Β  β€” TWs for graphic violence, blood, knives, death

IT TOOK LONGER THAN expected for Draco to do the signal. Seven had began to worry that something had gone wrong, β€” that he'd been unable to take out the two Crawlers stationed outside Gluttony's door, or worse β€” caught.

Β  The thoughts raced through her mind at a million miles per hour, what would she even do if he had actually been caught? What if he confessed and they came after her too?
Β  Seven eyed up the balcony, she was not one of the lucky few who'd figured out how to surpass the anti-disapparation charms placed over every district, so instead she'd have to run on foot. She decided that if it came down to it she could jump from the balcony, after all she was quite accomplished in spells and could summon an freezing or anti-gravity spell before she had time to become pigeon-paste on the pavement below.

Β  β€” But then it came; the signal. It came in the form of the whistle, a single note, held for only a second before the sound was ripped from the air and replaced by a stagnant silence.

Β  Seven slipped around the door, closing it as quietly as she could, before entering the adjacent room; Gluttony's.
Β  The moment her body surpassed the threshold and the Exsurdo charm Draco had placed on the room she heard their voices, low and urgent.

She was grateful to be able to be able to confirm that the charm had worked, keeping all sound confined within the four walls of the room. The last thing they needed was for security to come running when they heard the Sin start to scream.

Β  The apartment mirrored their own, lush and grande. It made Seven wonder how Draco had ever managed to afford theirs; a room fit for sin.

Β  Her heart rate skipped a beat when she heard a female voice, the same one she'd heard the day prior by the lift say, "He'll know it was you, Draco. You know he will!"

Β  Seven hesitated, wanting to round the corner but finding herself unable to as she heard the voice hiss again, "And when he does what then? He'll kill you and we both know it, there is no way through this Draco!Β  β€” There is no winning!"

Β  All of a sudden Seven found her feet, throwing herself around the corner to see Draco, wand raised and aimed dead-centre at the woman's chest, and her's pointing straight back at him. Gluttony's eyes locked on her at once and her mouth fell open with involuntary words. "... It can't be..."

Β  Seven glared at her, aiming her own wand at the Sin's throat which bobbed slightly as she swallowed, "You said she was dead."
Β Β
Β  A memory flickered somewhere far off, triggered by the woman's big brown eyes, sharp and yet in that same breath afeared. Seven had seen her before one thousand times, by now she knew every farce and freckle of her handsome face. Alongside the other Sins, all except Wrath, for the past few years her face had been plastered over billboards, bridges, and the television.

Β  "She is." Draco hissed through gritted teeth and a muscle in his forearm ticked as he held his wand tighter. " β€” Because of you."

Β  Gluttony faltered, perfect lips fumbling for words where she had none. Her crimes were undeniable. Seven saw her step back, ever so slightly, her free hand that wasn't on her wand reaching behind her on the dresser, fingers stretching out towards a strange silver mirror.

Β  At first she was confused and wondering why, then it clicked; a Portkey.

Β  Seven reacted at once, "Depulso!"
Β  The beam of light struck the mirror milliseconds before Gluttony's fingers could wrap around the handle, sending the object flying through the open balcony to smash into a million pieces on the street thirty floors below.

Β  " β€” No!" Gluttony cried, rushing over throwing herself against the balcony railing as if trying to catch the Portkey, but it was already too late.

Β  The two closed in, wands pointed at her back in unison.
Seven stared; transfixed as the Sin's shoulders began to shake. At first she thought she may be crying, but then she heard the laugh; sharp and humourless.

Β  The sound wrapped around Seven with knife-like hands, burring themselves deep beneath her flesh and making her skin crawl.

Β  "Go on." Gluttony cried, turning to face them, her face suddenly streaked with tears. "Do it!"

Β  She took a step towards them, and Seven shot a glance towards Draco β€” who's face was an unreadable mask; hard and unforgiving yet somehow Seven doubted that was how he really felt. If it was Gluttony would've been dead already.

Β  "You can't, can you?" Gluttony stepped closer to Draco once more. He seemed frozen, entirely unmoving except for the shaking breath that fled his lightly parted lips.

Β  "Because all those years ago, you felt something for me β€” the way I did for you... The way I still do β€” the way I always will."

Β  Draco didn't answer and she stepped forward again, so close that the tip of his wand pressed against her forehead. Gluttony's gaze flickered between his grey eyes pleadingly. "...Please Draco."

Β  He stared at her for a long moment, the look in their eyes screamed of all memories that Seven would never be aparty to. They did not need words. Were they once lovers? β€” All those years ago before the war had torn them apart and made Gluttony one of the most infamous women in the country.
Β  The thought made Seven feel something strange inside, something red and hot and distinctly violent.

Β  "We can go back... We can run away, somewhere he'll never find us and it will be just like before!" A tear slipped down Gluttony's cheek. "Draco, I love you, β€” I've always loved you."

Β  He took a breath, strong shoulders rising with the intake, letting it fill him up and become him, and then falling with the expulsion. He rid himself of emotion. He became what he was supposed to, shutting everything else out. His features grew harsh and unforgiving as he whispered, "Avada Kedavra."
