juliet elizabeth st. james was born on december first, 1989 to hope and elliot st. james. she first met iris west when they were in kindergarten and the two instantly became best friends. their group grew when they were introduced to barry allen, who also instantly became their best friend. hope and elliot were often pulled away from home to go on trips for their job, so juliet and her little sister, noelle, would always stay at iris' house. after the murder of barry's mother, juliet began to stay at iris' house more to be there for him since joe west, iris' father, took him in. the three of them plus noelle practically grew up together under the same roof. it is unknown when juliet realized that her feelings for barry were romantic rather than platonic, but she still has those feelings now. however, she tried to ignore them since barry had feelings for iris. she went to college to study forensic science and ended up obtaining a job as a csi at the ccpd with barry. on the night of the particle accelerator explosion, a lightning strike that hit barry caused a piece of glass to hit a red chemical, which then splashed all over juliet. she touched barry's shoulder to get him to wake up, but a spark emitted from it and shocked her. after being awoken from a nine month coma in s.t.a.r. labs, juliet and barry find themselves with extraordinary powers. the two of them become scarlet and the flash and serve as central city's heroes.
