HER HEAD FELT HEAVY AS SHE SLOWLY OPENED HER EYES, blinking as the light in the room seemed to blind her. A groan left her lips as her hand moved slightly to her head before she tried to get up. "Hey, slow down," a deep voice rose inside her ears and Daphne finally did look up. Her gaze met the worried look of Dick Grayson before she let her eyes roam over the room that didn't seem familiar.
"Take it easy, huh."
His hand landed on her shoulder as if he wanted so soothed her. Her eyes found his. "What happened?" She asked, her throat feeling a little sore as the pounding in her head got even worse. Her hand wandered to her forehead before she flinched as she touched a certain spot.
"You probably shouldn't do that," Dick murmured and Daphne lowered her arm carefully. "What happened?" She asked again after he seemed to ignore her question. "In that house," he started as his eyes watched her movements like he wasn't sure what she could do next. "Rachel lost control and you," Dick halted in his words, his lips slightly open as he watched her. Fear made its way in her bones as it all came back to her.
Of what she did.
She blinked as she quickly avoided eye contact, trying so desperately to look at anything else than him. "Hey, it's okay," he started again but the redhead cut him off. "You don't know me, you know nothing of me so don't tell me it's okay," she almost hissed at him while she tried to get up, even when every bone in her body ached while doing so.
A silence grew between them and Daphne tried so hard from stopping the trembling of her lips.
"Well, if you need to talk about it, my door is always open," Dick suddenly said but she didn't turn around. Her gaze was fixed on something through the window, something, anything to get her mind of those flashes in her mind. She heard him walking towards the door, halting only for a moment. "I wanted to say thank you, for well saving me I guess." But as her head turned towards him, he was gone. The door closed behind him leaving her in this thickening silence.
Daphne tried to calm herself, but yet the imagines still rose in her mind higher and higher.
She had lost control, something that should not have happened at all. The redhead leaned against the cold surface of the window, releasing a breath as she enjoyed and welcomed the cold. "How could this happened?" She mumbled to herself, closing her eyes only for a moment.
Daphne remembered anything now, the moment where her powers just let loose because of this girl. This girl with whatever powers she has. This destroyer of worlds.
Harbinger of death.
She could still hear the words as Kory had read them out loud and it still made her body tremble at the thought, knowing who Kory had meant with that. Slowly, Daphne opened her eyes and even spotted the lilac haired girl outside with a green-haired boy.
How much did she miss exactly?
For a minute, Daphne allowed herself to stand by the window, watching the girl and the boy and the woods outside of this motel before she stepped backward. A shower sounded more than just good and the redhead walked towards the bathroom, already knowing how tired and hurt she must look. Her blue eyes seemed dull as she stared back at herself, almost as if she was still in a daze.
With a huff leaving her lips, the redhead turned in the shower before she undressed and welcomed the water like a second skin.

The green-haired boy, whose name Daphne learned was Garfield, Gar for short, was sent by Kory to bring her something to eat and the redhead gladly accepted the offer. Garfield was the kindness in person and probably one of the purest people Daphne had ever met. They talked a bit and the redhead even caught herself as she truly laughed as Gar told her stories about himself and his life in that mansion. About the robot and the others that lived there.
And she had listened to every story with a small smile on her lips as he kept her from falling into the dark corners of her mind without his knowledge.
And Daphne was more than grateful for that.
But Garfield eventually left the room, telling her that he had promised Rachel to go a bit outside again before he promised Daphne that he will visit her later also. With a laugh the redhead closed the door behind him, shaking her head softly afterward.
The redhead walked towards her bed as her blue orbs suddenly caught the half pulled out paper inside her jacket pocket. She took out the picture again, fingertips tracing the paper as she studied it.
It was her in the picture, there was no doubt and she knew it in her bones that this was her. But she couldn't remember.
Not where she was in that picture, why she was there or why she couldn't recall any knowledge of being there.
A thought crossed her mind and before Daphne knew it, she clung to it as if her life depended on it. And maybe it was. The words from Dick earlier didn't leave her mind and she felt tempted to knock on his door. He offered, that if she needed someone to talk to, that his door would be open. And maybe, just maybe Daphne needed to, even if she was scared to and even if her heart seemed to burst through her chest by beating so fast.
She needed to tell someone so that hopefully he could find out what or why this was happening to her.
Biting her lip the redhead stuck the picture inside her jeans pocket, as she looked into the mirror before she shook her head. Why did it matter how she looked? With another huff leaving her mouth the redhead made her way out of her door and towards the room where Dick Grayson was staying.
With every step she took her hands felt sweatier than before, heart beating faster each second and she fumbled with her clothes as she halted in front of his door.
Was this truly a good idea?
But before Daphne could change her mind, her hand rose and she knocked on the door, holding her breath as she heard someone approaching from the other side. The door swung open and Daphne was met with a scene that made her a bit speechless.
And no, it wasn't the fact that Dick Grayson stood before her with nothing but a towel around his hips, water dripping from his hair and body. Signs showing Daphne that he had taken a shower just moments before. But what the redhead shocked more was the fact that Kory was also in the room, leaning against a small cupboard on the side with a drink in her hand, still wearing her shirt purple dress. And she looked good.
Oh and how her mind suddenly turned with ideas of what she just walked into. Dick's eyes widened at the same time as he saw the look on Daphne's face like he knew what she was thinking.
"Daphne it's not-," he started but the redhead cut him off yet again. "No, I'm sorry for interrupting," she replied quickly already backing away from the door. She could feel how Kory watched her and Daphne didn't even know where to look. "It's-," she stumbled over her words and as Dick tried to reach for her, she backed away more, shaking her fiery head. "It was nothing. Sorry to disturb you two."
And with that the redhead ran towards her room, slamming the door so hard behind her that the pictures inside crashed down.
