April tries to increase her pace, because someone had been following her ever since she took the route. Her heart beats profusely. She couldn't deny the fact she was scared. Silently cursing herself for not joining Dumlesi and Nancy, now remembering school just resumed, the environment was bound to be lonely.

Wondering who was following her, she increases her pace, she turns back only to see a guy in a hoodie, she couldn't really make out who he was, she attempts to start running when she notices he did the same. She stops, her hand trembling. She looks back only to see the person coming with full force. She picks to her heels, she could taste the saltiness in her mouth, That was when she realized she was crying.

She finally picks up her heels, the person who had been trolling behind her does the same, her heart beating profusely, she runs like her life depends on it. Immediately she sights the light from the cafeteria, she starts shedding tears. Once she gets to the entrance of the cafeteria, she hugs the first person she sights. Knowing who it was, she tries to catch her breath, with her eyes shut. Her face was still stained with tears. She tries very hard to calm her heartbeat.

She hugs the person who soothes her back for some time before slowly releasing herself.

"What happened?" Jordan asks. Meanwhile, April's mouth suddenly grew dry, she couldn't tell why she suddenly lost her voice, feeling like the ground should open up and swallow her because of the stares she was getting. She could feel Wealth and Goriola's hot gaze on her. She was sure they were wondering, what was wrong.

The look Dumlesi and Nancy were giving her was something she couldn't explain.

April stares at him with her breath hitched, she wonders if he got handsome every day. When she noticed it was becoming awkward and she was just staring. She moves back a little.

"I'm sorry!" She mutters and starts walking away immediately. She knew fear wouldn't let her go back to the hostel, and she wasn't hungry either. The environment was just too tense.

Immediately she apologizes, she doesn't look back. She walks down to their regular spot. She noticed that Science had this confused look while Dumlesi expression was mixed, like she was judging or accusing her of something.

April takes a deep breath while she faces the table, remembering she just walked out without giving Jordan an answer, she looks back but doesn't see any sign of him or his friends. She looks ahead again.

"April, when did you become friends with Senior Jordan?" Dumlesi asks with a serious look on her face.

"You just hugged him?" Science asks with a blank expression. That was when it dawned on April, that they just misunderstood what happened. She did not just see him and hug him in the way they imagined, and she had no idea how they imagined it.

"Somebody was chasing me!" April manages to respond. She could see the shock on Dumlesi's and Nancy's faces.

"Huh?" Nancy asks.

Jordan opens his book for the fourth time, only to have Ibinabor close it as usual. This was the fourth time she had done this, and it was getting on his nerves. He looks up at her, trying not to yell.

"What is wrong with you? Don't you understand I'm not in the mood to talk to anyone?" Jordan asks trying his best not to yell. He couldn't deny the fact she was getting on his nerves.

"But you are in the mood to hug girls!" Ibinabor attacks. Jordan took a good look at her for the first time, and he realized where the problem was coming from.

"Ibinabor, please I need to concentrate!" Jordan says as he gets up. He was planning to leave because he knew Ibinabor well enough. She would not stop until she would gotten him mad.

"So she is the one?" Ibinabor speaks. Jordan gives her a strange look.

"You are such a drama queen!"

It has been a week since they returned from midterm break, and everything has been normal. April did not know who had been following her that night. She has successfully avoided Jordan like the plague.

She was both scared and embarrassed to look at him. She could not believe how dramatic she had been. Jumping into his arms like that.

Everything was going well, except for the new drama and news being broadcasted by the Minister of Information. "Dumlesi"
Nancy is a ghost, according to school rumors. The amusing part was that Nancy had not resumed yet.

She did not believe it at first, but given Nancy's personality and the fact that Dumlesi confirmed it, she could not help but believe it.

The fact that they had been staying with a ghost all this time terrified her. Science had confirmed that she did not know Nancy down to her home, that she had never seen her parents, and that she joined them during the third term of JSS2.

Although it appeared scary and confusing to her, she did not believe in ghosts, and this situation terrified her.

"Hey. How are you?" April turns to her left in surprise, wondering if she was dreaming or something. "Why are you looking at me as if I have grown two heads?" Tibiebi asks, smiling.

"It is not like that!" April responds trying her best not to stutter. "It's just weird!" April says.

"Coming from me right?" Tibiebi says with a calm smile.

"Yes!"

"I don't think we are enemies. We stay in the same dorm and seat, but do not talk; this sounds strange!" Tibiebi speaks. Meanwhile, April's smile is uncomfortable. "I just want to make new friends; life is too short," Tibeibi smiles.

"Yeah!" April says, trying her hardest to keep a straight face.

Tibiebi smiled as soon as she realized how uncomfortable she was.

"Stop giving me that look. I don't
bite, " Tibeibi says. Meanwhile, April gives a calm smile and looks ahead. "I will be back!" Tibiebi announces now getting April's attention.

Though they had shared the same hostel and seat for some time, they had not really spoken aside from the one occasion when she asked for her note. April watches her get up, wondering if she was truly okay. Now she was extending a friendly hand, which appeared awkward.

She lets her eyes bulge when Tibiebi settles down on Wendy's seat. She had more reasons to distrust her.
In the few weeks she had been here, if there are few things she had learned. It was the hatred Wendy had for her, although she didn't really get into her way, but she felt it. Another issue was that Wendy had few friends. Aside from those friends, she was constantly barking, snarling, or shouting at anyone else, and Tibiebi was a member of Wendy's small circle; they did not walk around together, but they always talked, waved, and smiled.

April covers her face with both hands; she does not want problems at this school and believes that avoiding them is the best course of action, but how can she do that when the problems seem to be circling her?

"Darky Barbie!" April instantly smiles when she hears this voice. She truly missed his jokes, his humor, and everything about him, even though she did not realize it at the time she threw her arm around him. He was so endearing. "Somebody missed me!" Light says, clearly smiling, as he hugged her back. When they disengage, he tries to adjust properly.

"Why are you resuming one week late?" April asks sternly. Like a mother reprimanding her son.

Light had the usual calm smile on his face, and he looked handsome as always; she even noticed he was wearing a chain. She smiles because, while it may sound strange, she has always thought that men wearing chains were attractive. She simply loved it.

"I was sick, but I am better," Light says. April had always wanted to know what was wrong with him. Flourish was always over, checking to see if he had taken his medications.

She couldn't just ask, without sounding too direct, she simply smiles.
"Hope it wasn't serious?" April asks with a lot of concern.

"No, " He begins searching his bag. April observes him silently. He finally pulls out a fancy nylon. "Look at what I got for you!" Light mentions almost emptying the nylon. Several chocolate bars were visible.

"Light, are you for real? All the chocolates. This is what I will call a waste of resources!" April says this as she looks at him.

"I will take that as a thank you. This was the only thing I could think of getting you. You love chocolates!" Light says as he packs them into the nylon bag.

"Thank you, but this is too much!" April responds.

"Nothing is too much for you. What about Nancy? I have her novels, ancient ones. That girl is just weird." Light laughs. Meanwhile, April's expression changes.

"There was this hot guy I met in the mall; you girls should see him, girl. I felt like fainting. It was like I fell in love right there!" Bright responds with a smile. She was still putting on her pants and bra.

Flourish gives Bright a strange look and says, "Stop exaggerating!" with a mock smile, but Bright ignores her.

"How about Kenny? Is he no longer relevant?" Ibinabor, who was putting on mascara, inquires with curiosity.

"You know I don't joke with him?" Bright glares. "Can't someone drool on another again?" Bright asks while Ibinabor smiles.

"Haba, Bright chill. You were talking like you were already in love na." Flourish says.

"Fisayo are you okay? You are just unnecessarily quiet!" Ibinabor who had been observing Fisayo since she got back asks. They had already settled their differences before leaving for the break. But she had been acting strange since they returned. She remembered being normal during her visit and even at the party.

"It is just a headache, I will be fine," Fisayo says with a bored expression, but not after Flourish gives her the usual suspicious look.
