I GROANED AS I GOT OUT OF BED, not wanting to go to school.

But then for some reason, my mind wandered to the thought of Eli.

I smiled and remembered his adorable smile. I don't know why people make fun of him. If its just because of his lip, that's just preposterous.

I find him a genuinely nice guy who is insanely cute may I add.

I called Sam to my room and I wanted her to help me pick out a outfit for today.

Got to look a little extra cute.

"Sam!"

"Hey, sis what's up?"

"What outfit should I wear today, this one, or this one?" I asked her.

Sam gave me a suspicious look with a sly smile.

"Who are you trying to impress," Sam asked me with a smirk.

"Ugh, you caught me. His name is Eli. He's now of my friends in my new friend group"

"Ooooooo okay Lexi, get it. I also like the blue outfit."

"Thanks sis," I said

She gave me a kiss on the cheek then left to go into the living room.

I got ready in my blue dress and went downstairs to my family.

"Oh well here's the grinch," Dad said to me.

"Ha ha thanks dad," I said sarcastically.

"So why are you so dressy today," Mom asked looking at my outfit.

I looked at sam and she looked back at me, not telling Mom what was up.

"Let me guess, you're truing to impress a boy huh," Mom figured out pretty quickly .

I looked at Sam and she looked at me with wide eyes.

Mom smikred at us and then, that was when dad sat at the table with us.

"Did I hear something about boys," Dad asked.

"No, you didn't," I said quickly.

Mom and Sam looked at me as if I was a caught criminal.

Dad gave me a 'seriously' look then proceeded to eat breakfast.

"Alright, I'll take your word, but I will be keeping an eye on you," Dad said giving me a playful glare.

"Okay dad," I said glaring back.

School has finally come and I was actually pretty excited since I was going to see Eli.

"Hey lexi, wait up," I heard someone say from behind me.

"Oh hey Miguel, how are you?"

"Im doing good, so how are you liking your first few days of high school," Miguel asked.

"I actually like it, like I thought I was going to be bored out of my mind with no friends, but I think I got the friends part covered."

Miguel smiled back at me and then we parted ways since class started.

TIME SKIP

It was not lunch and it was the best part of the day since I can see Eli.

Too bad we don't have any classes together.

I walked into the cafeteria and I saw the three boys sitting at our usual table.

Eli saw me and a huge smile was plastered onto his face.

"Hi Lexi," Eli said to me while admiring my outfit. "Love the dress," he said softly.

"Awww thank you Eli, you're too sweet."

Eli was about to way something, until Miguel spoke up.

" So Lexi, you know how I have been talking about karate lately?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"Well, I think you would be a great recruit for our team. You already know karate."

As much as I would love to go and practice karate again, I don't want to disappoint or make dad .

"Thanks Miguel, but I think Im going to have to pass. I'm not so sure how my dad will feel about it."

Miguel gave me a look of understanding, but spoke up again.

"How about you just come and check it out, besides you can just spar with me."

I thought about it then agreed to just go there spar. I doubt I would join, but who knows what can happen.

"Okay that's fine, how about after school tomorrow?"

Miguel nodded with a smile and I smiled back at him.

I turned my head to see Eli looking at me even though Demetri was talking to him.

He had a mixture of anger and sadness in his eyes, but why would he be jealous?

I don't think he likes me.
