went, she managed to strike up a conversation with someone she knew— it was puzzling, how much this little human could capture the attentions and affections of others.
Aro hummed, cataloguing the information away in his mind. "I see," he mused, fingers tapping against the armrest of his throne. "How does one communicate with her best? What will garner her attention?"
Neither twin clocked the desperation seeping in his tone out load, though they were both thinking it. Would this be how they would act when they found their own soulmates, too?
"The people there do the strangest thing," Alec started with his nose shrivelled up, "they type into this box-like device, and it sends a message to them which they can respond to immediately."
The man nodded, clapping his hands together. "Get me one of these devices," he instructed toward Alec, before turning to the blonde twin, "and teach me how to use it."
Jane nearly blanched. "Master, I'm afraid I don't know—"
Aro's sharp glare cut her sentence short, an eyebrow raised in challenge. "Are you unwilling to help me communicate with your future queen, Jane?"
She steeled her shoulders, going to respond with a, "Of course not... I shall find out what I can."
"Splendid!" Aro cheered happily, leaning back in his throne as he waved his hand in dismissal— not doubt going to formulate other ways of communicating with the girl fated to him.
Both twins were quick to bow, rushing from the grand room. Once they were out, they exchanged a matching glance of annoyance before they parted ways; one going to acquire a cellphone and the other going to acquire knowledge on how to actually use the damn thing.
One of the oldest vampires in history about to use a cellphone to communicate with his human soulmate? Yeah, that was bound to be either disastrous or simply hilarious.
And personally, Jane hoped for the latter.

Billie Burbank had just gotten out of a debate team meeting that ran a little later than she would've liked, and was practically speeding home to eat the comforting chicken soup her mother had just snapped her a picture of.
Responding with three heart emojis when she was stopped at a red light, she noticed she had an unread text waiting to be answered that was sent while she was in the meeting.
Clicking on it, her eyes widened on their own volition at the text she received from an oh-so familiar vampire she'd met recently.
Unknown number
Hello, amore. This is Aro.
Iam texting you.
Sincerely,
Aro Volturi
A honk snapped her from her stupor, the car behind her getting impatient. The light was green, and she all but chucked her phone onto the passenger seat before she started driving once more.
Confusion was lingering in her veins, and she wasn't confused on how he'd gotten her phone number; no, she was confused as to how Aro, this all powerful vampire, figured out how to text her in the first place.
It was only when she pulled into her driveway that she dared to text him back.
Billie
You don't have to sign ur name
with 'sincerely' in a text. But hi?
