06 | the calm before the storm

It was a rare occurrence that you chose this form, but it was undeniably necessaryโ€”both for the mission at hand and to navigate this peculiar human world. In your dragon form, you'd stand out like a sore thumb, no matter how majestic and awe-inspiring you were. So, a more "conventional" appearance was called for, especially when mingling with the likes of these jujutsu sorcerers.

As you adjusted to your human form, you were acutely aware of the way your presence hit the room like a sudden spark of energy. The three boys in front of you were the first to notice. Gojo was first to speak, his tone unmistakably playful and dripping with that signature, borderline obnoxious charm. "Damn," he hummed, eyes trailing your new appearance with a smirk plastered on his face. "You look fine. Real fine." His gaze lingered just a tad too long, his tone light but full of that teasing, all-too-Gojo energy. The usual "cool guy" facade slipping, he couldn't help but make a show of it, practically drooling as his eyes gleamed mischievously.

Megumi, ever the voice of reasonโ€”or rather, the voice of disapprovalโ€”rolled his eyes with a quick scoff. "Ew, dude, she's clearly younger than you," he said, his expression a mixture of irritation and disbelief. It was as if the world was bending out of order, one Gojo flirtatious comment at a time. You could practically hear the thunk of Megumi's unamused mental eye roll as he gave Gojo that look.

Despite the tension of the situation, you couldn't help but let out a soft laughโ€”a gentle, almost musical soundโ€”as you flicked your hair over your shoulder with a casual flourish, letting the moment breathe. You shot both of them a look that was equal parts teasing and defiant. "Oh, no, no, I'm not younger than any of you, trust me," you said with the type of breezy confidence that had been hard-earned over centuries. "In fact, I believe I'm older!"

At those words, the entire room seemed to freeze, and you could almost hear the mental gears grinding in their heads. "Eh?" they all echoed in unison, their eyes growing wide in shock as the weight of your statement slowly sank in.

You leaned back slightly, a smile curling at the corner of your lips as you let the moment hang in the air. It was a delightful thing to watch them squirm with confusion. Not many people could drop a bombshell like that and then sit back, watching it all unfold like it was just another Tuesday.

"Oh, don't worry," you added nonchalantly, completely aware of how you had both baffled and amused them. "The concept of time doesn't work quite the same for me as it does for humans. I've seen eons pass in the blink of an eye."

Megumi shot you an incredulous look. "Eons?" he asked, the disbelief in his voice practically radiating off him. You gave a knowing grin, raising your eyebrows playfully, making no attempt to clarify.

"Yeah," you said with a wink. "You could say I've been around long enough to remember a few things, even if they might not fit into your neat little human timeline."

Gojo, on the other hand, still hadn't fully recovered from the shock. "Wait, soโ€”you're actually older than me?" His voice was a mix of awe and something else, something like... confusion? That was a rare look for Gojo Satoru, and you couldn't help but enjoy it. You let the mystery hang in the air, liking the idea that finally someone else was as flustered as you'd made them feel.

The room was still buzzing with that subtle tension as they tried to process what they'd just learned. It was playful, a bit cheeky, and, of course, Gojo-styleโ€”a moment of levity in the chaos of everything. But you had to admit, the whole experience was a bit of a power play. For once, you weren't just the towering, majestic creature of lore and legend. You were something else entirelyโ€”a riddle wrapped in a mysteryโ€”and you were thoroughly enjoying every second of it.

You stretch nonchalantly, a small, knowing smile curling at your lips as you casually glance at the trio in front of you. "We dragons have been here since the beginning of time," you say, your voice rich with a playful tone. "And the Light Fury tribe definitely has, too. So, I don't really see the big deal."

The room goes still for a moment, as if the air itself is holding its breath. Itadori, ever the curious one, is the first to snap out of the daze. His eyes widen, excitement flickering across his face, practically glowing with intrigue. "Wait," he breathes, leaning forward with barely-contained enthusiasm. "Light Fury as in the subspecies of the legendary Night Fury tribe?" His voice rises with every word, the excitement building like a kettle about to whistle. "You mean you're one of them?"

You lean back, letting your wings flex out slightly in a stretch, a graceful movement that accentuates your otherworldly nature. You hum in acknowledgment, your gaze never leaving him. "Mm-hmm," you say, the mystery thickening with every syllable. "The one and only, little friend." You pause for dramatic effect, then add with a wink, "I'm the queen."

At your words, Itadori freezes for a split second, his expression shifting between awe, disbelief, and something else entirelyโ€”amusement, maybe? Whatever it is, it's enough to turn his cheeks a deep shade of pink. You reach out playfully, your hand brushing through his hair in a gesture both affectionate and teasing. It's clear the touch catches him off guard, as his face flushes even brighter, and he stumbles back a step.

"Whโ€”what?" Itadori stammers, clearly flustered. "Queen?!" he repeats, wide-eyed, his voice coming out in a squeak. "You're really the queen of the Light Furies?!" His hands flail slightly as if trying to make sense of everything happening around him. The pure wonder in his expression makes you smile a little wider.

You let the moment linger, enjoying the ripple effect of your revelation. The weight of your heritage, the legendary significance of your tribe, sinks into the air. It's almost as if your presence demands reverence, even without trying. These humansโ€”who were so used to dealing with curses and the supernaturalโ€”find themselves dwarfed by the enormity of your existence.

Meanwhile, Gojo, ever the one to interrupt with his unfiltered enthusiasm, grins and steps forward with a dramatic flourish. "Whoa, whoa, wait," he says, his tone suddenly over the top, playful and loud. "So you're the queen of an entire tribe of dragons? That's insane! I bet you're one of those dragons that could justโ€”" He waves his hand around dramatically, "โ€”set everything on fire and fly around, swooping in and being all majestic and terrifying." He seems both genuinely impressed and giddy at the idea.

Megumi, on the other hand, just stands there with his arms crossed, a quiet skepticism in his gaze. "I'm not saying I don't believe you," he begins, voice measured, as always. "But, uh... do you have any proof of this, or are we just supposed to take your word for it?" His eyes narrow in that typical Megumi fashion, though there's a subtle curiosity creeping in behind his cool exterior.

You chuckle softly, feeling the amusement bubble inside of you. "Proof? What kind of proof do you need, Megumi?" you tease, arching an eyebrow as you survey the group. "I mean, I could always show you my wings," you add with a mischievous grin, "but then you might start asking me to fly you around. And I'm not sure your human hearts can handle that much awe." You let the playful teasing hang in the air, knowing full well the effect it has on them.

The boys fall silent for a beat, the weight of your words slowly sinking in. Itadori looks like he's on the verge of exploding with questions, while Gojo is still grinning like an overexcited kid in a candy store. Megumi, however, is simply shaking his head with an amused sigh, clearly exasperated but entertained by the unpredictability of the situation.

"Yeah, okay," Megumi mutters, looking over at you, "I'll take your word for itโ€”for now. But, queen of the Light Furies, huh? This is going to be a fun ride."

And with that, you all share a knowing look, the weight of the moment carrying on in the quiet anticipation of the journey ahead. You may have just revealed a piece of yourself that none of them could have expected, but it's clear that this new chapter is only just beginning.
