While she settles in, April places her bag on the desk. Turning to her left, she sees Tibiebi staring at her. That was when she realized she stepped on her shoes. She murmurs a quick apology, but Tibiebi does not answer, so she takes up her book and begins to flip through. Not liking the hostile atmosphere, April quickly turned away.

Light throws his arm around April's neck as soon as he reaches his chair, whispering something that makes her smile. She did not even notice when Dumlesi approached them.

"April, please lend me your chemistry notes!" Dumlesi says. April wondered what was wrong with her because she was not in her usual bubble.

"You will not write while the teacher is in the classroom. Later, you will be bothering someone!" Light murmurs, making April smile. They both seemed too childish to her.

"Am I asking for your notes?" Dumlesi asks sternly. "Mind your business!" She murmurs. Making Light's smile broaden.

"You are asking for our notes. My friend's notes are also mine." Light drags on.

Dumlesi could tell by the look on his face that he was far from ready to stop talking.
She just gives off a hiss. She was not in a good mood.

"I had no idea when April became your friend," Dumlesi says, accepting April's book. "Attention seeker!" Once she reaches a point, she calls out as she leaves. She pauses and looks over at April. "Thank you!"

"Why do you enjoy getting on her nerves?" April asks, then laughs.

"I enjoy seeing her angry face. It makes me happy." Light speaks and smiles.

"April Is your English language up to date?" Someone inquires from the left. causing April to nearly turn right away. She could not believe Tibiebi was actually speaking to her. The girl had never engaged in a proper and meaningful conversation with her. They actually stayed in the same dormitory.

"Yes..i..do," April stuttered.

"Kindly lend me!" Tibiebi speaks with a straight face.

"Okay," April says as she opens her bag.

The loud noise in the classroom catches everyone's attention. April could not help but turn in the direction where the sound was coming from.

She could not understand what was going on. Efe, who appeared to be bleeding, held his hands close to his mouth. While Wendy stood in front of him, daring him with her gaze.

"Wendy, can you please stop acting like a tout?" Tari, who appeared agitated, confronts her.

"Cross my path if I do not design your face with it!" Wendy attacks Tari. The rage on her face was obvious.

"What happened? Light whispers to April, who was also unaware.

"Wendy, why did you use your bangle on him? You are just too short-tempered!" Nimi attacks.

Wendy hisses and begins walking back to her seat.

"Wendy, If not for one thing, I would have given you a dirty slap. Seems you are stupid. You know who to mess with!" Efe says, appearing enraged.

"Try it and see how it turns out!" She chuckles. "Bastard!" She sets off to find her seat.

A very loud jeering noise is made. "Efe, after all the mouth sharping. You can't even land her one slap, " Gideon says and laughs. Meanwhile, Wendy instantly turns to face him.

"My sister. I'm on your side!" Gideon smiles at Wendy.

Tari whispers something into Efe's ears. They both exit the classroom. Not after Efe and Wendy had exchanged several glares.

"Hypocrites!" Tibiebi hisses. Making April turn in her direction.

Light makes a humorous remark as he walks down to the cafeteria with April. Her schoolbag hung on her shoulder. Dumlesi and Science had left when she told them to. She was assisting Light. With his Chemistry coursework.

"I am wondering what Efe said that made Wendy so angry!" April tries to articulate her thoughts.

"I will find out once I get to the hostel." Light responds.

"Can you guess what I found out?" April asks, smiling.

"What?" Light inquires with keen interest.

"Guys gossip more than girls!" April says to Light, who comes to a halt. He raises one eyebrow at her. April smiles as she observes his reaction.

"That's not true." He argues and places his hands on her shoulder, bringing her closer. When April's gaze meets his, she tries to keep her steps steady. She noticed a small smile that faded quickly. She noticed he was only with the half-caste, who appeared very mean. She did not like how he looked at her. She catches her breath the moment he walks past her. Jordan smiled at her, and she knew it.

"April. I am talking to you!" Light protests. Getting April out of her rivalries. April inquired as to what he had said, and they continued to converse until they arrived at their table. Science and Dumlesi were already sitting.

April is quick to notice Dumlesi's disapproving look. Wondering what she did wrong. She takes a seat, and Light hands her a bottle of Coke, which she declines due to her upset stomach.

"Nancy is not here?" Light asks with a bored expression.

"Obviously!" Dumlesi replies with a scowl. She takes a large bite of her
Sausage role while Nancy joins them.

"You are late?" Science inquiries.

"Yes. I stayed back, because of Government test!" Nancy replies.

"Hey!" Light waves at her.

"Hi!" Nancy, who did not appear to be interested in conversing, responded.

"April, what is your secret hideout?" Dumlesi asks abruptly. April's face was full of confusion.

"Huh?" April inquires.

"I mean, these days you don't hang out with us anymore, "Dumlesi says not hiding the displeasure.

"Dums!" Science calls out with a raised eyebrow.

"What did I do wrong? I'm just asking a simple question. She doesn't hang out with us anymore. She has started making new friends." Dumlesi says, obviously eyeing Light. Who did not notice this? He seemed preoccupied with his phone, which was between his legs.

"It is not like that! I just found a reading spot, and I am studying for the midterm," April defends.

A loud noise is heard. Automatically capturing everyone's attention. They noticed Boma glaring at a boy in science class.

"Wendy and her friends are so annoying. Seeing them spoils my day. They are girls, for crying out loud. They should not behave like boys!" Science hisses.

April looks around for nearly the tenth time. Jordan was not present. Which was new? She realized it was actually his hangout, but she mistook it for his hideout.

She knew within her even though she tried to deny it, that she didn't only go there to read but to see Jordan face. considering her response each time he is present. She was aware that she had a crush on him.

No matter how hard she pushed herself. She knew Jordan was one of the reasons she came to the music room.

She gulps deeply. Immediately, someone joins her. She knew he was the one. His perfume was clearly intoxicating to her. This strong scent was difficult to overcome.

She pretended to be focused. Jordan does not bother her, either. They remain silent for several minutes. Until Jordan starts to sing. His earphone was plugged into his ears.

She was astounded by how angelic his voice sounded while pretending to be concentrating. She found herself engulfed in his voice. She looks up when he suddenly stops singing.

"Your voice is amazing!" She lets her eyes bulge out as she realizes what she said. He appeared relaxed. She examined his facial expression.

"Thanks. Do you have any problems with that?" He asks about her work.

"I have been struggling with this topic!" April admits. She always wondered why there had to be further mathematics. They were content with just mathematics. She could not help but be angry at the person who suggested it.

"That is because you are easily distracted!" Jordan scoffed. "You and I both know you were busy listening to me sing. You were not concentrating. Because this is obviously not difficult. You can do it!" Jordan says, prompting April to turn to him with wide eyes. He was quite the observer.

"You are so predictable," Jordan confirms. Meanwhile, April drags her book closer. She uses the corner of her eyes to watch him bring a book which she noticed was a Government textbook.

"Are you an art student?" April asks almost immediately, quite surprised.

"You see!" Jordan confirms and faces his book. Making April follow suit. She drops her book and faces his direction. Since he wasn't looking. She uses the opportunity to stare. He was just too quiet, she knew she wasn't talkative. But she wasn't quiet either. Although she always felt uncomfortable with him, she couldn't stop herself from talking. It just comes out accidentally. However, there was one thing she could not do. That was looking into his eyes.

"My face is clearly not your book!" Jordan says with a calm expression. He did not look her way. She wondered how he knew.

"Sorry!"
"Grab the book. Let me show you how to solve it!" He says surprising her.

April turns around, only to find Wendy staring at her. She was aware they was the only ones in the classroom. She swallows her saliva. Something about Wendy made her uncomfortable. She tries to walk away. Wendy, on the other hand, gets in her way.

"Do not say you are going to walk out me!" Wendy asks with a raised eyebrow.

April smiles.
"I had no idea you wanted to talk to me. I just came to get my bible. I need to get to the assembly hall!" April says with a calm expression.

"Stop being overly sweet! I'm not here to make friends with you, " Wendy says clearly irritated by her calmness.

"But I haven't done anything to you!" April confirms.

"You haven't and you shouldn't. If you want to enjoy your stay in this school. I can see you flying too high. Look, I am the brightest student in this class! And I am sure you cannot beat that! Stop attempting to compete with me. Wendy gives a smile.

"Look, I am not competing with you! If you believe you are the brightest. I do not have any issues. I only came to learn!" April responds.

It had better be. Because I am going to break you into pieces." Wendy responds with an innocent smile. Making April wonder how someone who appeared so innocent could be so devious.

She obviously was not competing with her.
