   WATCHING YOUR ENTIRE WORLD END WAS A SIGHT ONE NEVER EXPECTED TO WITNESS. Most expected to die before any sight of the inevitable to come was given to them. They were the lucky ones, not having to experience the fear and countless numbers of their loved ones being turned into nothing but ash and bones. Not to see the world they once knew be nothing but ruins and the rage of a vengeful spirit. Those people were given mercy while others who did see the end were met by the infinite red. Carter Locke had been one of those people.

   EVERYTHING HAD BEEN TAKEN FROM HIM IN WHAT WAS ONLY A FEW DAYS OF CARNAGE. What was left of his parents was nothing but dust and his sister, left to bleed out by the red whisps of rage belonging to the woman he loved ripping out her heart. Carter had been the last person on that earth with the Witch, left to face the person he couldn't even recognize. Forced to do the one thing he never dreamed of. Kill the Witch.

   AND WITH THE EXPOSURE TO THE WITCH'S POWERS, CARTER WAS GIVEN POWERS MUCH DARKER THAN THE WITCH'S. Rooted from the true evil that had been exposed to him by the Witch in their last few moments together. All that anger, bloodlust, sorrow, formed into powers by the mind stone and the Witch, handed over to him. Like it had been some sort of fucking gift and it was his sweet little birthday. And anyone can tell that being given something like that from a tyrant was nothing close to a damn gift.

   BUT DESPITE THIS, HE PROMISED HIMSELF AND HER THAT HE WOULD MAKE THINGS RIGHT, FOR HER PARTICULARLY. Carter meant to keep that promise, jumping back in time, but being knocked off course. Landing himself in a new universe, a world that had yet to face the destruction and wrath of the Witch. A second chance at everything that he did wrong and to help this universe not suffer the same fate that his universe once did. To change the tide and time itself and not have the woman he loved to resort to the darkness that dwelled inside of her. He was the final strand of his old world. The one and true particle that permeates all of existence in his old world.

I've been wanting to do a Wanda fic for a while. Carter's inspiration came from the famous UPS game, Death Stranding. I loved Higgs and decided to give Carter those same qualities, but not make him a total a-hole and heartless bastard.
