AURORA WAS STOOD BY HER LOCKER WHEN THE OTHERS HAD WALKED IN. Well, Izzie and George were arguing with Meredith over the dog that they had adopted. It was safe to say that it wasn't a good idea. Aurora just kept her head down though, not really in the mood for much conversation. Not after her talk with Isaac. Well, it wasn't much of a talk as more of a threat. Aurora didn't know what she was going to do. Especially if what Isaac said was true. She couldn't lose this job. She couldn't go to prison.
"I don't get what your guys issue is with Doc." Meredith admits with a sigh as she just continues to walk in the room. Izzie rolls her eyes, becoming a bit frustrated with the woman who just wouldn't listen to them.
"Our issue? There are multiple." George points out loudly. Meredith just looked a bit annoyed before she walked over to Aurora. Aurora glances toward her, a bit confused.
"Hey, Alex said you were gonna stay with us, you change your mind?" Meredith asks her curiously. Aurora had completely forgotten that Alex was going to ask her to stay over. Hopefully they didn't look to much into it though.
"Uh, yeah. Everything's good now." Aurora replies with a nod, keeping her voice low. Meredith somewhat hesitated before making her way to her own locker. Aurora lifts her eyes, meeting Alex's gaze and she could tell he wanted to say something.
"He peed on my bed. My bed, Meredith." Izzie complains with a slight whine as she crosses her arms against her chest. Meredith didn't seem to really care for it though.
"He's our dog." Meredith states as she gestures to them. George scoffs as he narrows his eyes slightly.
"No, he's not my dog. You two bought him without even asking me." He points out. If he was apart of the decision, he would have said no in the first place. Aurora sighs as she rubs her face a bit, not noticing Alex walk over to her.
"What do you mean everything's good?" Alex questions as he stares at the blonde. Aurora meets his gaze reluctantly. "Did he do something?" He asks, his eyes immediately running over her for any bruises. Aurora looks around quickly.
"Can we not talk about this here?" She responds in a hushed tone, not wanting anyone else to overhear. Alex didn't seem to want to let it go though.
"We rescued him from certain death." Meredith points out as she crosses her arms against her chest. "Come on, you guys." She pleads with Izzie and George.
"I'm putting my foot down." George tells her as he stares over at Meredith. "Either the dog moves out or I do. Foot down now. Me or the dog. Which is it?" He asks. Meredith could only look back at him before slightly opening her mouth. "You hesitated. She hesitated." He states, offended as he turns to izzie.
"You hesitated?" Izzie asks with a scoff, shaking her head. Meredith just glares at the both of them. Alex was trying to ignore them though, more worried about Aurora.
"Did you get cold feet?" Alex asks, keeping his voice down so she would actually answer. Aurora just wraps her arms around herself as she shrugs her shoulders.
"I-its fine." Aurora lies but she barely even glanced in his direction which was a clear indication that nothing was okay.
"If it's fine then why can't you look at me?" Alex asks as he crosses his arms against his chest. Luckily, the others were still having their debate so they weren't paying attention to Aurora and Alex.
"I didn't hesitate, I was thinking." Meredith corrects.
"You have to think about it? Fine. I'm moving out right now." George says, closing his locker and heading to the door. But when he gets there, Bailey was walking in. "Later, I'm moving out later because right now I have rounds." He states with a scoff, turning back around. Bailey stops in her place when she sees Doc.
"Tell me that is not a dog." Bailey says in a stern tone, a bit annoyed as well. Alex and Cristina glance over at her at the same time.
"It's not a dog." They respond before Alex looks back over at Aurora who was just trying to avoid his eye contact.ย "Aurora." Alex states but Aurora just shakes her head, turning away from him. He heard the quiet sniffles coming from her which made a sigh leave his lips.
"Everyone to the pit." Bailey tells them, gesturing to the door. The interns leave the room on demand but Bailey notices Alex and Aurora were lagging behind. "Karev, Aurora, get a move on." She states with a sigh.
Alex looks over at her, glancing back at Aurora before walking over to Bailey.
"
Um, Doctor Bailey, can we just have a few minutes?" He asks her, knowing that it was really a 99% chance she would end up saying no anyways.
"You think our patients have a few minutes?" Bailey retorts, raising her eyebrows at him.
"Please." Bailey falters a bit, her eyes narrowing. She knew it was something serious if Alex was using manners.
"Is everything okay with her? Does she need to go home?" Bailey asks curiously, concern in her tone as she glanced back over at Aurora. Alex almost scoffed just at the thought. It would only make it worse sending her home.
"No, she just uh... she just needs a couple minutes." Alex responds. Bailey looks between them before a sigh leaves her lips.
"Okay, well, find me when you're done here." Bailey tells him and he nods his head. But before Alex could turn back, Bailey stopped him. "And Karev." He looked back at her. Baileys eyes soften in the slightest. "Page me if you need me." She states, pointing at him. Once he nods, she turns and heads out of the locker room.
Alex instantly goes back over to Aurora.
"
Come here." He says, grabbing her arm gently and pulling her away from the corner she nested herself in. "Did he lay his hands on you because I told that son of a bitch--" Alex starts to say, looking over her for any sign of an injury but Aurora stops him, grabbing a hold of his hands.
"He didn't." Aurora states, shaking her head a bit. Alex didn't believe her though.
"You've said that before."
"He didn't, he just..." Aurora trails off for a moment, biting her cheek as she tried to stop the tears that wanted to escape. "I think I'm in trouble." She admits, her voice cracking as she looked up at Alex. Alex furrows his eyebrows, a bit confused.
"Trouble?" Alex asks her and she nods her head. "Did he threaten you?" He hated how Isaac had so much power over her. She was terrified of him and that probably made Isaac feel amazing.
"A few years ago something happened and now he's holding it over my head so I can't leave. I c-cant leave, Alex. He'll ruin my life." Aurora explains. Alex didn't understand how Isaac would have something though because Aurora was practically a goodie two shoes. She never did anything wrong when they were growing up. The one thing she did that was illegal was shoplift a lipstick for fun.
"What does he have over you?" Alex questions. Aurora let's out a sigh as she brushes her hair out of her face.
"When I was in med school, there was this guy Adam who-- we would always work together to study for the tests." Aurora starts as she fiddles with her fingers nervously. "Isaac found out and he thought I was cheating on him so he beat him to a pulp. He almost killed him." She states while Alex just stares at her with a confused expression. "He was gonna send Isaac to jail but i--" Aurora stops herself for a second and she could see that Alex was putting it together already.
"I paid him off. I told him he can't go to the police. But he had already filed a report so I..." Alex closes his eyes for a second, bringing his hand up to rub his face. He knew what she was saying and honestly, he's surprised she even got away with it. But it was in Los Angeles most likely and people got away with loads over there.
"You bribed a police officer?" Alex asks her. Even he wasn't that stupid and he's done a lot of dumb shit in his life.
"I just didn't want to lose him." Aurora admits, only now seeing the idiocy in her past decisions. "And now he says he has proof and he'll use it. That I don't have any proof against him so I'll go to jail for a lot longer than he will." She tells him. Alex just thinks for a moment but he didn't believe it for a second.
"He's lying." Alex says as he shakes his head. Even if she did that, there wouldn't be any hard evidence that Isaac could possibly have. "There's no way he has proof of that." He denies.
"But what if he does?" Aurora asks him, knowing that it was possible. If it was, it would be detrimental to her career.
"He doesn't."
"But what if he does, Alex?" Her voice was more afraid this time. She didn't want to think about what would happen if Isaac did have proof.
"Then we'll find it." Alex assures her but he could see the hesitation in her eyes. "I'll help you find it." He states, taking a step closer to her as he peers down. "He's not gonna manipulate you into staying with him." He denies. Aurora glances down at the ground. "But hey." Alex catches her attention once more. "You have to talk to Daniel. He's really worried about you." He didn't want to be the reason Daniel was kept in the dark. Especially with him already being suspicious.
But Aurora shakes her head, her heart racing at the mention of her brother.
"
I-i can't." She denies, feeling the panic set it. "He'll be so mad at me." Aurora states. Alex knew that wasn't true though. Daniel would just be glad that she was trying to get out of that situation.
"He won't be mad." Alex denies, not wanting this to be the thing holding her back.
"I know I should've went to him but I didn't want to make it his problem. I didn't want him to get hurt. And I just... God, I thought he loved me." Aurora feels the tears run down her cheeks as she covers her face with her hands. Alex frowns as he glanced away for a moment.
He understood that love blinded you. But there was a point where it got so bad that the only thing blinding it would be yourself. Because the other person has made you so dependant on them, that you truly believe there is no other life than the life you have with them. "I know you did." Alex says, bringing his hand to her shoulder. Aurora moves toward him, resting against his chest as she sniffles softly.
Alex wraps his arms around her a bit loosely but they were still there. They were both quiet for a second before Aurora spoke up. "This is the second time we've hugged in two days." She points out and she couldn't help but laugh at it. However many years they've known each other and the only two times they've hugged has happened in the span of two days.
"Yeah. It's getting weird." Alex admits as he nods his head before pulling away from her. Aurora groans as she wipes away some of her tears.
"I still hate you." She mumbles as she glances up at him. Alex tilts his head a bit, a small smirk forming on his lips.
"I think it's more of a mutual loathing now." He corrects her. Aurora couldn't help but roll her eyes a little, shaking her head a bit. She just meets his gaze again, hesitating to ask the question that was in her mind.
"Can I stay with you for a few days?" Aurora asks him. Alex seemed a bit taken aback by it. "I just..ย Izzie will ask way too many questions and I don't think I'm ready to answer them." She loved the girl but the moment she walked into the house, a million questions about her relationship will be asked.
"Well, I just..." Alex trails off when he sees the desperation in her eyes. And he sure as hell was not about to let her go back to her own apartment, at least not without someone with her. "Of course you can stay with me." He tells her and Aurora was grateful toward him. Probably for the first time in her life.
"God, I never thought I'd be coming to you of all people for help." Aurora admits with a small laugh. Alex smiles gently, not believing it himself.
"I'm really the only one who understands though." Alex points out. Sure, she could talk to others about what she's going through but not only did they grow up together but they has an understanding. Because Alex's family went through a very similar thing.
"Aurora, are you---" Derek stops mid sentence as he notices the two. "Oh, sorry." He apologizes. Until he sees the tear stains on Auroras cheeks. "Is everything alright?" He asks, furrowing his eyebrows as he looks between them, mainly toward Alex. Alex saw the hint of anger in his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, Doctor Shepherd. I'm fine." Aurora assures him, putting a smile on her face as she quickly wiped her face some more. Derek seemed to be reluctant to move on with the conversation.
"I'm clipping an aneurysm if you want to scrub in. But if you're not up for it, that's okay." Derek tells her.
"No. I'm good." Aurora admits, glancing toward Alex before heading out of the room with Derek. Derek glanced at her a few times, watching as she sniffled and wiped the remaining tears from her face. He stops for a moment causing her to stop as well.
"Did Alex do this?" Derek asks, glancing back at the locker room and he was clearly being protective even though they weren't really all too close. He did seem fond of her though.
"What?" Aurora asks, furrowing her eyebrows before shaking her head. "Of course not. He was actually helping me believe it or not." She denies, not wanting anyone to think that Alex made her cry. One, because she would never live that down and two, she would push Alex off a roof before allowing him to say anything that would cause her to cry.
"I don't know if I do." Derek says in a slightly teasing tone. Aurora just smiles gently. "Come on. I'll catch you up on the patient on the way to the O.R." He tells her and Aurora nods her head before following after the man.

THE SUN SHINED ON HER SKIN AS AURORA WALKED OUTSIDE. She loved doing surgeries but sometimes the lack of sunlight really affected her. Especially breathing the same air in that O.R. Though, she wouldn't swap brain surgery for a single thing. Aurora noticed Alex sitting at a table alone, staring at the letter in his hand. She knew it was the letter telling him if he had passed his boards or not. Seemed he was too much of a chicken to actually open it.
Walking up behind him, Aurora smirked as she hovered behind the man. "Open it." She says quickly, beside his ear. Alex all but jumped in his chair as his head snapped around. He glared toward her, narrowing his eyes as the woman only laughed back at him.
"Jesus. Don't sneak up on someone like that." Alex mutters as he just turns back to the table. Aurora smiles as she sits down in the chair next to him. Her eyes go back to the letter before a sigh leaves her lips.
"I'm sure you did good." Aurora assures him. He was over thinking this whole thing way too much. He just had to open it and get it over with. Alex looked a bit suspicious as he stared back at her.
"Really? The one telling me that I'm gonna flunk out now has confidence in me?" Alex didn't believe it in the slightest. Aurora was slightly annoyed as she leant against the table.
"Well, I helped you study so you better pass." Aurora points out as she shrugs her shoulders a little. She did not spend that time with him just for him to fail.
"And if I don't, I can just blame you." Alex retorts with a smirk. Aurora rolls her eyes, taking a sip of her coffee. "Talk to Daniel yet?" He asks, raising his eyebrow. Aurora's demeanor softened as she just shook her head.
"He's in surgery." Aurora replies. She could see the look that Alex gave her. "I will." She tells him. Alex sighed but seemed to let it go just as Cristina came to the table.
"Are we gonna do this or what?" Alex asks her, raising an eyebrow.
"Let's do it." Cristina stated as she sits down with her hotdogs in front of her. The reason being, a competitive eater was being treated and they wanted to have a little competition. Well, not Aurora because she didn't think she had to prove herself by choking on some hot dogs.
"Don't start without me." George says as he quickly moves to the table as Izzie sits down as well.
"We're not gonna start if izzie doesn't focus." Alex points out as he looks toward her. Izzie just rolls her eyes a little bit.
"Izzie, come on." Cristina groans.
"Someone's gonna puke." Aurora points out with a slight grimace. She couldn't stomach just thinking of the outcome. Alex shakes his head as he scoffs a bit.
"Not me, I'm winning." Alex denies. Cristina only rolls her eyes as she shakes her head.
"What should I put on the flyer?" Izzie asks, referring to the flyer she was making in order to sell Doc.
"I dont--" George starts to say but Cristina cuts him off.
"Destructive, aggressive, hell dog available?" Cristina states. Aurora smirks as she laughs a bit.
"That's not helping." George denies with a bit of a glare.
"Fine, uh, playful, protective puppy. Needs loving home." Cristina corrects herself, raising her eyebrows. Izzie smiles instantly.
"Good!" Izzie says as she starts to write it down.
"And will then terrorize you." Aurora mumbles causing Cristina to smirk a little bit while Izzie just glares toward her. Meredith walks toward the table, sitting down at the empty seat.
"Hey, George--" Meredith starts to say but is cut off.
"Don't talk to me! You'll only make me mad. You're gonna mess up my game and I'm in the zone." George says as he stares at his plate. Meredith was a bit confused but let it go.
"Okay? What are you doing?" Meredith asks as she looks toward Izzie.
"Oh. It's a flyer. I'm gonna put it up--"
"Izzie, come on." Cristina demands as she references to the stopwatch. Izzie puts down the flyer, holding her hands up in defense.
"Okay! Keep your panties on." Izzie tells them with a scoff, picking up the stopwatch. "All right." She says, looking at everyone.
"No touching." Cristina says to George as she noticed him having his hand on the hot dog already.
"Go!" Izzie says and Alex, Cristina and George all start to eat their hotdogs quickly. Aurora scrunched her nose up a little bit, glancing away and meeting Meredith's gaze.
"Are you sure everything's okay? Alex seemed a bit serious when he talked to me yesterday." Meredith says, not really doing a good job at keeping her voice quiet but no one was really paying attention.
"Yeah, no, everything's good." Aurora tells her, clearing her throat a bit. Meredith furrows her eyebrows.
"Really? Because it was weird that Alex was asking for you to stay with us." She points out. She could see someone else asking, but not Alex.
"Because he's a douche?" Aurora retorts with a slight smirk. Meredith laughs a bit, shaking her head.
Cristina suddenly stands up, raising her hands in the air. "It's a record!" She shouts victorious. Aurora raises her eyebrows as she just stares up at the woman.
"She's cheating." Alex points out with a scoff, just being a sore loser if anything.
"I beat your asses." Cristina says with a smile on her face. Aurora laughs as she watches the woman. "You wanna be me but you can't be me. You wanna be me.." She stops herself, her hand going to her stomach.
"Crap, she's gonna blow." Izzie points out making everyone's eyes widen as they quickly got up from the table.
"Run!"

BAILEY WAITS OUTSIDE OF THE PATIENT ROOM IN THE WHEELCHAIR, knowing that Addison was going to personally see that she leave the hospital. But her eyes catch sight of Aurora who was walking down the hall. Luckily, no one else had shown up just quite yet. "Aurora." She catches the blonde woman's attention as Aurora looks toward her curiously. "While I have a minute, can I talk to you?" Bailey asks her. Aurora walks over to her, a bit confused.
"Aren't you heading home?" Aurora asks her. Bailey nods, readjusting herself for a moment.
"I am but I know I'll be gone for a few weeks." Bailey points out while Aurora was still a bit confused as to why she was called over. "Is everything alright with you after this morning?" She asks making Aurora falter a bit but she quickly puts a smile on her face.
"Yeah." She says, although it wasn't convincing at all.
"Aurora, you know I can tell when you're lying." Bailey states, pointing her finger in Auroras direction. Aurora just laughs as she shrugs her shoulders.
"There's nothing you have to worry yourself with, Bailey." Aurora denies. Honestly not wanting too many people involved with her personal life. It was something she had to deal with herself.
"Mhm." She hums, narrowing her eyes a bit. "I told Alex to keep an eye on you, I know you don't like him but he's the only one who won't lie to me about it." Bailey tells her. Aurora rubs the back of her neck as she starts to shake her head.
"You don't have to do that--"
"Look, whatever may or may not be going on in your life, that's your business. But if you do need help, you know everyone in this hospital would in a heartbeat." Bailey states, not wanting to push too hard but knowing there was a little nudge needed. Some people just had to realize that there were people who could help, they just had to reach out.
"Really? Even you?" Aurora asks, raising her eyebrow curiously.
"Tell anybody and I will have you on scut for the rest of the month." Bailey threatens her and Aurora laughs as she holds her hands up. Bailey glances around momentarily. "Between you and I, I don't have favourites, but you're mine." She says, keeping her voice a bit quiet. Aurora couldn't help but smile brightly at this. She just had a way with people. If she could get Bailey to like her, nothing could stand in her way.
"Miranda, I said straight to the lobby." Addison scolds as she walks up to them, the other interns behind her. Bailey sighs as she looks back at Addison.
"I'm going." She admits before she starts to be wheeled down the hall by one of the nurses.
"Bed rest at home until the baby comes. You do know what bed rest is, don't you, Miranda?" Addison asks her, raising an eyebrow as she places a hand on her waist. Bailey sighs as she is wheeled into the elevator.
"Yeah." She responds.
"Hell with TV and books." Izzie says with a smile on her face before holding out a gift. "Here. It's from all of us." She tells her and Bailey takes it. The doors start to close but Bailey stops them with her foot.
"I may be forty seven months pregnant. I may be on bed rest, I may not be able to see my own feet. But I am Doctor Bailey." She explains to them as she stares directly at the interns. "I hear everything, I know everything. I'm watching each and every one of you. And I will return." Bailey states, narrowing her eyes before she allows the elevator doors to close.
Aurora smiles, shaking her head before starting to head down the hall. Meredith stops the others, although Alex had already disappeared. "I think Somethings going on with Aurora." She admits as she looks at them. Izzie furrows her eyebrows a little bit.
"Why would you say that?" Izzie asks her, wondering why this was being said all of a sudden.
"Alex asked me if she could stay with us."
M
eredith tells them.
"Alex?" George asks, confused to say the least. That was definitely a bit out of the ordinary since Alex and Aurora were usually at each other's throats.
"I know, weird right?" She questions but Cristina just shrugs her shoulders.
"They barely talk without arguing so yeah, it is." Cristina admits but she still wouldn't think too much into it.
"So, Somethings wrong." Meredith says, trying to get confirmation but none of them were helping. She didn't want to get into other people's personal business, she just thought it was odd.
"Just ask her." George suggests.
"She won't tell me." Meredith denies as she shakes her head.
"Why cause she's a liar like us?" Cristina asks with a smirk, tilting her head. Meredith just gives her a deadpanned look.
"Because it's probably personal." Meredith corrects her. Izzie crosses her arms against her chest.
"Then why are you bringing it up?" Izzie asks her, wondering why she was questioning this if she wasnt even going to do anything with the information given.
"I don't know." Meredith admits with a small sigh. "It's probably nothing, right?"
S
he asks them, glancing around the group and they all collectively nod.
"She probably just had a fight with her boyfriend and wanted a place to crash." Cristina suggests.
"Yeah, that makes sense." Meredith states.
"Don't think too much of it." George tells her before walking off with the others. Meredith stands there for a moment longer, thinking to herself. But she knew they were right and she was just over thinking the whole thing. It was a bit weird, but she didnt really see many other inconsistencies.
So, Meredith just turned and followed after the group, moving it to the back of her mind.

HEADING TOWARD THE FRONT DOOR, Aurora was planning on meeting Alex outside in order to go to his place. She hoped she wasn't intruding too much since he seemed a bit hesitant to let her crash with him. She did think of just going home but right now, she knew that was not a good idea. "Aurora!" She hears someone call her name. Aurora glances around until she sees Addison walking toward her.
"Oh, hey." Aurora responds as she stops walking, crossing her arms against her chest. Addison stands in front of her, tilting her head a bit.
"Did you want to grab dinner with us?" Addison asks her. Aurora furrows her eyebrows, a bit confused and honestly nervous as the question lingers in the air.
"Grab dinner with you.... and Doctor Shepherd?" She retorts, narrowing her eyes as she wanted to know if she heard that right.
"Come on, we're friends right?" Addison questions and Aurora nods her head although she wasn't sure if she would regret that or not. "And Derek adores you, he won't mind." She assures the blonde.
"Won't mind what?" Derek asks as he stops beside them, a bit confused as he had heard his name
"I was just asking if she wanted to get dinner." Addison tells him as she looks toward her husband who was a bit surprised.
"Oh." Derek responds, his eyes flickering between them before he smiles gently. "Yeah, that sounds good." He states as he nods his head a bit.
"I appreciate the offer but I actually had plans tonight." Aurora tells them, never being more happy to hang out with Alex in her entire life.
"That's okay." Derek says, honestly glad as well. They weren't too close yet and it would be a tiny bit awkward seeing how Aurora was also friends with Meredith.
"Another night though." Addison says and Aurora nods her head. "Or we can grab breakfast before work next shift, whatever works." She suggests making Aurora smile gently.
"Yeah, sounds great." She responds.
"Great." Addison says before watching the woman walk off. Derek looks toward his wife, a curious expression on his face.
"And why are you so keen on becoming friends with her?" Derek asks her, staring at her and Addison sighs as she meets his gaze.
"I am friends with her." Well, Addison hoped she was. She liked Aurora and they had a good time when they hung out, even if it was mainly inside the hospital. "I thought she was your favourite resident." She points out.
"She is." He was a bit reluctant to say it, mainly because he didn't know where she was going with it.
"I just want to get to know people, okay?" Addison says, raising her eyebrow a bit. It wasn't a crime to make friends, especially with people Derek already liked.
"Okay." Derek responds with a smile before they make their way out of the hospital.
Aurora walks over to Alex who was stood by one of the benches. "You ready?" Alex asks her and she nods her head, moving her bag more onto her shoulder as she walks beside him.
"Yeah."
"We can pick up some takeout on the way, I don't really have much food in my fridge." Alex admits as they walk toward the car. Aurora presses her lips together in a tight smile, nodding her head.
"Sure." Aurora says, not really caring what they did. She was just glad to have a space to go to without having to worry what mood she'd walk into with Isaac. She could have a nice evening without having to even think about it. Aurora just hoped he was working late at work and honestly wouldn't notice her not being there.
By the time they had gotten back to his place and eaten, it had gotten pretty late. And with the schedule they were on, they barely had time to sleep let alone do anything else. So, Alex had leant her some clothes to sleep in since she hadn't brought much with her and she was changing in the bathroom. They had made a bit of small talk but it had mainly been quiet on the drive and even since they had gotten here. Aurora didn't know if it was because Alex wasn't pushing as much to talk about Isaac or if they just didn't have much to talk about.
Aurora walks out of the bathroom, shutting the light off behind her. She sighs as she walks back toward Alex, noticing that he was in front of the couch with a blanket in his hand.
"What are you doing?" Aurora asks, furrowing her eyebrows. Alex glances over at her before looking back at the couch.
"Just setting up the couch." He answers her. Aurora sighs, shaking her head as she walks over to him, grabbing the pillow from the man.
"No, Alex. I'm not gonna kick you out of your own bed." She denies. She felt bad enough invading his space, she wasn't going to force him out of his room. But Alex just shrugs his shoulders, not really caring.
"It's fine." Alex tells her, taking the pillow back and putting it on the couch. Aurora frowns slightly as she crosses her arms against her chest.
"I'll sleep on the couch." Aurora suggests, not minding in the slightest. But Alex chuckles as he raises his eyebrows. Usually the girl would take the more comfortable option rather than the heap of a couch.
"Trust me, you want the bed." Alex says, looking over at her. Aurora was still quite reluctant but she knew Alex would end up moving her to the bed even if she fell asleep on the couch.
"Thanks." She says quietly, biting the inside of her cheek as she watches him. Aurora brushes her hair behind her ear before she moves toward the bedroom. She hesitates by the door frame, glancing back over her shoulder at him before making her way into the room and closing the door behind her.
