LEXI'S BODY WAS SHAKING AS SHE stepped out of the locker room, already feeling the eyes that were on her. She didn't want to look up because if she did, tears would instantly pour out and Lexi didn't want that as she refrained from showing weakness to her opponent.
Before Lexi could even try to ignore her dads, Johnny appeared in front of the girl out of nowhere, having a look of worry and guilt on his face.ย
"Dad, I don't want to talk to you," Lexi said, struggling to keep her tough composure. She walked past Johnny, bumping his shoulder harshly, and was about to take her spot, until another person stopped in front of her.
There stood, Annabeth, with a smile that seemed almost as fake as her overexaggerated breasts. Lexi groaned out in annoyance and in shock, not expecting to see Annabeth here.
"Why the hell are you here?" Lexi asked angrily, trying to walk away from Annabeth, but she was persistent to talk to the girl.
"I think we got off on the wrong footโ"
"Yeah, no shit. First, you come into my life thinking you have authority over me, and two, I just found out you're related to the man that made both of my dads' life a living hell when they were my age. Now please move, I have a tournament to win." Lexi felt the tears start to well up, but she quickly took in a deep exasperated breath, trying to calm herself before the fight.
Lexi flattened out her gi, the eyes that once had tears in them, were replaced with an emotionless and dangerous look. Eli desperately wanted to talk to his girlfriend, but he didn't want to risk her breaking down, especially before a fight.
"Up next, we have Elexcia LaRusso from Eagle Fang karate going up against Riley Ronin from Cobra Kai!" Lexi furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, not recognizing the girl's name, but she assumed that she was a new student from Cobra Kai.
The two teens got onto the mat and bowed before getting into their fighting stances. Eli was worried about his girlfriend, not liking the way it looked like she had an immense amount of weight that was waiting to implode inside of her head.
And whenever Lexi had a lot on her mind, she had the tendency of getting distracted.
The two girls stood in front of each other with their game faces and once the ref said 'fight', Riley instantly moved forward, throwing punches as Lexi dodged them smoothly. Lexi got a point when Riley lost her rhythm and she used this as an advantage to strike her stomach.
"Point, LaRusso." Lexi smiled subtly, then turned around to walk back to her spot. She lifted her head up to see the proud faces of her dads, then diverted her vision to see her proud boyfriend who was screaming her name and cheering her on with energy that filled the entire floor.
For this round, Lexi was going to use Eagle Fang as her tactic to throw off Riley. Both girls got into their fighting positions and waited for the ref to say 'fight.'
Once Lexi heard the voice of the ref, she instantly struck forward, catching Riley off as she attempted to block her kicks and punches, but was faltering her moves as she backed up. Lexi had the upper hand for this round and swiftly hit Riley in the stomach, earning herself another point.
But before the girls could get into positions for their third round, Silver called time so he can talk to Riley.
"I almost had her, sensei, but she caught me off guard in the second round."ย Silver didn't say anything, he walked closer to the teenager and stared into her eyes seriously.
"Take her out of commission," Silver said to Riley, dead in the eye. The girl's eyes widened and she looked back at Kreese, who had the same look as she did on her face.
"Terry, hold on a secondโ"
Kreese attempted to convince Terry otherwise, but he turned to him, with a deadly look in his eye and cut him off instantly.
"Get. Her. Out. Of. Commission."
"Sensei, I can't do that. Not to her and I'm going to hurt her. Badly," Riley pleaded with her sensei, but it was no use.
Tory stepped in too and looked to see that Robby was on the other side where he couldn't hear the conversation. Tory knew that if Robby heard the conversation, he would go on the mat himself to stop the fight from happening.ย ย
"Sensei, you can'tโ"
"Nichols, shut it," Terry spat at her, the look of a sociopath laced in his cerulean eyes, the bottom of it slightly twitching. He glared at Tory before turning back to Riley. "Get her out of commission," Terry said finally.
Riley reluctantly nodded and bowed to her senseis before going back onto the mat, looking at Lexi with regret and sympathy. The girls got into their positions once again andย Lexi looked at Riley with confusion, not sure why she had this look on her face, but she brushed it off and regained her focus.
"Fight!"ย
Lexi didn't even have time to use her defense or offense when Riley out of nowhere jumped in the air and hit the back of her knee with so much force, Lexi fell onto the floor and screamed in agonizing pain. Her leg felt numb, a tender bruise already forming darkly around the back of her knee.
Lexi didn't care if she was in front of anyone as she let tears slip down her eyes, her piercing screams filling the entire building. The sounds of people's footsteps approaching her made Lexi even more in pain, knowing that she lost her only chance of winning the girls' tournament.
"Elexcia, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I didn't mean it!" Riley said to Lexi before she was pried off of her by the ref.
Daniel, Johnny, Sam, Eli, and Robby instantly got onto the mat and attempted to support the girl as much as they could, but nothing was helping. The pain was overbearing the soothing voices of the people that cared for her.
Medics then carried Lexi off of the mat and into the locker room where she was going to get checked out by the nurse. Once she got into the locker room, Lexi was laid on the stretcher that was already there for emergencies and all she wanted was Eli to be there by her side.
When the nurse checked out her leg, it was declared that nothing was broken, but it would be severely sore for the next weeks to come. The nurse left, leaving Lexi alone and she let out an exasperated sigh, debating whether she should suck it up and compete in the next round.
"Princess, I know what you're thinking and there's no way in hell you're going back on the mat." Lexi looked up to see Eli, crossing his arms across his chest as he leaned against the doorframe.
"You know me so well, Eli. But we'll see, I really want to win for my dad, you know?" Lexi looked down to her feet, the thought of letting her dad down made her head pound with worry and pain. She felt the familiar thumb brush against her chin as it lifted it up so she can face Eli.
"Your dad will be proud of you either way. He's already proud of you for everything, trust me, I know." Lexi smiled softly at her boyfriend and leaned in, pressing her lips gently against his. Eli stood between Lexi's legs, him hugging her, rubbing small circles on her back as she sat down on the stretcher.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't know he was in here." The couple turned their heads to see Robby, who seemed to be uncomfortable to be in the same room as Eli. Robby was about to leave, but he heard the authoritative
tone in his sisters voice, scaring him slightly.
"No, no, didn't you dare leave, Robert. Sit your ass down," Lexi said in a warning tone. Robby walked closer to his sister, glaring at Eli along the way. Lexi's boyfriend was about to leave the locker room until she gripped his wrist gently, refraining him from leaving.
"And you, sit your ass down too," Lexi said sternly to her boyfriend. Both of the boys glared at each other before they looked at Lexi, waiting for her to talk again.
"Aw, look at this, my two favorite boys in the world standing next to each other." Lexi's tone of voice was filled with tease and she couldn't help but smirk at how close the boys were without hitting one another.
"Really, Lex, you told us to stay so you can see us together in the same room?" Robby said, a smile forming as he couldn't hide it from his sister.
"What? Heal my pain with humor, brother," Lexi said while shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly. "But if you're here to convince me not to go up in the next round, then you can leave," Lexi said, looking up at her brother.
"Well I'm not going to leave, and you're not going to fight either." Robby looked at his sister seriously, not wanting her to fight and hurt herself even more. "I swear, I had nothing to do with what Riley did. If I did know, I would've probably beat the shit out of whoever gave the order to do this to you."
"No, you wouldn't, because I don't want you to go back to juvie, dumbass." Robby sarcastically glared at his sister as Lexi stuck her tongue out, acting like an immature child.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but for once I agree with Robby. One, you're not going to fight and two, I'm going to beat the shit out of the person who gave the orders to do this to you." Robby looked at Eli, surprised that for once, they actually agreed on something.
Lexi smiled at the boys in front of her, overjoyed by the fact that they were gradually starting to get along, and in the future, Lexi hoped that they would finally be on good terms. Lexi kept Eli and Robby in the same room for a couple of minutes, before Robby left, he went back to his dojo, leaving Eli and Lexi alone.
"Please make the right choice, princess." Eli gave one last kiss on Lexi's lips before he left her alone, but the kiss slowly got more heated, Eli refraining from removing his lips from his girlfriend.
He pushed her down gently on the stretcher, him crawling on top of her as Eli started to pepper soft kisses on her neck, Lexi letting out a shaky breath. She felt Eli's smirk on her neck and pushed him away quickly, not letting him get the upper hand.
"We can do that later, okay? You need to focus on your tournament soon," Lexi attempted to say seriously to her boyfriend.
"But I'd rather stay here with you," Eli said in a whiny tone, like a child.
"Yeah, yeah. I'll see you later, okay love?" Eli nodded reluctantly and pressed a kiss filled with adoration on Lexi's soft lips, tasting her vanilla lip balm.
"Okay. I love you, princess." Eli pressed another quick kiss on Lexi's cheek before leaving the locker room, leaving Lexi with nothing but her loud thoughts.
She wanted to listen to her brother and boyfriend, not wanting herself to get injured any further, but at the same time, the thought of her disappointing Johnny made Lexi divert her decision immensely.
And the girl had no idea what to do.
