"LEXI, GET YOUR LAZY TEENAGER ass out of your bed. You haven't had a decent meal all day so eat before I shove food down your throat." Lexi rolled her eyes at Johnny, throwing her pillow over her head as she wanted to drown out everything in her presence right now.
Ever since the fight with Hawk, Lexi has been sulking in her bed, not looking forward to school the next day. She has gotten multiple texts from her friends, including Hawk and Robby, but she ignored everyone excluding Demetri who was the only person she wasn't terribly pissed at right now.
"Go away, I'm not getting out of bed," Lexi said, her voice muffled as her face was burrowed into her pillow. Johnny sighed in frustration and put the rest of his beef jerky stick in his mouth before yanking the comfy blankets off of Lexi and picking her up bridal style. Lexi seemed to finally be more awake, but she groaned in annoyance, wanting to be back in her bed desperately.
Johnny threw her down onto the couch, her hair flying all over her face. Glaring at her father for a second, Lexi fixed her hair and looked down at the table, seeing chili beans with a glass of orange juice. Lexi said she wasn't hungry, but once she smelled the food, her hunger increased instantly.
"Are you really going to fight Dad? It seems stupid and useless. Both Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do have their perks to them."
"Yes, it is necessary and I'm going to win because Eagle Fang is more useful in a fight rather than that pansy Miyagi-Do crap." Lexi nodded her head, acting as if she cared about what Johnny was saying but honestly, she was too focused on the food in front of her to listen to her father bashing out on her other dad. Hawk was also consistently on her mind, their fight still imbedded deeply into her brain.
"Are you even listening to me?" Lexi's hearing started to fade back into reality and she looked up at Johnny, her eyes completely blank, indicating to him that she did not listen to a word he said. Johnny sighed and rubbed his eyes before sitting next to Lexi, a subtle look of worry on his face.
"Okay, what's wrong, sweetie? Is it Hawk because I would gladly kick his ass again if it means there will be a smile on your face," Johnny said very seriously. Lexi tried to hold in her laughter but failed miserably as Johnny noticed the small smirk lifting on the edge of her lips.
"Ah, there she is. There's the smile that brightens my day. Can you tell me what happened?" Johnny didn't mean to pry, but she was his daughter and worry came naturally to him.
At first, Lexi was hesitant to tell Johnny, thinking he wouldn't take things seriously, but when she scanned his face, she knew he was all ears and no jokes.
"Hawk is starting to bully kids again. I didn't want to believe it at first, but it's hard to deny it when it happened right in front of you. Everything escalated from there and here I am, a broken teenager with a crappy life at the moment."
Johnny didn't respond, he simply stood up and grabbed his car keys near the front door. "Are you coming?"
Lexi was surprised, not sure where they were going, but she nodded her head and stood up, following after her father and getting into his newly customized van.

The vibrant orange and yellow colors of the receding sunset vibrantly shone on the faces of Lexi and Johnny. Lexi was still unsure of why her father would take her here, but she couldn't deny the beauty that was in front of her.
"Dad, why are we at the beach?" Lexi expected a snarky response from Johnny, but what he said next surprised her.
"This. You see, the sunset is you, Lex. It's beautiful, shines every day with wonderfully bright colors and no matter how bad your day is, the sun will set, you will sleep and wake up with a fresh new start to make tomorrow an even better day." Lexi's eyes widened at Johnny's choice of words, knowing he rarely said phrases like this.
"Wow, I didn't know you were so poetic. But what happens if it's a dark and rainy day where it's constantly cloudy? Are you saying I will be sad all day then?" Johnny was at a loss of words, trying to figure out how to retaliate at his daughter's question.
"Well, you see- it can beβoh shut up. I tried my best to cheer you up, okay?" Johnny said with faux anger laced in his voice. Lexi chuckled at him softly before going up to Johnny and giving him a warm hug.
The sunset was really beautiful and Lexi was glad that Johnny took her out for this view. it was a memory she would never forget as their father-daughter bonding grew stronger daily.
But there were still many questions she had for Johnny, one of them being in her mind every day ever since she came home from the hospital.
"Dad, can you tell me about Annabeth?" The sudden question made Johnny's heart drop, not many fond memories of the woman and he pulled away from the hug, looking into Lexi's eyes.
"Another time, come on, let's go home, "Johnny said a little too quickly, gaining suspicion from Lexi. She wasn't sure why Johnny was acting this way, but she needed to find answers one way or another.

The next day at school, Lexi stood by her locker, attempting to try and ignore any interactions with Hawk. She knew he would have been with Demetri, so if she heard obnoxious complaining, then Lexi knew they were around.
But Lexi's senses were off today as she ran straight into the person she dreaded to see. Not only did she see Hawk, but she also noticed how his hair was dyed a dark hue of violet, her eyes widening in sadness.
Walking up to Hawk, she looked at his new hair-do and scoffed. "I thought we planned to dye our hair together?" Lexi was saddened, remembering the time where Hawk planned that they would dye their hair purple to match, but that seemed to not be the case anymore.
"Yeah, well I guess that was before I was called a dick by you," Hawk said in a sharp and hurtful tone, Lexi slumping in her place. "And I'm pretty sure Moon dyed my hair better than you ever could."
Moon looked at Lexi and immediately walked up to her. "Lexi, I'm so sorry, I didn't know you guys weren't on good terms. Hawk told me that you canceled on him so that's why he asked me to dye his hair. I had no idea."
Lexi mumbled a small 'it's okay' before speeding down the hallways, not daring to look at Hawk in the eyes. She felt Hawk's stare burrowing in the back of her skull, but she ignored it, also downing out Demetri calling out her name repeatedly.
Tears were streaming down her face and her blurry vision was stuck on her feet, not wanting to let anyone see her like this. Lexi abruptly turned around the corner and was close to her next class, until she felt a gentle grip on her forearm, refraining her from walking any further.
"Hey, Lexi do you know if your dads areβwait, are you crying?" when Miguel noticed Lexi's bloodshot eyes, he frantically tapped Sam's shoulder, getting the attention of Lexi's sister.
"Oh my god, Lexi, what happened?" Miguel and Sam said instantaneously.
"Ask Hawk," was all Lexi said before speeding down the hallways again. Sam chased after her sister while Miguel stood dumbfounded at his locker. As if on queue, Hawk and Demetri turned around the corner and Miguel certainly did not look happy to see the purple-haired boy.
"Dude are you serious right now? You're smiling and laughing while your girlfriend is crying in the hallways," Miguel said with venom in his voice. For a split second, there was a look of concern in Hawk's eyes, but it was quickly replaced with disinterest, his cocky stance replacing the worry.
"What? Lexi was the one who started this entire argument. It's not my fault," Hawk spat.
"Oh my god, what are you five? She's your girlfriend, grow up and talk to her. Work things out! I can't stand to see her like this so you better clean up your act, Hawk." Miguel shut his locker harshly before attempting to find Sam and Lexi.
Hawk felt like crap. He didn't want to hurt Lexi, but his stubbornness got in the way with everything. Demetri finally was able to have a one-on-one conversation with his ridiculous friend, wanting to figure out why he was acting like a massive jerk.
But what Lexi didn't know was the next conversation between Hawk and Demetri after running into Miguel, clarified the real reason he was angry and it showed how much of a tremendous mistake he interpreted on his girlfriend.
