THE FOOD FIGHTERS ANSWERED A FEW QUESTIONS!

And they shared their thoughts on the "Food Fight" experience. Let's see what they had to say!

[ TO TRY NEW THINGS! ]

TERRAXXA: to try new things as a designer & to interact more with other designers.

DONGHAESHUSBAND: I was tagged and I wanted to try something like this. I've never taken part in graphic wars.

EGGYEULS: I've never joined such a big war before, except for that failed group competition earlier this year. I wanted to know what it feels like to be part of such an event — all the excitement, the competitiveness, the fun and creative outbursts from everyone, the nerve wrecking moments before the results are revealed and so on. Your "Food Fight" seemed super organized and it was a really unique idea with the food theme and all, looked really promising and comfortable at first.

[ ON THE LOOK FOR CONTESTS! ]

COLEREVEAL: I had been a fan of contests here in Wattpad, and I usually take a chance to join them and when I was tagged by -dankbot, I hopped in.

PITTIELAU: I was looking for a graphic contest to participate in for a long time. I came across your book by chance and I participated.

MIRNA_DEVOJKA: I was looking for some contests in Wattpad to improve my editing skills and got "Food Fight" recommended to me so i was excited to try it out.

[ INTERESTING CONCEPT/PROMPTS! ]

SKRRRAA: I don't exactly know why I joined the food fight , there are many reasons . I really admire Vani and her graphics and I just wanted to take part in a graphic contest, because that's just a fun thing to do ! I also think this graphic war was so , so creative and unique and Vani still puts so much love into it ..

 VANi: I feel very flattered haha!

LIKEFUL: i chose to join food fight because the concept to me was very interesting and plus i have not designed in a long time so this gave me a reason to : )

TOKYOTALES: I wanted to challenge myself a little. In general I'm afraid of anything with a deadline and unpredictable prompts. This was a good opportunity to break that habit + the food fight has an interesting concept and I knew the prompts would be creative, and completely out of my comfort zone. I also wanted to interact with the graphics community more!

LENNIE_836: Umm I wanted to join more contests but none of them seemed to have good prompts so I thought of joining here but when I saw all the talented artists joining, I was like, "I'm sure either @/eggyeuls or @/Jenseul_ will win lol.

JENSEUL_: Tbh I chose "Food Fight" because I know that you make really fun and enjoyable prompts. You are also a good judge and the contest helped me a lot.

VANi: Once again, I'm very flattered, and I'm glad this graphic war was helpful!

[ THE INTERACTIONS! ]

SKRRRAA: I really liked that , although it was a contest , everybody seemed to be peace- and respectful . That was a very very nice thing to experience !

PITTIELAU: I was very happy that other contestants commented on my covers and had good interactions, this was my favorite part.

TERRAXXA: I most enjoyed seeing other people's designs and how different their takes were on the same prompt.

[ THE PRACTICE ROUND! ]

TOKYOTALES: Probably the practice round haha. I loved the feedback and seeing everyone's entries and commenting too. I also loved working on my own as I wasn't stressed then.

JENSEUL_: The practice round was very interesting. I had fun in this round. Also got recognition plus made friends!

LENNIE_836: My fav part was when I passed the practice round, I WAS SO HAPPY ALL DAY lmao like I was literally SO happy.

[ THE MENU PROMPT! ]

COLEREVEAL: My favorite part would probably be the menu prompt. I think the challenges within that prompt were very original and definitely a challenge.

LIKEFUL: my favorite part would be the menu design! it was a prompt that was v refreshing and i could express myself through parts of the prompt such as my fav food n bkgd n such~ also having our own icons was a very cute touch.

[ THE SECOND ROUND! ]

DONGHAESHUSBAND: I liked the second round which was very challenging for me. Also, I loved your reviews of the graphics. They were very helpful.

[ THE "FOOD FIGHT"S ORGANIZATION! ]

EGGYEULS: I absolutely appreciate how well organized this competition was (or actually still is at this point)! You had this calendar overview (which was super helpful and a really great idea) and kept everyone always updated on changes, gave us reminders to submit if we haven't yet, tagged us in results and new prompts to make sure we were always on track with the competition. I think that was especially helpful for designers who joined such a big event for the very first time. Very appreciated!

MIRNA_DEVOJKA: honestly the whole "Food Fight" was organised very well and it stood out from other similar contests on Wattpad since it looked pretty professional and ideas were very new and interesting. i would say for my favourite part how everything was planned out and designed, since it was really unique if that makes sense.

[ CREATING DIFFERENT KINDS OF GRAPHICS! ]

COLEREVEAL: I think other participants would say this as well but the logo making prompt was the hardest. Although at the same it's also refreshing and new since making a logo wasn't an everyday thing.

TERRAXXA: Making new, unfamiliar types of graphics like a menu and logo (but this was also enjoyable).

TOKYOTALES: The menu!! I am not good at things like that so figuring out how to place everything and deal with the format was super hard. I think I might make a few more similar things so that I have practice in the future.

JENSEUL_: The first round. The only things I am good at are manip and blend. In the first round I tried to do something different and tried out vector but I failed miserably. (One of the reasons I couldn't submit the entry)

EGGYEULS: The entries themselves. I enjoyed the very first round the most and it was also the most satisfying entry for myself. Though, throughout the other rounds and judgings a for all the entries from the participants I got the feeling that certain styles/techniques were less wanted than others or doing well less than others. So on one hand I wanted to try out different things I usually try to avoid, but on the other hand I felt like there were specific things expected already. Nonetheless I've learned a lot throughout all the prompts and entries I've made.

[ CHALLENGING PROMPTS! ]

MIRNA_DEVOJKA: prompts were a little challenging so i would say coming up with an idea that will stand out.

PITTIELAU: I think it is to prepare a design suitable for the form you give.

[ BEING SATISFIED WITH ENTRIES! ]

LENNIE_836: One would be that when I submitted my entry for the 1st round, I remembered that we couldn't change the entry so the guilt of submitting such a terrible entry was killing me lmao I was sure to not win but still my heart broke- haha jk!

SKRRRAA: Definitely handing in the last entry ( "adventurous eaters") . I really didn't like it, so it was kinda hard to show it to somebody as the "final" entry .

[ COMMITMENT AND MOTIVATION! ]

DONGHAESHUSBAND: Usually, I take part in the contests that I like. In this, I had to make a graphic because I had taken part. I liked that aspect. It made me try new things.

LIKEFUL: the biggest challenge i faced during food fight would probably be time management and motivation. i didn't realize my final project for class was also due around the time so for a couple days i would just have photoshop open 24/7 n work back n forth on designs T__T
