You hummed a familiar song as you played cards with HERO, KEL, and AUBREY in NEIGHBOR'S ROOM, BIG YELLOW CAT watches silently, you haven't been in NEIGHBOR'S ROOM before, but when they found you lost in the VAST FOREST, AUBREY and KEL invited you with them to play a card game.
KEL was just about to win the game when suddenly a monochromatic, monotone boy around your age enters NEIGHBOR'S ROOM. AUBREY rushed to greet him, probably eager to end the game since she wasn't going to win anyway. Not to mention she wasn't looking forward to having to hear KEL brag about it for the rest of the day. Eventually the others got up to greet him as well, you joined them, not wanting to be left out.
"Oh!" AUBREY exclaims, "Y/N this is OMORI!" She says with a smile, "and OMORI this is Y/N! We met them while they were in the forest."
"Hi!! It's nice to meet you!" You say, you extend your hand to properly greet him, but all he does is stare at you in silence.
You retreated your hand, and just simply smiled. You were excited to make a new friend!
It was just a normal day at the playground. You were reading your favorite book for about the 100th time while the other kids played hide and seek like they do every day. Honestly it looked like a ton of fun, but you were way too nervous around other kids to join in. So you stayed alone reading, like how you do normal. Sure it's isolating... but it's easy.
On this particular day however, during a game of hide and seek you were reading under the slide when abruptly a girl with a pink bow rushed to join you under it, you stared at her with a mix of confusion and alarm.
After the initial panic eased over you looked at her desperate face, pleading to not get caught as she looked for the seeker.
"You know.." You started, she turned her head to face you, slightly alarmed. Almost as if she didn't realize that there was another person with her. " Um.. I don't really think that this is, uh, a good hiding spot," you whispered.
She looked in thought for a couple of moments, like she was deeply considering your words, but then she just simply laughed it off. "Yeah, you're probably right, there weren't many hiding spaces left," she said with a smile, "my name is AUBREY! What's yours?"
"Uhm, it's Y/N..." You stated nervously as she gave you another smile.
"That's a nice name! Well, Y/N , I hope you don't mind me staying here for the rest of the game."
"It's..fine.." You put on a small, meek smile of your own as she continued to look out for the seeker.
You begrudgingly searched through the heaps of trash in the JUNKYARD. Grimacing as you made a mental note to h e a v i l y wash your hands after this.
Sighing in frustration you placed your hands on your hips about to give up your search when you heard and saw a group of colorful people approach. Well, mostly colorful; there was a black and white boy accompanying them.
Suddenly next to you, a boy from that group with medium-ish hair starts digging around in the trash for fun. You couldn't do anything but stare at him in disgust.
He stops fishing from the trash and exclaims "Oh cool! Funky looking candy!!" He was about to put the garbage in his mouth before you snatched it from his hand.
"First of all, that's not candy, and secondly it's a COMPUTER PART that I was searching for." You said, examining the part.
"Oh well you can have it! I'm KEL by the way!!" He beamed.
"Y/N," you plainly stated, eyes still fixated on the COMPUTER PART.
Tree-like shapes blurred by as you sprinted through the VAST FOREST. You agreed when KEL challenged you to a race. Sure, he was a few years younger than you, but you related to his energy and enthusiasm over the past couple of weeks that you got to know him.
"Hey Y/N!" KEL shouted, you weren't quite sure if he understood that you weren't that far away from him so he didn't need to yell. " I bet you can't beat me to the TRAIN STATION"
"You're on!!" You challenged, as soon as you said that, the both of you started sprinting faster until KEL reached the TRAIN STATION first. You caught up soon after, putting your hands on your knees as the both of you panted.
"Good...game," you said in between huffs. You offered your hand toward him. He took it proudly, a cocky grin on his face.
"You're not too bad...for an old person," He teased, you just rolled your eyes.
"I'm not that older than you, y'know." You stuck out your tongue.
"True true, actually now that I think about it you're about the same age as HERO." KEL said, putting an arm behind his head. "Speaking of which...HEY HERO!!" KEL yelled, running up to a boy behind you. He looked almost like KEL, but his hair was shorter and he was taller than him."Guess what?" He asked energetically, " I beat Y/N at a race. I'm the king of races!" He shouts proudly.
"Uhm that's great and all..." the supposed 'HERO' said, trying to calm KEL down, "but who is Y/N?" He wondered, scratching his chin. You appeared from behind KEL, waving energetically.
"That's me!" You stated with a closed-eye smile.
"Well nice to meet you. I'm HERO." He said calmly. He whispered to you as KEL ran off again doing who knows what, "Sorry you have to deal with my brother."
"No worries!! He's super fun anyways!" You grinned, making HERO smirk in return.
It's hard to pinpoint the exact moment that you and BASIL met. You were both neighbors in HEADSPACE and childhood friends since. You and BASIL have been really close throughout your entire lives, you being the rock that helps keep him stable. He finds it difficult to imagine how he would be without you and for that he is grateful.
You both bond over his love of gardening and him talking about his friends. You are acquainted with them, but you prefer to spend your time with BASIL when he's not with them. Around you BASIL feels the calmest, you guys are like two peas in a pod.
You were looking around the VAST FOREST for anyone or anything that could aid the multiple wounds that were scattered across your body. Who knew that those FOREST BUNNIES had so much vigor.
Yeah.. getting beat up by bunnies wasn't your proudest flex....
Ahead of you, there was a picnic set up, a lone girl sitting there and humming to herself. When she saw you she quickly rushed over; " Oh my goodness! Are you okay? You look really injured. Here, heal up at my picnic," with no better option you obliged and enjoyed a picnic with her,
"Heh, thanks a lot.. uhh I don't really know your name, but you really helped me back there," you thanked her, flashing her an apologetic simper.
The girl chuckled in response "It's MARI, and you are?"
"Y/N!!"
"It's a pleasure to be helping you Y/N, but be more careful out there!" MARI said concerned, I mean, how did you even let mere bunnies get you this bad. "That being said, I hope I see you again!" She giggled.
You were friends with ROSA, ( a questionable choice, I know, but you try your best to be nice to everyone) you were probably the closest friend she had, which probably isn't saying much but it meant a lot to her.
But the thing with being friends with ROSA, is that you have to hear a ton about SWEETHEART, and to be honest, you can't say that you are a fan. I mean, she is self centered, and doesn't even care for the people that do adore her, who does that?!
ROSA was excited one day, and she said it was because she was able to get really good tickets to SWEETHEART'S QUEST FOR HEARTS. You just kinda brushed it off, I didn't really involve you right? Wrong. ROSA also got tickets for you.
However, what she failed to tell you was that she signed you up to be a contestant.
The day came to the time of the show, to say that you were not excited was an understatement, you were dreading it. But just as you were about to take a seat in a seat that you thought was meant to be yours, ROSA pulled you backstage. Reasonably, you were really confused, and left even more puzzled when the only words she said were: "Okay! Good luck! Bye~!"
"Wait wha-" aannd, she's gone. Well, I guess you are on your own now. This is what you get for befriending people - or I guess SPROUT MOLES- like ROSA.
You waited for what felt like a long time, and from what it sounds, the show has started. You could hear SPROUT MOLE MIKE begin to announce the contestants. "And coming in next is contestant #2.... Y/NNN"
Wait a minute.
That's your name.
You didn't have much time to think as you were being shoved onto the stage. From the audience you could see ROSA smirking devilishly. You will get her back for this. You stood in the same spot awkwardly as SPROUT MOLE MIKE continued to introduce the rest of the contestants, when finally, the moment that you were apprehensive about came.
SWEETHEART was revealed. She looked pretty, you would admit, but no beauty could make you ignore how much you loathed her. She turned her attention to the first SPROUT MOLE. "No," Is all she simply said before heading towards you.
"Now this,,, this is what I like," you couldn't help but scoff as SWEETHEART laughed obnoxiously, "OHOHOHOHOH, I can tell you will be fun."
Sure, the sky looked just about the same everywhere in HEADSPACE, but there was something just so calming about stargazing in OTHERWORLD. You would find yourself sneaking away into the OTHERWORLD CAMPSITE to just admire the stars.
One time while you were doing this, you got so enchanted by the space above you, constellations littered the sky like sprinkles on a birthday cake. Time flew by, you didn't know how long you've been there, but that wasn't a concern to you, you were content right where you are. You slowly started to close your eyes in the peace that you found.
That is...
Until you heard rustling next to you in the grass.
You quickly whipped your head to the right to find the space captain lying down next to you, his attention focused on the stars above the both of you, "They are quite captivating aren't they," he said calmly.
You turned your focus back on the sky. He was right. "Yeah.." You sighed.
The both of you just stayed like that in silence. Admiring the stars together. You weren't sure why he was there, you figured that being a space captain and all, there would be more fun and adventurous things to attend to, but perhaps he needed a break. You knew that you needed one at least.
The silence was awkward at first, but gradually it became more comfortable, like he wasn't there at all.

The sun in the park beamed down on you as you dribbled the basketball. You maneuvered around the court, pretending to be dodging opponents, until you reached the net close enough to make a shot.
The ball went in the net effortlessly and you pumped your fist in the air, "Hell yeah!" To celebrate your victory you lied in the middle of the court on your back taking swigs from your water bottle, until you heard a familiar voice.
"Oh hey! It's Y/N!"
You got up to face KEL, a friend from school that you knew due to the both of you playing basketball. He wasn't alone though, behind him was a quiet looking boy.
"Hey KEL!" You greeted, "and hey KEL'S friend!" You added, smiling at both of them. " I was just finishing practice!"
"Cool! I probably need to practice too, but my old friend, SUNNY is moving. So I want to spend time with him before he goes." KEL explains. "Oh speaking of which, SUNNY, this is Y/N!" KEL introduced you.
SUNNY gave a small wave, before heading off with KEL leaving you to practice alone again. Something about him made you want to learn more.
You were taking a walk around FARAWAY TOWN when you decided to stop at the park, being an outgoing and charismatic person by nature, you were bound to make friends anywhere.
After greeting all of the people that you were familiar with, the PRETTY BOY, MINCY, the OLD HOBO, and heck, even the RECYCULTISTS. But one girl in particular that you haven't met caught your eye.
She had cotton-candy-pink hair with a bright turquoise ribbon tied in it, based on that she seemed like a nice person to get along with right? I mean everything about her screamed adorable.
You couldn't be more wrong.
"Heya!" You chirped as you approached her. " I love your hair!! It looks so good on you!" You complimented her.
She just stared at you for a moment, processing what you said, then her perplexed face turned into an angry one. "... Are you mocking me? What the hell do you want? Back off."
"Oh nono!" You clarified, "I'm not mocking you, I just genuinely think you look so cool and I'd like to be your friend!"
"Pfft. Friends?" She repeated, she could help but let out a dry chuckle, she had admired your ignorance of the situation. It was as if you lived in your own little world. " What's your name anyway?"
"Its Y/N!" You answered cheerfully, a wide smile always seemingly to be present on your face. You waited for a while. thinking that at some point she would respond with her name.
Seeing that she really had no way to avoid this situation, she let out a frustrated sigh, "if I give you my name will you leave me alone?" She asked. You just nodded, nothing she said seemed to phase you. "Fine it's AUBREY."
"I hope to see you again, AUBREY," you say as you leave the park. Leaving AUBREY confused on what really just happened.
Afterschool, you went to the gym because you had an (insert sport) meet there. However, when you opened the gym doors, instead of your team being there, there was just a tan boy with medium length brown hair.
Needless to say, you must have got the date wrong for the meet.
You saw the boy as he was shooting hoops, he seemed to be good at it, but you were up for a challenge. He had just scored another hoop before he saw you in the doorway.
"Oh uh can I help you?" He asked.
"No, but I guess you can't help being bad at shooting," you said casually, a mischievous smirk on your face.
He looked shocked for a minute before laughing, " Is that a challenge?" There was a playful glint in his eyes.
"Y'know what," you said, "it is."
"Ohhh you're on!"
Yeahh there was no way you were going to beat him, I mean, you didn't even play basketball. But it still seemed fun to take up a challenge, despite it being nearly impossible. The pair of you took turns shooting hoops, the one that missed the most being the loser.
Naturally, you lost.
The boy patted you on the back after doing a little victory dance. "Hey! Good game, you make quite the challenge, I'll be seeing you later."
"You bet!"
Boy, you did not expect medical school to be this difficult. You were just barely passing any of your classes. You didn't know how come it turned out to be so difficult, you were paying attention in the lectures and taking notes, but somehow nothing seemed to stick for you.
So you decided to head to the library on campus, perhaps you could actually understand the material you're learning then.
Unfortunately, when you walked into the library, all the tables were taken. Great. You made your way to the nearest table, there was a boy you recognize from your class, HERO you think was his name.
"Hey, uh , do you mind if I sit here? I'll be quiet, just there are no more tables available," you say.
"Huh? Oh yeah of course," HERO said with a tired smirk. He re-organized the notebooks and papers he had out so you had more room on the table for yourself. "Your... Y/N right? I don't think we properly met."
"Yep! How are the classes treating you?"
"Well, they sure are stressful," he said with a light laugh.
"Yeah I feel you there." You sighed.
HERO continued to study quietly, but now occasionally looking up at you and giving you a reassuring smirk.
AUBREY held the photo album above him looking through it, her face getting more and more furious as she turned the pages. "What the hell did you do with the pictures," she spat, the nastines clear in her voice.
You and the rest of THE HOOLIGANS watched from behind her, unsure of how this situation is going to play out. The blond haired boy was sobbing "Please AUBREY," he whimpered, " I just want it back..."
You were starting to question whether AUBREY was doing the right thing or not. I mean what could have the boy done that was so bad to the photos to cause all of this?
"You want it back?" She parroted, "Psh, yeah, there is no way that's happening. I'm not leaving something like this in your 'care' again. Honestly you're so pathetic. I mean you really can't live without this? Grow up BASIL."
The boy started crying harder. That's it. You had enough. You walked up to AUBREY and snatched the photo album from her grasp and handed it over to the blonde boy. You muttered a "Sorry," before you stormed out of the park. You were so done with AUBREY she has taken it too far this time.
