"Has she been taking medications?" Aunty Nkiru asks directly to Wunmi.

April didn't know her mum had such relatives, who looked well to do, her mum's cousin Uncle Mark came alongside his wife and mother. They came in a range rover, and they didn't look poor. They might not be very rich, but at least they looked like they could fit in some positions perfectly. She silently prayed they helped her mother.

"She did go to a general hospital once, she came back with drugs, but since it finished she hasn't gone again, due to the fact we have no money," Wunmi says. Meanwhile April who had no idea that her mum went to the clinic, watched them without uttering a word.

"This is serious. She didn't tell anyone. We will take her along with us." Uncle Mark says.

"Why don't we take her to the village?" The old lady was introduced to April as her mum's aunt suggests. Meanwhile, April stares at her wondering if she understood how severe this was. They should be talking about taking her to the hospital, not the village.

"I think that's the right thing to do, your mum is right." Aunty Nkiru says directly to her husband. "We should try treating her traditionally, if it doesn't work we can try the hospital." She suggests.

"Wunmi, prepare her things."

Monica says not minding how loud her voice was. "You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Now go back to that, don't come out till I tell you to, Tessa will bring your food over to your bedroom." Monica says without sympathy.

"I want to go stay with my Dad," Wendy says trying her best to keep a straight face.

"Wendy, if you don't leave my presence. I will so deal with you. Now, I will turn into a laughing stock in the presence of Boma. I am sure Ibinabor has told her about your results." Monica says with anger visible on her face.

"I want to go stay with my Dad," Wendy says allowing the tears to flow freely.

"In your wildest dream, you won't even see his shadow. Since you want me to treat you with an iron fist, your father has spoilt you." Monica says while she moves towards Wendy's direction, making Wendy hasten her step on impulse, she continues moving back until she bumps into someone by mistake. Quickly turning around to see who it was, her eyes bulge out.

"Clara!" Monica calls out the in a calm tone, making Wendy wonder how she could switch moods so easily.

"Aunt Monica!" Clara calls out while she runs to her aunt and hugs her. Meanwhile, Wendy watches the both of them without uttering a word. After they were done exchanging pleasantries, she turns to Wendy.

"Hi!" She waves.

"Hi," Wendy says and walks out of the kitchen almost immediately. Making Clara turn to Monica obviously wondering what was wrong.

"You know how she could be most times!" Monica says like she had read her thoughts.
"You came alone?" Monica asks taking a good look at her niece.

"Yes!" Clara responds quite excited.

"She will," Wunmi assures.

"You didn't tell me mum had been visiting the hospital. Has it been that serious?" April asks her sister whose face was buried in her palms.

"April. I'm just confused. Please allow me to think, " Wunmi who seemed tired of April's constant complaints says.

Meanwhile, April's phone, ringtone blast the air, she hisses while she picks her phone up.

"What do you expect from a Nokia torchlight?" Wunmi noticed April's facial expression jokes. Meanwhile, April silently wonders who was calling. It was an unknown number. "That ringtone is disturbing my ears beg," Wunmi says. Meanwhile, April releases a weak smile. She was talking like the Wunmi she knew.

She picks up the call, while she walks to the other end of the room.

"April, so you have started leaving my presence why making a call?" Wunmi says casually. Making April walkout, she knew what her sister was capable of doing.

"Hello!" The unknown person says.

"Hi!" April responds wondering who it was, she didn't recognize the voice. It seemed like the wrong number. She attempts to tell the person off when she hears her name.

"Is this April?" The person at the order end says.

"Yes. Sorry, who are you?" She asks. She could hear the supposed caller chuckle.

"It's just been a few days, and you can't even remember my voice."

"Sorry!" April says in a calm tone, wondering who it was.

"It's Jay!" Her heartbeat increases immediately after he calls his name. She couldn't help but wonder what made his voice change.

"Good afternoon!" Her voice changes drastically.

"How are you?" He asks. Meanwhile, she pauses before replying.

"I'm good you?"

"Great!"

There is a heavy silence between them.

"You made mention of staying in Rumuodumaya?" He says more like he was asking a question. Making April pause before replying.

"Yes!" She responds. Meanwhile, there is a brief silence from Jordan's side. It seems like he was finding it difficult to say something.

"So, can we see each other?" He rushes his words. Meanwhile, April who seemed shocked takes a deep breath before replying.

"How is that possible?" April asks.

"It will be possible if you say yes." He bluntly says.

"Ehmm." She stutters.

"I'm coming over with my younger sister, I need to take her somewhere. Honestly, I need someone to tag along with. with" Jordan says. Meanwhile, April lets out a small smile.

"I don't know if it's possible..., "

"Your Mum?" He interrupts.

Wendy curiously walks over to her window, she couldn't help but wonder what was causing the noise she was hearing. It was making it quite hard for her to concentrate on her book.

She lets her mouth gasps open and close, wondering how he got there.

"Seriously?" Wendy asks Tari who had a slight grin on his face.

"Just open up," Tari says. Meanwhile, Wendy watches him without moving an inch.

"Do you want your Mum to get me here?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.

"That's on you, not me, " Wendy says.

"What happened to your face? Have you been crying?" Tari asks. Meanwhile, Wendy makes way for him to get in, through the window.

Immediately he gets in, she shuts the windows and curtain.

"It's not like we are doing anything." Tari smiles.

"Can you be serious for once?" Wendy who had a bored look on her face asked.

"God. You are so stuck up. That was meant to be a joke. You have changed." Tari says, meanwhile Wendy turns to him. "You just get worse every day." He says.

"You have started again. Now you are judging!" Wendy says while she seats on her bed, in less than a minute, Tari joins her too.

"She locked you in again?" He asks in a calm voice with emotions on his face.

"Not like I didn't try. I swear I read my books, I tried my best. I couldn't even beat her." Wendy says looking down.

"Somethings don't just happen. The fact is, you can't keep coming on top every time, there must be someone else. You aren't the only one who loves good things." He jokes with his last statement.

"Tari!" Wendy glares.

"That was meant to be a joke." He says trying to keep a straight face.

"I don't know if she thinks. I'm a computer. Or everyone in the class is daft." Wendy says facing him fully.

"Is that why you have been crying?"

"Why won't I? I didn't just come second, but shared it with Light." Wendy says trying her best to suppress the tears that were almost pouring. "She won't even let me talk to my Dad." She finally burst into tears. "Like it's my fault. I studied hard Tari. I swear I did. It's not my fault someone is willing to compete with me."

"Just get ready to take panadol," Tari says using his hands to support his check.

"Seriously. You know you're annoying?" Wendy asks cleaning her tears. Meanwhile, Tari burst into laughter.

"What?"

"You can't even tell me to stop crying!" She hisses.

"Are you crying with my eyes? You are the one who chooses to stress yourself. If you like to cry from now till tomorrow, nothing will change." Tari bluntly says.

"Imagine how my holidays will be, locked up in here." Wendy hisses.

"You know I can't stay a day without seeing you, although you can be annoying, " Tari says.

"Who wants to see you?" Wendy mocks.

"My handsome face." Tari laughs.
"Your lips are dry," Tari says.

"Also, stop staring at my breast!" Wendy blurts out without thinking.

Tari chuckles.
"Go and cover to na. It's not my eye's fault." Tari says making Wendy roll her eyes. "Like she isn't dying for me to kiss her," Tari says getting close to her, and obviously pulling her closer to him. He places a chaste kiss on her lips, which she deepens in return. She is about straddling him. Then they both hear a loud knock on the door, disengaging almost immediately.

Wendy lets her eyes bulge out.

"Open the door!" She could hear her mum's voice. Turning to Tari who seemed rather too relaxed, she frowns.
