BREE GROANED AS SHE WOKE UP AND REALIZED SHE WAS AT THE WRECK.Β When she sat up, she looked around and saw Pope staring at Kie who was still sleeping. When he realized that he had been caught, he looked down at the ground before standing up as the Callaway girl did the same.

They walked over to the Maybank boy who was clicking his lighter and looking out at the water. He did not even look at them when they leaned against the railing beside him. "He's pinched for sure, man."

"No," the Heyward boy replied, shaking his head. "They wouldn't still be patrolling if they caught him."

"Let's hope," Bree sighed.

"You know, we were in that car," Kie pointed out, and they all looked over to her to see that she was awake. It would be a little creepy if she was talking and she was asleep. "They're probably looking for us to."

They all let that sink in for a minute, and Pope was the one to break the silence, suggesting that they take action. "Well, if we're gonna be outlaws, we might as well help John B."

"So, find him before they do? Pope?" JJ questioned as Pope went to grab his keys from off the table and began walking to the door without another word.Β

Bree furrowed her eyebrows. "Pope?"

"I'm gonna get gas for the boat," he informed them, and the brunette girl could tell that he was not in a good mood and that he was still giving Kie the cold shoulder.

Speaking of the Carrera girl, she stopped him for a second. "Hey, you be careful. Okay?"

He just stared at her for a second, and it seemed like they were having some unspoken conversation, causing the other two in the room to glance at each other. Pope told them, breaking his stare, "Meet me at the dock at three. Don't be late." Then, he walked out of the restaurant, and Bree and Kie shared a look before the Carrera girl followed after him.

"Okay, what is your problem?" they heard he ask him before the door swung close again.

"Okay," JJ muttered as he looked over the brunette girl that was standing on the other side of him. "So, you wanna tell me what all that was about? I know you know."

Bree glanced down at the ground. "I don't think I can say."

"Well, do you wanna go out there and listen to them fight?" he questioned with raised eyebrows, and she responded by scrambling out the door with the Maybank on her heels.

They leaned against the railing, trying to look as calm as possible as Kie apologized to the Heyward boy that was climbing onto the motorcycle. "Look, I'm sorry that I hurt your feelings."

"What was that?" he asked because he revved the vehicle while she was talking on purpose to drown her out.Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β Β

She insisted, "Look, I didn't mean to."

"Sorry, I can't hear you," Pope told her, and Bree just rolled her eyes at how stupid he was being. Sure, he was upset, but that didn't mean he had to be mean to the girl he loved. "What was that?"

"Pope, I'm being serious. I'm trying to talk to you!" Kie yelled, but he drove away without responding to her. She just groaned and turned back around, walking back toward the porch and widening her eyes when she saw her friends standing there.

JJ pushed Bree toward the steps as he stepped back inside. "You know, this seems like a problem that youΒ can solve." She just glared at him before turning to the Carrera girl as she walked down the stairs.

"You okay?" she quizzed with a worried expression.

"Yeah," the raven-haired girl responded with a nod as she ran a stressed hand through her hair as she glanced back in the direction that Pope had just disappeared. "I just...I feel really bad."

Bree just shrugged, taking another step forward. "I'm sure he'll get over it. It's not your fault that you're not in love with him."

"Thanks, Bree," the Carrera girl told her, shooting her a small smile before walking over to her and giving her a hug.

"Oh," the Callaway girl exclaimed in shock when she realized what was happening. She slowly wrapped arms around the other girl as she rested her head on her shoulder. "We're hugging now."

The raven-haired girl pulled away, but she left her arms gripping the other girl's as she smiled at her with a grateful look in her eyes. "You're a really great friend, you know that?"

"Yeah, I know," Bree replied with a wink and a smug smirk as they began to walk back up the stairs and into the restaurant.

Kie rolled her eyes as they swung the door open to see JJ laying on the ground and throwing his hacky sack up in the air and catching it. He paused when they walked in. "Now I regret saying it."

"Too late," the brunette girl responded with a shrug. "You can't take it back."

"HOW COME EVERYTHING YOU GRABBED IS BAD?" BREE ASKED JJ.Β  They were currently raiding the pantry of the Wreck because basically every single thing that the Maybank boy got from Heyward's the night before was expired, even the stuff that couldn't expire was expired.

He just shrugged, "I grabbed from the back of the rows and stuff so that Pope's dad wouldn't noticed everything was gone. He also had this box full of expired crap."

"You ever think that the box was supposed to be thrown out and not stolen by you?" Kie questioned him with furrowed eyebrows.

Bree just shook her head at his idiocy. "You know you could've just taken the stuff from the front and pushed the stuff from the back to the front, right? You made it so much more difficult than it needed to me."

"Those are...both very good points, but it's all in the past now," he responded, pointing a finger at each other them. "Now, onto the more interesting topic, Kie, you sure he wasn't just being weird Pope?"

"I mean, it wasn't the kind of thing that needed interpretation. Is that gonna be enough food for them?" she quizzed as she handed a couple bags of snacks and drinks to him.

The blonde boy looked at it and nodded slightly. "I mean, for a couple of weeks, and that's all they need, so..."

"Look, I think I actually hurt his feelings," the Carrera girl told them, and Bree could tell that she was regretting being so harsh on the Heyward boy when he confessed his love to her.

"Look, don't beat yourself up too much. He's completely changed his feels," JJ assured her as he and Bree each grabbed a box of supplies and followed Kie out the door. "The past 24 hours have been like Jekyll and Hyde."

Kie sighed, "I hate to admit it, but I miss the old Pope. At least I know what to expect from him."

"Where you been?" asked a stern voice, and the Callaway girl almost jumped when she saw Anna Carrera storming toward them. She threw her hands up in the air before dropping them back down to her sides as she stared at her daughter. The other two teenagers put their boxes in the back of the car.

The younger girl informed her, "Uh, I'm fine. I slept here."

"Well, we were up half the night, scared to death, looking for you," the woman let her know, her voice cracking a bit as she gazed angrily at the girl. "Were you even gonna tell us? What the hell are you three up to?"

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Carrera, but we gotta go," Bree spoke up before JJ could say something to get them in trouble.

Anna shook her head, trying to step in as her daughter pushed past her to get in the driver's seat of the car. "No. Absolutely not. Have you heard what's going on? Have you seen the storm coming in? This is not safe."

"Mom, I'll explain later. I'm sorry, Mom. I have to go. I have to go! John B needs me," Kie told her as she climbed into the car, and Bree and JJ did the same.Β

"These cops are armed, Kiara. You'll get shot. I am not letting you do this!" the Carrera woman yelled as the younger one apologized before closing the door and starting the vehicle. "Kiara, open this door! Stop it right now. Right now, Kiara! This is not safe! Stop! Kiara!"

She kept yelling after them as Kie drove away, yelling 'sorry' about a million times even after her mother could not hear her anymore. They could not worry about that though because they were moving onto stage two of the planΒ β€” get the keys.

They drove JJ to his house and parked in his driveway. Tears were already beginning to form in his eyes as he told them, "Home sweet home."

"Do you want me to come?" Bree asked him as he took his hat off and ran a hand through his hair. She could tell that he most definitely did not want to go in there, but it was necessary for the plan. "I can come. I don't mind."

"No. This'll only take a second," he informed them before climbing out of the car and walking up to the door, bringing his backpack with him. He sent them one last look before entering the house.

Kie looked back at the brunette girl in the back seat with a smug smile. Bree just glared back at her. "Can't a girl be worried about her friend without you giving me that look?"

"What look?" the raven-haired girl questioned, but she was still making the giddy face.

"That look." The Callway girl pointed at her lips that were still smirking. "The one that's implying something that is most definitely not happening."

They went silent again until JJ walked back out of the house with an even more teary expression as he climbed into the car. He stared at the ground as Kie quizzed, "How'd it go."

He did not say anything in response, and Bree was pretty sure that if he did, his voice might break. She knew it was not any of her business, but she was still curious as to what happened in there. What was in his hand was more important to the problem at hand, though.

The keys.
